[Music] [Music] what's up everybody today Jamila and I are going to our schools because we want to do some last-minute checks this is like a tradition Jamila and I always do like a last-minute check right before the school year as far as we come in make sure everything in an order anything we may need extra to do we'll do that so we go have us a nice blessed school year and try to get you out tour tomorrow oh this is my classroom if I saw a student like your mother sitting on my bed like that sometimes but this is my room how are you when folks are getting real comfortable I've let boy get off my desk but this is my room got a nice-sized classroom this is where I have the traditional white board but you use that to keep my data so kids know how well they're performing in the class this is the board I teach off of and I have yes and then I got another one in the back that I try to use anytime we're doing like a lab for lab data this is my desk area fume hood in case we use chemicals a couple times but never felt like maybe like the storage something that we're doing but I'll never do anything that's like smoking and need to be ventilated but this is my classroom [Music] thank ya oh yeah and these are my back mm-hmm and this is my back lab areas so this is where we do our labs so I got three tables here I'll try to maybe keep just from like five to six students per lab station but this is mine jameelah day give me that yeah I did it for summer school but I made I'm gonna need that extra desk yeah sorry I don't have see that's the main issue because we have such a huge student population I have 29 desks but my biggest class right now is gonna be 32 but I don't like them sitting back there because it becomes like a hangout spot we see yeah but they can't get off test or they can feel like you know oh no they're not ass aware or like do not yes yeah sometimes so that's like part of my day one you know etiquette and room expectations so here all right I got my day one set up here's my flange scientific safety contract here's my corny typical day one icebreakers to get everybody up and talking yeah that's my stool there no here's my lab jacket that the middle of Prague wants try to steal I know it gonna be too big for you yeah no yeah so let me go ahead and do this traditionally every year traditionally every year Jamila comes in my room she goes shopping through all of my stuff whatever actually I have a May it doesn't have to be extra whatever Jamila finds in the beginning of the school year every year she wanted still in it no I had Jeffrey placed that yesterday I just looking it up yesterday she does this every year yeah she stills like a good 20% of my supplies I'm a good 20% know 20% look I still talk to my drawers she does this every year I'll tell you what my supply drawers hey God tell them where is that I get cubed mad at my little boy Timmy anybody killed Timmy you right here we go come out why you teaching tomorrow oh yeah that's one of my family tell my student I would have roaches y'all need to spray I said I'm about the roses in this class on time to come do anything cookies you know you can say you could take them up you want you know teach off the whiteboard the whole time yeah yeah why you right I didn't use like C and then I got mom then I got these right here are you I used to rent duties all the time when I was first teaching so this is my classroom y'all we're about to go ahead and take off let me show y'all one more thing and that every week oh there's gonna be torn up it gonna be torn up there's gonna be torn up I already know it is so look over here is my recycling center um thinking about going headed taking it now I'm probably leaving here just so I can set the trend of kids knowing where do we recycle stuff especially with this being a science class I'm trying to instill in them the importance of recycling waste no this is my station this is my station cuz I'm a little bit taller than you feel better that way okay but this is my classroom and Monday is going down you gonna take that whole thing and remote see signs leave that alone oh you know what you did ask for like these posted deep but this is the store space my mother says she need some baking soda huh nice I've been up here since like my first year teaching a lot looking at that blow up look at every time oh look at it and you know why I'm really like this globe I felt like it is like the true depiction of like how they act of Africa is the last time we look on the globe on like typical mass it makes Africa look like so small but like Africa is they try to make United States look bigger yeah a long least like half the size that's not mine it's not like that large your mother by stealing my core stuff [Music] where's the rest of you I'll use that thing about electrical line yeah all right IRA see you Monday he's going down your arm and 482 let's go all right so we are in a school box Jamela is looking for a here elements of literature literature well science sorry so we're gonna try to find some posters for Jamila and Anthony my head to her school and put these posters up this is where I got good and we're headed no I don't know Jamila says she wants to go to IHOP even though she doesn't like aha no I take you you like well we are hungry it's like 2 o'clock we started eating all day because we walk about 12 I'm gonna get out the house but yeah we got some posters I want some decorations type stuff but I couldn't really find anything that I like yeah so plan part 1 go to the other one we have a window tomorrow I normally go to later on today and then sure yeah literally about to cry like so serious I cannot believe it but my cell is finally finally finally about to eat at Waffle House with me though I had the lights a Marcel you know like uh-huh I mean I love Waffle House and he's parking like I'm about to cry like I'm so emotional right now y'all hey pops I've been given another chance today and then we got me this quick but we got stuff I gotta do I say I put the muck low for the dry cleaner so I can have something where'd they want it but apparently Jamila don't care I got you thank you [Music] yo papa he moved to good yeah I'm talking about a slur today I had a bit my tongue really bad the other day and it's like my tongue is just slightly swollen so if I'm slurring a little bit that's why hopefully it's gone by Monday got a teacher but I think the food was so good you change my mind I had like a really bad experience with Waffle House the first go-around when I first moved to Georgia the food was cold they look dirty and then I was all macking or coming from up north you know I hop is like the main spot and I saw a breakfast planes don't serve pancakes so the really super good it was soft it was creamy it was yeah it was really good but I don't know how much I work now because I don't know if I'm able to hold your mother where class for me because I'm like being able to sleep terribly recline back and the school color for me it's 2:43 oh my gosh alright y'all got hated you know school we're taking like a quick pit stop break but now we're actually what your middle school looks like and after that my class classroom classroom classroom let's go and now we are at Jamila's school her classroom house often the refrigerator but yeah I'm gonna give y'all a tour of her classroom this is her boorda she teaches offer and these are her student desk and these are her lab tables which has students perform lab experiments in it that's right this right here bum use in case you catch on fire and you need to rinse off a little bit this is her fume hood same as mine it's a little bit older but oh and this is where her co-worker deaf was last year but they spelled your mother's name wrong so she didn't bother bringing it to the house so it'd be a H right there March 31st is when we got married beside you didn't or but I'm pretty sure you want to redo it no addition from the theme for know y'all was that last year I built this chair for you know could use in your own room two years ago yeah I bought this chair for Jamila two years ago and I built it while she had another room around the corner and she's been using it ever since Oh comfortable give me a chair how much hair broke I'll be leaning all the way back this chair feels so good now Jamila did not take this chair home over the summer styles where someone's gonna steal it what you do with your phone Oh mm-hmm that's pretty dope what was it on the cabinet oh yeah the weight mm-hmm higher class room good dope but we got to put the posters up but Jamila has yeah we could do that but you villa has a nice-size room as well what that's why I said maybe I needed to bring my tools yeah so we come back out tomorrow and drove it up yeah that's pretty dope honey honey can you guess what this supposed to say it's probably a word together yeah Oh genius genius a genius a genius eh eh eh so in the front so the students can see it all time and they can always think of themselves as geniuses I know honey I would see a flower and all your decorative things in here where did it go honey no but you still had this decorated in the middle of table yeah it is aunt I believe what it is man now that really cool kids like dan chemistry then they're like oh we got the goggles here that's really cool I wrote the cool honey all right ready to work oh yeah let me see it let me see it so that people could see what the poster says says teachers who love teaching teach children to love learning Hey look at this Miss Smith no go ahead take audio you only didn't know more yeah she stood out folk calling her miss Jenkins what you don't know we just left the waffle house which had one of her old students and she was like hey [Music] [Music] so Jamila wants me to set up this aqua sprouts garden thing comes with all that he supplies the tank the lid some more lids deciding some other crap a self-timer that I may take home because I always need one of these alright so this shot to figure out how to set this up your dad I'm gonna get it done today with me crazy yeah yeah ask you to work [Music] [Music] so Jamila has helped out a tremendous amount I couldn't have done this without no time since I was tired I still pulled off of that Waffle House I cannot focus and I'm acing these things really hard and she has helped me oh my gosh [Music] that's all you gonna plant that seed oh my goodness what are you doing day two baggage in middle school Jamila it is over here cutting so yesterday what we did was we went back to school box on my mom's side of town and we bought some more posters better posters they're very good right and since Jamila is a science teacher she found some acid and bases she was teaching chemistry teacher she found some acid and bases that is too I did pick them out for her but I always like to give Jamila credit but she found a matter poster a states of matter poster she also found a physical and chemical change she also found an atom's posted another periodic table case the Eric Eric teacher can't have too many of these a molecules poster as well as a compounds poster and all these empty white binders that you see is what my mom donates to do another school every single year shout out the mom this one cabinet is our and Jamila does give these to her students so they can use them for the students who may be a little less fortunate average through the class set up full of binders Laura Hernan closed it right but shout out tomorrow and then we still have some more and here oh yeah my mom also donated why first of all why does my mom cuz she asks you do you need it you say no did she ask me if so now she stopped asking you she's my mom no my my tastes so much better care than she does me but listen to this and she also donated a laminator machine pretty pretty dull so what about the hang these posters up we bought some more tape and we're about to hang this outside of Jamila's door as a nice warm welcoming sign for her students to come in so yeah the first came back yeah but the sediments still rise up though so let me show you how what you miss talking about so yesterday as you know we set up the tank but I did a poor job reading instructions and I did not I cleaned out all of the dust on these little things right here so now what has happened is it has me a slight sediment dusty like bit at the bottom it's been yeah yeah yeah it hasn't even been a whole 12 hours and these things are already sprouting you get that little one in there sprout and so we got a little one sprout in honey you gonna bring these back to the house the Oh daggone it we grow it we eat it but it was some search online hallelu [Music] [Music] all right we are finished yes my room looks so much better mm-hmm I liked you moved from alive it's real welcome me it's real colorful the posters really made everything ha bye look at this poster right here this post is like really cool for like a scientific method poster that is really dope but Jamil and I want to thank you all for watching just keep us in your prayers that our school year is going to go by smoothly we'll have a nice healthy learning environment and all academic and personal goals that your bill and I go through or we set aside for yourself that will be blessed to receive such things y'all teaching is in the easiest profession you know we are able to you know have vacations throughout the year but to deal with so many students that have so many personality so many needs it puts a mental toll on you and just keep us in your prayers Jamila this year has about 70 maybe less like 50 or less and that's first time ever known I have at least a hundred students run me on the other hand because she Jamila sees us students every day because she's on a semester basis I see my kids all year and I think every other day every other
