my grandmother promised us all that if she made it to 90 she would get a pink mohawk well she made it to 90. so rock on grandma i mean for a 90 year old she is killing this look how's it going everyone welcome back to easy peasy i'm your host david the baker and today we're going to be taking a look on into our slash made me smile you know the content that puts a smile on your face and my dad was going to bed tonight and he needed to inform me that santa was in brazil i'm a full ass adult and i can't tell you how much i love my dad calling me to give me santa updates merry christmas everyone i'm just too big you guys will look really small in the photo with me let's try it the other way hooray ah that's sweet my father turned 90 and wanted to do a photo shoot to be posted on social media even though he isn't on it he might not be on social media but he's definitely going viral you know like in a good way not the 2020 way i know things are dark but i just watched the fedex guy pluck a snail from the sidewalk cradle it in his gloves and find just the right size tulip in our front yard to set it inside because that's what heroes do wife pregnant 10 months breastfeeds for 12 months quits job to stay at home with our daughter me pretends to go downstairs behind the couch daughter dad has my best friend ah you can't beat that dad power meanwhile in edmonton at some 7-eleven we understand that schools are closed and that some families rely on school lunches so on monday to friday 11 a.m to 12 p.m kids 18 and younger can have a free slice of pizza a banana with a big gulp on us you see that right there that's beautiful kudos to 7-eleven get me to 5k subs so i can brag at the elderly home and look at that 5.2 thousand subscribers you see that edith i did it after coming home from iraq tyler's dad had nightmares so bad he feared closing his eyes tyler designed a smartwatch app to detect their onset and disrupt them with a gentle vibration it just won fda approval to treat ptsd related nightmare disorders well congratulations for getting fda approved but you should also get a nobel prize i mean that's pretty awesome my 64 year old mother told us on thanksgiving that she got accepted to a phd program at u-pin it's never too late to do what you want 64 and kill in the game that's lovely when i was 13 my mother purposely burnt a blue teddy bear i had to teach me a lesson for the past 10 years it haunted me my girlfriend surprised me with this bear as a pure gesture of kindness now i'm a 23 year old male with a teddy bear and i have no shame i'm so grateful for my girlfriend as you should i mean come on that bear is adorable and you have a nice girlfriend to get you one like this the first number on my scale has been a 2 for the past 21 years but not today 199 pounds that's definitely an achievement and i wish you luck on your journey to healthy living people from 40 different communities showed up to this man's call jamal cole sounded so sure of it so here you go cue about 10 minutes of laughs and now that brick sits proudly on my desk every time i'm overwhelmed or feeling like i've taken on too much i look at it pick it up have a little laugh and then put it back so i can carry on best gift ever oh you know she's a little confused but she's got the spirit i have covid and my fiance leaves food for me and then sits in the hallway so we can eat together tonight i got surprise hot cocoa oh and that looks delicious you see her right there yeah she's a keeper social media has some great gems of holiday advice my younger brother is trans my parents have been horrendous about dead naming and misgendering him at thanksgiving i used an air horn to correct them i fixed a two to three year long problem in two just got this message from the organizer oh my gosh i'm gonna cry it says thank you for the conversation it was really nice she can't wait to call you again if that doesn't put a smile on your face i low income and first from my tribe to graduate from stanford wild hey well congratulations that's awesome this is chester when i was in afghanistan i got a care package from one of those adopt-a-soldier programs that let families send care packages to service men and women who are deployed overseas anyways i got this care package and it came with the usual stuff baby wipes crackers peanut butter the dad threw in a pack of cigarettes and there was some jerky too but there also was this little beanie baby goldfish and a handwritten note from a seven-year-old girl that said dear soldier i wasn't even mad i hope you're doing well i'm sorry you have to miss thanksgiving with your family this is my friend chester he keeps me safe from monsters but i think you need him more than i do i hope this keeps you safe from the monsters you're fighting take care of him for me you bet your ass that little fish was in my pocket every time i went on patrol well of course it was in your pocket it's protecting you from monsters it would be dumb not to carry it around what's that can't stop laughing moment where you're in a situation you shouldn't be laughing visiting my grandmother's grave with my grandfather for the first time a few years ago expecting tears and a solemn day instead we passed a grave marked wanda and my grandfather said well i wonder what killed her none of us could stop laughing my grandmother would have loved it yeah but i bet wanda wouldn't love it she's probably standing there at the grave like ah come on guys what's going on good one grandpa my sister's dog was at the park and another golden retriever ran up to play after talking to the owner it turns out they're brothers oh no way that's so cool the dogs are like brother is that you i haven't seen you in ages that's sweet i was losing my hair due to anxiety and it made me feel sad and powerless then i said eff it and buzzed it all off here's my first hairless picture no more powerlessness hair or no hair i'm still worthy of happiness you're darn right you are and you know what you're killing the buzz haircut i've always wanted pink hair but i never had the courage to be anything but blonde i'll be 46 in january you know for somebody who's just now dying their hair pink this is an amazing job honestly it looks great i was offered a random day off due to an overstaffing mistake and i took it i decided to have fun with the pets i got all ready for work like i normally would and they did their usual job of trying to persuade me not to go and then i made the dramatic show of letting them win they've been on a happiness high for the past three hours i bet your pets are excited they're like it finally worked almost six years ago before my dad passed he gave my sister this 10 bill to give me on my 21st birthday so he could be the one to buy me my first beer cheers pop having this one for you no shout out to the men who haven't felt okay lately but still get up every day and refuse to quit stay strong kings maybe this doesn't belong here but my grandpa passed away today from kovid he was a lifelong christmas tree farmer looking at these picks from his farm the simple beauty of his life's work put a smile on my face through the years he was a great man you know i imagine he was i mean selling christmas trees you're basically selling christmas joy me why is our daughter crying wife she won't go to bed unless we find her elsa dress me just tell her to let it go haha wife me wife me yeah i'll go look for it we are open christmas day going around doing stuff like this no siree no these guys these are the true heroes yesterday i overheard a little kid asking their mom why i was using a wheelchair and the mom simply replied maybe his legs need a bit of extra help you can ask him if he's happy to tell you more no shaming the kid for asking no treating disability as a hush hush topic well i'm glad the mom actually responded correctly no matter what life has given us we've always found something to smile about i'm proud to finally call you my wife ah you guys look so cute congratulations on being newlyweds and yeah my heart is just it's full my son begged me for the stupid shark at the souvenir shop then photo bombed my pick now it's my favorite pick from our visit to the oregon coast well i can see why i mean come on the shark is just stealing the show he's like look at the vast and beautiful nature hi guys i'm a shark today is the day this little lady becomes my daughter happy adoption day uh you can just tell he is gonna spoil her but like not in a bad way in a good way in a sweet way honestly i wish more people adopted like this guy kudos this is what 50 bucks means to a small business fifty dollars is nothing to a billion dollar company start shopping small whoever just placed a 50 plus order in my shop thank you so much that literally just paid for half of my groceries tomorrow ah that's so good like the post says support small businesses our cat larry was adopted three months ago and sometimes has a hard time fitting in with his new brothers he was never allowed to explore his backyard in the past so his hunting skills are a bit new yesterday he brought the family his first catch it was a leaf and we're all very proud i'm sure the humans are very proud but the cats are just like uh what is this or what do you mean it's a leaf you guys proud of me my favorite part about opening gifts labeled from mom and dad is that my dad is just as surprised to see what's inside as i am yeah because the dad did not plan it he didn't have a single say in what you were getting he's like oh perfume that's wow we really chose a good gift for you uh-huh isn't that right honey growing up i didn't realize how poor we were my parents were amazing at providing for us we loved watching baseball games and i wanted to go to a game so bad but we could never afford it to make up for it while we were at school my mom made up tickets to that night's game and money for us to spend when we got home she had set up chairs in front of the tv and numbered them she gave us tickets and money and told us to go clean up before the game come game time we're lined up at the doorway my dad took our tickets and told us how to get to our seats after the game started my parents went to the kitchen and had a tray of hot dogs candy and soda hot dogs get your hot dogs we got out the money my mom made and bought whatever snacks we wanted best baseball game i've ever been to i mean honestly that sounds like a better experience than going to an actual stadium your parents are awesome and i'm glad they were able to make what they had work 2020 ain't all bad i asked this handsome fellow to my right to marry me and he said yes i didn't know what picture was gonna be up here but the fact that it's a guy makes it so i don't have to reread it so yeah congratulations and and that's enough meta commentary oh yeah i'm actually kind of excited because i didn't change it to a girl's voice like thinking it was a straight couple i just did a guy's voice and then boom luckily it's a gay couple so boom i don't language as she walked away i could tell that the answer was no so i took a 20 out of my wallet and walked up to her and said ma'am when you were walking over there just a second ago this fell out of your wallet i handed her the bill and walked away so she wouldn't be embarrassed if she figured out i was lying i did hear her say thank you so i half turned and told her you're welcome have a nice night it was only 20 but i think it made a difference to her and that felt amazing i know this is pandering but i've been depressed for months and haven't hit the gym during that time mr schwarzenegger can you please tell me to get off my lazy ass and hit the gym i swear to everything i hold dear that i will snap out of it and go arnold schwarzenegger i'm not going to be hard on you okay i'm not doing the voice i'm not gonna be that hard on you please don't be that hard on yourself we all go through challenges and we all go through failures sometimes life is a workout but the key thing is you get up just move a little roll out of bed and do some push-ups or go on a walk just do something one step at a time i hope you feel better and get back to the gym but don't beat yourself up because that's just useless talk it doesn't get you closer to the gym and don't be afraid to ask for help good luck oh our boy arnold's coming in with the wholesome advice and it's true don't try to tear yourself down try to build yourself up oh it's his first playstation from back in the day and here's his newest playstation wow you know you've really come a long way and the best part about to take it one step at a time my daughter beat cancer today best christmas gift ever that is so amazing she can get out of chemo and begin to enjoy her life without cancer getting in the way my papa lost my gran in february after being married for 50 years and it broke my heart how lonely he's been since and today he came in all pleased with himself telling me he found a group of men widowers that meet up each month to do woodwork and they're letting him join well that's awesome now he doesn't have to go through it alone after leaving an abusive relationship being homeless unemployed no family except my two-year-old daughter i get to hang this on my tree and it means so much first christmas in our new home mommy and adriana this person's life has definitely taken a couple shots at them but now they're living in a house with their daughter and that that's just beautiful i am trans and transitioned almost five years ago my family has been slow to come around but this year my uncle made a family tree for my grandparents and included my new name in it up and there's ianna i'm sorry that your family has taken a little longer to adjust but it's the small victories like these that kind of bring a ray of hope after not seeing my grandparents for months they finally figured out how to work facetime this was my grandpa's face when he saw me oh look at that smile they they are excited i hate to be this guy but maybe they weren't excited about seeing you maybe they were thinking yes i finally got this phone to work either way it's a beautiful smile after 70 years of neglect my dad decided to start taking care of himself he lost 75 pounds this year and i've never been prouder of him so this is before alright a little hefty there and after hey yo your grandpa's got the moves he's breaking it down you go grandpa my 11 month old son came off of his ventilator this morning following a ruptured brain aneurysm 12 days ago he's going to make it to his first birthday on christmas eve while it probably won't be his best christmas but it certainly won't be his last stay strong baby my dog chewed a hole through his towel and stuck his head through it now he wears it 20 minutes about her life they've exchanged numbers so they can keep in contact and meet up once this is all over and i just think that that's lovely whenever my parent flips out and gets angry i say hey in this soft comforting voice and then talk to him gently he calms down within seconds i just got frustrated enough at something and went ah and my parents said hey all softly and sweetly like a dozen times over the next minute it made me feel better instantly my parrot is better at conflict de-escalation than most people for the first time in my life a tall person stood in front of me at a concert looked back asked can you still see and then answer themselves with of course you can't i'm like six feet tall and then moved i wish so many blessings on their house i mean for somebody to be that considerate they definitely deserve those blessings my son asked for a new xbox controller for christmas didn't think about why we needed a new one until he opened it up and got all excited because now his sister could play games with him he didn't want the controller for himself he wanted it so they could play together now you see that's a good gift you know if you want to sprinkle on some extra christmas magic you get them some really fun two-player games you get a minecraft you get them some lego games mortal kombat okay maybe not mortal kombat but you know other good two-player games my wife's conservative religious high school wouldn't let me take her to prom 10 years ago because we were both women so i threw her one in our home for our fifth anniversary ah come on this is way better than high school prom high school prom is so much worse you got these sweaty teenagers just kind of lurking around pretending like they know how to slow dance but this this is glorious you got lights it's it's pretty it's beautiful so i was just looking through my phone and it turns out these good samaritans took some banger selfies after they took my drunk ass home bloody legends wait is that the police oh man they took you home made sure you got into your bed all safe and sound that's that's beautiful what's the single most important item in your home that has a value of one dollar or less a brown plastic realistic cockroach named freddy we got it over 20 years ago i don't remember where or why maybe a halloween party anyway my wife and i have been hiding it for each other ever since it could take months for freddy to pop up but he always does she will find him buried in the sugar pot i will later find it inside a pair of shoes i rarely wear it often makes us jump and gives us a small fright i'll hear my wife let a surprise gasp and then go oh freddy for me freddy is a great symbol that our relationship is still solid after all these years that we still take bingo kiddo now you know from one parent to another yeah that's how much i love you sweetie in 2019 i got way too drunk at the office christmas party and bet my co-worker that i would spend 2020 getting fit i kept my promise and won the bet i am very proud oh my goodness look at this transformation bro went from chunky to hunky oh my gosh my wife is making chicken nuggets and fries for our daughter's lunch she laughed and said it's fake mcdonald's so then i said mcdonald's and then she just stared at me not laughing and all i could think is man that would have gone viral on twitter well you kinda got what you wish for we're not exactly twitter but you definitely went viral here's the first picture and the second picture and the third picture and oh my gosh they're all grown and they're still friends that's lovely i really hate to brag but i have a private chef that prepares my lunches the kids like okay here you go and look at that lunch it's perfect i have a confession when my hubby gets stuck on a part of a video game for a long period of time i will look up the solution on my phone and then give him vague suggestions to push him in the right direction i've been doing this for six years because that's what heroes do you know you don't want to just straight up tell them hey i looked it up here's how you do it but your little suggestions help guide him along the way
