all right guys Wes here welcome back to the channel So today we're going to talk about rise of the Ronin from Team ninja so if you didn't already know this game is set to be one of the biggest PlayStation exclusive games of 2024 and with every new piece of information and gameplay that comes out I get even more excited for this game now recently team ninja confirmed a ton of huge gameplay updates and details everything from character creation Co-op multiplayer there was also a recent behind the- scenes video on the making of Rise of the Ronin so we're going to talk about that in so much more so check the video chapters for easy viewing also guys real quick I'm giving away a PlayStation 5 at 150,000 subscribers to enter it's super easy all you have to do is subscribe to the channel comment your Twitter handle tweet me proof that you're subscribed and I've got the full details in the pinned comment so without further delay let's get into it so starting things off Sony recently published a lengthy piece on the Playstation blog going over a ton of new details about rise of the Ronin gameplay along with a new Gameplay trailer that shows more of the combat in motion they said this and I quote a variety of weapons are available for battling your enemies in addition addition to team Ninja's signature Sword Play you could wield Japanese Spears and range Firearms including foreign pistols hybrid Japanese Western weapons are also options you could use the flamethrower like fire pipe to roast groups and ignite flammable barrels or wield the bayonet to deflect blades and counter rifle blasts they continued with choosing your combat style and keeping your enemies armaments in mind is key to gaining advantage in battle which that sounds very similar to something like ghost of sushima where you had different combat stances and then from there you could switch your stance depending on what enemy you're fighting they then said as team ninja fans know timing is the key in melee combat in the new trailer they released it showcas is a heated battle between swordsman's where stance selection blocking and timed parries are critical to defeating foes you could also wield a versatile grappling rope to pull distant enemies in during fights or perform a stealthy takedown on an unaware Sentry players can also use the rope to launch themselves towards foes and close the gap and then they said prepare to use every tool available to overcome the Fearsome threat facing our faded Ronin I'll talk more about the game play but everything we've seen so far makes this game look super insane it's almost like a mix between ghost of sushima sakiro and of course games like Neo they also said that plenty of choices are available when covering ground in late 19th century Japan the grappling rope is useful outside of combat to scale rooftops over Heights allowing you to gain leverage in a Flash there was obviously that one moment during the trailer where the user essentially just used the grappling rope to get up on top of the building and then they immediately started gliding after which that right there looked super smooth like if that's going to be the gameplay that we get for Rise of the Ronin it's about to be an addicting experience I hope that the barrier rentry is like super easy to learn but it's also something that takes a bit to master I have a feeling that there's going to be a part of the skill tree that allows you to do better movement maybe the grappling rope has like charges or a cooldown timer or you're able to use a once SP if you want to like do another grapple after that you have to sit through a cool down and then from there like once you master the game and become the ultimate Ronin you could grapple immediately and then go into a Glide maybe a dive and then grapple again and just kind of string those along now another thing you could do is mount a trusty horse that allows you to gallop across Open Fields two different mission objectives you can also call your horse basically whenever you're in the air so if you're gliding you can press a button and then just jump on your horse now the aspect that team ninja is most excited about is the ingenious avicula which is the traversal option that I just call a glider but it's technically like a Wings suit almost I don't know the dude's looking like the Avatar it's freaking sweet but yeah they said that this Marvel of engineering allows you to instantly deploy a lightweight set of wings perfect for gliding through the air they said the players can Sprint across rooftops grapple to a distant height and then deploy the glider midair using the upward momentum to soar through the air you could adjust your direction speed close wings at any moment and get a stealthy drop on unsuspected enemies honestly the only thing that we're missing is raval's Gale in the vow of Tolen and we won't ever need to touch the ground if you know you know now in addition to choices of combat and traversal Styles players can also impact rise of the ronin's worlds with their actions during story missions the blog continued by saying at one point in the trailer we see the player choose to help a character named aaichi or however you pronounce that name fight a group of hostile guards this Choice helps establish a bond between the characters it lets the players get to know aaichi more deeply and unlocks the other game features and you'll be able to make these choices with additional characters such as Roma Sakamoto it was highlighted in the previous trailer they said whoever you choose to develop a relationship impacts how the story unfolds however there is no disadvantage to bonding with a character at the expense of another consider it even more variety for your next playthrough now in terms of the overall gameplay rise of the Ronin has been frequently compared to games like sakiro and ghost of sushima thanks to its melee Focus combat and use of different stances but it's also going to be compared to previous team ninja games like Neo which also pulled influence from other from software games rise of the Ronin has been described as a soulslike and most of its ssy elements are going to feel familiar especially if you're a fan of games like sakiro and Neo they're a tough to master high stakes combat game that includes a Parry system that can be used to break their stance and lead to a quick takedown this game is going to be a little bit different cuz it's not going to be as difficult but you will have to pick the right fighting stance to give you an advantage in that specific fight and of course there's going to be plenty of awesome kill animations to make the loop all more satisfying but from games like ghost of sushima you'll also have the option to approach groups of enemies stealthily while also traversing the map with a minimal heads up display which will encourage you to learn the layout of the map and pick up environmental Clues as opposed to constantly following an ion on your map now personally from everything that I've seen so far granted I've never played the game but I think this blend of ideas is a fantastic approach to a game like rise of the Ronin I think Souls like games have a tendency to either be a bit too linear or a bit too open and I think setting a Souls like game in a ghost of sushima and styed open world game is a great middle ground plus Souls like combat is like the perfect fit for this setting and the time period because it really puts an emphasis on the intense stakes and brutal intensity that comes along with it fans of games like Neo and sakiro shadows die twice will get their favorite brand of difficult to master melee combat while fans of ghost of sushima will get a nice sense of exploration as the story progresses and they're learn to deal with various threats inhabiting the game world but as I mentioned I have not played this game yet so it could be that my take is just completely awful and Rise of the Rin is just a completely unique oneof one experience but I think that's just being a little bit naive the reality is this game does look like an amalgamation of a Souls like sakiro game Ghost of sushima with a touch of the Assassin's Creed DNA all in all I think 's a very good chance the rise of the Ron and ends up being team Ninja's best game to date and that's saying a lot because they have some awesome games under their belt like ninja giden one and two like those games are some of the best tacken slash games ever made and then a game like Neo is like one of the best Souls likee games not to be made by from software rise of the Ronin is not only a collection of their best ideas but it also has a ton of great new ideas that they've never used in projects before it's also by far their biggest game to date so I'm personally excited to see what the final product looks like especially because this game is going to be an open world game I personally love open world and I loved seeing new takes on the open world action RPG genre I'm personally super hyped to see what the final product looks like and I'm fairly confident in saying that this is going to be their best game to date but what do you guys think will rise of the Ron and pull it off will it be team Ninja's best game let me know in the comment section now one concern that I've seen regarding rise of the Ronin is about the game's Graphics stating that it looks more like a PS4 game than a PS5 one and to some extent I kind of agree compared to most AAA games of the modern era rise of the Ronin does look a bit dated in terms of the textures lighting and colors but I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing gameplay isn't made any worse by the graphics not looking as polished as other big budget titles like ghost of sushima or of other games in the ninth generation consoles and as long as the game is immersive and fun I personally don't see an issue with this and frankly I think graphics work perfectly well when everything is in motion and contribute to the gritty and grounded vibe that team ninja was going for something about the older looking textures and a lack of Bright Lights makes the game feel a bit more dirty and I think that fits the tone pretty well so yeah the graphics are a bit dated by modern AAA standards but I don't actually think that's a bad thing and it definitely shouldn't hinder your hype now aside from the recent gameplay presentation at this data play the official website recently updated with a lengthy fact page about the game and it confirmed a number of new details about the game specifically in regards to how it's going to play and what we're going to be getting ourselves into on launch day now one aspect of the game that's been a bit mysterious has been the custom protagonist because we know the main character is going to be player made to some extent while the FAQ page doesn't confirm whether or not our custom character choices will impact the game story out of the gate it does however confirm that you could freely customize your character's visual features including elements like their face body shape hair voice and more another question amongst the community has been whether or not there will be multiplayer in Rise of the Ronin to which the page confirms that yes rise of the Ronin players can join up to three others to experience the game's main story missions in online co-op they said note that PlayStation Plus Membership Shi is required to play online and there is no PVP combat we also got new details about the difficulty settings that were confirmed they said rise of the Ronin includes three difficulty modes easy normal and hard referred to in game as dawn dusk and Twilight they can be changed at any time selecting Dawn unlocks additional settings including the option to increase health recovery and reduce key loss from attacks now the recent gameplay demonstrations have also confirmed that the enemy variety and Rise of the Ronin is going to be pretty impressive and featured tons of NPCs with various fighting styles and sizes with there being some giant monsters I guess popping up that you'll have to take down granted these are obviously humans they just look like they're straight from a Souls like game but regardless this nice variety will keep the game fresh and keep it from getting too repetitive and also show off team Ninja's creativity which I think is a good thing now it wouldn't be a Souls likee game without a good Perry mechanic and we recently learned a bit more about that as well by blocking at the perfect time the enemy will fall back and be temporarily staggered for you to get a free hit or possibly even an instant kill I'm sure it'll depend on the type of enemy we're talking about though it's believed that the Perry window will be a bit more forgiving on lower difficulty settings although it's also possible that the timing is the same and the enemy attacks are just simply a bit slower and just easier to see coming but it also seems that gun paries are in the game as well which I think is a pretty sweet feature and it will help projectile enemies getting too overwhelming too quick I don't know about you guys but every time I see new information about rise of the Ronin I get even more excited we've got this game coming out it's on the same day as Dragon's Dogma 2 so it's going to be a wild ride I'm not going to lie March 22nd is about to be Bonkers but I'm curious to hear what your guys' thoughts about all of this new information are you excited about it does the gameplay live up to your excitement and hype let me know in the comment section Below guys do me a favor and hit the Subscribe button if you've enjoyed
