hey everybody welcome to the video welcome to the channel my name is mike and today we are headed up to work on the abandoned bill site build site project we're actually down in the dirt perfect slot we're going to grab the hyundai hx85a with the work brow thumb we're gonna throw it on the penal hitch he does have a load of dirt on the c8500 but i gave him a call just double check it was okay to borrow it real quick tonight he said go for it so that's what we're gonna do first things first assuming since it's got the load of dirt on there it'll start but listen crazier things have happened that is west by the way it's about seven o'clock right now see if we can [Music] ah [Music] i had that rain day the other day i did take this up to my shop and uh clean it out it's dusty on the bottom again but definitely cleaner than it was looks nice a little bit of that oh just a little bit of it [Music] [Music] [Music] yep [Music] i'm not 100 sure why but i thought the fuel tank was on the other side so i just did lap for no reason yep [Music] it's right there [Music] [Music] so watch out there it's a soft spot okay all right we're out let's go get this trailer unhooked and i'll meet you guys in the morning let's just let's just go granny low let's just crawl out of here so we don't throw mud all over the road so it's a couple days later for me i wanted to do something real quick before we go up and do some work with the excavator we are down where the footbridge is going to go remember we use the water level there's the level on that side there's the mark on this side a few people asked how long of a bridge is it going to be and i honestly don't know because i i didn't measure it that day so i did go up and grab the 100 foot tape measure real quick and we'll measure that out also whenever we got hung up here at the 755 a lot of people asked how come you didn't paddle out with the bucket well backwards is not an option because you know ravine i didn't want to paddle backwards the ditch just gets worse that way and forwards wasn't an option because it's just nothing but briars and trees it was a up and over kind of situation paddling with your bucket does work really really well just not in that scenario you'll notice i'm using the lapel mic today i don't normally use a lapel mic i don't like messing with it to be honest with you but i've had a lot of comments about the microphone not picking up very well whenever i point the camera away from you like that now i run a gopro 8 in a gopro 8 media mod let's get falling on camera here we go we got it okay i run a gopro 8 and a gopro 8 media mod and that media mod automatically picks which sound it wants to listen to um and typically it goes to the loudest sound so if i'm talking on this side it's going to pick up on the front mic if i turn it around it should pick up on the back mic and it normally works really well but what i honestly think is going on with the media mod i think the cicadas are so loud that it's throwing the mic off i think the mic is confused and it doesn't know what it's supposed to be picking up so we're gonna try the medium mod today or the media mod we're gonna try the lapel mic today and see if that gives us a little bit better sound quality until these cicadas go back into hibernation or whatever it is this is gonna be my tape holder okay let's see what we've got here we're at about 24 feet that's not too crazy 24 feet we're looking at about 24 feet i actually have several dead ash trees that i kind of already have picked out that i want to use on this project that are pretty good size around people ask if i want the side-by-side tractor crossed that would be the ideal goal but we'll get whatever we get and we won't throw a fit right right let's go up to the excavator so the goal today is get some of these sycamore trees cleaned up we are going to go through these logs measure them and take a little bit of a catalog of what we have and see if any of them are worth keeping and using and we're gonna try to get all this old subfloor ripped out too along with a couple dead trees over there taken down let's start with the little trees first i didn't want a bush hog in this section because there's quite a few little oh hi there mr horse fly if you could get on out of here yep there we go there's quite a few little baby cedar trees in there and we're trying to let those cedar trees kind of stay and thrive for a little bit of privacy break so i didn't want a bush hog or mulch in there because i didn't want to lose those nice thing about these sycamores you really don't even have to run the thumb that much sycamores are a pretty flexible tree you can pretty much just wrap them around the tooth and pull them all out like so whoops [Music] that looks really nice we left those one two three sycamore trees sycamore trees aren't really good for any timber of any kind i'm sure they use them for pallets but that's probably about it but i just think they're a pretty tree honestly and for uh yard trees which is what these will be they'll be perfect a couple years with some sun on the sides of those they'll spread out canopy out real nice little cedar tree poking up right here there's a few little cedar trees poking up right here they'll have quite a bit more sun too so they'll come up fairly quick cedar trees are kind of a slow growing tree but that'd be really nice to have those evergreens across there looking real good let's do that should we do that we should do that it's all dead trees that's one of the dead trees they're really nice look at this red bud look how full this red bud is right here that looks great a couple oaks there maple there got this little tulip poplar sitting here trying to figure out which way i want to take those dead trees i don't know if i want to take him that way i want to take him that way it's not going to hurt anything if it hits that it's all a matter of what i don't want to tear up over here i suppose i really don't want to mess up this red bud it might be best just to shove them out into the woods don't want that top to break off on that oak up there and come back at me you know what i mean that would be a bad day like that yeah i was worried about that it worked out worked out fine that did exactly what i was hoping it wouldn't do the top ended up getting up in these limbs and then broke back off towards the machine ended up falling that way which worked fine but i don't want to risk it with that one a little bit bigger so i think the safest thing to do honestly is just aim right down that hole which is well that's the old foundation not gonna hurt anything though i'd rather hurt that old foundation to hurt the machine [Applause] that that could not have gone any better it fell right down on the side of this little red butt so it didn't cause any damage to it and it fell right next to that little tuna poplar out there as well i missed everything you wanted to miss i didn't tear anything up that is as good as it gets right there i remember where my drone's at so i don't smack it where you guys sitting right now i know oh i thought that break david i don't want to smack you guys with the tree [Applause] come off there please thank you oh we're just gonna set this stuff over here for now you'll notice we're not burning anything today it is dry not only is the ground dry but the air is very dry as well it's not very humid so not a very good day to be burning next to the woods separate plastic the best we can but it's been out here so long plastic's pretty much turned for nothing so i don't know there's gonna be little bits and pieces in the burn file there's just no way probably throw all this stuff in the inside pipes [Music] [Music] [Music] so so uh i'm gonna pull these little bitty stumps that are in the gravel right here and i'm gonna run the tractor around with pulverizer and just kind of try to polish everything up a little bit then we'll move on to those logs that's the plan anyway i could pull those with the pulverize over there they're not good brake yeah all right tractor time [Music] [Music] [Music] so you can see where they've been stacked together they've been laying in that pile or they've had contact with each other they're just they're that but i get solid about there let's get a few more laid out here they are tagged but they've been out in the weather so long no you sly they're smart enough to write the numbers on the back side of the tags okay well interest i don't know what that means for us because i don't know how many of these are going to be able to be used but that is interesting now let's roll out to release it this one's really bad shape case if they're all tagged on the back like that yeah they sure are a12 okay like i said you can see where they're in direct contact with each other but they're not mean there's soft spots for sure like there you can see some of them have the dovetail ends and you got just like this that would be where a door or a window opening would be and they just cut into it this was just yeah some of these are going to be complete losses that's for sure so so here's the pile i ended up with now some of these are pretty rough some of even the ones i saved are pretty rough but i'm hoping you know kind of maybe further in the log it's not too bad it is really cool that we found the numbers d2 on the back oops on the back of these tags but it's not really doing good for us because we're not going to be able to use all these logs here's my optimistic and i think realistic goal for the logs that we have whenever we do this if we take those logs and we build an interior wall here from this corner to that corner so you can see both sides of the logs there obviously on this room you just see this side in the corner but you'd be able to see both sides of the log there as an interior dividing wall i think that would be a really cool way to try to save a little bit of that history again this log cabin is at least over a century old if not older than that it was up on this hill before they did the development the developer took it down did tag it and had planned on rebuilding it here on a new foundation that plant fell through and they've been sitting here for as you can tell sometime and i'm just trying to save a few of these logs because it's just it's a part of this hilltop why wouldn't a fella try to save a little bit of history of this hilltop so hopefully we can salvage enough to do that that's a pretty short span and i'm fairly optimistic we can do so my plan for these now they've got lots of airflow there's lots of space in there i'm just going to leave them open like this and let them air out for well for a while probably probably a couple months at least to let them get dry i am going to leave them open to the elements for now because i'm hoping the rain washes some of this stuff off i'm pretty positive a few more months of rain on top of these aren't going to make them much worse than what they are now and if anything like i said it'll help clean them off a little bit and get that dirt off there they'll help dry a little bit better too i am excited i'm optimistic enough that i feel like we can get a wall from that point to that point it's not a huge dividing wall i think we can get enough picked out of there to do so lots of airflow though which is good that's how they should have been stored honestly i wish i had something more narrow than what the 2x4 is but that's what i've got laying around and with lumber prices i'm not about to go buy stickers that's for sure i guess i could have ripped them down but you know who's got time for that i do want to grab measurements off this off this uh footer real quick so i can take record of that and then chelsea and i can start brainstorming kind of layout we want to do in here obviously there's still some hand work to do inside but i'm down to the last 20 minutes i've got today to get this done so we're not doing that today 12 6 on that wall handy thing about youtube is i don't even have to write this down i just have to go back and watch this video it's like 12 6 on that wall too close to it anyway this is a little over 20 feet okay 1710 okay it's almost the 20th and if you've been on youtube for a while you know 20th is youtube payday so that means it won't be long and we'll be back on the youtube yacht project back on that site we'll be able to get the stone ordered be able to get all the plumbing picked up and the waterproofing so we get the backfill done around the backside of youtube yacht get the subgrade plumbing in that will go beneath the concrete floor and then get that all backfilled and ready for concrete so that's pretty exciting that'll be coming up soon as well we said in the beginning the whole reason we went ahead and got this property is it give us something to work on while we're waiting for revenue on the youtube yacht project to come in and aside from the 40 water level and fuel in that and fuel in the 755 we haven't really spent anything yet i think we've got a lot of progress done for the amount that we've spent so far so i'm pretty happy with that very happy with that in fact i hope the lapel mic worked okay today i'm not going to wear this every time i'm just not mainly mainly because of this right here they get snagged on everything that gets pretty old pretty quick i may look at getting a wireless mic at some point in the future but right now it's just not in the budget we'll see how it goes in the long run though go ahead and get my tools picked up this is where the snake's at in it this is gonna be where it's at you know it's been a good day let's let's just not we'll do that another day let's not risk it let's finish this thing off with some drone flights i hope you guys enjoyed the video i hope you're enjoying all the projects like i said we'll be back on the youtube yacht project probably in the next two weeks which i'm real excited about there's gonna be some more dirt perfect stuff coming up because everything's starting to dry out pretty nice so hopefully we can uh we can get on the palm project pretty soon and if you guys have been following dirt perfect on his instagram page you know that he picked up something pretty awesome which means you know maybe one of the dozers will be freed up now and we can start working on the pond repair and i'm pretty excited about that as well as always thanks for watching we'll catch you on the next one [Music] you
