these days rigging made simple with add-ons  like "Regify" and "Auto Rig Pro (ARP)" today   we're gonna look at the regify add-on in order to  rig a character regify is a built-in add-on inside   the blender but in order to use that you need to  activate it to do so go to the edit preferences   add-ons and search for rigify you just need to  check the box and enable the rigify then in order   to rig your character press "shift+A" Armature  you have two types of human rigs, "human meta rig"   with detail face rig and another one is in the  basic and basic human meta rig this rig doesn't   have the fingers and the face rig but in order to  keep this tutorial simple we're going to use this   rig select the rig press "S" to scale it down to  your model then press "Ctrl+A" and apply the scale   we do that in order to set the scale of the rig  to 1 because of the scale will be anything other   than one in order to weight painting and making a  rig for this skeleton we have some problems okay   then click on the rig again go to the object data  viewport display and check "in front" and now with   the rig selected go to the edit mode go to the  front view and adjust your rig just remember to   select rigs like this with selection box if you  just click on one rig and move it sometimes the   rig gets separated like this and you get an  error when you're trying to weight paint and   create a rig from this skeleton, always box  select the joints in order to prevent the further   error okay let's place the bones and check the "X"  button in order to activate symmetry for your rig. [Music] this little rig is a heel pivot so make sure to  place it on the heels, and these bones placed   somewhere around here in the outer edge of the  body and make sure to look the rig in every   other angle to make sure everything is in place  the next step we need to do go to the object   mode again click the rig click on the "generator  rig" now we have a rig let's hide this skeleton   then click the character and shift-click the rig "Ctrl+P" and select Armature deform with automatic   weights okay now with the rig selected go to  the pose mode and select the part of the rig   just move it as you can see the head hair  teeth and eyes don't move with the rig   it's due to the fact that we didn't select  these meshes when we did weight painting   with the auto weight paint okay to do  that go back to the object mode select   every mesh and "Ctrl+P" and auto weights  again select the rig go to the pose mode everything is just fine if you rotate the head  you can see some deformation in the hair it's   because you need to have a separate rig for the  hair but for now for basically it's just perfect everything just fine that's it for this short  guide how to rig with the rigify if you like   the video please consider liking the video and  subscribing to the channel more videos like this   tutorials on the characters rigging animation  and Archviz is going to get uploaded so please   subscribe to the channel in order to inform  when I upload new videos thank you bye bye [Music]
