Rick Perry blasts Biden's assault on American energy independence

all right gas of the pump aaa regular gasoline in the pump average three dollars and 28 cents today nationwide it's up 50 from a year ago crude oil about 81 bucks today a year ago it was 40. so it's a double why is this because you know consumers and middle-class families are suffering from this energy shock joining us now rick perry former energy secretary former texas governor thank you mr secretary captain perry we appreciate it very much so first of all one question we were putting out about 13 million plus barrels per day of oil pre-pandemic and now secretary as you know we're still hovering around 11. despite the fact that economic demand has recovered the pandemic you know businesses have reopened we're still only pumping 11. we're going to saudi arabia hat in hand and am i right that that's one of the big factors driving up gasoline prices is that right i mean we're just not pumping anymore yeah i i think it's the issue the biden administration tried to stop drilling in the gulf a judge stepped in and that's going to get back to production but it really delayed some projects uh this november that we'll get back to going i mean the message is clear out of the biden administration we don't like fossil fuels we want to transition everything to renewables and if you want to know the end of that story just look to europe larry that's what's happened over there they've gone you know all woke and done away with all of their uh fossil fuel gone completely to well i won't say completely but transition to wind and to solar and listen i'm a supporter of those two but the real issue is if you're going to have a ready diversified supply of energy you got to have an all of the above policy that's lng that's fossil fuels you can have wind and solar with that when the wind blows and the sun shines but the fact is this administration i i think this is a plan larry if you want to know the truth of the matter aoc kind of let the the cat out of the bag or her chief of staff did some time back when the individual said that that this whole climate change issue that this administration is basing all of this on if you want to know the truth it's not about the climate it's about wealth redistribution so americans need to really think about you know what is the strategy here that the biden administration is putting into place and it's not all this warm and fuzzy oh we love the climate thing it's wealth redistribution that these marxists want to put into place and i hope that will make people devoted for biden who may have thought this guy was really going to be the the uh the be all to end all to really step back and go wait a minute we have been completely and totally uh boogered on this deal you know i think the greenies who populate by the administration and the democratic party they're radical greenies they want higher prices of oil and natural gas and gasoline you know me think they protest too much rick perry because they think that's going to bring in uh you know the so-called renewables and by the by your point about europe so the winds stop blowing in the north sea and so now the united kingdom is playing astronomical natural gas and gasoline prices and so is germany they all go back to coal a pox on all their house they wind up with coal which in some sense is the worst of the fossils so larry the the key from my perspective is you know if you were just to go ask this administration would it be a great idea if we just transitioned over all to electric vehicles they would go oh absolutely it's our dream come true well do you know how massive the grid would have to be to handle that much electricity to uh to power that many and guess where that's going to come from it's going to come from fossil fuels it makes no sense when the american people really get the facts they're going to stand back and go no more biden we we've had enough of you so here's i'm just looking at here's what they're sending out rick [Music] grant home at the energy department i know you don't want to beat up on your successor but she floated a rumor about stopping the price increases in gasoline with the strategic petroleum reserve then we have administration officials on background right they're not going to say this publicly they think there's price fixing going on now that is such you know that's as old as methuselah the price fixing argument then they're still yelling at opec plus saudi plus uh and russia um everything but dealing with the reality that we don't have enough supply to meet demand and prices are going up but we have the oil and gas resources to do it i mean they'll do anything this is craziness don't pay attention to the little man behind the curtain that's the game that they're playing that's right we are the number one oil and gas producing country in the world leave our entrepreneurs alone stop shutting down pipelines and americans can drive at a reasonable amount this administration is going to drive the cost of food drive the cost of anything that has to be transported plus your own personal transportation costs through the roof it's coming and until americans stand up and say stop it they're going to continue doing it you know we've even the last point of all the things gone wrong i mean they've done this you know what at eight months nine months that's not an easy thing to do to wreck and pretty much market segments it's the only thing that they've actually done successfully yeah and look at the results so now we're actually imp we're back to importing oil rick perry we were exporting oil and they don't even want us to export oil but as i understand it exporting all was good for our producers because they could crank it up and get it out there um but now we're back to importing so we're reliant on who the middle east and the russians i thought that was not good for our national security not to mention opening up the nordstrom 2 pipeline shutting down the keystone pipeline in the in north america i mean it is it reminds me i think i mentioned this the other day on one of the programs the keystone cops we're old enough you and i to remember that that old silent movie uh uh comedic act but this administration is the keystone cops if you will not only did they shut down that pipeline in a in a comedic uh way if you will from the standpoint of of i mean if it wasn't if it wasn't so drastic for the american people it would be hilarious but they're hurting americans people who voted for joe biden are paying a huge price at the pump at the cost of food in other places and inflation is going to eat them alive yeah i kind of think of laurel and hardy in my youth laurel and hardy you got to really go back a ways for that but i'll tell you this secretary rick perry save america kill the bill save america and kill the bill amen brother and that's coming from the sage of the west wing as we always refer to you brother
