what we're going to make here is like rice porridge which you also called kji in China it's the most eaten breakfast in China it's comparable with like the oatmeal porridge what you have in the west of course instead of Oats we are using the most common grain in China which is like rice what we're going to do with this rice is I have here about 250 GRS of rice we're going to rinse it and we're going to put water in here and then we're going to like start boiling it until it become a porridge so let's move to the kitchen and we're going to prepare like the rice porridge or conji what we going to do now is we're going to rinse the rice three times going to rinse it on the cold water and then we're going to cook the rice all we have here is the 250 g of rice what we're going to do is rinse it on the water we're going to rinse it like three times just going going to like add water in here and just going to like rinse it and then pour the water away then add water in it again pour the water away again water here so the rice is now ready to be cooked I'm going to prepare it for the coni and boil with water what we're going to do is make the cook the conji so we have here the rinsed rice what we going to do with the rice which we have rinsed we're going to put it into the pan so just going to put it into the pan good everything is in the pan in the rice what we're going to add is water so for 250 g of rice we're going to add in 2 and 1/2 L of water so it's 1 to 10 so 10 G of rice you going to add in like 100 m of water so 250 g of rice we're going to add in 2 and 1/2 L of water what we're going to do is like bring it to the boil so bring it to the boil and occasionally Stir It Don't Put a lid on the rice porridge because it will boil over yeah so just no lid on the pot just leave it as it is occasionally stir it we're going to cook it for about 20 minutes and then we're going to leave it for 30 minutes in the pan to steam so the COI is cooking now for 20 minutes what we're going to do is we're going to put a lid on and cover it and let it Steam for another 30 minutes the cooking time of the conji might differ from like the VAR variety of the rice you're using and the heating source and like the pan so back home you might be increasing it with 5 to 10 minutes so 25 to 30 minutes but here we're going to like boil for 20 minutes and we're going to put the lid on and switch off the heat and let it Steam for 30 minut minutes so the conji or the rice porridge has been in the pan now for 30 minutes what we're going to do is we going to surf it so we're going to give it a stir first and then we're going to like put it in the small bowls you can serve it on in the hotels in the big pan so you don't really need to serve them out already in like these smaller bowls and people can do it thems guest can do them himself so you just like spoon it into smaller bowls and people will eat this for breakfast in China
