I don't even know
what just happened. There is no way
that is possible. All right. Oh, my gosh, he-- - Oh!
- What? Come on! This is a game for children! [MUSIC PLAYING] What's up? I'm Andre.
- And I'm Meghan. And today we're
going to be playing Disney's "The Lion King." Yes. Meghan, do you
remember the first time you ever played this game? Do I ever? I was a kid, and I
basically got halfway through beating the game, and
then the video store was like, ma'am, you need to return this. It is, like, two weeks late. I rented it from the
video store as well, and I didn't get
past the hippos. Well, I'm gonna see if I can
get further today, because I've been playing it a little
bit since it came out with "Aladdin," the re-release. Oh, so you're fresh?
You're good? You're good to go?
You're practiced? Something just-- You have no excuses. We'll find out. We're going to play right now. Disney's "The Lion King." Let's get into it. Into the game. And now we're in the Pride
Lands, and look at Simba. Aw. I love that he looks
at the butterfly. Yeah. So we got our little-- we gotta collect our
little bugs here. Slimy yet satisfying. Mm. More protein. So these guys, you
gotta yell at them first. Yeah, 'cause they're pokey. Rawr. Uh-oh.
- Uh-oh. It's about to-- oh, my gosh. Andre!
- Good. Got him.
We got him. There we go. You know "Lion
King" was the very first movie I saw in theaters? - Really?
- Yeah, I used my allowance
to pay for the ticket. Oh, nice. It was an incredible moment. Here we go. Jump! Oh-- Can I jump into
that monkey's arms? Uh-- OK. So little pro tip--
- Will it catch me? Will it love me? Go-- will it give you a hug? Gymnastics time, boys. Let's go. ANDRE: [VOCALIZING] Will I stick the landing? Oh, boy. Oh, no.
Oh, my goodness. - OK.
- OK. OK, I can jump.
- Yep. You can jump. You can also-- oh-- jump. Oh! OK. Yeah, you got this. You got it.
Yeah. There you go.
- Oh-- Get that one-- Get up! [SHOUTING] Andre! [LAUGHTER] I'm sorry. Are you crying? No. Of course not. There's no crying
in "The Lion King." Well, except for certain parts.
- Stop! Stop! Stop! Oh, there's a little sun-- [LAUGHTER] Are you OK, man? No, Simba, don't-- don't pay
attention to the butterfly. We gotta concentrate. You think I got it? Yeah. [LAUGHTER] I'm sorry, Rafiki. I know. I know. It's been six hours now. I know, yeah. We're on level two.
We're making great progress. I know. Day 27 of "The Lion King." Still wearing the
same clothes we came in. Yeah. We both have long beards. Like, just-- - It's like, a pink one, though.
- Yes. Yes. - With little butterfly clips.
- Yes. Got it.
You got it. - No!
- Oh-- OK, you're still safe. You're still safe. You're still safe. No! No! This is when Mom would
come in and be like, "Sweetie, you got a twitch in your eye."
- Yeah. "Let's get you some orange
slices." Yep. This is the one
that's going to work. Because if it doesn't-- [SPLASH] I mean, that was not-- I have a trick up my sleeve. Oh! Yeah. So in this version of "The
Lion King," which also comes with "Aladdin," they do have
a rewind feature because they realize that it might be
difficult for some gamers, like us-- \Andre, this is crazy. There's more to the game. Yeah. Duck. Jump. OK. Duck-- jump! Jump! Yes! They knew we were
renting these games. They were like, we're
to make sure that if you rent this game, you-- we're going to make it
challenging for you to get far. I understand what's
going on here. Yeah, well, when we were
kids, you had a window. Oh, I did it! Yay! Yay! We beat the level! Woo! We beat the level! We made it! Now we're in the
elephant graveyard. Ooh, this is spooky town. He's-- oh, my gosh.
Oh! Shoot! You gotta get out of there, man. This is not safe. No! Really rewinding this one, guys. Yeah. I don't know what
happened there. I got that bug.
- Mistakes were made. Honestly, I'm starting
to feel like we're getting out of control here. Yes. We're, like, doing
the rewind too much. OK, so we're going
to-- we're going to now try to play it straight. Oh, there you go.
You got it. You got it. Look at you! Woo! Oh-- Look at you go down that hole. You got it.
You got it. No! You got it. And as soon as you go the
other way, you totally got it. No! OK, maybe not. Remember that one time
when we said, hey, let's not use the rewind? Yeah. And then-- and
then I started-- Oh, wait, you
went too far back. Scar, it's all your fault! He's like, "I
programmed this level. I made it--" oh,
no, the stampede! No! [SHOUTING] Where's my dad? Stop. Come on-- [CHEERING] Kill him. OK, wait, what's
happening here? Simba's Exile? Oh, did they skip the scene? Yep, sad part. They skipped the sad part? All right, watch out,
there's gonna be an-- oh-- Oh! There's also a boulder. This is where I left off. Oh, this is-- this
is how far you got? The nostalgia.
The feels. Oh-- I've never
gotten this far. I've never done this!
MEGHAN: You got it! Oh, my gosh. Oh, my goodness. When does it end? Where are we going? I don't know! I'm trying! I'm trying! No, we're going down! No! No!
OK. Yes.
Yes. Yes! Yes! [SINGING] OK. I'm taking a break. Hold on. Guys-- what? Oh-- just wait for
him to do his yoga pose. There we go. Yeah.
Yeah! See what happens
when you throw a fit? That's what happens
when you monkey around. Oh, my gosh! We grew up! Oh, my gosh! Yay! Can you feel the love tonight? Yes, exactly. I think you're feeling this. This is not good. This is my little happy dance. Do you like that? - Yeah, I like it.
- It's my little trot. - Little trot?
- Right. - Oh--
- Are you prepared? I'm going to try to be. That's probably-- that's
probably nacho cheese. not lava. Oh. One can only hope. - Simba's lactose intolerant.
- Bat. There it is. Oh, no. Really? The great and mighty Simba
cannot be taken out by a bat. You want to take
on Simba's return? Um, sure. [LAUGHTER] Andre. What? I didn't do it. I just-- everything is bad. There are hyenas everywhere. We need Pumbaa. We need Pumbaa to come over. We need Timon and
Pumbaa to come over. Oh, my gosh! When I'm in try-hard mode-- Yeah? I do this with my lips. I go like this. Yeah? I have no idea. Nice. But I think it
gives me powers. Or-- It does nothing. They're not impressed. You're not king yet. I believe this
is the last level. [SHOUTING] Oh? Oh, he's gone. MEGHAN: Oh! There's-- Oh. The mood, the scene. Everything about this
is scaring me right now. I mean, lightning
is striking around-- Lightning is striking. And catching dirt on fire? Can you blow on it? Try and roar on it. Rawr! [LAUGHTER] Nothing happened. Go away, fire. Level one all over again. Scar-- run away! Push him back. Never return! Get him! Get him with that dialogue! Oh, he's tired.
He's tired. Get him! No! Yeah! [ROARING] Yes! We did it! I wanna do my little
baby Simba roar. Yee! Everything's going to
grow back the way it was. Circle of life. Then Rafiki comes in. Rafiki's going to come in. And Timon and Pumbaa. Yeah. We did it! Oh, my gosh. We beat the game. We beat the game! That was all it took! Yes! Wow. I can't believe we did it. I can. That was amazing! That feels so good. Yeah. After playing this game back
in the day, to come back to it years later and actually see
the entire game in full-- We had a really good
tag team thing going, too. We did.
I think so. Thanks for watching us, guys. Again, I'm Meghan. I'm Andre, and
we hope you enjoyed this nostalgic throwback
to this classic retro game. And it's now available, so
try it out for yourself. If we beat it, so can you! That's right. I am a wreck. That was great. That was exhilarating.
- Yeah. I'm sweaty. So fun.
[INAUDIBLE] I feel like I got an ab
workout from tensing up. Yeah, and now I
gotta get some snacks. [MUSIC PLAYING]
