I checked this out. Researchers in Peru just unveiled a set of 39 million year old fossils what could be the heaviest animal to ever live. The blue whale has held that title for a long time, and while it still might be the longest per cutest colossus or the colossal whale from Peru may have actually weighed more. Each one of the whales back vertebrae weighed over 200 pounds and the ribs measured almost 5 feet long. Paleontologists have calculated the massive whale weighs somewhere between 95. And 375 tons. It's quite a differential. The largest blue whales found have been within that range, but top out about 200 tons. They also estimate that the body would have had to be between 60 and 70 feet long. That's big.
