Rescuing a barn find E30 M3 and other German treasures - WB & Sons

[Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] we're heading to Washington just outside Newcastle we've got a large Warehouse to sift through there's some really interesting cars in there so I want to film what we're doing we've got trucks trailers Vans Charlie's angry Land Rover with a big winch on it Toby's got himself a hat with a light on so we're gonna go and see what we can find we've had a brief look around but it is caked in dust about two inches thick the cars have been in there a long time we're going to see what we can pull out if you're into your German cars keep watching this because this is going to be really interesting alright so Toby's got his hat I'm fine [Music] you are this is the building just outside your Castle it's been like this for a long long time um obviously the good stuff's inside which we'll get to in a second we'll show you just how deep that is um but the first job is to get these cars moved out the way unfortunately things like this E36 and the Volvo are a bit too far gone to save so they'll unfortunately be going off to be recycled so the first job is going to be dragging those out the way they're going to get high abdon and gone got Parts absolutely everywhere as you can see this is the route apparently at the door we've got looks like a Corrado Ford or Corrado come on June's a Jetta Jetta even we're sorry these are all gonna be awesome E46 just to get to the door we've got a a two-door gold CL but again there's nothing left of it it's a moss Farm Really um these are the ones that are kind of heartbreaking so there's knee 30. it's a state a two-door Mark III GTI 16 valve um but like I said there's nothing left of them they're just gonna have to go off to the uh the scrap yard in the sky unfortunately this is your current only route into the building for now fall down and this is the current state inside it's just absolutely filled with parts I promise you there's some cars in here the first job is to start digging around and work out what we can get out of the way there's Wheels there's doors I mean there's I've never seen too many doors ecu's engines I need 36 here but again possible so we need to work out what we've got that's the first car then we'll get some shutters up we'll get some light in here we'll see what there is um but there is a very special BMW and a couple of special America here which we will dig out there the main focus of what we're looking at and behind this pile here there's two to get dug out from under there oh we don't even know what they are yet we do I've been over we've got a Corrado and we've got a golf Charlie's over there at the back somewhere yeah Marco hold up so let's start pulling all the stuff out in front of the shutter get that open work out what the plan is from there [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] towards getting out is this stash back here we've got a 190 Cosmos I believe there's two of them in here Mark two goals and most importantly I appreciate it's dark that's the one we want more than anything E30 M3 we have had a VIN check on it as a real one I believe it might be a slightly special one as well but we're gonna have to get it out through all of that to get anywhere near it to work out what we've got um but everything does seem to look right front bumpers right side skirts obviously the rear wide arches you can't see anything on this camera they're being so dark but we will dig I don't have a problem foreign [Music] ER get some daylight on it E36 Coupe Alpine White sunflowers which is nice it is a 2.8 obviously very dusty there is a dent in the roof but it does look they all pop straight out which is nice unfortunately it is an automatic but that's not the end the world the dash is out but we have I think we found the dash there is a spoiler that looks like it's going to go on in a top high level spoiler headlining door cards all that sort of stuff in it keys are in it as well which makes life a lot easier but actually Body Weight Wise whole thing looks to be very clean do a little bit of a BMW test on it not much of a toolkit it's kind of failed on that one but generally arches and all the usual sort of scary areas down this here all really nice and tidy actually contact if there's a torch because there is no glue box so it's not going to be there is it um but yeah I set a Michelin sort of Road Track Tires as well so yeah that's the first one we've got out we're gonna go and try and pull the next one out we've got those two loaded on one of the wagons and get them out the way [Music] so we cleared all the wheels out the way to reveal the one we were looking for so E30 M3 like we said earlier on but this is the interesting bit heartco barge on it Hawker what looks like the Hawker Wheels body kit a few of the bits and bobs um so obviously we need to get out and I'll probably look at it it's missing the grill but I've already seen that somewhere um it looks to be in nice solid condition everything in here is dry we will go through everything we pulled out but more importantly that's the one worth pulling out and have a look at I'll do it in Charlie [Music] the tier is fantastic [Music] we've got a good lead on where the keys are it's I mean it's the one that we had on our kids wouldn't it I think I think they made Seven right hand right seven UK Harkers this was a UK car from new I have looked at it so we've got Harker you can't really see too much on the camera we have got hardcore strip race and a few other bits of mobs I mean we need to get it back and have a proper pour over it um we were talking to one of the neighbors apparently this car with the temporary fuel tank would run the fuel pump and I have a look at the boot there was a fuel pump in the booty scene as far as the aware of strawberry on the car is and it needed a new fuel pump and light that was parked up here he thinks nine to ten years ago he's not too sure it could have been longer I'd say we've got the grill there so we're going to gently put on some skater just gently bring it back out in the sunlight we've got I mean we'll go through them all in one go but we've got water air Mark II two two door down the bottom another Mark two two door another Mark 2 2 door all 16 valve gtis a 190 Cosworth there's a 190 with a few of the bits and Bobs another Mark two two door another Mark two two apparently that one's got a two liter turbo this was an E46 in Boston green coupe well when we started this business this is the stuff that we thought we'd be doing every day and apparently behind there somewhere there is two more cars so stay tuned yeah it's out first time we've seen daylight in about a decade I believe first uh First Look I think it does have all of the right signs of that Hawker kit Hawker set obviously gonna have to get it cleaned up we're not one for this leaving it as a barn fine kind of nonsense it's got to be cleaned up so we can see what we're dealing with but so far so good four flat tires of course they are E30 M3 Toby's gonna get the Bonnet open we did have a look at the dark house so again I'm trying to see in the dark but we've got the hardcore straw brace obviously it has got the correct um engine we do need to do some research on that Harker thing so we will keep you updated on that one are they our first time at it engine bay seen daylight in about 10 years keep pulling them out get them all back to base they're two out and loaded so this is a two-door uh 16 valve GTI on a g big bumper car again this dust sort of turning a bit horrible with the rain um really nice interior in this one we've got 120 000 miles nice and original not messed with headlight and sucking a little bit um but generally of the gtis I think this might be the best one so far we do have a good set of wheels to go on that then we've got this one which is uh B register so an early one GTI red no sunroof which is nice um if we get a little look under here I think there's something relatively interesting under here no there is one with a 180 where I tried to find that one put those back on save this flying off on the motorway again that's your cleaner to be a pretty honest car this one has been caged I think as well so it's it's got some track work and it's passed by the looks of things okay the next two pull that loaded up [Music] Mercedes 190 cosmith as you can see this one's missing a few bits we do have the front bumper a few bits to go with it we'll leave the heads off but the head is supposed to be in the booth one of Charlie's favorite cars dog leg gearbox it's got a nice uh slightly extra body kit on it as well um but mostly engine parts seem to be in the boot which is nice head is there so it's always a good sign nice that it makes life a lot easier with a sort of clothes to complete ones aren't ready to be loaded [Music] the cars back on our site now various States some of them are complete some of them are not some of them have got keys some don't we've managed to find some bumpers for some of the golfs some uh some wings grills seats Wheels um so that's just that it's what just after seven now so that's 11 hours on the job we're absolutely minion um bucket in the morning start cataloging them start cleaning them well uh we'll keep you update from there so it's a morning after yesterday's Mama's job of getting all these cars pulled out obviously the Star of the day was this E30 M3 we do believe that the hardcore bits to be correct but we are going to confirm that um first job of the day people always go on with barn finds garage phones that sort of stuff about do you clean it do you not for me you need to know what you're buying so first job of the day window water tank it looks to be like all the seals every year good get it outside um got James available coming here give the thing a full bath proper wash get it all cleaned off good evening because there is a very thick layer of dust and then we can see what we're working with how to work [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] okay everything cataloged cleaned bits and Bobs put together so some of the car so I may say for example they're missing here from bumper or they're missing a wheel Arch we've managed to piece them all together as we've went um and we're just starting to get them sort of cleaned up looking like cars again we'll go through a quick recap of what we've actually got um as they're sort of all coming off the trailers and things like that they're all getting cleaned down so this one Mark II 16 valve Golf GTI um two-door said a couple of little mods it's got wheels single headlamp conversion um it is missing one key part I.E the engine but as a shell it's a very usable solid clean tidy shell interior wise it does have full leather as well which is a nice touch um it's had some work done on the dash that sort of stuff but again someone wanting to a new a nice new tidy shell rather than repairing an old one maybe they want to build a track car who knows the possibilities there so that's a good one to start with and we've got this red again two-door 16 valve it's nearly one on a b um this one we have some different interior stuff going on here so full safety devices cage no other interior other than that um we've got grills and things to go with it it's got isolators on it it's on steel wheels at the moment it's got quite a big anti-roll bar in the back Thursday obviously still waiting to be cleaned up got an Alpine weight which is double rare on a on a 36 Coupe Sport E36 sunflowers uh three two eight I this one um automatic it is missing the top of the dash we've had this one firing so we're probably gonna be able to get this one running um and it does come with some Motorsport spoilers and things like that Corrado 16 valve um we've managed to get power to it more importantly the spoiler goes up and down so we're halfway there uh relatively standard complete looking car again like I say as we go we sort of pulled the parts that we think are going with each car but we'll sort of piece them together and make them look more like a car this one um if you're into your golf you may actually know this car it was historically it was a 1.8 Turbo 180 um quite well known on YouTube those sort of places it's been everywhere cool in Europe by the looks of things kind of full safety devices cage it's got what looks to be 180 clocks in there it's missing the seat on this one we'll pull the Bonnet we'll have a quick look in here this is quite a nice one to look at we'll uh get some dodgy camera we're going we'll get that lifted up another look well I say that was making that look very difficult um so like I say it was a 180 there is the remnants of a VR6 sat there obviously not Martin just placed in but shell wise nice solid shell it's got some dings and dents from some track work we're generally pretty solid huge anti-roll bar on the back straw braces all that sort of stuff we've got a 190 with a body kit on there um and what looks to be a manual conversion and then a 190 Cosworth manual with the nicer interior I think again looks to be a complete card most the front ends missing off here but we do have that so we're going to put that back together engines in there the head is off with the cams they're all in the boot so again that can be mostly piece back together into a relatively complete car skips at somebody at some point someone's had a bit of fun with the key on the side there and we've got this which out of all the golfs I think might be my favorite two-door was a 16 valve um now has a 180 in it a single headline conversion it's got compromatives on it loads of suspension work done underneath custom interior it's very sort of mid-2000s max power the sort of Alcantara and half other interior new headlining all that sort of stuff guessing at some point it was a bit of an animal because you don't put a metal trim over the top of the exhaust on something that doesn't pop huge flames they're going to very nice sort of together looking car that will come back together really well we've got the rear Arch all that sort of stuff for it a little bit of rust popping up in places but generally a really cool car and then over here we've got bright red Corrado VR6 one of the neighbors did tell me that apparently at some point this car was supercharged that's not there anymore again spoiler works on this one generally a pretty solid car again a little bubble here and there interior one's a good clean which we'll do but it all seems to be there and then we also have a Mark III four-door GTI color concept so that's if you don't know what they are they came as a bit of a special edition slightly different interior uh the color concept on the seats on this half leather these were body colored so if you had a blue car you have blue seats red car red seats quite a cool thing again that's waiting to be offloaded and cleaned up and if we go inside the building we've got a couple more in here so another Mark II two two door 16 valve uh condition wise this is probably the most original standard four amp Grille which for me is the way to go it is on steel wheels but there is a full set of allies in the boot interior nice and complete I mean you want to go clear which we'll do but generally condition wise very very good 120 000 miles nice solid looking car would make a nice car again quite easily and then finally we have on the studio it's already been prepped up it's already been cleaned up ready for photographs in the video if you check the website we'll do a full uh 30 to 40 photos would have put the description on what we know about the cars and more importantly you get a 10 to 15 minute walk around video that shows you every inch of the car every bump every scrape every little batch of rest everything we can possibly see we've got the keys on these cars and we can get them running we'll get them started up if we don't have the keys we will tell you um but for me this is the uh the total star of the show it's a complete Beamer freak this was always the one on the wall when you were a kid E30 M3 it is a standard M3 it's not an EVO one or two but it does have the full Harker pack so that's like a wheels and suspension the additional bit of the bump the bumpers the body kit the uh the two level spoiler which again is so iconic on those M3s you saw them on the evos things like that local car as well which is nice in for me probably the best color the interior has come out really nice so again more Harker bits in there you've got the steering wheel kick plates it's uh 75 000 miles on this one seats I've got a little bit of wear but generally very very good headlining is lovely really really nice thing if we pull the Bonnet as well more harder bits in there so you get um the hardest drop brace and they normally get and we need to verify that we need they normally get a 40 break horsepower upgrade over the standard car but again that lovely Harker strawberry is all the really nice Wells on it generally looks to be correct with all that hardcore pack um we will continue to do some more research on that and verify that a couple of little bits and Bobs as a whole here and a bit of scoping around the sunroof but again check that walk around video we'll go through every inch of the car in that sense but if you saw it earlier on in the video compared to now cleaned it really really well so yeah they're all
