so we're going to do a quick little first look at this camera and yeah i'm going to try to be quick on this one because i'm not going to do a full in-depth thing right away as this camera is just releasing but we will have a few video clips we'll show you towards the end of all the different modes and whatnot and yeah you may be looking at this thing with some funny looks but maybe not as funny as the looks that i get when i wear this shirt at the grocery store for the past year which i'm not sure why i don't know let's check out this dual lens duo real link camera yep hopefully are they prepared for us hope they got their codec issues fixed let's see if we can get this bad boy out let's pick up the camera all right so we got your little patch cable that's standard drill there and your little weatherproof boot if you've watched a bunch of videos or didn't seen cameras before that's standard drill stuff and a plastic bracket yep definitely plastic so they give you a metal okay let's see how this goes maximum 1.5 kilograms of coke no not coke camera so the camera looks like it has a mounting hole here and another mount here i did cover up my serial just in case so no one would try to pair it with their app it says dc 12 volt this is poe just regular poe 802.38f so standard power over ethernet for the ones that don't know basically you can power this and the data comes over the ethernet cable now they do have a wi-fi version and i believe they also have a cellular module version i don't have the sailor one yeah so just the micro sd card slot and then there's a little pin hole for the reset to do factory defaults if you forget your password or whatever so i'm curious to see how they've done this because you got to think about a lot of apps and stuff are not prepared for a crazy wide image i mean a lot of cameras are either going to be 4x3 which is kind of like your standard likely old-school standard definition tvs even though they are like 5 megapixel there they'll be 4x3 almost square and you have 16x9 which is your wide screen can i have a really wide angle view i know it kind of looks like a a bug i mean let's see who's gonna put a little white smiley face i need a white sticker and we can put a little smiley face on it right that'd be perfect so it's gonna have the looks like a warm white and cool white leds i don't think it's going to have ir i don't we'll find out we'll see how the night vision works i'm very curious looks like this is a probably a lock sensor right there to see if it's day or night or storm or whatever it may be this is a metal front the back appears to be type of plastic maybe i don't have a magnet or anything near me but i won't be pulling this apart because probably if we did that we would ruin the waterproof thinking there might be want to check the specs a speaker or microphone in the back interesting seem like i always have issues with some camera mounts they're just not thought out right and this is a follow-up after i've mounted the camera so this is a day or two after the original unboxing now this is the wi-fi model but it doesn't matter the other ones are just going to mount the same you can see that they have this metal plate and you really have to take this metal plate and you got to make sure you do get it level and it's more for the wall mount i do understand that for the wall mount and yeah you do get a screw on the bottom the top yeah i have it upside down so but it's going to be the same so if you mounted it on a wall and then you would point the camera down right and yeah that would look down and you could pivot it and you could do all the things and then you could even do your little angle and there is a little screw right here to set that great perfect right well not really a lot of residential stuff is mounted under the e they should have made a mount with just a little bit different stuff here so the first issue is so you've got it hanging from the wall right and now you want to move it a couple degrees to the pivot it right well no you've already mounted this plate with three screws and you got to get that exactly right you got to get that you know perpendicular to your viewing area but then you want to pivot it just a little bit you can't see this it doesn't turn left or right you can't do that so the only thing you can do when this is hanging from this the eve is you can go up and down you can pivot which is your angle here but you cannot rotate it's very unfortunate and i'll show you some awesome piece of technology that lets you do that the sarcasm there we'll take this mount off and hopefully again like i mentioned real link will take this as constructive criticism and change this stupid amount or maybe offer a different mount because look my good old boy dinotech gave these to me a couple years ago pretty simple tech three screws you got a piece here that you can turn and you got a whole ball joint and you can go all the different ways you want to do but hey luckily this is a regular threaded on this camera and now when this hangs from the eve you can do all the things because if you turn this around you can rotate that you can go all the different ways you can turn do whatever you want all with this simple little mount that you can pick up off amazon or whatever it may be they need to do this but make it a work for the eve too they should put it like a ball valve right here not a ball valve i'm thinking of plumbing but a ball joint here that allow you to move around to everything so that's the part i hate about this camera is the mount it's stupid and maybe i'm missing something so really i missed something on this this ball joint that don't go the other way i'm not perfect i make mistakes sometimes so if i did let me know down below so for pricing and no i'm not going to be like some of those other really corny channel oil i don't want to say any names were they just trying to get you to click links because they say i don't know about these prices and comments no i'll just normally tell you that straight up they did say the price would be around 110 for the poe and i think was like 130 around i know they haven't released yet for the wired wi-fi one i don't know why they call it wired wi-fi it says wired power but of course that's subject to change and definitely check out their website once they do release for the pricing of these cameras so i won't bore you with all the specs i'll just hit on some of the big ones it's gonna be two cameras they are four megapixel and they are 25 frames a second it does give you a 150 degree view which is pretty wide and i'll show you some stuff that i didn't mind now i did get one thing wrong in actually just looking at it myself they have leds that are for the ir which is you know you'll see those little red ones at night it gives you that kind of night vision as well as you do have the white leds if you want that color night vision you can have that activate with the motion now one thing i did want to talk about because yeah it is out there and you do see it there are several different threads you'll see like such as this one and no i'm not going to go through and name any names you're more than welcome to go google for this thread and go read it if you'd like to there was some issues that i found with several of real links cameras as of recent i know i've done a lot of different reviews on the rio link cameras and including their nvrs i still like their mvrs they're great little systems to throw into a house or whatever because you throw it in they're pretty much plug and play and you roll especially those person vehicle detection ones but when it comes to doing stuff with the power users such as using frigate for object and person detection doing your own thing such as with home assistant or you can do stuff with blue iris and do your deep stack whatever it may be there was some issues with some of the real eight cameras they would just drop out of blue iris or even in frigate i mean they have a whole section on just how to configure real link cameras i mean come on you shouldn't have to do that you should just be to throw in the rtsp feed and go but there seems to be some weird oddness with their codex but i will say i did not run into this on this particular camera so whatever they did on the codex on this they need to do that on all the other cameras such as the 500 series the 800 series i mean that's what they're talking about in this thread right here i did try the 800 series with bi blue iris and it was absolutely horrible i would not recommend that combination at all probably stick to maybe if you want to use it with their nvr but we're going to run through some of the things i would hope that real link takes the opportunity to read some of these threads out here that are on the internet because it's not making a good name for themselves and they would just fix the software and make everybody happy including making additional sales so with that said let's jump into actually looking at the camera and get on with things i did want to start with just this this is my blue iris feed of it and yeah you can see that i do get that yellow exclamation pointed sometimes i did try to tweak some of the frames per second in here and i was able to get rid of it at times but there still may be something weird with the coding but i didn't have any issues of it dropping out i will include again at the end of the video some of the just raw feeds we did direct to disk recording and i'll just throw those straight in uncut kind of no process and throw them into the end of this video and that's how we'll wrap this one up now as i said earlier i did have it inside frigate and if you're not sure what frigate is check the link down in the video description it's a pretty cool software that's free for doing all kind of notifications based on various things and objects and i was pleasantly surprised i just threw in the rtsp feeds into frigate and it worked right out of the gate i did not have any errors and that was using that one second interval on that iframe i do hope that they will fix some of the various codec issues that we have on their other cameras because i really don't recommend them for doing some of this stuff on some of the other cameras but hey if this one works out maybe they can back forward to the other ones [Music] [Music] [Music] you
