[Music] here are the notes for the first meeting with my squad in 1999 we've never had an undefeated season even when we won the national championship in 93 now I fueled boys if you'll do everything we ask it'll happen [Music] he took the right approach said the right things but don't think for a second that he didn't want to get an undefeated season on his desk he had a frame with no picture he says for the first undefeated team I have we had an opportunity to do something that had never been done before we didn't shy away from it [Applause] Peter walk he was the key the boy you could not tackle him it wasn't just that the team was so great Peter Warrick was the Heisman political those are accolades that you went on your own and I felt like I could have won those things Florida State students and fans continue to express confidence in tomorrow's outcome on the field they can't help but hide their disappointment about what took place off the field Seminole star Peter Warwick's guilty plea to theft charges he pleaded guilty to taking more than $400 worth of Dillard's clothing and paying only 20 I think the opportunity playing is Miami but they were there still be mine [Applause] who walks spinner for two days when the charges were reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor he was reinstated back to the team nationally that was met with a lot of criticism a lot of people understand that whiner coaches defend their players when they've done what they've done something wrong it's cause they're like your own children you know if you could take that person it complains and say well if he was your son what would you want us to do oh I'd want you to forgive him oh I'd want you yeah that's what I do coach Bowden he was just like you know Pete you know I look at you like my son I know that you messed up but it's always put it behind now you just got to move forward and just learn from them and grow wakie gets the pass away it is caught by people or he's back and it's great to have him back the snap the spot airboard putting a lake by janakowski each game pressure mounted but we tried never to let the kids feel the pressure it was a special group no doubt about it we played 11 games this is what we wanted man you know I've shot it for massive championship everybody in the country is going to see you play [Applause] I think we got a little complacent and Michael Vick just put on a show touchdown put check the attack Michael Bay and my brain I was like just give me in Dugas the ball make them fight from behind 30 45 for the 50 for the your life it's 30 minutes now that's it no better tell me where they want it worse than us but could only do so much only long the talent level or the Florida State defense they took over in the fourth quarter Michael Vick was completely out of gas man Bobby was on a Cylon I looked at him straight in the eye say because B you want me to finish him it was like yeah getting them a 9 a deep ball right now every guy on that football team wanted to win that for Coach bout the one image that will never leave me is the picture of him standing on that stage holding up that crystal ball every football team has to establish an identity these guys never lost this team here's set the standard [Music] thank you for watching ESPN on YouTube for more sports highlights and analysis be sure to download the ESPN app and for live streaming sports and premium content subscribe to ESPN Plus

I will never forget this game. My family was stationed in Germany at the time, and I had to wake up at 2am to watch. I can still remember the dagger TD from Weinke to Warrick like it was yesterday.
