how's it going everybody I'm Nikki delventhal and these are my dogs Rodney and camper delventhal for over 3 years we lived in a Toyota Prius but now we're in a 4x4 Sprinter and we're here to take you you want this yeah go get it there is truly nothing like being out here just uh if you've never done it before in a good head space come out to a dry lake bed just like this or a huge Valley and just be there alone or with your family or your dogs uh but just experience it I I'm telling you there is nothing like it it's really hard to put into words what it does for you but you just feel so small in a good way all you hear is the wind and your breath and yeah there's something just really really incredible about it but then on the other side of that if you're not in a good head space it can be really really hard out here where you kind of become a victim to loneliness and it can be really toxic one thing I can confirm is that full-time Travelers or just people on the road are some of the friendliest most open people so often times if you go up to someone and just start talking you guys are going to be sharing a campfire that night they'll beware last time I decided to join a camping group I ended up in a hot sauce challenge I just want to add that Nikki thinks black pepper is hot that was brutal despite cheating and it went all the way through the night never do that um but it's also a place where you're like me and we're out here in the middle of nowhere and we are purposely trying to not talk to people there's also that side of it you're really only as social as you want to be or your neighbor wants to be if you are at home do not take your relationships for granted that is one of the things that is missing from this lifestyle is really stable community there's a lot of Pros but that's definitely one of the cons um so all of you if you're in a stable household and you have friends and family in the same town maybe go spend some more time with them cuz I sure is heck Miss mine right now yes having a dog changed everything uh yeah did sharing sucks I was alone for an entire year in my Prius before I found camper in the desert the day that he moved in everything changed he may not be able to answer my questions or talk to me uh if I asked you the same questions you asked me you wouldn't answer them either but they do love you unconditionally and there's nothing like it less dishes we're eating out of this first round of cleaning all right boys we need to get this van prepped for a visitor so we got to hit the road uh and while we're on the road I think we will talk about my excuse me experience with my current relationship but also just relationships in general uh while living in a car and just making it work [Music] [Music] I did forget to mention we are in Joshua Tree California and our first stop is for groceries hello so good oh shoot I forgot there's an eclipse today I got glasses for this let's check it out you got to put these on to keep your eyes safe got these this week oh my goodness this is so cool don't worry you guys are next down the road there we go got I love this on they're right next to each other ups and dog store my dogs are on a raw diet where everything is Whole Food based so sometimes finding food for them is little challenging cuz you have to go to boutique stores but also kind of easy because comparable Brands won't mess up their stomach yeah we like these ingredients thank you a day you too so normally you can go to a UPS Store USPS different places call ahead of time and have a package scent there and I did do that but apparently the package is not there yet um um I did just ask the company for a tracking number so we'll see what's up with that but yeah that's one thing about van life right it's not here so I might have to wait around for that or come back or this one's a small one so it's not that big of a deal I'm going to pay them to forward it but yeah if you want to get packages on the road that's one way to do it uh though sometimes like this one you do have to pay $10 to receive that package but we're not paying 10 bucks a day cuz the package isn't here woo so on to the next stop I need washer fluid so that just got added to the list so we made our rounds decided a shower is probably a good idea since we haven't seen Justin for a few weeks today cost $15 for a day pass since there were no national gym chains around hello good boys right next stop potable water it's the big debate is it potable or ptable I actually don't know seriously lady what was I saying earlier about those questions now normally I might be a little bit concerned about the quality of that water but the guys up front said that it was potable um that we just might want to filter so good on that and now might be nice if we cleaned up a little bit for Justin so let's do that really fast oh my goodness ladies and gentlemen she's done it it's beautiful so if you guys have been watching my channel for a while now you guys know that I am an adventurer to the core uh discoveries exploration really just new things have been my life for 8 plus years now with full-time travel now with that dating can be kind of hard uh I've been dating Justin now for a little while and one of the challenges has been that Justin is Tethered to one location with home and work and well as you guys know I am a bit of a nomad luckily Justin's home is in a absolutely gorgeous area with all of the things I love so visiting him is so easy but I'm also at a place where I love what I'm doing and I really love my life so it's been a challenge uh between the two different Lifestyles I really value balance in life and special relationships so it's really important to me that I try to make this work so how we've been doing that is I will come and visit Justin and his home periodically and kind of feel like I get a sense of community and home uh so that's a plus side and then he will come out and travel like today and see places that he might otherwise never have seen so I think it's a really beautiful thing that we're trying to figure out right now and I guess we'll see how it goes before we the shade cuz it gets super hot here pretty early so we are all set up we're going to bug proof the van so many little bugs in here hey Justin we were going to save the surprise for tomorrow morning cuz it's late but you want to go for a little hot spring dip hell yeah yeah all right we got the goods we're going right up there to go soak coming boys they're so cute look at them they're definitely brother and sister and they're both 6 months all the dogs here at bubbling Wells Ranch are Street dogs they just came on in all right here we are welcome to the Backyard Oasis all right we're filling her up I went really fancy here I got scoop dog I got a nice wine glass or do you want this wine glass this one one you haven't peed in lately I haven't peed in either of these sure we're going to make it a latte so it's frothy you want to have a go at it catch look at that this is nice huh M oh get it camper so camper has turned into a water dog Rodney is still terrified you guys have seen how I cook so we got Chef Justin in the house his cooking is actually absolutely amazing so take it away for breakfast Justin no mouth carrots why not breakast burritos what did you get in culinary arts grade wise I got n really what you get guess C minus that's how you think of my cooking were you in culinary arts yeah they made you chcken in high school and what' you get an A+ C+ I was way off oh no shell look at that she is a natural take that culinary arts high school teacher not too hard I it's on my head oh my God mhm we should have made two I know let's start with a tour of this place and find ourselves a cold plunge let's go starting that way so beyond dry camping or an RV that they also rent out you can also grab a house we're going to tore the one up there what did you just what did you just do that's so sharp it's a lot sharper than I thought a Shar so this is where we first worked exploring last night now you get to see it during the day oh the RV is right over here let's check that out so this place is currently a work in progress so he is building everything out and really making it something amazing right over here we have the main swimming hole area but it's so much fun cuz over here we have the barbecue and it really makes you feel like you're in this old Wild West Town let's check it out [Music] hello sir what would you like to drink whiskey this is all I have look at that we got a smoker barbecue sink and [Music] garbage another private hotring these you could fill up just like the ones last night actually cousin Sarah and I got to enjoy these last week it was amazing this beautiful deck overlooking the water I am obsessed with these palm trees hello it's our greeting crew we missed you guys hi Max hi blue my boys are hanging out in the AC they'll come say hi later uh tell us what we're about to look at it's a sweet little yurk cabin thingy we had the One path that we went up last night to the main house and this is also the main road that takes you to the top this is more like The Retreat House where multiple people would book to stay it is incredible wait till you guys see this place all right welcome thanks for coming this is the main estate of bubbling Wells oh my gosh I am obsessed with the aesthetic in here all these dream catchers so this house was built over a 10year period by a gentleman by the name of Paul Gary he handcrafted all of this he was a developer but also as you can tell really really good artist these masks up here are part of his work as well as every little detail from the switch placed to little fetishes you'll see everywhere you look even after four years I'm still finding new new details that I didn't notice before yeah I've never seen so much detail in a build before so this here was a uh this used to be a reflection pond so just like if you've gone into the Middle East Morocco you'll see in the beginning of you know the middle of the riads they'll have open Skies this is the main Gallery living room you will um again as you'll see this guy handcrafted every every little piece of this I assumed that he had this made and brought in from Santa Fe but um the more I kind of looked into him and and talked to various people they they kind of thought me sat here and did all of this work over the years which is why he never he never quite finished until the day he died wow wow he did this all by hand himself so um one of the funny stories I just heard from um one of the ladies that used to live here on the property was that he obsessed so much about these particular Stones he was going all over the city to find the exact stones that he wanted to place here wow this here is a nice little corner so the opposite corner would be your housekeeper Suite so this one's quite a bit bigger they pretty much turn two rooms worth of space into one your your throne room there large shower and of course his and hers bities so as we're restoring some of the artwork every little detail I'm still finding them as I said this was all hand carved into it so the entire home all the beans are this level of detail that's crazy and are you like uncovering things oh absolutely I'll show you guys something I just found this house is a masterpiece a true work of art I never opened this before but if wanted to take a look down there no which is crazy cuz it's almost the exact design that we had for our uh proposed Hotel down below that is so cool here's the sunken your sunken Library um this was typically a study with a desk you can see sort of like the Beetlejuice like the mland style fireplace all the fireplac have a totally different vibe so I feel like this is a distinctive 80s style fireplace but still pretty cool as you'll see here we have full siize bath there's really nice tile work each one of these has been done differently different color schemes the door to the laundry room a Brooklyn style bedroom for a closet and a built-in KingSize bed oh it's gorgeous you're a natural born tour guide right thank you David and here are my hell hounds of course doing something not supposed to do oh we have another one oh my God there's a new friend as you can see bubbling Wells Ranch is also dog friendly and they take in stray dogs we're kind of stray dogs right now I'm just saying we're taking stray this is what backyard dreams are made of raol how you draw hand cars you at the detail on the beams honestly with Justin's building skills and my love for camping I feel like we need to open a campground so if you want we can go take a four-wheeler tour I could take you on to The Wildside and show you the canyon as well as some of our trails that go up along the perimeter and into some of the best overlooks of the property oh heck yeah Count Me In Our Little stray friend we're bringing him back to his owner but at the same time taking a tour of the property apparently there's a really fun Canyon and other stuff so after you here we go [Music] I hi thereare what's up how's it going this your puppy yeah yeah that's my pu so damn cute hi hi nice to meet nice to meet you I heard you had a badass rig I do yeah it's a unit love that it's a Tacoma with a four-wheel camper love that I used to live in one of those oh no Tacoma with a four-wheel camper nice good taste yeah six months fantastic awesome love that well cool well I'm going to take her is the site of the first pioneer cabat yera this is the end of yera road so we found his original cabin that was cut into the side of this hill so he could view when the trains were coming and he used to walk seven miles each way to get water the Native American tribes told him to dig right underneath his feet he dug down about 40 ft hit water and that started this entire area you know learning about the hot springs that this hot spring aqua ER that surrounds this whole [Music] area woo that was incredible thank you you welcome what a badass property cold dips cold dips look who's made
