okay patient what we're going to do now is Natalie very on the right side so you're seated in your wheelchair right now I've already demonstrated for you what we're going to do we need to use the walk or going up and down the stairs you told me that your rail is on the left as you go up stairs at home so this is the rail that we're going to use okay I'll talk you through it again just like I demonstrated for you okay so I get the patient up she's in the standing position but you're gonna walk over toward that side so we're not going feeding on this leg down so use my upper hand just over there okay keep that one right up off down and step forward okay now what you're going to do is you're going to use your left hand on the rail and grab that this hand is going to bring up the Walker around edge to the side and take this one and look to help so it's a position you're going to use see how nice and sturdy is we put into it okay she is not like bearing on the right so I need to stay toward this side I will tell you right now this is not easy to do try to get out and welcome and stay and off to the side but that's where you need to be so I'd take a little step closer to the stair first okay and this up a little closer all right go ahead and use your arms and get yourself up slot those atmosphere bring the Walker get out of the way while she moves the Walker once she has it set and I want to be up close again okay go ahead and step up now use this hand bring that Walker right in front of you and again this is her weak side so we're going to go out a big circle around that way so that you can turn toward her strong sides bed with both hands the weight needs to go at the same time onto the Walker so it's big circle where I'm standing behind I notice if I did this the wrong way and I were behind her like this all sorts of bad things could happen okay so I just worked my way around today go alright we're going to use this rail this is your bad side so I'm going to be toward the involved side when step a little closer first okay hang on to the rail use that hand turn them Walker once it's at that angle position then you can put weight on that walk on the handle remember you can't put weight on it if it's all four on the same level okay let's step a little bit closer here here hand go ahead and step down walk her down this is where we want to make sure those legs are wrap against the riser okay some walkers are going to be bigger than others we have one that doesn't fold and I mean those legs up and are basically right on the edge there if it is on the edge what I usually do is with almost like a walk to the water if it's problematic for the patient they may need to get a different size walker so that they're safe on the stairs okay urine downs bring you down now beautiful then should I bring the Walker and cover don't put any weight on until she has both hands and once she got here
