Hey how's it going everybody just making sure we are live checking on [Music] everything fantastic say hello if you're joining us sorry I might be a little bit closer that probably helps good good which making sure we're all good yep we're gonna bash it hey 5:31 just just setting up some things before I keep going making sure we're looking good say hello if you're just tuning in let's see checking ok good good I think we're we're running on that down everything we need to this is a a peridot peridot I wish I could say your name correctly that's up before get this going okay good I want to show you some updates I've been I've been crazy busy with some with some projects oh I haven't been able to stream is regularly as I would like to so I'm gonna try to get back on that that that train so while we're waiting for everything to kind of I want to jump in just wanted to show you guys some progress on that spaceship thing I've been working on let's see if I can pull this up because I had a picture of it on my phone and so I need to pull it up a different way okay maybe this is the best way to do it okay we'll be switching nano screens in just a second I'll show you the progress how's everyone doing also love for you guys to share like some of your in the chat if you guys want it'd be awesome I would love to see some of your guys's work yeah it'd be fun to see so far I can only see the YouTube chat I'm gonna see if I can read some of the chats on Facebook see if that one works as well try to get this to work on restream there but let's let's see again say hello and I like to see who's here share your work in the chat so we can also kind of see what people are working on okay if anyone's on Facebook I would appreciate it if you said hello I want to see if that's kind of working that'd be cool we're good on psych we're connected cool awesome yeah so today we're gonna be this is not sponsored I'm not sponsored by anyone that did the cache 3d I'm just a big fan and so I have no problem sharing you know plugins and and things like that that are that are awesome so okay let's without further ado let's jump into I'll show you some of the spaceship and then I'll show you the kit bash 3d if you guys don't know about it really cool really cool basically 3d packages that you can use on your projects and they're super high quality and they're awesome format painting and and for anything else so alright let's jump over to this screen certainly hide that for you so here's the spaceship progress it's definitely coming a long way see if I can wish we could zoom in stream looks like it's going in and out it's probably because I'm streaming to like four different things at once anyway so yeah looks this is what it's starting to look like I feel like it's getting a lot better i you know and i did some paint overs in Photoshop these chords can they're basically on cards and you can just make it look like they're there did some cool painting and it's coming together so I'll have to start projecting and stuff if you guys have questions about this let me know but yeah that's it so far now into the kit bash so I don't know if any of you know about KITT KITT bass 3d again I am NOT sponsored just big fan check out there they have these different kits and they're they're amazing they have a free one so if you sign up you can get like a free one and that's what we're gonna be playing with and I believe it's like the Gothic one yes it's pieces of Gothic one but yeah they have these awesome kits that you can use and they're different elements and you pretty much move the pieces around and you can create some cool looking stuff so go check out kit bash and also mega scans I don't find you and uses mega scans out there but mega scans is awesome for good textures see how I'm gonna be assuming Magus using some of the mega scan stuff so anyway let's jump into it so you get the mega scans kit you just drag this in your project oh boy it's taking a little bit to to load there maybe I should have done the words cuz I have a lot of things to go and see yeah here is the kit bash they're really cool objects that are broken up and you can use them really easily they're just super cool and you can just move them around in your scene and duplicate them and copy and then create some cool looking stuff so I wanted to do that a little bit today so first thing I like to do is I'm just gonna create a new project and I like to do I've been doing next when I'm by 804 that's kind of a new thing that format I'll I think that's I can't remember its dimensions but someone's asking I'm space you've seen how did you how did the wind on everything I will show you how oh the wind stuff works that's with Forrester and actually I'm going to be using that on this project as well so we'll be doing a little bit of Forrester which will help help us kind of see how to use that with redshift and I'm gonna make sure the switchyard ship do I need else it probably should set that up to automatically do that let's just leave everything the same turn on my brute force and radiance point cloud and we will pretty much leave everything as is for now and then I like to keep you know one window with Kip ash one with normal I'm gonna start with just these walls so we can just copy let's go in here and paste it well that's teeny alright and we are gonna just make looks like it's already lined up to the floor or it should be you know go a little bit lower so what I'm gonna do is create like a wall that's cool thing with this kids you can create some really cool looking stuff pretty quickly I even like to overlay some of these well maybe have to do that like this and then we'll take both of these algae to combine those and maybe we'll have something like this go back in to the kit bash and let's take hmm which piece we use I like this one I'm gonna copy that go back in here paste it and also if you're having a problem with your anchor point not in the right place just go into mesh center Center center - and that way it'll Center your axis to the right place see how these kits are pretty sweet you can just like create some really nice-looking stuff pretty pretty freakin fast I'm not a model or myself I I'm not very good at modeling and so it's nice to have these kits that can get you really far and they have like all this a really great detail and you don't they do a ton I also like to just start doing things this is just my personal preference but I like to start setting up lot lighting and kind of getting a mood even before I put textures on so so we're gonna do that because that's the way I like to work so first thing is I'm gonna do a dome light and let's find a really good dome light also nice check see if we have any comments and the makeshift volumes off I'm here yeah I like to do see my assets and do a dome light will do you like a sky I can't ask feel free to ask questions and stuff let's do generally this one's not loading maybe it's better ease the HDRI oh okay yeah let's check out this also if you've yep if you've updated some stuff in here you'll see they have this new render window which is pretty sweet it's kind of a nice guy and you can rotate this obviously by doing that rotating it this way kind of curious where the Sun is in this sky dome maybe it's hidden behind some clouds yeah it looks like it's kind of hidden behind some clouds let's uh pause this and try another sky ooh I see one that this one's a little bit brighter it's also a little hidden by some clouds but it's got a cool cool feel to it so yeah you can just use the sky like that if you like I like to always add an a light with the sky you just look around it's good to just move the lights around and kind of see what what you're gonna what looks the best yeah that's pretty I like that so then the cool thing is you can do lights and I believe they have a physical Sun and with the physical Sun just get this thing up you can try to line this up too to match your the Sun that you have in your scene so it looks like it's a harsh you know coming from the the right and it's a Sun setting so you could do something like that and then in your Sun setting the bigger the Sun the softer the shadows so we could like make the Sun a little bit bigger do something like that oops and then another thing I wanted to do is take maybe this wall rotate oops wrong 90 let's go to this for view I gotta lock my view on this one so you don't get that messed up oops and we can move this / like that let me back it up and do it oops yeah so we can start just kind of making these walls that let me take this other wall that we have and we're gonna rotate that 90 actually it's negative 90 and let's push that back I'm now looking at this now I'm like wow those walls are gonna be really close to each other we have to try something else maybe that wall doesn't work on that side or we try different wall let's um yeah that's right a different wall we have all these other cool assets that we can use so let's pause this render and let's go back over to the git bash and let's try this wall it's copy and paste it and let's rotate this then 90 degrees see where this one's going to go let me just bring those down a little bit smaller I'm gonna fly around in here for a bit let's see how do we make this one work because we have that gap maybe this one wouldn't work for here would it unless it's hmm yeah I don't know it may not work from that angle you'd have to move some things around let's think we could try let's try actually someone comes flush right there let me try let's try this going back zero what if we had these ones here and that wouldn't work trying to see what's the best option for us since this wall doesn't come out like that it's not bent like the same way that's a fun thing like these things those you can just mess with it until you find something that works that's still not going to work for us right here but I do want to use this wall so I'm kind of tempted just to take out one of those go right there [Music] maybe that looks cool like that like you can't even see that hole if we're doing if we're lined up from over here or something I don't know just change it up like that let's grab another piece and see if we can fill in that area Jared Fidel says I like cats on Facebook Thank You Jared let's grab this piece copy we're gonna paste this it looks like it's not centered so got to Center that there's that piece you know what maybe this is the solution to our problem right here maybe we'll take this tower piece and we'll just have it on top of this thing I could totally work Jared I am just using this kit bash these guys create this really cool kit bash kit and basically allows you to just make some cool looking stuff really quickly and so kind of showing how to use it how to you know play with some stuff we're gonna do some volumetric stuff in here too like for the environment which is really cool and we're just gonna play with this tool and make something make something bone yeah so let's see let's keep playing with this let's duplicate another building over here if this that side that could be cool that's an ID or later I'll start messing with you know composition the lens we want to use but I do like light coming through there I'm gonna pause this so that I can just kind of move around quickly oh one I really like is this one for sure it's a cool dome looking thing let's paste that in here and we're gonna go to mesh center sensor that up thanks for tuning in guys chime in with the questions love to hear from you let me see yeah we're connected looks like we have everyone on Twitch and okay good yeah and let's see we need a add another tower under that one just gonna do they Jarrid if you're watching yes this this tool that I'm using this kit bosch tool it's awesome it's made by the some of the best in the industry I created this really cool tool and it helps you just kind of block out stuff this kid I'm using currently is the free one but they have like really nice detailed models that you can just throw in throw together which is so cool I feel like I can use this wall better and also grab that and let's go back into here paste maybe this oh my I like that better there dang it do any of you have the kit bash any of the kid bash if you purchase any of these I'm just curious what you guys think of them looking at this now and I actually did like the bridge back in front of this just gave us some depth so if we can somehow make this all work cuz right now that's like that ain't gonna work that that slider back you got to close that she need to close the wall behind there this wall yes this is Jared Allen Facebook's wondering yes or just saying yeah it's like Legos yeah it really is a lot of this stuff I feel like you're just kind of playing you just mess mess around with some stuff and see what looks best I just haven't done I haven't been able to play around like this because I've been working on some stuff so it's kind of fun to get back into just like making something just because it looks cool just because you want to and it's refreshing to just make cool it and stuff for cool sake that's the only reason treci how I can line up these edges where is the best place I'll line it up don't like it there I liked it better back there that's hollow on that side I'm also going to turn on sometimes it helps just to turn that kind of stuff on so you can really see what's going on that's yeah now that helps me see things a little bit better that's kind of confusing before it's maybe just that one sides like that doesn't need to be perfectly symmetrical that's okay let's duplicate this other tower man the mesh isn't centered again there we go Lily let's push this thing back so it's not cutting off the other side say yeah see the cool thing of these kit bashes like you know you don't need to know a ton ton about 3d and you're able to create you know modeling and you can create these really what looks to be a super intricate looking things which is a so cool also the backside of these are hollow so what we're going to do is duplicate that again and I believe one 180 this and you can just clone it to the other side like that we can take this piece down here and we can maybe try something else I don't know if we'll see it from back there again I'm only doing base on like where I think I'll set up the camera so I'm not too worried about like certain things being having holes because I'm kind of a moving this from like one perspective so there we go on that and again Shimon if you guys have any questions now I'm gonna start just doing some basic basic textures and I'm gonna show you this is why I really like this kids because they UV this properly so that we can add in some of these materials really quickly so I'm going to create a new material redshift material and this is gonna be the bricks so let's open the shader and let's open there's my mega scans let's go to materials and I should have some good concrete stuff construction let's see stone not that one rock oh boy okay yeah brick smooth we could try some of this brick stuff yeah we'll try some of this brick we'll do one of these bricks old brick that one's kind of cool-looking so have brick old height maybe I won't do the height though just do the normal and the gloss that should be good it should be a list drag oh there they are drag these in here if you guys have questions please let me know making sure we're still connected yep looks like we're still good you guys are quiet today so not sure if we're getting any questions alright let's put this into the color oh boy the thing is it probably want to save this project really quickly make sure you save your work that would be bad and we're just gonna put this in and here and just call it kit bash test cool and our normal map just type normal plug this into the overall bump and we just need to copy this this path paste it in there you can see it's working so I don't really need that anymore since we copy that and then we need to plug this into our I think it's our reflection so the roughness possibly and believe it is okay now what we're gonna do is you can see right here there's brouk brick and roof if you click them if you grab your new material you grab it and you hold alt and put it over this it will replace everything in here that has that material so you can see that voila it did it the only thing that looks like he got a little janked up is that thing but let's uh let's render this and see if it worked if it still worked on that back one nope that one got all weird so now we need to investigate and figure out why it did that we can also see there's a gap on this so let's try to fix that trying to see why where's that gap coming from cool looks I mean not too worried about it being tiled because if any of you watch learn Squared's streams I don't fin of you watched on Twitch they I know max talks about don't panic about this kind of stuff because later you can fix it and when you paint over so you can make sure it doesn't feel like it's just cloned exactly the same like you can change up some of this stuff in the Photoshop so you don't need to stress about that too much the other thing is the scale I feel like let me just do it to two bricks are a little too big for my liking and this so you can see if I can scale them down and if I scale the bricks down here we need to also scale them in all of our other materials otherwise it will not work properly it'll our bump maps and everything will not be aligned so that's me scaling it down a little bit more it feels a little bit better it's something felt weird with this wall I don't know maybe it looks good with the crack I don't know and the other thing is seeing this dude over here I don't know what happened it's on flat well really is UV I don't maybe I accidentally switch that but that need to be on UV oh boy that did not work something got messed up with my UVs alright since that one didn't want to work if we change it to cubic hmm how did that one get messed up cuz this one interesting here I'm gonna do that one got kind of messed up so I'm going to delete it and then I'm going to mess around with some of the stuff and change it a little bit more I'm gonna take this one since this one was being obedient and we're gonna use this one now actually this is totally different wall it's back to our first one cool thing is you can just fly around and kind of find the angle you like pretty quickly and now let's pause the render and let's take another look at some of these other things so we have this tower maybe we could you just use this in another part actually really wanted this one to work so I'm gonna try this again and I'm gonna check this one says flat UV mapping hmm it looks like that's the only one that's flat which makes me wonder let's try something I'm wondering if that kit got a little messed up let's try the FBX file let's drag this one in we're gonna do in it a little investigation so here's that maybe this is the better way to do it yeah this one's working properly so I'm gonna copy this one over it looks like the FBX one has a set up exactly the way we want so it's going here paste that one now if I replace the brick there we go that one's working great fantastic Haeju man how's it going welcome to the stream just plain with the 3d kit bash and having some fun I'm like looking at this and I'm like seeing how big these windows are these bricks we are pretty dang massive maybe we need to go even further maybe I need to scale it even more so we're gonna do that we're gonna scale it even more so right now we're at 2 let's try 3 3 3 I'm wondering though I'm looking at this I hope this is updating in here cuz maybe it's not let's see soon experiment let's go 150 150 okay so if I go 5050 oh boy maybe that's what I need to be doing just using that that could be the key so it looks like it's better so now I'm curious let's render this and kind of see what the texture doing it may be better just to tile it right here on the materials rather than doing it oh but now these are divided okay okay here's what we're gonna do everybody we're gonna set this back to 1 and it looks like if you're trying to scale some of these textures just do it in the on the right side it's probably gonna be easier rather than having to do it all over through here and that way you're able to preview it properly so if we have this one set to 50/50 we can select all these and fifty-fifty good and these ones hold shift select those pick 50 and all these walls need to be very the same thing to all these shift oops and let's get this wall this is the one we're looking at right now and we go 5050 I feel like if we're looking at these windows the bricks would be about that small most likely okay let's render this and take a look sweet that's cool and let's uh let's keep going just keep playing with some of these things so that looks cool hidden back there now I like that a lot better what I actually want to do too is I really like these towers so we're gonna do with these ones we could like stack two of them on top of each other like that and then I can select both of these I'm just gonna group um duplicate them like that and we're gonna go back to the FBX file it seems like that ones working a little bit better for us copy this and go in here paste it and go mesh Center since your two axis X YZ again we can replace this this this material right here with this one so just hold alt hover over oops missed it like that and there's the bricks on that one and we have to do the same thing with the scale this thing down so it's the same scaling as these ones should be interesting okay so now what I want to start doing is we'll do the roof really quickly we're going to just do some basic texture for the roof and then I'll play with like composition and a couple of other things I believe some plants and [Music] whatnot so that's looking pretty cool now use so yeah let's uh texture these roofs really quickly I pause that and we're gonna go into let's see let's so let's get a new material so material right here let me see if I have any like textures for like roofing or anything like that stone wood maybe we have something here no we'll just do something basic if I don't have anything that's really really good masking all right yeah we're just gonna I'll use one of these masks for like grime grunge we'll use one of these and what we're gonna do you just pull that back open grab one of these grunge textures this one looks good oh my dad says happy birthday he asked my birthday I'm big 30 tomorrow that's pretty crazy whoo do I feel like I'm 21 still act like a 21 year old I guess - okay we're gonna plug this into reflection roughness and let's just name this thing and when we render I'll be able to see what we're doing roof drag this so now all of a and then we got to replace this one too so there's all of our roof textures hit render so we can see okay now I have the same all the roof things are the same so let's I like that dark red they had before so we're just gonna go back to that now we need to make sure oh I didn't put my I put that in refractions my roughness so we got out put that in reflection roughness there we go and I believe if you add a ramp you can input I think this is how you can mess with some of the contrast of your roughness of the texture so oh boy right now it's super reflective so we got to fix that let's go back into our shader and oh goodness I gotta make this window fit let's play with this looks like this ramp mess it up flexion roughness there we go I'm just gonna keep it there like that all right I'm gonna move on because we have tons of time so let's move on to bigger and better things and the other thing I wanted to show you guys oh thanks Joe man juh man on YouTube still thinks he thinks they look 21 which is awesome okay so we're gonna do the environment is where we do some of the fog and so environment this is where we add all the scattering and all that goodness but remember we have to have something contributing to it so I'm gonna do my dome white so if you started doing your dome light you can see that we're starting to get some of that volumetric lighting in there and then in your environment in here we need to say do we want to add a tint to it and sometimes it's nice to add a little bit of sky blue to it and let's maybe see if we can dial this actually want to keep the scattering up you turn this one down a little bit just so it's in the shadows and you can also have your Sun contribute to it as well which will you know add a little bit of warmth back in there it's kind of cool I'm gonna move the Sun around it maybe get some I kind of see it where the gleams are hitting off the roofs and stuff see where it looks best see looks kind of nice when it's coming out of this like little area that's some nice shines coming off on all that shining through those windows looks cool cool and you can see the roughness on the tower then it's just a matter of you know composing your shot and oh boy and stuck them to the ground and seeing what you like best so some fun things we can do is let's add a redshift camera and now we're looking through it we can mess with our iso and all that good stuff if it's too bright too dark it's kind of fun way to play with that and then I always like to add the a lot on here so this is the aces LUT believe it's in here and let's see it is called image works yep ace is 1.3 so this is just like a nice LUT you can put on your scene like that we can have this thing you know if we want the Sun to even add more what's not contributing any more let's add that back in there its rear ender sorry now it's not contributing a lot so I'm going to you know care of the son contribute a lot to the volume to the atmosphere and the shadows as well and can also play with where is it so the ozone and all that good stuff believe that softens it yes I'm going to Liam I'm going to be doing a piercing happy 21st birthday I'm even catching something like really quick answer a couple questions octane scatter is awesome and I wish the redshift had one hopefully they will have something coming out soon that does do something like that because I'm a huge fan of the scattering tool I just use X particles for that kind of stuff or for the trees I'm using for Sur and I'll show you that as well and then mega scans we're gonna about to that right now so I'll just I'll show you how you use mega scans because those things can be a little confusing because there's like a lot of pieces to them but really quickly I was gonna see what it looks like if I add more volume or last just kind of wanted to play with this it looked better where it was and turned out my exposure a little bit and let me move the Sun again I wanna just try some different things could have it more now it looks better like coming out from a side from the side I want this thing to be on a hill too so I'm gonna pause this render and I just have an idea let me get out of this camera view alright so this is what we're gonna do because I feel like I need to make some changes with this environment and then we're gonna text the ground with a mega scam so let's click on the ground and let me look at the wireframe and see what we have set up on it so yeah we need to subdivide this a little bit more we'll just do like yeah that's bright too much I'll go with that for now see it see and and if you go into this point mode use the magnet tool oops we can start like pushing and pulling stuff so if I want this to look like it's like on a hill I'm just gonna pull down some of the environment around it so this is super helpful tools the magnet tool you can change the radius of it and the fall off and all that goodness so let me go back into our camera so now we can kind of get lower and look up at it something like that I am I want to fill in this area because it feels a little weird it feels empty right there and I'm actually gonna slide this thing over so we're gonna fill in this area and maybe we'll use those other this this asset that I didn't really get to you can't really see it cuz it's hidden over there slide this thing over and let me get out its view I'm gonna turn off wireframes do some stuff like this and place that one like close to it cool thing is you won't even be able to see a lot of this let's go back to our render view that's looking cool take a look oh whoops looks like I need to unlock that there we go that's looking pretty sweet I do see that gap right there which means we need to move some stuff so let's see if I can either close it remove this thing for it a bit more just to hide that thing it's looking cool and now what oh sorry guys hit my mic and now we need this to do the texture on the ground so we'll use the mega scans for that let me pause this so I have the soil dirt mega scan that comes with all this craziness and what we're gonna do is go to material with the redshift we're gonna open this up and we need this which is our this is our color I'm not gonna use the ambient occlusion pass I need I'm not gonna use the bump either I'm just gonna use this displacement roughness and specular drag these in here and say no for now all of these because it's wanting to copy them and we're just gonna start plugging things in so again the normal map we just need the path and okay normal map and we'll plug this into overall bump and paste the path in there it's gonna make computers slowed down a little bit so now you can see the normal map is working yes I'm gonna have a volumetric lighting tutorial soon started to be slow in the comments I'll try to be better with it and then on displacement we need a displacement so drag that in plug this into this into your output and then the texture goes into your displacement and you say texture map now remember we need to put a red shift object tag on the floor since we have that let's give this a second to think it's these are 4k textures item so it's kind of taking a little bit of time input oops did I just do that wrong hopefully I put that in color I mean just that will check sorry some of these textures nope I did not some of these textures do take a little bit of time to load roughness this goes into your reflection roughness so we go into here reflection roughness wait for that I didn't necessarily need a 4k texture I could have downloaded the 2k and no one would probably know and specular I always put this into my reflection wait I could be doing that wrong just gonna be honest with you let that load and now we are ready to put this on our floor so I'm going to drag this and put this on the ground we can see there it is I'm gonna scale this thing quite a bit that's maybe too much let's go for okay that looks good and again make sure now that we have this on the plane or a ground we need to add a red shift object tag and we need to make sure that the geometry is turned on displacement and I turn the tessellation on but I turn off sub there this sub-division because the screen space adaptive I think makes your your displacement go faster so let's see what this looks like so there it is there's the texture and there you can play with the displacement amount I believe it's in here yeah there we go so I turn this up the scale of it we're gonna get it's gonna get more bumpy I do not like how saturated this thing this texture is so I'm gonna mess with that as well let me pause this render and we're also gonna do three three I feel like that was a little these are a little too big could even probably go less than that and again we're gonna be covering a lot of this up with foliage and trees and all that goodness so let me go into my color and when you color correct believe saturation yes and we'll just put this back into our out color and let me turn the saturation level down that's made too much it just looked a little too saturated for my liking so okay let's render this and see how we're looking well way too bumpy so yeah we got to play with we got to turn our displacement down and I actually don't like how this is scattered either it's too tightly so I mean the camera down and kind of look let's see sometimes you got to mess with things until you find just the right angle I also not in love with the dumb light I feel like we could find something a little bit better looking let me pause this and let's try a different light I want something that's more like dramatic Sun setting kind of thing I wish I could preview these things like easier so that was sky - let's try sky three no let's try sky 4 that one's more sunset II so now that that's um let's uh let's move the dome light let's rotate this thing so that would look pretty dramatic so let's go let's try to match that same the way our dome light is lighting the scene you kind of want to match the same direction so it feels like that's where the Sun is coming from and I actually want it to come more from that angle so let's rotate our dome a little bit just so it feels you want to use some physical lights to help your um your dome lights so you get some of the harsher shadows and whatnot I also feel like it's still too high I don't think it would be that high we'd have some longer shadows if he was setting that far that's looking better and maybe we'll have this contribute a little bit more volume in there so it looks a little easier it's kind of cool so now I'm just gonna add some foliage we'll just add some plants in here there's a lot more we could do we could add like glass in the windows and oh really quick some I wanted to add some accent lights because we're jamming on YouTube it was asking about volumetric lights and we can have some really cool accent lights with these point lights and make them look like maybe there's or with the spotlights excuse me and make it look like that there's like fire or torches up here so I'm just gonna do this really quickly if we rotate this 90 degrees they put this on this side of the building back here and for the color we can just do temperature and I believe this way well this will warm it up and volume we can just crank that now let me just back up and hit render and I want to see how that's looking so that's obviously too much right there you can see it's so we could scale back some of this stuff let's try you see if I can it's a way to make the the length of the comb so this is changing the diameter of it so it's more spotty or brighter whatever but I need this thing to be overall shorter maybe that's the intensity there we go just these types of things kind of add just more life and you're seeing just like having like torches and just other little elements here and there we could have this thing contribute a lot to the the volumetrics and let's angle this out a bit more so you can kind of see these there's like a torch going on back there it just helps add some life to your scene even that it looks pretty cool let me pause that we could do duplicate this light you know a couple times maybe maybe not every single site will happen but maybe there and maybe we'll another one to the other side like lighting up over there and then another one way back over here that's kind of cool let's uh let's render this and then we'll do the Forester thing any questions so far with this just kind of want to show you guys how cool kit bash thing is how fast you can make some cool looking stuff and this is free so you guys should go get it go sign up because they have some really good content and you guys should check out their work they you know they do phenomenal work so this is made by professionals all this great stuff so those are some nice lights that we could add and I could add some back there actually if we want to add a Gadre we could have you know another light shooting through here I mean sorry guys I'm gonna do it what so what I was going to show you is what we could do is if we wanted some type of rope light shining through this like this sunset was coming through here we could do that pretty easily we're just gonna make a fake volumetric light was going on from the Sun since we didn't really get some like God rays coming through there so the I don't know archway so I could add some like that and which name this sun rays obviously this is way too intense you'd want to dial this back quite a bit and the cool thing is with with redshift is if you don't like that it's casting illumination on our objects you can go into project and you can exclude any of these objects so for example we don't want this wall to be affected by the light well I can just grab these objects drop them in and now you'll see that it's a called light linking this light won't hit the walls and I know it's something in octane that you cannot do you see there's no light linking so it's nice because I can just use this light for volume metrics and you can select things that you know objects and just drag them drag them in and it's that easy and that way it's gonna exclude any objects I throw in here if I wanted another sunray we could just add it maybe come through these windows it's probably better just to let you know actual proper light do the laying a light that's properly but you know if you have a specific look in mind that you couldn't achieve with your son or something you do this way so yeah that's just some health tips now let's do some force or stuff hopefully the plugin work alright so go to plugins and forrester and we're gonna do some bushes let me just save this and that bush is huge we're not going to use that Bush so the cool thing that Forrester is they have a huge library of these great plants that you can use and let's say I want to use wild grass and we need to make sure size of this is correct cuz it would be teeny teeny so we have our plant and I'm not going to do any animation on it just for time sake but if you go into the multi cloner and drag it in the multi color then we'll ask you for where it needs to be distributed these plants and you're just gonna say on the plane so all these little dots represent the plants and we can actually turn that off by going to display points and turn it on turn that off and I'm going to add a thousand or maybe five thousand and you can do randomized where they're scattered but because they're kind of all over the place you can start centering them based on a couple of attributes and one of those things is we can paint where they want to be where we want them to scatter and we can do camera linking which is helpful which I believe you just drag your camera in and [Music] what is a camera oh yeah so that it looks like wherever the camera doesn't see it will clip clip those out so I think it was this one oh what's working or a vertex map which is the way I like to to do it so we can just paint a vertex map or polygon selection let's just do a polygon selection or just go to airplane and we can just get a selection tool and let's say we want the plants only to be here on this area then we just go to select create selection so we have this little selection now and then back in our plugin it's going to ask you for the polygon selection and we just drag and drop this in turn all that off and it looks like I need to it looks like it's inverted there it is so let's turn up filter by radius filter there we go we could even have this that's a little too high let's do so now we can see all these little plants scattered and if we feel like that size too small we can make these a little bit bigger and the crazy thing is is this should just render fine with redshift which is even cooler so there it is you can see the plants kind of scattered out all around you pause this and let me take a look at my help my selection so I feel like I kind of paint it too much so I'm going to limit this even more and we're just kind of paint a smaller area so that we're just scattering just a smaller amount and I think we're gonna go like polygons oops deselect polygons this is how it should work and we're gonna go oh boy let's try this again it's light here and I thought we were supposed to go there we go set selection so let's crank this thing up even more so there we go we have those plants and we can easily change you know there's there's a lot of like random stuff you can do in here you can randomize the spacing position scaling which is helpful so it doesn't look like it's just come from the same plant here we go it's strict - why there we go so changes going up and down the rotation astrologist things just to randomize your your clones a little bit more and I may have turned this up that's too big let's go back into our multi cloner into scale of the clones there we go now so that's one thing we can do let's duplicate this thing save and we can change this into a different plant and then we just need to make sure we are changing the random seed value so now I have a different plant and we could do the same thing again anyway you're gonna get it let's hit render David ELISA is wondering about the crash course still working on it I think you guys keep hearing that it's still working on it I'm shooting hopefully here soon with my buddy we're gonna shoot some footage that you guys will be able to use and to practice with and it's part of the horse and so we're gonna be shooting in a studio and getting that all set up for you guys so that should be super helpful as having some footage to use and still working on it though guys thank you for your patience anyway so that's how we did some of this stuff right there and we'll do one last thing we'll be done since this has been going on for quite a bit [Music] maybe we just send it here just because I was gonna do trees but that's a whole other thing anyway I just kind of wanted to show you guys how to use this kit bash and just some of the possibilities with it I mean this is before you even bring into Photoshop so the next thing I would do is take this into Photoshop and we could just do paint over so you just paint over everything in this and add more detail like a like mountains in the background and a whole bunch of good stuff you can all see your red green and blue channels right here by the way and your alpha just thought FYI is there any more questions before we wrap this thing up she want to say thank you guys for coming by ask questions play with the kit bash go to the cache let me just double check things cache 3d I believe yes Kip - 3 D com go check out those things go sign up you get a free one I'm not sponsored that's just because it's a great program I was using Forrester if any of you know about that plugins really good also when you guys are doing some of your composites or your you know and videos check out some of our stuff at the FX Central done that we have just a bunch of lens flares storms fireworks and stuff and also if your ban of VFX t-shirts we have a bunch of VFX t-shirts so I'll go check those out follow us on Facebook Instagram Twitter I'm gonna be trying to do these streams every week and all that good stuff so if there's not any more questions I'm just gonna jump over to this if you guys have any more questions just want to say thanks thanks for hanging out these this videos gonna be pretty much on YouTube and all that jazz so anyway I think skin guys and shoot me questions send me your stuff and yeah talk to you later
