game design is incredibly important to making a great game for a passionate fan base and no other fan base is more passionate than fans of five nights at freddy's so when steel wool announced the next mainline entry into the franchise people were hyped so how did security breaches launch actually go oh i see but how did the game end up so polarizing looking at the game's development teasers for the game back in 2019 hinted at a late 2020 launch date though those plans fell through because well you know the game was quote three times bigger than it was supposed to be so the game was delayed to early 2021 though as this time frame approached no new information was provided until it was announced that the game isn't set to appear until the end of the year more trailers and a few more teasers later the game was finally released on december 16th 2021 with all of those delays surely most of the issues that plagued development would be ironed out i'm trying to get in there better the launch state of security breach was broken to say the least many glitches bugs and other miscellaneous game errors plagued many early playthroughs and one of the biggest issues with this is that most people tend to play a game day one games get their biggest profits in the first few days after release similar to movies in their opening weekends during the first two weeks after launch the game saw an average of about 11 000 concurrent players a day while now that number is down to about 1 000 concurrent players the broken and buggy mess at launch was experienced by most people and for some it ruined the experience more than the bugs however i believe that security breach faced a much deeper issue its core game design and structure with the game at times feeling very disjointed so without further ado how would i redesign fnaf security breach to make it an overall better experience oh yeah quick side note this video is mostly wishful thinking on my end oh and um i'm gonna be spoiling the entire game so be warned for the major changes we're going to change both the game's structure and story significantly changing the primary goal of the game to escape the pizza plex by getting all eight security badges in line with this new objective i'm gonna make the game more linear the original game provided the player with an open area to explore and that isn't changing but the order in which things happen is for most of the game's major events i'm not removing much just shifting around events for a more enjoyable experience the original game gave the player a choice on which animatronics they wanted to destroy but to get the true ending you need to destroy all of them anyway the illusion of choice isn't much better than no choice at all for the sake of having a more coherent experience making a more linear game means a more engaging experience story wise i'm gonna cut william afton from the story entirely his story ends in pizzeria simulator with him burning to a crisp this game should instead focus on continuing the help wanted storyline and this overall new chapter in the story also minor overall change i'm just gonna dim the lights in the entire pizza plex not full on advanced darkness but just enough where the pizza plex feels closed this is gonna be pretty short so let's just get down to it basic mechanics like sprinting jumping and using the flashlight are all staying the same though i believe the phaser blaster and fast cam are going to change ever so slightly the phaser blaster should stun animatronics for a shorter duration as it gives the player more ability to stun the animatronics so i'm adding this in post but in the most recent patch they did indeed make this a feature but my point still stands for the fast cam it should be able to stun multiple enemies for a longer period given its slow recharge speed that's about it for game mechanics that really need to be changed in the base game each of the animatronics serve a different purpose chica is the slow standard enemy roxy is the fast aggressive enemy and monty is this slow prowling enemy in my redesign these are all going to stay relatively the same but i want to add more complexity to their design both chica and roxy will receive glowing eyes similar to freddy in fnaf1 they'll also constantly talk to compliment the darker environments and to alert the player of their presence monty lacks the glowing eyes because of well sunglasses and will be slightly less talkative though his footsteps will be audible for their shattered forms i want to change them significantly chica retains the glowing eyes but now is more aggressive in her movement and she has a faster sprint her voice is also replaced by static thus creating white noise that the player needs to filter out roxy loses her glowing eyes but still talks forcing the player to focus heavily on her vocal cues her hearing is also way more sensitive causing her to be triggered by the use of the phaser blaster or fazcam monty gains glowing eyes but with his lack of legs he makes no noise forcing the player to remain vigilant alright now hour by hour how do i change the game the section stays mostly true to the original serving to teach the player basic movement and game mechanics such as distractions and stealth letting the player deal with chica in the stealth section earns the player the first security badge before moving on to the daycare daycare stays exactly the same and by the end the player earns the second security badge but also gets captured by vanessa now this is where i'm going to slightly deviate from the original game waking up in the security room the player has their first encounter with vani setting her up as the primary antagonist of the game now in the larger pizzaplex environment we learn a freddy being damaged so the player is instructed to head to the employees only area with the stalking weeping angel animatronics giving the player a taste of horror and earning them the third security badge you may remember the backstage encounter but it's moved from this section as i feel it fits better in another area after gaining the third security badge the player is instructed to look in chica's parts and service leading the player to destroy chica and collect the fourth security badge but also ends up in the sewer trash collection area [Music] waking up in the sewer area the player is introduced to chica's new behavior patterns the section ends with vani chasing the player out of the sewer area after which the player repairs freddie though the repair isn't enough the player is instructed to go to roxy's raceway to access her parts and service though it's cut off forcing the player to the backstage encounter from earlier thus gaining the player the fifth security badge after this the player gains access to the phasorblast section teaching the player that game mechanic the player then goes on to destroy roxy in the same way as the original giving the player the sixth security badge and the ability to repair freddie the repairs aren't sufficient the player is instructed to access monty golf though it's blocked by a power outage forcing the player to go down to bonnie bowl bonnie bowl leads into the roxy's fire section teaching the player about her new behavior patterns and after turning on one of the power switches the player gains access to the seventh security badge the player is then instructed to go to music man's area this area serves to teach the player how to avoid multiple broken animatronics at once and the chase scene remains the same the player then flips the second power switch granting access to monty golf the player then destroys monty same as usual and gains the eighth security badge once monty is destroyed vanessa announces over the intercoms that there's quote unquote a reward waiting for you on the main stage once the player investigates the pizza plexus power is shut off now in complete darkness the player must deal with all three broken animatronics on their way to repair freddy this is where i'm going to be heavily altering the game's story and structure so be warned after freddie's final repair he offers to let the player leave the pizza plex as the players collected all eight security badges allowing them to open the front gates similar to the original if the player leaves the pizza plex they earn the bad ending though if the player chooses to stay they must now thwart vanny's plans the player is instructed that vani's hideout lies within the security office requiring a level 9 security badge which is located inside mazer size once arriving the player encounters vani within the maze and must navigate it while trying to avoid her after the player survives the maze the player earns the ninth security badge gaining access to the security office the player must now survive the final stretch of the hour similarly to fnaf1 if the player survives they're awarded the 10th security badge and now we're able to enter vanie's hideout the player and freddie enter vani's hideout which is much larger and located under the pizza plex once realizing the player is in her hideout vani orders all the animatronics to hunt the player in this final section the player inside freddy makes a mad dash through a series of mazes and puzzles setting gas pipes open as vani and the three broken animatronics are chasing them we're going to end this with a bang having the gas catch on fire leaving freddy to protect gregory from the blast gregory wakes up and sees freddie and his damage freddy is alive and well and bada-boom happy ending [Music] though as the credits roll we see vani making it out of the wreckage as well the disappearances at the pizza plex
