something big is happening within Red Bull right now as Daniel Ricardo from Hungary will take over from DeVries until the end of 2023 Ricardo visited the fans of facility in the first half of May to make the seat fitting for the ato4 signaling his interest in joining the Italian team but this isn't just a sign for Alpha Towery it's also one for Red Bull and more notably Perez as it seems that Helmer Marco and Christian Horner are getting ready to replace the Mexican what will happen to Perez if he keeps performing like recently could we see him getting swapped out at the end of the season and will this be for Ricardo or has Red Bull gotten something up their sleeve Marco's been spotted having meetings with high-profile drivers in recent months today we'll fill you in on the near future of the second Red Bull seat Christian Horner commented The Following on the current change regarding Daniel Ricardo it was great to see that Daniel hasn't lost any of his form despite being away from racing the progress that has been seen in the simulator has also been transferred to the track his times during the tire tests were extremely competitive we are delighted that he can spend the rest of the season on loan at Scuderia Alpha Towery the Australian took to the track with the rb19 on Tuesday for the newest Pirelli testing related to the specification of tires without Tire warmers reducing a fastest time 7 temp slower the max verstappen's Pole Position a significant improvement over last weekend's pace which would have placed him in eighth place in qualifying on Saturday I'm thrilled I can't wait to get back on track with the Red Bull family the new Alpha Towery driver announced but Marco sending DeVries away is also a warning to check operas while Red Bull intends to shrink his Academy and form a Dream Team it should be noted that Nick DeVries was first acquired due to a lack of youthful potential in the Red Bull program his experience was deemed to be enough to compensate for the loss of gasly with the Dutchman's performance in Monza last year convincing red ball to take a gamble on him Daniel Ricardo's employment will be a significant boost for Alpha Towery although it is mostly tied to Red Bull's hunt for options to better its present driving lineup this critical period with Alpha Towery will begin with the Hungarian Grand Prix increasing the pressure on Perez if Ricardo confirms what the team expects of him based on his Pace in the Silverstone test and speed in the simulator and checkout continues to deliver inconsistent and dismal results it's not out of the question the Red Bull May contemplate adjustments but what has happened to Perez how could he have fallen off so rapidly this season is it due to him or the car or are other factors in play Sergio Perez informed Formula One journalist that he'd spend the Monday following the 2023 British Grand Prix in Red Bull simulator attempting to find out how to break what has become an unsettling five race qualifying streak and to find out what exactly is bothering him in the rb19 Red Bull claims it supports Perez and has no intentions to replace him for now he's under contract until at least the end of 2024. Perez may be lucky that the team has no true external opposition this year verstappen would win the constructor's title by himself at his current level of dominance and the helmet Marco acknowledges there's no one ready or quickly available to assume Perez's seat however the impending return of Red Bull Reserve Daniel Ricardo to a racing seat with Alpha Towery may change the picture and it's not just Ricardo that's up for the job as helmet Marco has been actively having meetings with high-profile drivers recently following his fifth consecutive q1 retirement on Saturday at Silverstone Perez indicated that the sessions fluctuating lower grip circumstances made my issues with the car become more apparent after finishing sixth after starting 15th Perez was asked about his lack of Saturday form and answered I'll become a little bit more sensitive to the car in the last few races especially on Saturday on low fuel interestingly neither publicly nor privately Red Bull provided a clear reason for this however there is a recurring Trend in what team principal Christian Horner is willing to say about the subject last month in Spain and Canada honor discussed pressure and how Perez was putting too much on himself in his drive to become a champion he advised Perez to relax his shoulders with the evident implication given his poor performance that Perez was having difficulty following this instruction following Silverstone the Horner claimed that the fundamental underlying issue was Perez's personal psyche as in all Sports 90 of it is in the head Horner said Perez isn't the first driver to develop a sensation or a hazy reason for why they suddenly can't perform at the required level Red Bull might perhaps uncover a hidden chassis defect that explains everything but could this have been an issue for five straight races that's unlikely However the fact that both Perez and his team manager are discussing a pattern underlying previous incidents and that Perez is conducting simulator work to attempt to modify that Trend implies that this is something unique to the way Perez is driving the rb19 according to one of Red Bull's own press releases in Spain Perez made a conscious effort to adjust his driving style to the snap and straight super sensitive on the nose I can live with anything the rear throws in the attitude this made sense to some extent everyone knows it's the quickest route of course few if any drivers can do it as well as verstappen which is why he's such a sensation but Perez would have felt compelled to at least attempt to be verstappen at his own game Perez trailed verstappen in the world championship by just 14 points heading into Monaco the round before that driving style adjustment was initially acknowledged crashing out in q1 May Be readily disregarded as an expensive but insignificant error there's no reason to panic Checker's mind was still focused on the title however next to Barcelona a traditional F1 track with predominantly medium to fast long sweeping Corners after 2023's early season sequence of outlier tracks whereas surely knew from the humbling experience of 2022 a run of races between Baku in June and Singapore in September where he was generally miles behind verstappen's Pace that is where verstappen would really begin to make his talent count if you can live with the rear instability that that approach provides getting the rb19 back on its nose is the ideal way to avoid spending excessively extended lengths of time waiting to go back on the pedal in many of those corners attempting to replicate or perhaps improve on this method to press out of his comfort zone he's long been a driver who thrives when the car's front grip or understeer is limited because he has an incredible feel for the slip angle of the rear tires and how to modulate the throttle to avoid bursts of unnecessary wheel spin that overheat the sensitive Pirelli rubber as you bring the car out of the sudden but low speed slides that understeer inevitably creates that is why he performs so well on Street circuits because they generally demand more of the rear tires than the fronts and they generally require the cars to be set up with a degree of understeer built in to help keep rear tires which always tend to the softer end of the compound range intact temperature wise Pirelli changing their Tire structure for this season to eliminate the inherent understeer generated by the previous fronts would need even more bias in this manner on Street circuits playing to Perez's natural style even more when you go into traditional circuits with a larger combination of cornering demands higher speeds tougher tires and natural circuit grip constraints that tend to move more toward the front particularly in cooler weather the trade-offs change drivers like verstappen who are highly skilled at dealing with oversteer on turn entrance may use their braking technique together with the cast setup to prevent elongating the load delivered through that outer front tire as they drive through those longer length High loading corners this pays off nicely especially in races when tires must nearly always be handled and lap time extracted as efficiently as possible it's a significant reason verstappen comfortably defeated Perez in Miami where the front left tire was the main obstacle so going to Barcelona where the front left was once again the key limiting issue Rez would have understood he needed to make radical adjustment two victories on Street circuits a loss in Bahrain and a humiliating failure in Miami given what was to follow the last of those would have weighed the most heavily on his mind however Perez couldn't repair 13 years of deeply entrenched Habit in a single weekend and the consequence was easily his poorest performance of the season to that time Monaco silliness apart the inevitable loss of confidence that comes from misfiring attempts to perform something you're not comfortable with as followed and has likely been compounded under the kind of slippery circumstances the invariably lengthen the effects of every incorrect driving input in the absence of any evident developmental or setup directional shift from Red Bull this would explain Horner's belief that Perez's present struggle is primarily with himself press high on the prospect of a world title with a superior car has refused to accept a submissive role to verstappen that would imply acknowledging his own constraints and shifting his own car into a safer simpler and more compliant performance window if he did this he could be closer to Max than he is right now but he would also be second best on all but a few circuits that's not the method to reach your goals however by attempting to pursue verstappen and adapt to the faster Mana to drive the car Perez has been stuck in a serious way and must now Chase ghosts in Red Bull simulator and now with Ricardo back on the grid Perez must show his worth from Hungary on so Willie still try to adapt his racing style during weekends or will he play it safe and what about those talks helmet Marco held with other drivers despite the driver's problems and changes Red Bull is planning to build a dream team in 2025 or 2026. Liberty Media is determined to persuade the top teams to have two highly competitive Riders to resurrect the show even if only one team dominates Liberty Media realized that repeating Seasons like the 20 20 21 is difficult even with regular resetting of technological rules and the inability of prolonging their existence too much as a result this method is viewed as a realistic possibility for remaining competitive Furthermore with the passing of deer trick matter shits Red Bull was taken over by Oliver minsloff the principal current liaison of Christian Horner and helmet Marco relationships differ from those with die trick in that they have distinct future visions and methods one of these goals is to have a second Elite driver on the squad there are also plans to make the RB Academy more efficient removing some of helmet Marco's Independence as a result Alpha Towery would become a true arrival team in F1 rather than merely passing through giving Red Bull greater Independence in terms of drivers it is no accident that the world championship team's management has approached two Elite drivers whose contracts expire in 2024 and 2025 in recent weeks we're talking about Lando Norris dubbed the best young driver on the grid by helmet Marco and charl declare who is perhaps the most crucial and a surprise name being investigated by the Austrian team there were negotiations with the monogask at the end of May to see if there was any chance that the paths with Ferrari May diverge Red Bull's ambition is to plan for the not too distant future by putting a top driver beside Max verstappen while having a reserve driver on hand it is obvious that drivers like Norris or Leclair will be difficult to get but they would present Red Bull with a brilliant explosive combo that would deliver fireworks in F1 in the case of extend dominance this is just what Liberty Media asks from Red Bull even though Liberty Media is afraid of a domination period Horner isn't as Christian Horner Red Bull team principle has downplayed worries about the F1 Championship leading teams recent Supremacy being prolonged across several seasons the Milton keynes-based team has yet to lose a racist season and when Mercedes dominated between 2014 and 2016 there were concerns about slipping audiences and a lack of race tickets being sold while f1's popularity is extremely strong does Red Bull's domination pose the same risk stability in the regulations will bring all of the teams much much closer together he continued you can see it starting to happen it won't be another seven years of dominance the power units are all now fairly similar and the chassis has evolved much much faster than the engines we can already see from the start of the season so now that things are converging what do you think are we in a prolonged period of Red Bull domination and what about that second Red Bull seat will Ricardo get it next year as a filler War Perez stay or will Red Bull be able to poach one of the two biggest talents on the grid in Norris or Leclair let us know your thoughts in the comments below for now it seems that Red Bull's silly season is just starting out
