bible study is each wednesday via conference call men's fellowship is this saturday at 9 00 a.m on zoom all men of the amount are invited to attend for a time of connection accountability encouragement and prayer please note that men's fellowship is held on third saturdays each month and will return to their regularly scheduled day next month women's fellowship is also this saturday at 9 30 a.m ladies join us on zoom as we continue to grow in faith and love together zoom information for both fellowships can be found on our church app or contact the church office pre-registration is no longer required to attend our on-site worship experiences seats are limited and face masks are still required for admittance we look forward to worshiping with you each week our early morning worship experience takes place on sundays at 7 30 a.m via conference hall the worship service is led by our ministerial staff deacons and deaconess join us every sunday at 9 30 a.m as we study god's word together in sunday school via conference call and our youth and young adult classes meet via zoom we have also excitedly launched our sunday evening sunday school class it's every sunday at 6 00 pm on youtube and facebook we believe that sunday school still matters and we would love for you to come grow with us your mouth and give them praise he's worthy of the glory of the honor he's worthy to be blessed he's worthy to be adored there is absolutely positively unequivocally nobody like our god if you know that to be true in your life why don't you lift your voice lift your hands and give him all the praise that he deserves god we love you we praise you we honor you we praise you we give you glory you are beautiful you're wonderful you're perfect in all of your ways i thank you for being a provider i thank you for being a healer i thank you for being my waymaker i thank you for giving me sight i thank you for giving me salvation i thank you for redeeming me i thank you for being messiness that i had gotten myself into [Music] he was true to his word he said if i be lifted up i will draw you rob i won't leave you out there hanging i won't leave you out there for the enemy to play with and destroy your mess with but i will draw you to me and i will cover you i will protect you i will revive you i will restore you i will re-energize you i will renew you if that's been your experience come on lift up your voice [Music] if you've experienced the awesome power of god if he's made you new [Music] [Music] oh y'all i was a mess am i the only one i was a mess and then one day god told me he said if i wanted you to die i would have taken you out myself why are you doing this [Music] you're better than this i've called you i've anointed you i've appointed you come here [Music] and that's what he's saying to us come here be with me be with me let me be your everything [Music] let me be what sustains you and what fulfills you let me be your source of life your source of joy your source of strength your source of hope let me be it and i said god i surrendered [Music] and i saw how he did a swift work in my life oh it don't take god long once we surrender it don't take them long once we say have your way and mean it [Music] and since then i've been living abundantly oh there's trouble there's trials there's storms but god has given me what i need to outlast the storm yes and so for that i'm grateful i'm grateful if you're grateful if you're grateful you don't have to repeat after me you can just open up your mouth and express your gratefulness however you say it however you communicate with god [Music] that's what this space is for y'all that's what this face is for [Music] i am grateful i [Music] the am that you have done yes i'm grateful for the big his beautiful message at 7 30 this morning on the conference call worship service he talked about the urgency of missions this entire month we're talking about missions and he did a great job reverend tyler was our pulpit leader we thank god for you as well as deacon jenkins and deaconess baloo who gave leadership thank god for our early morning conference call service that's led by deacons and ministers and deaconess today we've already had sunday school i hope you made it to class the lesson was glorifying god how many people made it to class this morning made it to sunday school this morning all right either on the conference call zoom whatever it was how about out there online our online campus did you make it to sunday school this morning let me know put it in the chat you know i'ma go back and read that chat so let me know after i was in sunday school but if you missed it you can catch it at six o'clock tonight on facebook and youtube for our sunday evening sunday school i'm actually the teacher tonight so i hope you'll join me at six o'clock for about 30 minutes we go through the lesson and it's a good catch-up for those of us who may not have made it but we're also trying to grow our class so invite some people to join us at six o'clock tonight speaking of sunday school can anybody was anybody here yesterday no virtually our sunday school retreat sunday school teachers would you stand they're present in worship this morning it's our sunday school ministry come on give them a hand [Music] sister mason is our director we salute you woman of god sister joyce mason that's right give her a hand online give her some kudos she is an amazing leader and director for our sunday school ministry we talked about our accomplishments you may be seated we talked about our accomplishments for 2020 in the virtual world our sunday school continues to grow we are averaging over 300 on the conference line every sunday morning that's something to praise god for in a virtual world our classes are still growing we've added new classes and this year we accomplished our goal of doubling our attendance on super sunday we had over 600 and i think nine people on the conference call line on super sunday so we congratulate you sunday school yesterday's retreat was a may zone wow i'm fired up i'm excited elder michael peyton taught us corrected us inspired us encouraged us challenged us and talked about the vaccination of sunday school something like that the kingdom vaccination that's what we called it the sunday school is the cure and he's right people need the word of god in a time like this where there's so much going on people need to have a sure foundation and that is in the word of god so shout out to the sunday school did an amazing job last week i had a meeting with our ministry leaders to talk about coming back into the sanctuary which we will be coming back into our main sanctuary hopefully within a month or so but i wanted their input and i want to thank those who i spoke to i think was on zoom thank you for your input now i want to hear from the general congregation so this week i'm going to send out a link it will come out by email for our members your ministry leaders will also have the link to send to you the presidents and directors and i'm going to ask every member to fill out the survey it's only five questions somebody say it's only five questions it's pastor no you don't want a long survey all right it's only five questions to take you two minutes but it will help me to know your thoughts because we're a church body and i want to hear from you so that will come out this week please fill it out do me a favor though don't fill it out three and four times because you'll mess up my results one time somebody said one time just fill it out one time i know how this go yeah just one time and then we'll know what people really think last thing we are preparing now for our fall revival pastor terry streeter is on the way he will be here on site right here in this space in the second week in october and he's bringing with him some of the members of his church from the mount pleasant baptist church of washington dc so we're looking forward to that service this year begin to pray now for the revival we'll give you more information as time gets closer all right with that being said i'm supposed to give not so much until it hurts but to the point where you know it's going to help and we really really appreciate everything that we've received to help in the construction and soon the completion of our sanctuary this is third sunday third sunday as most of us know is called gideon's army sunday this envelope here is an is a symbol of that particular way to give we ask that you continue we ask that you again give from from the heart and uh believe me the pocketbook will follow we appreciate everything that you've done most of you know the many ways to give they will all show of this home homegrown part of this house i often refer to him as my sixth man he's the one that you don't see all the time but he's definitely a part of the team and so as our associate ministers have been preaching all month about missions i pulled in the sixth man to help us in that area as well but you know him as uh the son of sister sherry williams and deacon craig williams who are present would you guys stand his mom and his dad are present let's thank god for them [Music] and he's also now a father and a husband sister jessica dr jessica williams i don't know if she can stand or not but uh you have his whole family is there let's have them stand real quick i know he's going to acknowledge you but i want to acknowledge you because you're my guest too this is the williams family dr jessica williams layla ivy aj and dawson and this is most of them either it's their first time or is that first time they remember being here but layla probably remembers thank you so much got a little bit older now i got my first gray hair on my goatee and i lord i was like what is going on so so i'm just grateful to be alive but you know what i was uh i was i was up this morning pretty early just because of our our time zone difference and i was just thinking about the sermon and thinking about the word and thinking about what god wanted to say and and for some reason there was a song that came on my mind and i just want to know if y'all would just sing it with me it's very very simple very very a very common song y'all ready how can i say thanks for the things you have done for me [Music] things so undeserved yet you prove your love for me the voices of a million angels cannot compare my gratitude [Music] all that i am and hope to be [Music] i think the song says to god [Music] be the glory to god be the glory [Music] i said i just wanted to get that off my spirit this morning he's so good so good so good so worthy so worthy so worthy listen i want to just quickly acknowledge the chief shepherd of this house [Music] i would say the the woman the myth and the legend uh the honorable dr sanja dawson who is the chief shepherd of his house thank you so much for this opportunity yeah we can do better than that we can celebrate her [Music] she is an amazing pastor leader strategist [Music] mean what what what can't she do amen and to uh the lady i guess she's my granny i'm just gonna call it granny to my grandmother he's here let's shout out granny if possible while we're standing i want to honor my mother and my father who were both in the room but now i get the opportunity to introduce to some of you i don't think none of you have actually met all of my family you've met portions of my family but i'm so happy to have my wife jessica here with me my daughters laila ivy alyssa we call her aj and my only son my only son his name is dawson asher williams i'm so excited for him to be here i i tried to tell him i said listen you are named after your great-grandfather and his name was lonnie dawson and so this is your standing in your legacy and so for me that that that just warms my heart that makes this trip even more important because i'm able to share with them the history and the impact that that their great-grandfather was able to make on this community and now their great aunt i'm just saying i don't want to say great art there aren't there aren't we can have on this community and if the lord says the same maybe one day one of them will be able to do the same thing too so i'm very excited about that but let's begin let's begin with the word i'm excited what the lord has to say you know this is mission sunday and so it's important that we highlight an impact uh beyond just the four corners of this building but we want to transform the world we want to be able to impact the world and so i believe this sermon will find its way there but i just wanna i wanna hop right in so if you can and will open up your bibles uh to psalms look of psalms of psalms [Music] if it's customary to stand for the reading of the word let us do so and as you stand we will pray before we read heavenly father we thank you for this day we thank you god for all that you have done all that you are doing and all that you will do god i don't know what you're doing right now but i do know that you're up to something i know god that you are working things together for our good and for your glory your word says that when we call that you will answer and while we are yet speaking you shall hear so god hear our petition as we come to you today lord i pray that you would bless this word father i pray god that you would allow me to be your vessel lord don't let me speak unless you speak don't let me move unless you move don't allow a word to come out of my mouth and it is from your spirit i pray that it is on fertile ground father for to jesus name we pray amen psalms 124 psalms 124 i'm going to be reading from the niv version we're going to read the entire pericope it is eight verses very quickly but we shall read and it says this what if the lord had not been on our side [Music] let all israel repeat what if the lord had not been on our side when people attacked us they would have swallowed us alive in their burning anger the waters would have engulfed us a torrent would have would have overwhelmed us yes the raging waters of their fury would have overwhelmed our very lives praise the lord who did not let their teeth tear us apart we escaped like a bird from the hunter's trap the trap is broken we are free our help is from the lord who made heaven and earth if you can and will i know corona is alive and well so i'm not going to ask you to touch anybody but if you can point to somebody and just let them know the title of my sermon it's time for a recall come on look at somebody else and say it's time for a recall time for a recall you may take your seat in the name of the lord save you jesus christ although i am currently living in atlanta georgia i keep a watch on the news that's taking place in the state of california and it has been a national uh outcry and it is found on local as well as international news stations such as msnbc cnn and bbc that there was uh a group of individuals who uh attempted to take place and create what has not taken place in the state of california in the last i believe it's 13 years and that was to recall governor gavin newsom and some of you might have had to go into the polls and to select uh to choose to re-enstate or ensure that he is able to continue out his tenure as the governor and and although it was an unsuccessful attempt uh by the opposite party to allow this to happen it i believe that it serves a great purpose for our message today i don't take uh any political stance i'm not here to know if you voted for it or against it but i i do believe that that the the lord wants to show us something about the power of the recall somebody say recall all right webster's dictionary defines the recall uh as bringing back to mind it is it is the ability to to remember it is a revelation uh that is somewhat counter-cultural uh and unfortunately not germane to who we are as people today we are reared and raised uh in a culture of information overload information overlay we we are exposed to so much information on any given day that we are unable to recall or remember many times what we had for dinner last night i i i can prove it here we go let's do a poll those that are online those in a room i'm going to ask you one quick question with the show of hands i'm certain many of you have social media so for those that do how many people remember the very first first post that they read this morning how many people remember the very first picture they saw on instagram this morning how many people remember what you watched on television two nights ago you proven my point we are in a season in a world of information overload and although this may be uh okay when it comes to social media uh and it may be okay when it comes to life but it becomes problematic when it becomes to the understanding of who god is this theory of amnesia uh is not only prevalent uh in today's day and time it was also very real and prevalent in the text that we read on this morning uh the issue uh was so pervasive in the life of the believer that god actually had to embed into the reminding of into the mind of the individuals that were living during the time that this text was written that they had to have a calendar of events to remind them of who god was they were called festivals and with every single festival that came about uh within the course of the hebrew calendar the israelites had to descend to the city of jerusalem and because the temple set up high they would ascend up the hill uh and to go into the church to give god praise and so god knew that his people would suffer from amnesia and that they would forget all of the things that he had done for them so he placed it in their calendar so that they could recall what he's done i got bible to back me up check this out uh for example the israelites uh every year even up to this day they celebrate something called passover passover it is a yearly tradition and it it dates back to to when when the wonderful one uh of moses went to pharaoh and said let my people go and unfortunately he said no and so uh the instruction was for them to take uh the blood of a lamb and put it on the doorpost so that when the death angel would cross over or passed over the house that he would not kill the firstborn so so so it is the the tradition of the blood uh covering the door and i don't know who is in the house today that wants to believe that but there's there's something powerful about the blood i think they used to sing a thing back in the day i know it was the blood i i know it was the blood i know it was the blood for me one day when i was lost he died upon the cross i know it was the blood for me [Applause] now historically we don't know when the festival was when this text was written and we don't understand and we cannot recall historically what was surrounding this event that caused it to be written but i am confident uh if i can so boldly claim uh that this was written for us right now the first thing the text teaches us is that we need to recall the person watch this verse number one it says if the lord had not been on our side let israel say no not now now this confused me because verse 1 and verse 2 say the exact same thing why in the world would they write it twice now this was pinned by david right so so david is writing this song of a sin and it's an important process that we're understanding because this is david this is the mighty man of valor this is this is this is david the one that that was after god's own heart this is this is david the one that killed tens of thousands this is this is david the the leader of the of the israel people this is this is david who who ushered the ark this this is david this is this is the one who was so key and king why would he write it twice i think we actually brought this tradition it's called the call and response uh let's practice uh uh let the church say amen come on let the church say amen again it is a call and response so so it wasn't that david was trying to be annoying it wasn't that david was trying to repeat himself he said it twice because he wanted the people to see that he was the example david knew that they lived in a culture where you can see and experience god's grace in one season and then you can forget about the same grace that god gave you in the next uh it's called spiritual amnesia it is the temporary inability to recall the consistency of god in the midst of familiar trouble i'ma say that again for the note takers spiritual amnesia is the temporary inability to recall the consistency of god in the midst of familiar troubles so so so we can sit in our own mess pray for god to heal us pray for god to deliver us pray for god to set us free to do the unbelievable and impossible we can see god answer that very same prayer and then in a new season with something similar showing up we then go and cower and fear and walk with the lack of faith that we just experienced the season before it's called spiritual amnesia it's so true i got bible to back me up for those of you that don't believe it we just talked about the gideon's army right we got people in here that are representing gideon's army but it's so true when gideon was able to take the 300 and they're able to be gideon was able to live long and they were able to prosper and the bible says that when gideon died no sooner than his body was in the ground the bible says in judges 8 34 and they did not remember the lord their god who rescued them from the hands of the enemy on every side they had just been set free they had just battled it out and were able to secure the land and somehow some way they still forgot but this is what's so amazing about the god that we serve god said because i know that you're going to forget because i know that you're going to have amnesia at times i'm going to give you somebody named jesus uh but so much so that i told the isaac told the prophet isaiah i'm going to call him emmanuel the god who is with us so no matter what in the world you're going through you may forget who i am but you won't forget what i've done and is there anybody in the building that say i know i've been going through a little bit of mess i know i've gone through a little bit of hell this year but i'm so glad to know that god is still with me see that's why your faith can't be built on experience your faith has to be built on god's consistency see the strength of your praise is based on how well you can recall where god brought you from see that's why you can be in the grocery store shopping and then remember the time when you didn't have money to buy the food that you needed and then all of a sudden you say thank you jesus see that's why you can be driving in your car and then all of a sudden a car weaves by and you're able to move out of the way and you say god it could have been me that was dead sleeping in my grave but thank you jesus yeah yeah it could have been the moment when you thought that corona was going to get you but all of a sudden god was able to just protect you in this season see i don't know who i'm talking to but i want to know is there anybody in the building that can say i've been through hell and back but thank god i can recall what he's done for me if it had not been for the lord who was on my side where would i be come here moses i got bible i got to back me up what i see doesn't change who god is but who god is can change what i see i'ma say that again what i see doesn't change who god is but who god is can change what i see come here moses moses said who should i say that you are he said tell him i am i am he said yeah tell him i am tell him i am that i am i i am that i am in other words i will be whatever you need me to be uh in the season that you need me to be uh so so if you don't know what you're gonna make it through i want you to know i gave you jehovah raha uh the lord is my shepherd yeah you didn't know uh where you're gonna get it from so god said i'm gonna be your jehovah jireh or the lord who does provide yeah yeah you don't know where you're going to get healed and he said i'm going to be jehovah rapha the lord who heals you so so you don't have to remember you just need to know that i am that i am that i am that i am the holy spirit is saying i know that you might have forgotten what i've done but don't you dare forget who i am see sometimes we forget not only who god is but we can sometimes forget what he's done see that's what david said twice so yeah i know i know i know i know you know but but just in case i want you to remember that it was god who saved us protected us kept us i don't want you to become so arrogant and assume that it is you and you alone it is not you it is god himself the fact that you're standing breathing living the fact that you got up this morning and put clothes on your back and had food on your table the fact that you could breathe without a respirator that is proof in and of itself that i am god so don't you ever assume or arrogantly think that you are the reason why you are here today that is the lie uh that is the devil confusing you and allowing you to assume that you are who you think you are you are nothing you are but dust you will come and go but i am god i am consistent i am that i am oh my goodness so so the second thing i i want to make sure i'm good on my time the second thing uh that i see the second thing we have to recall is the problem look at look at the verse look at verse number two uh it says in the b clause of it it says when the people attacked us they would have swallowed us alive the anger flared against us the flood would have engulfed us the torrent would have swept over us the raging waters would have swept us away lord i don't have time for this okay everything that was just mentioned is the picturesque portrait of how the enemy likes to attack us look at it he says he says number one i'm gonna try people i'm trying to get you through the people that are closest to you as we said look at the text he says when the people attacked us they would have swallowed us alive not only did this is the people he also said okay if i can't get you through people i'ma get you through emotions how many people know that we deal with spiritually immature and emotionally mature people their anger flirt up against us the flood would have engulfed us now watch this not only did he say i'll deal with the people he said the devil will try to use his emotions uh he'll also try to go after your stuff the waters will engulf us now here here's the thing the goal of the enemy is trying to get you to think that god doesn't care about you and that you are gonna go through the season that you're going through alone that god will somehow leave you out to dry and you will experience hardship that he will not step in to protect you uh but but watch this even if he does not change the situation he can still use the problem for our good look at the story of israel i can prove it israel will go from worshiping god to being captured after they're captured they're then delivered and after they're delivered they go back to worshiping god and then all of a sudden they get captured they fall by their wayside they get captured they get delivered they go back to worshiping god this is a cycle that takes place throughout the entire old testament but what does that tell us that tells us that god's grace is not tied to what i've done but it's tied to who he is that even in my own mess god can still see me through oh i got i got bible to back me up come here david psalms 23 yea though i walk through the valley of the shadow of death i shall fear no evil for for you are with me thy rod and my staff they comfort me okay when i was growing up in sunday school and praise god for sunday school i needed it hey man uh sunday school i always assumed that the rod and the staff were the same thing the rod and the staff are two different instruments the rod was used to protect the sheep the staff was used to direct the sheep in other words god is saying to us that even when things don't make sense i want you to recall that i still got you that even during a pandemic i want you to recall that i still got you i know that you lost your job during the pandemic that's direction but i got in the minds of the government to have a extended eviction moratorium so that you don't lose your house protection uh you you lost the relationship direction but but i'm working on your emotional maturity so that you can keep the next one protection i know you've lost temporal things direction but but i don't want you to think i don't want you to think that you've lost your mind your joy your peace that's protection everybody's trying to hustle everybody's trying to get it but i want you to know that i'm going to be your protection and your direction [Music] okay not only do we need to recall the person amen not only do we need to recall the problem we also need to recall our praise i'm sitting over there as the spirit was moving i said this ain't the mountain i remember it's a different kind of mouth it's a little salt and seasoning on this spot the holy ghost is moving i thought i heard i heard some tongues i said well hold up that's about to cost them i don't know that right there now watch this verse six it says praise the lord who did not let their teeth tear us apart we escaped like birds from a hunter's the trap is broken and we are free oh helper is from the lord who made heaven and earth now this confused me this confused me everything that was written was written in the past tense look at the text look at the entire periphery all eight verses none of it was written in present tense it was all written in the past what does that tell us david's telling us if you don't have proof enough let me be your testimony for those of you who doubt god's goodness the fact that it's in the price tense means that if they survived it they survived it they weren't in it they survived it look at somebody tell them i'm a survivor yeah yeah look at somebody say i'm a survivor the fact that i'm still here the fact that i'm standing the fact that i'm living the fact that i'm breathing uh that is proof in and of itself that the lord was on my side look now this is this is the part that gets me look at verse 8 it says that our help is from the lord who made heaven and earth now where have we heard that before that's a very familiar verse somebody said it psalms 121. i will lift up my eyes to the heels from which cometh my help my help comes from the lord who made heaven and earth you missed it you missed it david didn't just praise god for what he did he used the word to recall to his mind that god had done so see who used the word to edify the word so he could praise god with the word [Applause] i hear somebody saying i'm on the other side of the toughest season of my life and i'm telling you right now that in everything that i've done and everything that i've experienced that the devil is a liar i want you to understand that everything that you've been through was not wasted that somebody in here needs to recall what god has pulled you through uh that sometimes when you are in the midst of the something crazy that you got to remind yourself of the word i know that coronavirus is going crazy but the bible says that the suffering of this present time is not worthy to be compared to the glory that shall be revealed to us also when they're talking about you i want you to just recall that no weapon that's formed against me shall prosper and every tongue that rises in judgment shall be condemned when i feel like i'm lost and i'm not going to make it i want you to recall in your mind that that we know that all things work together for good for those that who are called according to his purpose uh when i'm tired and i want to lose my mind i have to recall that god said that he'll wait on the lord and that he renew your strength like that you will mount up on wings like an eagle that you shall sow and you shall run and not be weary that you shall walk and not think to uh when i can't stop crying over what they did to me i have to recall that weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning when they walk out the door i want you to recall that god said i'll never leave you nor forsake you when i when i don't have enough energy to see it through i want you to recall now unto him who is able to keep you from falling uh when the rest of the world is losing their mind i have to recall what god's saying that he'll keep me in perfect peace what the enemy meant for evil god meant for my good or when the world is struggling to find their joy and their peace i've got to recall the joy unspeakable and full of glory i've got to recall what god has brought me from what god has pulled me through the fact that i'm standing here by myself when everybody else doubted where i was gonna make it when everybody else doubted how i was gonna see it through the lord said i recall i want you to recall i want you to recall what i've done [Applause] recall if it had not been for the lord who was on my side where would i be where would i be yeah yeah i don't know your testimony i know my testimony [Music] i don't know what you've been through but i know what i've been through i think it's already said when i look back over my life when i think things over all of my good days are way my bad days and i won't complain [Applause] i just want you to take a moment i want you to fixate your mind on everything that you've experienced in the last 12 months i want you to fixate on your mind the fear that you had to walk around with it i want you to fix it in your mind the fact that god was able to still keep you i want you to fixate in your mind the fact that he brought you out of one of the toughest seasons not everybody made it out but the fact that you're still here is proof that god's not done with you yet so if you don't have proof enough i need to just recall what god has if the lord [Music] had not been on my side where would i be is there anybody in the building that can say thank you thank you thank you for what you've done oh i don't know about you but i feel the holy ghost and he said i know that i know that i know that i know that i know that i know that i know that i know done for you no money in the bank but you still got food on the table no gas in the car but you still made it to the house of the lord children after the fool but somehow they're still okay god will recall it's time for a recall recall we called car i didn't have anything but you when the bills i weighed the money in the bank which just still made it happen i got a recall oh my god when i didn't know how i was gonna take care you recall you brought me through i didn't know how the marriage was gonna see through but i had to recall that you brought me from a mighty long way recall somebody said he was my brother and my sister he was a doctor in the sick room he was a lawyer in the courtroom he was by my side i got a recall [Applause] [Music] i just hear somebody i just want to put a praise right there i just feel the holy spirit saying i want you to seal this word with just a wave offering i want you to seal this word with the dancing of your feet with the hollering of your mouth even worth it should i even continue was it even worth making it another day but let me be a witness for you let me be your proof let me be your david and you'll be if it had not been for the lord who to have children but couldn't and all of a sudden the lord opened the door recall recall don't let us walk out of this building without recalling what he's done now watch this i'm gonna hook you here charles spurgeon said it like this have you no wish for others to be saved and you yourself are not saved good is it to recall what god has done for us if we're not willing to share it with somebody else it's mission sunday it's a whole month about me go ye therefore make disciples make disciples [Music] so good i think paul wrote it like this he said if they're trying to figure out my qualifications he said you're my pistol you're my letter you i want you recall what i've done for you you remember where i brought you from you remember how i saw you when everybody else doubted when everybody else questioned when everyone else was uncertain unsure but somehow some way i made sure that you were okay now the fact that you recall i want you to go and help somebody else see what i've done i want you to be the david i want you to be the one that goes into the highways and the byways i want you to support the the haitian relief efforts i want you to go out and support the people who are still suffering from the hurricanes what good is it to gain the whole world and lose your soul i'm gonna put a twist on what good honor what good is it to be saved and sanctified but not help another person what good is it [Music] what good is it to recall to shout and to dance and yet still have no burden no push no pull to help somebody else to walk up the street and see somebody homeless and pass by [Music] you could at least pray if nothing else being in a season in the life where we can we can be on the freeway see an accident and get frustrated because it's holding us up from where we want to be we have to recall where god brought us from says of old you say a mighty mighty lord listen my little sunday school message is over but you're serving god it was so amazing and all that he's done who's brought us [Music] is [Music] [Music] all right i wanna extend an altar call very quickly very quickly i'm going to extend it also calls this is so important online this is so important this is the most important part of the service because this part is for you this part is for you here in the building upstairs and overflow this part is for you listen the bible is very clear but says harden not your heart i love that verse not your heart he said if i knock i want you to open the door let me in and there are some people right now in the building and online who who have never experienced god in his fullness you you can recall somehow some way how you made it through but you never knew that it was god who had done it and somehow through this message you are now reminded you can remember you can now see that it was the lord who was on your side and you want to be able to be introduced to this person uh named god who sent his son named jesus uh to walk the earth and to be our example you want to know and be able to experience in your own power and flesh the joy that was that is being experienced throughout this building the bible is so clear listen the enemy is not he is not telling you uh to not come he he wants you to just stop he wants you to not hear the words that are coming out of my mouth but the devil is a liar i want you to know that god wants you he needs you he desires you he wants you to come and if that's you if there's anybody online in the building that feels like that i have somehow some way forgotten who god is and what he's done but i want to be reintroduced i want to i want to be able to have my own experience with him then i want you to just in the chat someone is there ready for you and in the building i want you to just just reflect on this and to the person who has somehow somewhere you know god you know who he is and what he's done in fact at some point in time in your journey you are a part of the christian experience but you you wandered away [Music] you went on to your own vices you did your own thing and god said listen just as the prodigal son i am standing waiting arms open ready for you to come home you might have forgotten temporarily but but this message was sent to remind you even in this moment who he is and what he's done and he's saying listen no matter how far you slitting back i'm right behind you holding you up i won't let you go too far i won't leave you nor will i forsake you i am standing by your side waiting for you to come home and lastly to the person who needs a church home listen what good is it to recall what he's done and you cannot be in fellowship with others who can help you also recall what he's done as well you need to be planted you need to be planted a tree cannot cannot grow on its own it has to be planted rooted into some good soil this is great soil this is a great church filled with great people who love god and who are called according to his purpose i want you to connect with new mount caliber connect with this amazing pastor they say put your hand in the hand of the preacher put your heart in the hand of god i want you to connect to this house so again to the person who wants to be saved who wants to remember who wants to know god for themselves to the person who is looking for a church home and the person that's a backslider this part of haiti near port-au-prince the nation's capital since the july earthquake over 1400 people have died as a result and many haitians are still recovering from a previous earthquake in 2010 that left the country devastated there are 11 million people living in haiti they are not only suffering with the after effects of the recent earthquake but they are also suffering from gang violence political corruption a pandemic threats of a tropical storm and the recent assassination of their president the haitian people need our help this world is filled with pain need isolation and despair we at new mount calvary are blessed to be in a position to help others through the work of our missions department the missions department is the ministry of the church that focuses on helping others through acts of mercy and compassion right now we are in the process under the leadership of our pastor we are raising funds to help our brothers and sisters in haiti our swift and immediate action is needed during the month of september we are asking you the faithful and loving members of new mount calvary and our ministry friends to help us by giving a special offering for foreign mission haiti
