Real-world DJI T50 versus T40 Comparison. CAN IT SPRAY HILLS?

it's game over these drones will spray hundreds and millions of Acres what are you doing climb up the [Music] hill yeah give me a fist pump it sounds different you hear that oh oh oh it's getting real close let's just hope start climbing start climbing that DJI has gotten this right how's it going folks I'm Mike with new way egg today I'm going to show you guys the t50 my first impressions of flying it going over it a little bit if you guys haven't seen the unboxing with Taylor make sure to go over there and watch that we're going to start on the t50 there's quite a few different things that you're going to notice on the t50 the arms are beefier they're heavier the esc's are also bigger the latching for the arms I feel like that's a big upgrade you got this little little extra safety that you have to click to get that thing to open I also like how they ran the cables not right through the arms where it bends every time on the t40 it comes out and it goes right into the arm so when you move that it's bending those wires every time radar is bigger the lights are mounted differently the flipping down to access the motherboard you can get into it nicer there we got a different camera up in the front the pumps are a little bit bigger on the t50 you got the atomizers basically the same thing the motor is the same thing the props they paint it white the batteries are the same as the t40 so you're not going to have to upgrade on batteries the big radar on the t50 you don't have that on the t40 basically the footprint of the Drone is the same the same Motors but the software is what I'm after here in Ohio and Indiana we get into some really hilly stuff and I'm hoping that this Radar really changes how this thing operates so we created a flight route for this thing to start at those trees it's going to be flat and then it climbs a good bit and I'm going to put the t40 out there first we're going to see if the t40 can climb that on auto and then we're going to take the t50 out there if the t50 does this then I am super excited you could say well just s Hill it there's times when we are spraying and it is narrow and long and that long is flat on one end and then Hill on another end so I don't want to spray the whole long field like you know short [Music] route dude I totally forgot to let you guys know we are taking the drones off of the best drone spray trailer on the market it's the new way a trailer you can get it from us directly or you can now buy it from a aggr spray drones retailer absolutely built this trailer to be the most efficient drone spray trailer on the market you got one solid composite deck up top super light think loaded you're looking at only like 133% tongue weight that was the biggest thing when we started designing this trailer is getting this weight [Music] right all right we got the t40 loaded up we got 99% battery we've only put uh 7 gallons of fluid in it let's go fly this t40 and watch it crash into the side of that Hill there so I'm just going to to uh fly it over to the start point and then about right here I'm going to hit the start button it's going to upload the mission slide it and now it's going to execute it it's going to go into its start position here it goes it's turning it on come on baby 22 ft per second right there look at that I mean absolutely hauling it is the t40 going to climb fast enough to get it up there it's doing pretty good okay no no okay it's within 5 ft of the hill right now like what I have to do I have to push it up I got to pull it back and then I have to hit the resume button so we're going to try to see if it would then climb up the hill once it actually gets back on its route it's doing pretty good right now oh oh oh it's getting real close Okay no see so it stopped again so Jason just mentioned that we could turn on auto obstacle bypass let's turn that on so we have that set as a hotkey on L2 now the Drone is only going to go to 23 some feet per second so here it goes it's it's going to do it but you know that's not what this test is about I want to know can the t50 Go full speed up that hill we're going to land it on the top of the new way a trailer people think no there's not enough room there's plenty of room you get this thing right where it needs to be drop it down takes a little bit to become a good pilot but lude we's plenty of room between this drone and that drone if we walk over over here now we're right here by our batteries let's take this t50 up and see what it can [Music] do all right we are going to start on this screen you will see that this screen on the t50 is a little bit different than the t40 so the software is different let's just hope that DJI has gotten this right all right this is the exact same field that we flew with the T 40 just now here it goes first time ever taking off a t50 I'm going to take this controller like this okay here we go t50 please t50 work here we go come on t50 don't let me down okay so it's not quite 32 ft per second 28 29 30 31 32 it's 32 feet per second come on baby come on are you going to climb climb start climbing start climbing ah I was hoping I'd be so fired up let's reset it see if it's going to work so it resets it okay so it's slowing down see it's slowing down now it's climbing it's doing better than t40 come on keep climbing you're doing it ah I was hoping it works okay coming back restarting it resum come come on t50 process that come on climb climb DJI get it figured out make it process faster okay we'll turn auto obstacle bypass on this next round it is doing well there there is 32 ft per second it sounds different you hear that quiet it has a different sound to it maybe it took a little bit of time for it to process that there's a hill there maybe this time it'll it'll climb up it it might come on 50 climb 50 start climbing Climb come on climb up the hill t50 lets me down Let Me Down [Music] Easy t50 flat land let's see you do work here here we go okay so here it goes it's speeding up 28 29 30 it's doing it come on are you doing it you're going fast start climbing start climbing start climbing start climbing go go go go keep go keep going keep going come on baby it's doing it keep going oh it's doing it yeah oh don't stop what are you doing what are you doing it's ah no that's horrible so it kind of worked so that's what I figured it was going to do originally I mean that just went up the hill it kind of worked okay I'll I'll give it would do thatat First Impressions I started at 10 ft and I wanted it to climb up this hill it did not do that I was a little let down but there's still hope what I was hoping I could do in this is send it out there and it just like you you know no no stopping just right up the hill and right back down it we're going to try it at 12 hopefully it does so here we go let's try it at [Music] 12 come on come on t50 come on t-50 start climbing start climbing start climbing dude it's going it's doing better it's not great but it's doing it dude I'll take it I'll take that yeah I'll take that had more time to think at 12 ft come 12T perfect let's go yeah it is way better than t40 it can process that hill at 12T it's stopped once I think we go 14 ft and it's going to totally do that [Music] okay so DJI did a software update where you can choose Hill mode now on the t40 so Hill mode right here I choose that then I'm going to choose that flight route again I'm going to go in here and I'm going to up the target height so here we go 15 ft per second 23 28 30 32 33 Okay the last time it stopped right here at the edge is it going to climb okay so it's sensing it already no okay what's it doing okay it's not going to do not much so that was at 14 ft uh t40 in Hill mode did not work not even close not even close okay t40 it's your time to retire [Music] okay so we're going to change it to a flat land we're going to see if it climbs as good I liked how much better it was coming down yep it was way smoother on Mountain hilly mode okay so flat land right now we're 32 ft per second it's it's climbing yep start climbing you go t50 you go t50 you got it yep yep you see you see that rocking thing it does come on it's doing good dude it's doing it dude yeah it's doing it dude uh okay it's rocking a little bit it's okay that's all right I can deal with that I can deal with [Music] that we want to do 14 ft Mountain mode with a 50 because we did flat land it was a little jerky I'm in flat mode so I go back to Mountain hilly Orchard Auto obstacle bypass when enabled I'm going to turn this off here we go do your thing it looks cool with those uh White props that is for sure yep so it definitely it's it's starting to climb already we're 32 ft per second come on start climbing yep it's doing it's doing great dude it is doing [Music] good dude dude it's doing good it totally totally does it come on come on yeah let's go here smack me DJI look at you yeah give me a fist pump that's what we need now I want to see it come down the hill you see how much faster it's dropping I mean that is right there it's game over these drones will spray hundreds and millions of acres in America that drone justtin press the out of it I can't tell you how happy how excited I am you know the video started out at 10 ft didn't work but 14 all day long so I'm excited okay so we're going to clean the hose that's another nice feature oh look at that that's nice so the t40 couldn't do that it's was supposed to do it on a software update it's pumping out the rest of the fluid that's inside the tank it'll just dump it out like that there's definitely some good good things about it no doubt about it okay so the t50 is coming back to land on top of the flight deck I am excited yes I started it off at 10 ft I was a little disappointed that the computer wasn't reading it fast enough at 10 ft but at 14 ft it can totally do it climbing up this steep hill and now that we know that the t50 by climbing these Hills faster like it just did it's going to increase our acres per day it could be AB absolutely crazy once we get this system completely figured out that's all I got for you guys on
