yo so guys welcome back to another video this is another lumineer reaction firstly i want to not apologize for not posting because i was a bit sick at the start of the week and it's been christmas so i've sort of been focusing on seeing family and stuff but this is probably my longest sort of video drought for probably the last two to three months so i apologize for that in terms of maybe i should have posted a bit here and there but i'm now back and i'm feeling fresh and feeling good i've still got the reminiscence of the the cold i had but i feel good and yeah i've come back to see i've hit 100k i was wanting to see me hit 100k whilst being awake but it happened right like i think it's probably about eight o'clock in the morning and i woke up at like 10 i see that i hit 100k and i was baffled but yeah the last month the last month especially but obviously the whole year but the last month especially has been ridiculous it's like 43 000 new subscribers it's going crazy at this point i'm get like one to two k's new subscribers a day which is crazy but yeah i can't really put into us how ridiculous it is and i'm just sort of like blown away i just didn't really expect this to ever happen and it's now suddenly sort of blown up the channel's doing crazy you guys are loving the reactions and it's just happenings it's just sort of passing by and i'm not really taking the chance to really appreciate it which is sort of what i have done over the christmas period and now hit 100k i'm just kind of like well what's next i mean it's just wild man and i want to do a sort of special video for it i don't really know what i could do because i'm not really good with the edits as you will probably know i'm not really into that kind of stuff but i am trying to learn it and the more i get into this the more serious i take it the more i do want to do that but yeah just thank you honestly it's crazy and i'm just hoping this continues maybe not to this degree because the last month has been ridiculous but still just just to see where things go from here but again if you have any sort of videos you would like me to do for 100k kind of special maybe a q a i've had suggestions for that in the past i just don't really know if people would be interested in that but if you are or other things maybe like a compilation of a video of me just being stupid i don't know we'll just see but just suggest things if you are interested and yeah we'll hopefully see well i'll hopefully see some good suggestions that i like the sounds of and yeah i'm rambling at the start of this it's probably expected because it is my first video in a long time and i have just hit 100k but yeah let's get into this reaction there's another lamino one i love the channel he's one of my favorite sort of videos to react to and he has just the craziest sort of theories that he just sort of has topics in his videos and i just find them quite enjoyable but let's get into this one let's see what he has to say in this um the grave by by the apocalypse i don't really know what he means by that but let's just get into this man just remember the flash of an atomic bomb can come at any time there is a bright flash brighter than the sun brighter than anything you've ever seen this is very very important sometimes the bomb might explode without any warning without any warning without any warning [Music] his editing is so slick man on these african planes some sixty 000 years ago our ancestors began migrating north a trek that would ultimately give rise to modern day civilization and it's nothing short of a miracle that we've progressed as far as we have especially in such a short amount of time it's really not that difficult to see why intelligent life may be extremely sparse across the universe given how absurdly fortunate we've been so many things could have gone wrong along the way and so many times it almost did oh so it's gonna touch upon like i'm assuming things like asteroids that nearly hit planet or certain just certain events that have nearly caused the our extension basically and yeah i'm going to be interested in this maybe he's going to touch upon things that could happen in future as well we'll see but if this is the case i'm going to enjoy this a lot man [Music] on the morning of the 12th of august 1883 mexican astronomer jose bonilla was observing the sun when numerous ufos began to sweep across the solar disk the objects were surrounded by a coronal haze and left behind a trailing mist the phenomenon continued for two consecutive days and bonilla counted 405 objects in total as the event could not be explained the ufos were simply dismissed as birds insects or dust passing in front of the telescope but based upon bunnies description of the event coupled with an improved understanding of various astronomical phenomena an article published in 2011 hypothesized that the objects were fragments of a comet nearly colliding with the earth the only bodies in the solar system that leave trails and are surrounded by a bright haze are comets and much like this comet observed in 2006 we now know that fragmentation is a frequent occurrence it is estimated that the comet broke into more than 3 200 fragments ranging in size between 50 and 1000 meters in diameter and sailed past the earth at the distance of no more than a few thousand kilometers had only one of these fragments struck the planet it could have resulted in millions of casualties had all or at least a significant portion of the fragments impacted the earth we're looking at an extinction level event but it's ridiculous i remember learning in geography about all these kinds of geography or science isn't it geography it was science it was one of the two i think it was it was science it was definitely science but like you'd always learn about was it geography i don't even know but you know it was geography because in geography you don't i'm actually gone one of the two and um you'd always learn about like how there was actually really frequent occasions like when asteroids are so close to hitting the earth and it's just like it's crazy how like it makes you realize how vulnerable we are but how vulnerable the earth is in general like in an instant like that in a sort of a situation that we just couldn't stop um the whole sort of any species on the planet would just be extinct and it's just like because i mean it happened to the dinosaurs it's definitely going to happen again don't know when touch touchwood is not going to happen anytime soon but you just don't know honestly you don't know with the space because it's just it's just it's a sort of um a thing that we don't really know too much about and how sort of things like that happen and how regular they are but they do happen a lot and you always like here on like facebook which always facebook is the worst place like things like facebook or twitter all this asteroid is going to hit on the 30th of march and people always prepare for it it's something that never happens but it's just one of those things that people do look out for it's the middle of the siberian tiger around 7 00 am when a powerful explosion would lit up the sky an eyewitness 65 kilometers away from the blast accounts that the sky split in two and fire appeared high and wide over the forest at that moment i became so hot that i couldn't bear it as if my shirt was on fire you wanted to tear off my shirt and throw it down but then the sky shot closed a strong thump sounded and i was thrown a few meters two decades later in 1927 the first expedition to the blast site would capture this footage some 2 000 square kilometers of forest some 80 million trees in total had been completely flattened by the event the broad consensus is that an asteroid or comet less than 200 meters wide exploded a few kilometers above ground and produced a fireball as demonstrated in this simulation transposed over new york city its destructive power becomes a lot more apparent this is a location if that was somewhere that was highly populated that would have been an event that was talked about a lot i've never heard of this but again it's the location that hits somewhere that's populated and this is one of those things that like you're going to learn about through school and like learning about it vigorously because it is like something that could have went so so wrong this one is a little bit harder to say that the one that over tunguska the one that was slightly larger had that happened over a city um say new york city we would have seven million casualties at least whatever the population in new york city is they would be gone really you should come with me to the 1945 [Music] while the two bombs dropped on japan marked a dramatic end to the war they also marked the beginning of an entirely new kind of fear a fear of annihilation by incompetence humans are fallible we make mistakes and knowing this coupled with a realization that one mistake could result in apocalyptic levels of destruction the likes of which had so far been reserved by nature this new kind of fear was undeniably justified in early october of 1960 a new early warning system on greenland had just become operational in the event that the soviet union should launch an attack against the united states a level 5 warning would be sent to the command center located in colorado on october the 5th the number on the display suddenly changed from zero to one indicating that a low risk unidentified object had been detected a bit strange but no immediate cause for alarm but then the number continued to climb until a level 5 warning was issued meaning that long-range missiles would strike the united states in less than 20 minutes gee the alert quickly worked its way up the chain of command and the slight panic ensued but it was quickly eased by the realization that nikita khrushchev leader of the soviet union at the time was currently visiting the united states not exactly what you'd expect him to be in the event of a nuclear attack sure 20 minutes passed and the value of bottle caps remained the same a subsequent investigation revealed that the base on greenland had mistaken the rising moon for an incoming soviet attack what off january the 24th 1961 an american b-52 bomber carrying two hydrogen bombs crashed into an empty field in the state of north carolina officials quickly issued a report stating that there was no cause for alarm and that there was no danger of a nuclear explosion or radiation however declassified documents released in 2013 revealed that one of the two bombs actually came extremely close to a full scale not available this 3.8 megaton bomb detonated and had the wind conditions been just right the radioactive fallout could have reached as far as washington philadelphia and even new york oh my god that would have been i'm the early 1960s tensions between the us and the soviet union is strained to the breaking point and culminated in a situation known as the cuban missile crisis perhaps the closest we've ever come to committing omnicide the short version is that the u.s installed nuclear missiles near the soviet union specifically in turkey so in response the soviet union installed nuclear missiles near the united states specifically in cuba the u.s would have none of that hey you can't do that only we are allowed to do that said the united states i don't know what you're talking about the soviet union replied i'm paraphrasing of course as these were classified communications while the impasse in and of itself came extremely close to disaster one specific event stands out after the u.s imposed a blockade to prevent the soviet union from exporting even more missiles to cuba a soviet submarine was detected near cuban shores in an attempt to force the submarine to surface so that they could have a friendly chat multiple u.s naval destroyers dropped low intensity explosives to signal the submarine to surface oh my god the captain of the submarine misinterpreted this as an attack and ordered his men to retaliate against one of the u.s destroyers by launching a nuclear-armed torpedo fortunately one of the two senior officers aboard disagreed with the captain's decision and eventually managed to convince him that they should instead surface and await orders from moscow and that's exactly what they did and thus the apocalypse had to reschedule well when you realize how close it would have been to a nuclear war my god and you know about human incompetence how humans just do stupid things one wrong like one wrong thing and again if he had different crew members maybe that he would have attacked and that would have just led to a full-scale war man god damn god in 1967 all of the early warning systems across the united states cease to function in fact all manner of military communications and radar technology malfunctioned simultaneously and it was interpreted as intentional jamming by the soviets bomber planes immediately scrambled and prepared to launch an attack but as luck would have it just a few years prior a branch of the u.s military had begun observing solar activity and its effect on the earth and on this day in 1967 the sun had ejected a powerful solar storm that struck the planet and knocked out military defenses and other equipment the project for something as unrelated as studying the sun been delayed for just a few years no one would have explained this nationwide interference in time to prevent world war three that is ridiculous in the mid-1980s squadrons of u.s aircrafts oysters in the cold war blood often fly straight towards soviet airspace like i'm finally realizing how like scared like people must have been during this world because there's so many times where things were so close to like reaching boiling point where the war would have broke out and it's like again it's a war that wasn't like there wasn't actually many like any fighting if not anything like many fights between like soldiers if not any but the sort of the the tensions between the two countries could have went to a point where the fighting would have been like no other and it's just like it happened many times i can't again again i can't imagine how scared just the general population must have been during this because they're the ones who don't want anything to do with it it's the it's the people in charge the people who like like the prime minister like or whatever you want to call prime minister don't call the prime minister the president of each country the leaders um the ones that actually sort of make the decisions they're the ones who are sort of doing these things the general population of the soviet union at the time or the u.s or just any country in the world would not have want anything to do with this and it's just a shame that they're the ones who get the to make the decision the decisions that lead to these full-scale wars at the end of the day thus triggering their early warning systems only to turn around at the very last moment a form of psychological warfare that kept the soviets on edge for an attack in the early hours of september the 26th 1983 the command center just outside moskov was awoken by the sound of an alarm that's a weird llama an intercontinental ballistic missile had just been launched by the us and was now heading towards the soviet union in the event of a nuclear attack by the americans it was standard procedure to launch an immediate counter-attack it was now up to the man in charge stanislav petrov to contact his superiors and to inform them that the nuclear attack was imminent a few minutes passed when four additional missiles were detected petrov decided to go against his training and did nothing he reasoned that if the united states were to strike the attack would likely involve hundreds of missiles not just a few in other words he suspected that this was a false alarm but as he had no way of confirming his suspicions he could only wait and hope for the best fortunately petra was correct in his assumption as evident by the fact that you are currently breathing and a subsequent investigation revealed that sunlight reflecting off of high altitude clouds was responsible for the anomaly oh my gosh on march the 31st 1989 the two american astronomers discovered that a week prior on march the 22nd a 300 meter wide asteroid had come fairly close to the earth it had not come close enough to pose any risk of impact and was even further away than the moon but it's still worth the mention as it passed through the exact position that the earth had occupied a mere six hours prior which is in and of itself extraordinarily close on the cosmic scale an impact with an asteroid of this size would obliterate almost everything within a radius of 60 to 75 kilometers superimposed over tokyo one of the largest cities on earth it looks like it would have been a rough day some of you may remember that a few years ago there was a lot of eschatological prophecies that the world would end in 2012 while the world is still spinning as evident by the rotation of this globe we did narrowly escape a catastrophic event in july of 2012. on the 23rd of july the sun expelled something known as a coronal mass ejection or cme 2010 i swear that was a thing like back in the day everyone thought the world was going to end in 2010 maybe not 2012 maybe that's a different one a cme is a release of large quantities of magnetized plasma and if it strikes the earth it can cause some serious damage to any and all electronic devices this was also one of the most powerful cmes in recorded history and it blasted straight through the earth's orbit luckily for us the earth was on the other side when that eruption occurred but due to the rotation of the sun had this eruption occurred just nine days prior we would have been engulfed by that storm and if that had happened and there's a 12 chance that it will happen in the next 10 years it could have taken us as much as a decade to fully recover it's difficult to overstate the ramification of a cme on this scale worldwide power outages would take weeks months or even years to resolve many satellites would have to be replaced electronic equipment of all kinds would cease to function seemingly overnight medical transportational financial military national security and other critical systems would all be compromised or destroyed society would grind to a halt and literally plunged into darkness for years bro this makes you realize how just not unimportant but just how small we are like we have all these wars and all these things going on but you realize that all these things in space could just make us we just could um do anything to this to the earth to um humans to animals and because it just makes you again realize how uninsignificant we are because like anything from like space like an asteroid a sun blast whatever it's called could just plunge our existence into nothing and it's just like it makes you realize like what all the war between humans and stuff is just so unimportant but yeah we'll do what we do right humans do humans cause chaos better than anything but it's just like what are we doing it before man you see how possible these things can happen and he said in the next 10 years it's a 12 chances it can happen again i mean what more do you want to hear to come that would be given how dependencies come on electricity and various technologies like the internet it's difficult to imagine and that's that literally is what runs like our species now the internet and electricity that's what we rely on for literally everything like just think of something and like what you do and it will relate to either thing like me i'm doing using the internet and i mean i'm using my electricity to like watch things on the internet and it's just without these two things i cannot imagine what the human race would actually like what would happen like it'd probably just be a full scale war at that point like and none would know what's going on because you couldn't see like the news you couldn't see anything like you couldn't see on the internet so i mean hopefully that's not gonna happen we'll never you never know like he said 12 chances it can happen but let's just pray it doesn't rise anything but glory and chaos it would not have been the end of the world but it would no doubt have felt like it declassified documents reveal that the u.s military has had over a thousand close calls with nuclear weapons since the 1950s over a thousand times when cataclysmic devastation was just narrowly avoided and who knows how many near accidents the russian military have experienced or any of the other nuclear weapon states coupled with the destructive power of natural events it is truly a miracle that we've come as far as we have you should come with me lamino in his videos is insane this is three and a half years ago and the videos are still just nuts i'm gonna be doing a lot more of the reactions to this channel for sure because i do really enjoy his videos but wait date 12 12 should be some of you oh i don't know but i mean yeah crazy crazy video i'm really i really appreciate you guys for suggesting this because again i'm gonna be getting onto more of his reactions soon again because i do really enjoy them but this one to start off my return to doing video reactions i can't be like i couldn't be any more interested because this is just one of those videos that just just it just it's one of those things that you just find interesting to see but yeah really fun video america funds and missile detection system and puts billions of dollars into it the system you see that moon i don't like how it looks it's crazy how the moon and the sun can just put all your technology all your billions of money spent in technology to shame it's just like it was just it could lead to it could have led to absolute chaos and i mean it's just wild how that happens man america is scared of the moon local 58 lasts nervously russian captain underwater u.s captain i shall not communicate in the only way humans know how your videos are almost too professional honesty so so good man scientists if the meteor would hit or see it would be gone really there's a 12 chance it could happen in the next decade well who knows in 2020 you still still have for us yeah i mean there's still what four days of 2020 to go pray as it doesn't happen because this year has been an absolute disaster to say the least and there's a 12 chance of this happening in the next 10 years let me guess june when a youtube channel was so good it could compete with a netflix series honestly if he went onto netflix i wouldn't be surprised but at the same time youtube you don't need to go to netflix nowadays youtube is like where like you get the views and you do these things and people just enjoy the video so i mean youtube is where it's at for me but for someone like this high product for high production i wouldn't blame him for going to somewhere else for more money because securing is bad for making videos like this is something that people like this deserve when they make such class in-depth videos but hopefully you guys enjoyed this question we're going to be back with the reactions coming now i'm excited to get back onto like the daily reactions yeah if you guys enjoyed until next time like subscribe
