[Music] [Music] wah hello and welcome to cent gallon for the FEI jumping nation's cups Switzerland but it's lag three of eight we've already been to summer and we've already been till a ball and now you join us here a sun-drenched afternoon here in Switzerland where the crowds are beginning to really assemble on that grass bank the grand stands are already full the atmosphere is electric and we have some of the very biggest names in the world of show jumping to come and try and get those all-important qualifying points 100 points going to our WA 99217 all the way down through 8c a third seventy at fourth and don't attempt place that take Ferris eat five points and those points are so important for athletes they're here representing themselves as riders but also of course their nations as well trying to earn a place to get to that very coveted long gene Fei Nations Cup Final which takes place in Barcelona later this year well throughout the day already we've seen some top international sport it's been a real buzz about the place all day and everybody has V night walking this course it was like to see of apps out there and it's so great that they let all the fans come on course let them have a look at some of the fences because there they go there it's a real technical course they were going to take a look at in just a couple of minutes time but a real family feeling here instant gallon as we get ready before the FBI jumping nation's Cup this afternoon that's their athlete starting to make their preparations the covered warm-up area just sitting above us here down in this grass arena is a grass surface that they will be competing on today warming up on an artificial surface and just popping in as first couple of practice fences whoops certainly plenty of room up there so they can let the horses have a good look around get settled and of course most of them have been here for the last few days we saw a lot of them jumping in the launching drawn three it's amazing here just how many people turn out to watch this world-class sport of all ages as well you know the whole family's the yeah we've got mascots that put bands on Suns if it's great hospitality and I have to say everyone is just so friendly here in st. Gallen laughter you know this really is one of the top top aims for a lot of our athletes in the sport of international show jumping today competing all over the world to try now in that place at the Fei jumping nation's Cup final seven places from Division one two from Division two in Europe and then of course two from North and Central America - from South America - Rafi from the Middle East - from Asia and Australia and one from Africa so like 18 to 20 teams in total qualifying for the final so exciting if you were with us for the final last year the Netherlands road to victory in 2017 Germany before then Belgium Netherlands France Germany Germany France France you can see the pattern but I have to say the whole nation of Switzerland have been on fine form so far Switzerland had a great win at Samer enter in the opening leg and then finished third when we went to a ball now if they could win this qualifier here today I think the crowds we've absolutely erupt they're so supportive of all the athletes but you'll be able to feel their atmosphere when one of the whole nation writes forward into this grass arena that's just one of those forces there's lots of them dotted all over this show grounds lots of people getting some very nice pictures to take home remembering there's a year hacen gallon final preparations underway first combination coming forward through into the arena and just a couple of minutes time we're also gonna take a quick look at this course a bit more detail with her 3d animation as well and just a few minutes course designer here is your eyelash at Switzerland you've seen him built and top level all over the world and I have to say the course he built the launch in Grand Prix the other day was absolutely stellar lots of tough questions there's a nice overview of what they're gonna be faced with today when they join us forward into this arena so this is our start list for the teams it's going to be Spain the guess is underway then we've got Belgium France will come in third Switzerland Brazil Germany and then Great Britain now order was decided in a very democratic way at the meeting earlier in the week and this is the actual order we'll see our athletes now because Spain have only got three riders and their team today they actually miss out in the first lotta riders who are going to be starting in Belgium and as things continue through the afternoon we're going to see a member of each of the teams come in so to see a member of Belgium then we go to France Switzerland all the way down the line and you can see by looking at this start list you know some of the very biggest names in the world of show jumping being Manley's ranked in the top ten at the moment Christian could click really on fine form with fat horse as well and as things progressed down in the order you'll got holy Smurf in hearts destiny a fairly new right to her extreme but though she's been producing some great results Steve did that just off a big win at the Royal Windsor Horse Show won their Grand Prix two weeks ago and then Great Britain to finish with Lisa L can't miss out mark is selling as well better to one of the favourite horses on the International Circuit in the moment or am I also jumping very well so as you can see they've brought all the top parties they brought all the top riders and we are in for a top afternoon of international sport here in st. always think it's one of the best places to go and see these riders because this is where they do their final bits of schooling you can see what their their methods are up there in the warm-up what their warm-up routine is so interesting if you can watch the top riders preparing for a competition like this up there as well when you see some of the trainers some of the grooms and there's also got their FBI stewards up there as well just to make sure everything is above board the welfare of the horse so importance there are athletes into the sport so they'll be up there just keeping an eye on things during this warm up for the long gene FEI jumping nation's Cup of Switzerland preparing for Etsy competition is well more important than ever I mean you feel a lot of pressure coming into a Grand Prix but when you know you're here representing your country and potentially letting down your team means so much more course designer here this afternoon Jerri lash at level three international course designer based here in Switzerland and he has set this track 12 jumping obstacles and 15 efforts here this afternoon let's take a look then at this track they are going to be faced with starting over the upright leader 15 left Andy drawbacks and brings them to Longtin FEI nations cup boxer itsu at a nice bending line down towards the stone fence at three rolling around the corner it's down to the long side and the oxer at fence number four a nice related distance brings them down to the combination it's upright ops tearing up right one non jumping stride through those two distances rimed a soft corner brings them on that bending line to really narrow white fence and then as we roll back Ryan is a big open Watty plenty of peridot in this lane because if you land your
