[Music] like to introduce you really to one of my heroes he said he's a father to me he's a friend to me and words that he's spoken to our family has changed the course of our lives and years ago he did this series called the minstrel series and I was a young worship leader and I got a hold of that and I just ate it up as much as I could you know and then years later through my friend Teresa Thurston she introduced us to each other and and that has led to where we are now living here and doing life together and just following the dance of the Lord and so would you all I think we should stand in honor of my friend ray Hughes as he comes amen [Music] [Applause] the mother oh hey how are y'all oh sit down you're making me nervous yeah well this it's good to be home yeah good to be had for a change well I'm waiting for a pulpit now waiting for a podium waiting for a lectern anybody got any other terms that Apple finished lectern oh I'll tell you what y'all show we've got the sound worked out didn't you there not tonight that was really beautiful yeah y'all know you could never come into an atmosphere with the destiny that this land has on it and the history that this land has on it and you come in and you raise you raise a banner or a moniker that says we're here to to redeem restore and renew something in the sound realm you better believe there's gonna be some resistance and I mean some something sometimes things are just real spiritual resistance and then some things are just just stupid and this in the shame of it is we don't always know which ones walked sometimes I've thought sometimes I was going through warfare and I was just walking out some stupidity you know and you do not have my permission to talk to my wife about that just just just saying and you know what so much of the time I'm on the road without her anymore but I want to everybody say hello to my sweetheart sitting over here we just celebrated 42 years a couple of weeks ago and this it's been quite quite an amazing and wonderful journey I won't talk to you tonight about something I believe I did I feel like it's important to to God's heart tonight I believe that I'm just going to start by just touching one scripture and then I'll be quoting some for you tonight so be sure and write the numbers first if you're taking notes always write the numbers first because by the time you write out second Chronicles 220 you don't know if it's what it was by the time you ride out Chronicles was it 22 or two you know you so always be sure and write the numbers first other thing is if you'd like I will teach you right now very quickly give you a lesson than memorizing scripture I have a photographic memory but I just never put the film in now but had I put the film in I would have memorized the entire Bible but but it would anybody like to know a fail-proof way for memorizing scripture or poems or songs or or you can memorize entire books this way if you'd like and what you do is if you want to remember say the 119 Psalm one of the little ones what you would do is you would go to Walmart and get you a piece of poster board and a sharpie and take your shoes off lay the poster board on the floor and if you're right-handed you take your left foot and hold the sharpie between the toes of your left foot and you write out the scripture or the song or the psalm whatever with the toes of your left foot and when you get to the end of that chapter you will never forget it now in closing what I want to say too but but sure enough that is that is how you memorize Scripture and it has to do with right-brain left-brain it has to do with awakening awakening neurologically awakening something that you're not accustomed to and when you express it with a new way of capturing it in a new way you will remember it in a new way no matter how old you are or how old it is it will always be stored in your memory banks from that day forward it's a proven reality now what I want to chat with you a little bit tonight about it and I'm trying to get out of that feedback for you unless some of you just enjoy it I used to say we had a sound man that used to travel with us he didn't invent feedback but he did make it famous yeah he introduced it to people all over door you can always tell when they were leaving our meetings they were coming out with a nervous twitch and you know and we just blamed it on the Holy Ghost but what I want to talk to you about tonight I want to say a little bit about this being and it sounds almost trite to say this but I want to say it like this this is a new day it's a new day and with a new day will come a new song what does a new song really look like we know what it looks like in the Word of God we know the Hebrew understanding of new song and new as the word CAW - and song is the word Shira so that man Shira does not mean to sing is not aa that's not saying a new song sing is the word she wrote which means to walk about as a strolling room in a minstrel releasing engaging and releasing the fullness of who you are through song and so that word song is is connected to it's also connected to the idea of advertising is connected to the idea of of boasting or explosively expressing something that is the foundation of who you are see song is not a two and a half minute thing song is an expression of life and so what you're doing in that moment as you are living out loud an expression expressing the passion of who you are on a on a on a neurological level on a spiritual level even on a cellular level your nervous system everything about you can become fully engaged in song and because it's an expression of life now and also there's another thing that I want to touch just a little bit tonight is is if we're being given at this time in history a new a new day that carries a new song a new in a new language I'll just let you know that there is a new sound that that's at the gate and the gate must open or the power of God will take it off the hinges there is an expressed sound of heaven coming unto the earth in our generation that will remove every obstacle and every hinge of humanity that is built a resistance against his love his beauty his tenderness his mercy in His grace God is gonna show himself to our generation and if he has to take authorities off hinges all over the earth he'll do it because there's a new sound at the gate and there has been a generation that has not known the full expression of the song that they were born to sing because so many times across the world today the body of Christ on so many levels have we we sink everybody to the lowest common denominator creatively and we call it unity when in fact it's seamless it's sameness it's not unity and so if we can confine everybody to sameness and define everybody of according to our our former and present knowings we will not be finding the voice of God that's going to fully release the new sound the new song the new language and there's a new sound at the gate that's alerting a generation that we have an opportunity now to engage and go through that gate and gate always represents authorities and there are authority structures not only set up in this world to hold out the new but there's also authority structure set up to hold you captive and keep you locked in such a way that you never find the song and the liberty and the life and the lyric that lives your life above the loss and above the longing there are lyrics that are coming to this generation that will have such a resonance of heaven that we will not even recognize that that's what we used to be because our new song is going to be boasting of the power and the glory and the goodness and the mercy and the grace of God we're in a very unique time and the part of the uniqueness of this time is because there it is being released by a new expression let hear me a new expression of the prophetic there's a new expression of the prophetic that we don't understand yet and it's at the gate it's a new expression that prophetic in the prophets that are rising up right now are going to challenge the old guard that does not appreciate what they don't initiate and the old guard that is not necessarily initiating this are a part of the new sound and the new song too but God is giving them opportunity to prove their own hearts and the realign themselves was something so new and outrageous of the presence of God the radiance of God we're about to see God in ways we've never seen him hear him in ways we've never heard him and we can't miss this guy's it's not just about an old guard that has our theology corrects now because if we confine God's doings to our former knowings we're going to miss him because we're going to put limitations around the beauty of what he's about to express and we are people that I believe in our generation God has chosen for this to be a generation that that experiences God in ways that no other generation has ever experienced God and when we limit God to our former knowings we say we've got it figured out I love I love what Bob used about Jones used to say if you can figure it out it probably ain't God and we've come to the place where we can figure it out because we have the technologies that enable us to we have knowledge we have education we have all of the academia of the world will never ever be able to confine God the God is about to reveal himself in the earth every nation is about to experience God all tribes all tongues all cultures and subcultures that's how pivotal the time we're living in right now new expressions of the of the prophetic are making way now that's the sound at the gate and if you look at what was going on in Psalm 24 that's precisely what was going on then and everything that happened from Psalm 24 forward came with a promise every song that was sung came with a promise that this that this generation is going to express that generation in generations past they were going to express God in such a way that their interaction with God for 33 years was going to be a promise that there would be a truth that would endure to all generations and there would be generations in the future that would counteract all of the religious knowings that had been set up and erected as new walls and new barriers new gates and new understandings and now all of those understandings that we have gained are going to be dealt with as God adds wisdom to understanding and reveals his glory in new ways and what is that really going to look like well if we knew that exactly what that looked like we would lose the element of wonder beauty and God surprises because he loves carrying suddenly into our midst that shape humanity for them for generations and I want to tell you right now as leaders we better realize that our 5-year plans are pretty worthless our 5-year plans have lost their steam I'm not looking for a five-year plan I'm looking for a 500 year vision that aligns with what God is doing in our generation that's awakening his song in the ones to come now we are living in the time right now where we need to realize this that you know it's been said that the the best time to influence the character of a child is five hundred years before is born if you could take the lyrics of your life the poetry of your heart the songs that your voice carry and go downtown and and inscribe the truth of who you are into the streets of Florence if you could go down and carve it in the stone of the sidewalk and you knew that five hundred years from now they're gonna be reading your life's message in one phrase and one lyric and one poem what would that song sound like if a thousand years from now you know imagine let's jump forward a thousand years and a thousand years from now and into the future the archaeologists come along and they begin to do an archaeological dig because they want to discover and discern what we were about in our generation and they start digging down through all the layers of dirt and humanity and rubble and everything that is it is uh that it's taken place in the next thousand years and they dig down in there and what would they understand about us we found there their temples we found there their pillars and we found there huge structures unto their gods and and that they were shopping malls or they were or there were something called the music industry they industrialized worship in their generation look at all of the all of the things that the rubble that is that is being stacked up and piled up and danced to in our generation and there needs to be a new sound and a new song that's carrying multi-generational prophecies and promises of God and that's what we need to be filling the atmospheres with filling the streets with filling the streets with with the same kind of things that that David's generation did because again every one of those songs born out of the spontaneity of a bunch of people who knew how to interact to the presence of God spontaneously with what they were creating though is prayers and prophecies and proclamations and covenant promises being set in motion for future generations and now we're the ones that have been commissioned and empowered and graced to reach into those and perpetuate the truth and into a world that has no grid for truth and our history in our nation as being our history is being rewritten by scoffers and we farther and farther and farther away we are getting from the sacrifice and the obedience and the lyrics that were engraved into the streets of humanity are being more and more and more covered over that's why those streets need some dance and feet those streets need some poems that are beyond just literature but they're carrying a life because they're carrying truth we don't need one more generation necessarily of informed Minds we need a generation it because information you know facts inform but truth transforms and so this is the generation it's going to access an eternal truth and bring that forward his song and the reason we get the reason God wants to do it is song is because song is the one thing that he has created that would that bypass music bypasses the intellectual realm bypasses yes we can confine it there and try to hold it if we can and we just create keep creating more literature around it but you know talk even talking about music is a bit like dancing about architecture you know there there actually has to be some folks that do it that acts and and and and we've got to not only keep sounding negative here but we gotta back away from the world's idea of what music is is about music has has defined music has been defined to humanity from from a platform of academia no wonder our limitations of our understanding of music hold people captive and and create addiction in people's lives and sound addiction in people's lives that's what that's one of the reasons you know the addiction to sound into an addiction to the whole person on stage and lights and all the things that define music for the people of the earth are are having to become more and more and more solutions spectacular and it has very little to do with even performance hardly any more or Talent are you hearing me where where where's that people are going to start carrying sound and song to such a degree that they engage in that and and create an atmosphere that God cannot resist he can't but he can't resist it anymore and when God shows up look what happens we we are we are right now embarking on some things that that are going to redefine worship services worship services it's no longer gonna be about personality-driven Christianity and and and star based Christianity is is is about to be dealt with dramatically because there's a new sound coming that can't be put in that bucket it can't be held there I mean what happens when we come together and we'll begin to worship God and four nine-foot angels show up and everybody sees it and not just a few what happens when every cancer in the room is the curse is broken what happens when when when depression cannot live in the room because there the god of deliverance has entered in what what happens when riders begin to step into spirit realm and bring back the literature that's carrying the life of God in it those that feel like they're in a season of living on the Isle of Patmos and Patmos means the place of my killing and where you in the very places that you feel like you've been being killed is where you bring forth the literature that is set in motion that carries such truth that people cannot even rationalize or hold it captive to academia anymore you begin to experience presence of God born out of the song worship events are about to begin to shift in a dramatic way in the earth worship and worship industry is about to be dealt with by the goodness of God and the mercy of God now we never had permission to industrialize worship let me tell you that worship lifestyles are about to change we're back to begin as a people to understand worship on the levels that we never have there there are entire gatherings like this that are going to be so charged with throne room presence as a result of the worship it'll be without limitations and boundaries and it'll also be without definitions you're just gonna have to go experience and feel the song and see the song you're going to be seeing sound and you're gonna be hearing light you know you know if we want to embrace all these ideas around the quantum world well listen there there's a real spirit world that John experienced that that was not limited to John all throughout Scripture people had encounters that we have put built walls and gates too and we're a generation that's coming with a promise carrying tabernacle of David unbound by time and space because it'll no longer be about place or time God made time to keep it all from happening at once and we're no longer necessarily gonna be limited to those kind of things I mean is it too much to charge our minds with the possibilities of time travel okay we're already at the quantum thing so we can get weird can't we and now and I'm just saying I don't know but I know that in Scripture God did that with people what what if we are a generation that's actually you know you know like in the Old Testament they parted the waters in the New Testament they walked on it and we're not doing either wolf well what if we in a healthy holy way now that was some kind of rat ranting spiritual arrogance but what if we started to challenge the way we understand our God what if there what if there were times the entire congregations could go into an atmosphere of glory that would so change them that truth would be set in motion in their blood in their children and their children's children would begin to experience because of what they could that is not some far-fetched craziness guys that's exactly what happened in the in the Welsh revival I was I was recently Denise now we recently on the Isle of Louis where the Hebrides revival took place and we met with these old people in their eighties Nick I remember the pastor said tomorrow we're going to take you over to Barbara swear the Hebrides revival happened and you're gonna get to meet with the old worthiess they were gone all I know to tell you is when you walk into the room and these little 85 year old women begin to talk about what the revive was like and you look in their eyes and you realize they never left there the revival lifts them and they never left the revival and you say what what was what was the thing you remember most oh one thing is the singing it wasn't the band it wasn't the the event it was not the what was advertised it was not what was had marketing mechanisms that would challenge everybody to sit and activate some kind of expectation it wasn't you know when I'm with hot dogs keep them with pizza kind of thinking it wasn't any of that contrived to awaken the senses of humanity you know what it was it was God's glory and they said I would say things like oh it was the singing they said you know we would get on we would choose the bus we wanted to ride on by what him they were singing on that bus so we were what we would walk from the meetings would be two three four o'clock in the morning sometimes in a bunch of us young teenagers were walking along with 14 would 15 years old and walk along and I in a and a light of God's glory the best the size of a car they said just encircled us and we were walking in the brightness of his glory and we're walking there's no streetlights or sits in the middle of the moorlands on this island in Scotland he said they look and here came three lights dancing across the Moors and they watched it go to the side of a house and climb up a chimney dancing all over the chimney and went down the chimney and they said we were amazed in the next day we find it that three people were saved in that house last night and everywhere was singing and they said the other thing that we the second thing was is we never we read for three years no one was tired for three years I signed up for that one for three years no weariness three years this office for some three years life was fully lived in the presence of God and in his presence there was fullness the full expression of the joy of God had overtaken their bodies on a cellular level they didn't have to have rest anymore imagina and then we and and and we would go to the next soul guy 85 years old and said we went to his house and said what's the thing you remember most about the revival you know what he said it was the singing everyone was singing they couldn't keep from singing there like they had found a new song or had a new song found them there was a there was a new language what if we were born to speak languages that are not in of this earth and that's a part of what's going on oh you kind of like the night the sound came from heaven into the upper room which which was a living out of promises that were set in motion when David wrote two songs for thirty-three years the songs were written and sung and lived in life and full engagement interaction was God for thirty-three years and then it was a promise given and one of these days one of those songs came true he was a savior a redeemer he came from heaven to restore all of humanity to a right relationship with the Father and through his blood we were made righteous through his song we were through his song we were made righteous and and then he lived 33 years just like the tabernacle of David existed and at the end of his journey he goes back to heaven and he he tells him then listen you know you go to the Upper Room and you worship and you pray and we know a generation after generation after generation had been waiting for this all of the songs and all the prophecies and all the prophets of old they had set the promises in motion and then knew one day it was going to be fulfilled and the enemy's head would be bruised and the song would be restored and he came and then before and then he tells them to go to the upper room and y'all have heard me talk about this before probably but if hillbilly deduction tells me if there's an upper room there's a lower room in that upper room well the lower room was the tomb of David and over David's bones a song was about to be awakened again and then when that song came and that sound came now let's back up just a hair you remember what what was going on in David's song he was he was setting out in the Shepherd's field in the tower of the flock it's a place called the tower of the flock and he's singing this song and God hears that song and and responds to his heart that song that was sung it was a thousand years later in the Shepherd's field there's also a manger and then that manger heaven responded to that song a thousand years because there was covenant and promise set in motion through that song are you with me and so when heaven responded now in the upper room heavens getting ready to respond again heaven responded with a song the night Jesus was born and the night the church was born and when the church was born it also came with a song that was a sound and a promise and what they began to do is when when that song was released from heaven here comes cloven tongues of fire that's an odd church service now in David's day at the end of the tabernacle of David what came next was a hundred and twenty trumpets blasting in the upper room there was a hundred and twenty and the reason they were 500 were invited but there's always a remnant on that RIM that released their sound heaven did too and into that and into that room something very profound happened first thing you see is they got there all of the they got there their language back and this was the language of the nations and so you had a sound as a rushing mighty wind and you had cloven tongues of fire and when that came it came with an empowerment and a promise now they were empowered to carry the songs of the nations and to the ends of the earth and commissioned to do so and at the time in biblical days the ends of the earth was Scotland I was we were recently in Scotland and we stood in a place four miles outside of there of a place called Perth where the Stone of Destiny rested for for all those years Jacob's pillar though we we found out that there's a village four miles from where we were standing that is called in Gaelic is called the ends of the earth because after the Upper Room what happened was is right after that then the Romans begin to penetrate into those British Isles and they were carrying the gospel but more than that they were carrying promise they were carrying an empowerment to release the songs to the ends of the earth and we know you know there's a lot that I'm leaving out here of course but in those lands now when this thing happened in the Upper Room what happens is all of a sudden nobody had a grab for this and so they get into the arguments and the debates and the theological debates and the doctrinal debates and all this kind of stuff and James stands up and says hey listen rattle heads let me tell you an argue about this all day but the fact is this is the rebuilding of the tabernacle of David it's all those promises and poems and songs and wherever but everybody was fully engaged and interacted with the presence of God in their midst for 33 years this is a part of that and so now here here that promise again is caught and and continued to be sustained or suspended sustained by the sound of the song that David and those guys said in motion because prior to that there was no worship and they were using technologies and instruments that were using expressions that humanity had never ever used to express their worship unto God and they had used those very same things to express their idolatry or to express their culture to express their humanity to Express but now suddenly the sounds and the songs and the tones and the textures and those and those those tones and tunes had spanned now across time and territory and found themselves into the ways of the heart of humanity so that song could be fully expressed in this realm that would awaken heaven are you with me and all of that was set in motion as a promise that that it says in that's coming today I'm all God says I'll build again the tabernacle of David does that mean that we're going to have poets and creatives and innovators and imagine ators and dreamers that can dream outside of the confines of sameness and reach into the spirit realm and welcome realities that are not of this world like they did in the days of old so that we so that we don't have to just try to analyze and scrutinize science but we become science experiments if you will that we become those that carry healing through sounds and tones and textures and we carry songs that awaken cellularly and bring life and healing back I don't know can you dream with me a little bit can we begin to dream that this is not just some expression of radical Christianity that's happening in a generation that there's actually something multi-generational even eternal this being released into the earth and the people now are walking in sensitivities and the sensibilities to hear the voice of the Lord on the waters again see the nature of God in the Stars oh stay away from the because of all of the abuses and all of the things that have happened in the hearts and minds of humanity for generations generations we create unsanctified restrictions and taboos and we've got to tear those gates off of the hinges and and quit and quit trying to predict what God is going to do and just go ahead and know that God can do anything that he wants to do I think that's who we are and that's where we are at this time in the humanity and I think it's connected to promises and prayers that have been forgotten from some of those so many years ago I think some of the things that happened in Evan Roberts today I think they happened in his day for now in Florence Alabama I think the songs that were sung then were set in motion for us I think some of the things that happened in the Bible that we put over here and scrutinize and analyze and paralyze are about to become truths that we cannot deny because we're walking in them now and gods expressing them in our generation as well and it won't create platforms of stardom for the next person that comes along because it's going to be God doing something that none of us can contain I think that's where we are when when otherwise God is going to have to apologize for keeping that cloud of witnesses around us they're standing by carrying expectation and anticipation they're carrying a longing in the spirit realm waiting for us to step into it and it be real and be so real in our generation that nations tribes and tongues get their songs back that have been just that have been destroyed by idolatry and and and all of the isms of the world there are people now standing at the gate that will weep for a season because those on the wall will be weeping for a season so that the ones that are standing there with the sound of the gate will be able to rejoice when it flies open there's a posturing going on right now for Humanity and the gates of the nations are going to encounter God I don't know how it is it's tough you know you know a couple a couple years ago whenever was last year two years I don't know it was some time ago we were we went to we took John James and and Colleen and and Isaac went to Scotland with us some of you've heard me tell the story so I'm gonna tell it the short version we went to Scotland Denise and I've gone 30 times to Ireland we'll be going again in just a few days 31 times I think 32 maybe I can't remember not that good numbers I'm from Kentucky but we're going we're going back again and then we'll go into Israel we'll be doing a worship gathering underneath the Temple Mount in the cave of Zedekiah where where the we're the very last of the Davidic dynasty the last king within the Davidic dynasty that's where we're of Davidic worship ended if you will that's what that's where the they took the old guy you know Jeremiah gave the prophecy and they took the old man and they killed his two sons this is the last of the Davidic worship killed the two sons people of God go into Babylonian captivity and they blind the old man so the last thing will he will know is there will not be any sons that will worship the way they were created to worship that's that's the way it's supposed to end and we'll be going back into that place to worship again and to awaken that sounded twelve twelve twelve we were there we took about two hundred people from all over the world and we all went into that place and had a worship gathering and the only plate the only thing that building is used for for the last more than a hundred years or so is is the highest-level Masonic meetings in the world happened in that in that room the right end of that darkness was released the light of glory yet and the promises to break the curses of the Babylonian wreath at the Babylonian curse and you don't just dive into that kind of stuff out of charismatic presumption there was people praying all over the world and we we feel like something that shifted and changed and now there are people there another gathering has been called there and people will be from all over the world again 72 hours of worship in the very in that bear cave and and you know one of the reasons those kind of things are happening is because people like patty people like myself and people of our generation we started valuing the things that had been lost scriptural understanding and regards to music and worship and creativity and so those things that had been confined within the confines of more controlled Christianese environments and and now we got a generation that says how you will worship in caves will worship I will climb trees and worship we will will get on boats and worship will just you know what will worship in a phone booth what worship been a beer joint well wherever it takes we're gonna care because we're carrying our song and we we carry the full expression of life I think about and I don't say this disrespectful dishonouring in any way but I wonder if Percy Sledge didn't have a longing in his life you know and the bendin see the bending of a note that moves the heart of God and somehow no the end up but out of the woundedness of humanity and the brokenness of the heart of man our music for so many generations has only expressed our longings in our loss in our pain but but to hear a new sound or a new song or a new language being added to what we've all sung for how many years we would when a man we've all some that because it awakens something of an expressed passion what a part of the new song and the new sound in the new language is redemptive reconciling and redeeming a lot of what meet the music that's been expressed here and goes all over the world what if that's God's order now to bring a people to this place that starts expressing it in such a way that we redeem and restore and renew and repair the brokenness what if that's what this thing is about I was in the we were in we went on that trip to Scotland then while we're walking around you know High Street in Scotland you know you know I love I love history because I think God wants to redeem through honor that's what the tabernacle of David about to thank to praise and to record or to remember so to remember the mighty acts of God and tell of his wondrous works and and no longer allow the the the skeptics and the scoffers to tell us and our children are history right so there we are walking on the high streets and Edinboro and I said there st. Giles Cathedral you know it's just where John Knox would ring the bell releasing a sound that were Scotland and declared Oh God give me Scotland lest I die that's the kind of sacrifice and obedience those folks walked in when they would release their sound and a ring a bell they knew it was potential death no they didn't they knew it was potential life and they were willing to pay the price to release the sound of who they are in the face of every enemy and awakened the desires and the covenants of God upon their land now where in the world Zep gone to you know and so welcomed and say here st. Giles Cathedral and here's where this happened that happened and while I'm telling the story and everybody's standing around you know that one of the most amazing atmospheres of any old city in the world and there we are in this beautiful place and I said you know John Knox I know I know where he's graves at we go around behind the st. Giles Cathedral and say here's his grave and it's marked there in the parking lot there's John there's his grave but he ain't in it he's buried down at Greyfriars Kurt by that old wall under a bunch of plastic buckets and shingles under the rubbish under the garbage that they've just thrown there because they just raked up all the bones in the whole graveyard and they didn't number john knox's when they buried him so they just threw all of the remnant over of the bones and you know all history is is just old bones anyway until the wind of the Spirit breathes on it and reminds us of what God was saying and will continue to say and that's a part of what song carries but anyway we'll go down there and what n words showing all of them Greyfriars kirkyard where they took you know over over a thousand of the Covenant herbs they were called and are in a place smaller than this room we're about the size of this room with no roof on it just old stone walls and they stuck them in there as prisoners in the rain and the cold through the winter and they were just throw bread over the wall once a day and then when they would sentence them to death for for their testimony these covers would be brought out and carried to the gallows and they would be they would then be martyred and I and so I was telling everybody this story and we go down and I said it's a grass mark and I said stop everybody you're standing right now where the gallows stood this is where they gave their lives and this is where they had we're given the opportunity for a prayer a prophecy or to sing a song or two or two just to speak their last words into the atmosphere and when you read their words there's some of the most powerful prophetic proclamations you will ever hear in your life and it was most beautiful poetry you will ever hear in your life born out of the passions of real life knowing that it's about to end in other words if you have an opportunity to inscribe who you are into the very bricks of the street into the cobblestone and let people in a thousand years in the future know who you were what are you going to say that's what was going on and they would they would give those prayers and prophecies and then they would be taken to the gallows walked up there their bodies burned and they would be quartered and all the stuff and you would read those proclamations and those poetic proclamations would be so hard engaging and then it said so and so age 19 age 21 age 16 age 18 age 25 a whole of them are young people except one old man at 84 and his last words where he says you know there is a natural nature of things I wasn't gonna live much longer anyway he said but I'll tell you God is gonna raise up a hundred out of my ashes is walking hey he said a prophecy and moved not thereto and and the margaret's that they would take out and stake him in the water and let the ocean come in and get the first one thinking the second one they put that old woman out there and one coast and thinking this young one will deny Jesus when she sees the old one died but neither of them would die I mean neither of them would would would give up both of them chose you sacrifice and obedience in the land to carry song and set promises in motion that's what it was about and I was showing everybody these where that where this would take place and I said now there's a monument right over there if you want to see if any of your family names were were martyred here and of course John James walked over and there was John Nesbitt on the thing and of course James being a sensitive sensor feeler imaginator alive and alert to every wind that blows never sound that you know because of that alertness and that's one of the written and again I want to remind us all of those sensitivities and sensibilities that the devil uses to eat your lunch or the very same sensitivities and sensibilities God put in you to be aware of who he is are you hearing me we're living in a generation that's losing our lives because of sensitivities and sensibilities and depression and despair because we're so alert and alive to the pains of this world and the darkness of this world but those are the very same giftings that God put in us to see in the spirit realm and we've got to get it under submission to the right spirit rather than the spirit of man and the spirit of fear and the spirit of pain and the spirit of loss in this guy and we got to change change the song we've got to sing with that same same life but it's got to be carrying the Word of God the truth of God anyway he walks over he finds that and then won't make a long longer story shorter not long after that we get back they come to the house and they had discovered because Isaac smart and he got on the Google got to find and stuff and he found that there that that John Nesbit was his 11th great-grandfather and that means generations and generations had been waiting for James to stand there and find a name carved in stone that was carrying promise and prophecy and sensitivity and sensibilities of the of the spirit realm one of the most powerful men of God in the history of Scotland one of the Covenant ores that war that that moniker and and more dramatic ways than anybody in Scotland there he was in James's bloodline and then this was they come to the house to tell me the story I said on my porch and I said wait a minute I'll go back in my library I got a lot I got a vast library I go back there and take out two books and I come out and read the last eight days of their grandfathers life to them on my porch every word he said every prayer that he prayed how he evaded the enemy at such-and-such and how he did that so so and so every word and it spoke of his mannerisms and his physical appearance everything about him was James and his and his son and his son and his son was James and his son was it and it and it goes on and there we were standing in a moment of awakening what in the world does God want to do in the generation every one of our lives that awakens identity everybody's looking for identity and everybody's walking in darkness and doubting in confusion and oh we got to break that confusion by rising up into who we were created to be and the promises and the prophecies and the covenants that have been set in motion waiting for our generation to get there song are you with me now I think there's more to that story and I can't remember what it is right now but up but I'll come back to it if I think of it because I don't mind taking a left turn it is it's saying about notes to me it's obvious enemy but then the next trip we're over there we take a whole busload of professional songwriters and we get to to Edinboro and I'm walking high street and I begin to tell them hey here is where John Knox and so and this is a whole professional professional group of songwriters from Nashville that write worship songs that are sung all over or and so I'm standing there I'm telling the story of the covenant errs and we're on the high street and I said now now that's called the mercat cross or market cross but in fact that's a new that's a new and that's 1700s we're gonna go down to where the old one was and we go down there where it was on the they've got it marked there on the cobblestone where the Old Market cross was I said on this place there's a fellow named James Guthrie was who when John Knox died he's the one that took up the torch for the Covenant and I said when when they killed him they martyred him here they hung him here and they cut his head off in his hands and they put his head on the nether boatport that big gate on pipes and they put his hands in a praying position so that everybody would full well know why he was there and for 27 years his son would walk under his father's head and honored his father said that is the most beautiful martyr that ever gave their blood for our land and he would pray a prayer of blessing over the generations to come because of what his father did because he carried on her every time he walked through the gate for him it was about honor I'm telling that story in this little gal her name is Chrissie Nordhoff and she begins to feel the weight of what that story was carrying and and we we walked away and she was to a book she's a songwriter she's a poet she's very sensitive of a very beautiful young woman but you could feel her heart and she she texted her mother walking up the street and said mom we've run into a lot of family names with some of our group over here could you send me everything you have on our fan three and sure enough guys that night three punches of the button the technology is now available three punches a button of the of the iPad and she goes straight to James Guthrie was her 11th great-grandfather and it changed the way she lives her life we were down in the grave for our kirkyard and there's a big old monument down there about that tall and about this wide and it has the statement of the it's a mass grave of the covenant errs were they with all those were buried and on that the font will say something like that small font da da da da king done it out of that small font Lord another Savior Redeemer in other words what they're saying is is Jesus is our king not Charles Jesus is our Lord not Charles so our Redeemer our Savior our Lord and every time is speaking of Jesus it's like even in their grave they're making the boldest statement that could be carved in any stone that for generations to come everybody would still hear the the sound of their voices in the stones that are remembering what had happened this little gals five days four days later when sterling and honors Saturday morning we're getting ready to leave the Stirling Castle we're getting ready to leave sterling and go away and I we Denise and I say Krissy come on her name is Chrissy Nordhoff say Chrissy before we leave town come on let's sneak away while everybody's getting luggage loaded and stuff I want to show you something so we go downtown rainy foggy morning to this old church right down on in the middle of a village and I said Chrissy see that beautiful big old church that is built by James Guthrie that is your 11th great-grandfather he preached right there and then this rainy foggy Saturday morning we just stand there in the rain and thank God for all the generations they've got to experience the Word of God because one was willing to lay down his life and his head was a reminder to the generations what honor was about and I said you know let's unless you see walked up and I knocked on the door it's Saturday morning knock on his door the door squeaked open on Saturday morning on the rainy Saturday and this lady said can I help you and I said well listen we're from the United States and we have just found out that this young lady right here her great-great 11th great-grandfather built this church would it be okay if we came in and she said well yes mr. Hughes please come in caught us off guard a little and just took turns out that years ago I spoke in that church and she was in the meeting I was there teaching revival history til the leaders of Scotland in that church years ago and and it was just when my little grandson had been born and his name is Guthrie and when I get to Scotland I start to speak and I said I'm a brand-new grandpa and said we named him Guthrie and they and somebody spoke up and said are you kidding that's the man who built this church are you seeing in here what look what a wonderful amazing beautifully tangled in a woven by mind so far greater than humanity can even imagine weaves our lives and awakens songs and awakens promise and all kinds of things in here I'm standing there and we go in and and and we're standing in this auditorium it's big old church just in the beauty in the silence while it's raining outside and I said would it be okay if we pull the cover off of that big old grand piano and let Chrissie sing oh I think it'd be fine so go out and pull that cover off she begins to sing and worship and in that room and she sung her most famous worship song was a song called your great name well she's singing your great name we realize that on that martyrs headstones is every word highlighted Savior King Redeemer Lord every one of those words were on that Monument she wrote a song and she sent that song all over the world and she was singing the song of the martyr the blood that is in her veins was carrying a truth that was left in the streets of Edinburgh that is the way God wants to do it where is your blood come from and where are the promises you were born to carry where that where the supernatural signs and wonders and miracles and grace and mercy and beauty and love of God that will come alive in your lyric and in your song to the point that you can never be she will never be able to be robbed of that as a truth and furthermore just found out she just sent me something last night found out that her in the Covenant of Scotland she just found this out last night the Covenant of Scotland the written covenant that all of them signed with their blood by the great name of the Lord our God is in the Covenant and it's the only words in the entire covenant that are inscribed in big capital letters and she didn't know that until the last 24 hours now for some it says like why are you telling all these crazy ridiculous stories because what is a storyteller a guardian of memories and now we have been commissioned as a generation to be the poets the storytellers the songwriters the singers we are to be the song the language the new sound the new song the new language and carrying an old truth and awakening a new generation that's what we're about do not lose your voice to darkness lose your voice to generations of iniquities their robbed us of our identity you know what your covenant thing is unto a thousand generations not four or five generations of brokenness the brokenness of humanity is going to happen it's going to yield to those that are walking in the vibrant radiance of the glory of God and this is the kind of truth this is kind of word that will awaken who you really are and your blood will come to its full song now last thing I want to read you here is when we were heading over there with all those song writers James sent me something or maybe I don't know maybe it's the same trip I don't know but anyway I'm gonna read you something here this is what it says what they found is in John Nesbit's here's what it says I this is attested by some of his intimate acquaintances that were eye and ear witness to his martyrdom listen to this thus he died the fourth of December 1685 the 58th year of his age with full assurance of his interest in the ever Blessed Lord Jesus Christ and also of the Lord's returning to this poor land of Scotland to raise up the fallen tabernacle of David therein in a more remarkable way in manner than ever which sight he saw from afar off by faith and rejoiced there at as he walked to the gallows God opened the heavens and caused him to look into the spirit realm and prophesied the rebuilding of the tabernacle of David that would take place in the land of Scotland and in 1685 and I'll guarantee a and and and we got theologians here that can verify this there was no such thing is understanding and any doctrine or theology in those days 1680s in regards to the tabernacle of David you find it in no Christian history no Christian literature none of that back that was not a revelation of those generations the way that God has revealed the tabernacle of David and this generation is once again marked and affirmed by generation after generation of blood poured out waiting for us to hear their songs and I want to tell you guys the might this cloud of witnesses is around us are waiting for the new sign sound the new song in the new language and we cannot close ourselves off because it does not meet our present theology most of the I have I have realized that I've had encounters with God all of my life from time with us four years old today some of them I still don't have the theology forth I still can't necessarily put it in a box that all of us can understand all I know is the mercy and the goodness and the grace of God is waiting to awaken the real us whether it relies with our academia or not and I believe well here we stand on a singing River where many songs were sung that is now time to be redeemed in the new sound in the new song in the new language will come out of that and they will not it will not impact the world with record sales it's gonna impact the world with truth and awaken people unto the full call if they were born to walk in I think that's who we are I think that's who we are and I think and I'll tell you another thing we will have a conflict around sound systems and stuff what what if it's time for a new sound what if the technology ceased the workforce anymore have we become so addicted to technology that we in order we're finding the technology to be a substitute for the truth that we're supposed to reveal we need to be challenged on some of these things there are places that are waiting for your sound in your song you know many of you know the whole story about those pins that I make and I'm not doing a commercial I do have not there and they're going to be for sale at the end of this and if you think that's a commercial you're correct they're out there but you know what I just found out while we were in Scotland I found out that that communion service at Red River meeting house in Kentucky James McGreevy is not the one that carried the revival he awakened Kentucky in a place called rogues Harbor under that old maple tree that's where the revival started Red River and the fire blew all the way across the cane Ridge in a few months and the whole nation didn't have a new definition of God they had a demonstration of the power of Jesus in our land and it changed all of everybody's definition it's a new song right was heard and I recently found out while we were in Scotland that James McCready didn't carry the revival as a preacher a fellow named Samuel McAdoo did and Samuel McAdoo is my ninth great-grandfather didn't know that until just a few months ago and it and the reason he carried the revival was is not because he was a powerful preacher told them all he's going to hell like James I'm greedy he had the love and mercy of God and tenderness born I've just had just lost his wife and his broken heart was so pliable that he leaned on the mercy in the kindness and the love of God and he went into that bunch of hellions and Hillbillies and outlaws and began to preach the love of God and that's what sustained the revival and I fall so then while I was reading this on that rainy night on the Isle of Lewis we found all of this and it says and he was a poet and for an hour I read his poetry to Denise on a rainy night on the Isle of Lewis and I didn't realized for 20-some years my connection to Red River and for 20 something and now I'll now go and bring that tree to Alabama and we've been begin making guitar and I now have a tree from the cane Ridge revival well there's a lady here responsible for that when they're cutting the tree of the old cane Ridge meeting house just recently and they've brought the whole tree here now and I'm making pins because we had a whole history and right the future we got to be there something on the yeah you know I don't know anyway you hear what I'm saying there's something about the value of what we're supposed to carry that we're supposed to be so valuable that we use the specialness of God's doings to remember those mighty acts of God and now you know people are bringing me from wood from all over the world I got Mariah Woodworth editor tree over her grave and we're cutting it down to put power lines through and somebody saw it happening and got a big block of wood and brought it to North Carolina and handed it to me said when I saw them cutting the tree I knew it was for you what is this what's this about that amazing though that we live in a generation where creativity and creative processes or finding voices to remember and honor those that carried what they carried somebody brought me a truckload of wood to my house right here in Florence the windows and the door frames and the door facings and the mantle of Billy Graham's childhood home I have Charles Finney his windows out of his house where he would set and pray in the morning they brought me the windows what in the world and y'all y'all know and remember my connection with Sam Jones and he did the movie in the documentary and all that stuff and I wrote a book of his life and you know years ago years ago I had a dream 25 years ago and in the dream there's me and old Sam Jones led a million souls to Jesus that's awesome and then wandered off into obscurity this couple right here when I used to preach when we met I was preaching every Sunday at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville the Grand Ole Opry we were preaching there every Sunday and these folks there were there serving in ministry the Bennett's right here on the second row and and little and all those years back then 20-some whatever it was years ago I don't know anyway and all those years ago I had a dream and in the dream because of this encounter thing that I had in regards to Sam's life in that story in 91 and I had this dream I was sitting in an old straight back chair and he was sort of sitting to my right like this and we were sort of angled and we're sitting there talking me and Sam Jones and I'm asking him questions and he's to get answering my questions and then all of a sudden he says wait a minute listen I've got to get back so you just anything you've ever wanted to ask me or anything he ever wondered about now's the time because I've got to get back and I said well all my life since I've known you my life has been just alive with the possibilities of I always want just here I always just wanted to hear your voice the sound of your voice is all I have ever wondered about really and he just looked at me with his funny look on his face and he started laughing and he slapped both of his legs like that and just laugh and then he started beating himself in the chest laughing and he laughed so loud it woke me up [Laughter] and then when we were doing the documentary I was writing the book and all that we had archivists and researchers hired to document all of his life for the documentary and so I put a team of them on it paid them serious money looking every archive in this because we found out that there was one recording of his voice from the 1800s late late 1800s when he left he's born in 1847 died in 1906 so you know it's time but there's one recording of his voice and it was on one of those little Edison Emeril sleeve records or wax things you know to play the crank and I knew it was somewhere in this world so I sent them after they look and Smithsonian Institute the Library of Congress and every archive every historic archive in every university in America and around the world they're looking for because I wanna hear the sound of his voice and of course there was only one recording so it's lost of course but I had the dream and I could remember the sound of his voice from that and and so it was never found until last week yeah how how how important is the timing of God for hit us to hear the voices of those that carried something that is shaped who we are and we'll never be able to be written out of history because it carried too deep a place in us I want I want to encourage that this be a time that we ask the Holy Spirit to help every person here find those prayers and those promises and all those Covenant blessings that have been waiting for you to sing it louder than you've ever sung in your life and you're carrying those truths forward as well you know last time I was in Wales I gave him a word I said you know I said this I said the the tide of revival has been out for a long time but I said that tides coming back and you know for the for 18 years Denise and I've been going into the land of our fathers into whales and telling the stories in awakening though the honor of those that carry them and there's three times in my life that I've had those supernatural encounters with people like like Evan Roberts I actually sat in a room with Evan Roberts one time I've never told this publicly anywhere and won't tell you the rest of it I'm just telling you that there are some things that we don't know and don't understand and we cannot throw it in some book of you know reincarnation or raising the dead or whatever I'm telling you there is a spirit realm reality out there and God's waiting for the people that's going to step in to be I we don't need a church without walls we need one without veils we need to take all these veils down these veils of preference and preaching our personal preference as if they're convictions of the Holy Spirit and limiting the outrageous wondrous doings of God we got to stop that stuff the next time I was over there I gave him a word I said the tide is out but in that in this land that was born to reflect and resonate the Bluestone and grace upon that land and that sound upon that land said but the tide is gonna be coming back you can you can mark God's Word and promise no revival in Wales since 1904 but there's one coming and when that tide comes the whole world will know about it and and just a few the when when doc had this encounter about Wales just a few weeks ago that night the night before that is the tide that came in on Wales and that is no filters that is no monkeying with that's no Photoshop anything it said it's a phenomenon the cup in this called plankton that is shown up in the waves and the tide came in with the blue light the revelatory purposes of God are being awakened again in the land and and when it begins to move and Wales it's the whole world is going to experience it again because here is love and it's vast as an ocean loving-kindness as a flood you better believe that there's a tide coming back to Wales but the whole world is going to experience that tide like they did the last time the goodness of God the beauty of God the wonder of God that's the thing that life and songs are made of when God awakens nature to declare his glory and reveal his glory again may we be a people that hear a song on every wind and every bird has got a praise and every every step has got a poem every step has got life and it not just be some figuratively metaphoric language that carries nothing that's valid to humanity I'm gonna ask for an outpouring of God on your life tonight and on mine and this is a marking of a whole new sound a new day a new language and a new expression of God can i we all let me pray that lord I ask you to let the dreams that you have for every person in this room be ignited tonight Lord let let truth awaken us to the point that we carry song and we and I'm gonna ask for something really supernatural for our lives I've been asking the Lord for this anyway I've been asking the Lord you know or tell stories of revival and your wondrous works all over the world and everywhere I go I'm carrying seeds of revival every time I'm remembering and honoring these people that carried it I'm honoring God and here's what I've started asking God for this I'm this week starts my 48th year of ministry forty eight years on the road and here's one I'm asking God for I'm asking God to let me live my life around the singing and may I never weary if I'm carrying seeds a revival I want that one that means weariness goes away out of my life on the road and I'm gonna pray that over everybody here Lord I'm praying that you will you will deposit like Johnny Appleseed seeds into our lives that everywhere we carry these seeds fruit will come forward and I'm thinking your Lord for breaking the assignment of the enemy to bring weariness and striving we break it off of every life here and we asked for Holy Spirit energy to begin to invade every one of our lives and we and our bodies what we're asking for supernatural injections of life to be sown into us this night that the truth that we walk in will also be the truth that we dance in and the truth that we stand in and the truth that we move forward in let that truth awaken us all the way to every cell in our being of Jesus name in Jesus name
