this voyage and this morning we're all up at the crack of dawn to try and beat the tourists to one of Thailand's hidden gems accessible only by an 80 meter underwater cave swim in complete darkness oh baby we're going into a deep deep cave you might get a little bit scared okay it's really dark you and Darwin are gonna help man the ship with data while we go I know you do I won't be scared I know yeah Layla's gonna come listen baby it's it's not for kids okay kids are allowed in the cave it's just for big kids and that's that's a cave yeah there's a cave I'll show you the video when we get back okay can I kiss I know but you can't come I'm sorry guys it's gonna jump everyone hold on [Laughter] I look pretty sick actually my mom's a badass so Forrest and Layla haven't even had coffee yet and Riley's like if you want to do this game Drive you've got to go now because it is a bit Rocky in here we don't really know where to go I heard it was a few hundred meters this way and we just want [Music] we're just at the cave entrance now it's Layla's birthday today it's Layla's birthday is kicking off with an 80 meter swimsuit that's one for the Box honestly it's beautiful we frolicked around surrounded by Bait fish and even made two attempts at swimming into what we thought might be the entrance but obviously backed out not wanting to take any chances in swimming into the wrong cave and possibly getting lost I've seen way too many horror movies that started exactly like this so the cave really is too dark for us to swim through without a Time so we're gonna wait for a tour group to come and follow them just saying to Layla I feel like out of Bridesmaids whether their friends are like hiding behind the tree when there's the workout happening finally we found our guy with the head torch and we were off freaky oh my goodness there's a lot at the end of the tunnel you guys oh my goodness we did it apparently this isolated cave was found by locals because of the swallow birds flying above it it's really magical I feel like I'm dreaming Pirates also hid their treasure here back in the day foreign [Music] island hopping back to our Port of Call where this vessel would go into the hands of the owner finally it had been a really successful Shakedown crew so far and we're so glad we could have been of some help although we're obviously here for the opportunity for this adventure primarily I feel like you're getting it no no I still don't get it no but you're I'm a well you're at least quick to good job like that adjustment try go around even if you don't feel like you're getting that like from what you did at the top so now you just spent you just doubled your amount of time at the hill actually twice as good whether you realize it well you can probably tell that I was growing increasingly frustrated with the steering I felt like I was going crazy because nothing made sense to me and it seemed like it was becoming more and more difficult for me to maneuver this vessel it turns out that there was a small and complicated to explain problem with the steering which caused it to go backwards left was right and right was now left luckily it was an easy fix but it wasn't until later this evening that it got worse and we finally realized what was happening so we just left our Anchorage and we wanted to go to this beautiful white sandy beach for a swim before we set the sails for our new destination so these boats this is a Rapido the same as what we are currently building we're building a Rapido 60 60 foot this is a 50 foot and we recently sailed on the 40 as well so make sure you check out those videos if you missed them I'll pop them in the comments below loving the 50 though so much space really I play a lot [Music] we've been calling this part of the boat it really is the best place to come and hang Play Perfect [Music] so we get splash I've really loved falling into the sailing routine again the captain making decisions on sale changes myself and Forest out on Deck navigating and grinding winches Layla inside cooking and everyone kind of taking turns watching the kids when it feels like a well-oiled crew and you can really trust each team member you feel like you really could go anywhere [Music] that's so nice thank you [Music] yeah let's get the Mooring Bowl okay you got probably 20 meters hey nicely done what are they for do you want to explain to everyone just in case they missed I've got rabies but I did have rabies and now I'm just the pill word I guess we'll never know if Riley did have rabies in his system or not wow looks like 80 with the monkeys yeah yeah high high risk uh rabies in the Marquis and bats here so we took precaution when Riley punched a bunch of monkeys to save Darwin [Music] one of the monkey's teeth or a few of the teeth cut his finger so he had to have like 12 injections he passed out definitely go back I won he did win that was Brave to take on those monkeys there was so many of them so now he's on antibiotics antiviral and we need to find him a rabies shot today which is super inconvenient we gotta go find a clinic for his second rabies shot of five just about to launch this thingy and take it to the beach we've been living boat life for weeks now what's held Us in good stand is actually what Layla just referred to as Warrior paint the thickest sunscreen it's been so nice but today was the last day of my nails the roll started to fall off everything's just stripping away all signs of landlife feels really good [Music] this was just a stop for lunch and a swim at a tiny Island we'd be continuing on today to kolanta which was still a full day's sail away it's always a good idea to tire out the little boys before a full day of sailing black jacket on okay ready I'm sorry wait wait wait wait we're gonna do this up okay not ready yet hang on okay okay okay good shot yeah no that's okay [Music] [Music] nice work Layla you're gonna take your life check it off little man and your shirt too it's a bug [Music] s although there's certainly a few party Islands scattered around Phuket we found that most of the islands have a very mellow softly tuned Vibe shoes are definitely optional and don't expect to go anywhere in a hurry the people living on these islands keep their own time it was nice for us to slow down too hearing the rustle of the breeze through the coconut palms and rubber plantations and these beautiful sounds were only really interrupted by a call to prayer [Music] I know there are so many hermit crabs on this beach the whole Beach is just like now let's see what he wants what is it hey and clean yeah let him go find his mama yeah it's a mama crab wow don't drop that on your toes and you got our boat got a dinghy tell us where to go come on sleepy [Music] when you just come places [Music] a little bit chocolate and dyches has saved me on this trip but they're All of Me Maybe [Music] with the wind picking up it was time to set sail we're heading towards the White Sands of long Dao Beach [Music] thank you [Music] staring Works 90 of the time 100 of the time 60 of the time it works every time [Music] it's not unveiling like at home winning what I need to do is have some a couple of hours later the wind dropped off and Riley wanted to sail faster as he always does but of course the Mainsail was letting we had the Mainsail up we would have been going yeah so far the reason we don't have the whole Mainsail up is because on our first sale on this boat we run into some issues with the in boom furling we knew it was going to happen but basically it's jammed and we can only hoist it so far and we're unsure if it's going to come out like it's it's really jammed it's we're hoping the wind would like kind of unlock it and you know I don't know just bring it up but it's well and truly Stark and we're a bit worried like I hope we haven't broken it for good oh my gosh I was just sitting up here and Riley went to sit on that too and the sail slid and we lost our like folding this is Jam even with the Mainsail only able to go a bit of the way up we were all about to be seriously surprised all right tell me that again we were just doing it was the true wind oh true wind is 9.2 and we're doing 9.1 we're doing wind speed with a triple read Main sick that is astonishing the drone's not going to be able to catch up with us now that's the new problem we need to get a faster Drive [Music] [Music] how much that's good to me daddy that's actually [Music] that's incredible and that's not a big sign one that's not even richer instead we're doing 9.7 in 9.5 knots a win we're going above winsford this is sponsors oh [Music] oh yeah this is nuts Riley just said this is one of the best feelings I've ever had in my life this is as good as sexy we need it we need to loosen that sheet now okay just a smidge sure thing my knee was probably covered huh thank you [Music] [Music] this has actually been I want to say thee but I'll be a little bit careful and I'll say one of the best sales of my entire life [Music] foreign [Music] this is the first indication that I've had that this boat or the elbow the 60 might be able to do 1.4 times the speed of the window as promised we're on the far side of an island it's there's barely a breath of wind there's a gust there to 10 knots and we're doing 9.2 and you might be thinking well that's not even wind speed we've got a small light wind upwind sail up and a triple read mine a triple red main look at this [Music] so we've just got no sail up and we're just coasting along on the leeward side of this island and it's just like I went to put the sails away and then there was just a puff of wind to five knots and we went from two knots because it was slowing down I just went straight up to five knots and then it died down again to three knots so we were only going three knots and then there was another pit puff to seven and bang up we went again to seven knots it's like that's that is absolutely unheard of like that really is incredible it's the sort of sailing that I imagined that I dreamed that might be the case in these boats and it's it's happening right now it's absolutely bonkers oh my God [Music] so I'm not sure if that was if I was making sense before but over here we have got uh it's an island but mountains and they go like there's a mountain or like a peak and then a trough and then a peak and then a trough and so what happens is the wind funnels through the troughs and a funnels out like that and sailing on the other side of obstacles or geographical formations like that it's beautiful because the water's nice and calm and you can coast and you really get a lot out of the Puffs but it can be really frustrating if you have a boat that isn't powerful enough to get you from gust to gust to gust to gust and what I'm finding with this boat where I never have ever before and and even with three reeds in the main and this is the reason why I'm just losing my mind is that in the past we're able to generate such power that it's carrying me from one to another to another and I can just feel it's not very um objective but I can just feel the power behind the vessel and so it's the first time I've been really really excited because if I can tie together gust after gust after gust on the leeward side of islands that's that's really really beautiful sailing as a sailor a large part of my frustration that I've experienced in the past I can just feel evaporated now I'm very happy because one of the things that I hope might happen is definitely definitely gonna happen it's all fun and games until we have to flank the Mainsail without any lazy jacks stop all right try and get around into the wind of it yeah another radar we're nearly done elevator yeah let it let it off now we need to pick up The Mooring Bolt this looks good Tomatoes oh nice work we're on we're good like a boss wow you did so well to stretch that last little bit I thought it was gonna fall as she says it oh my God the kids well and truly had cabin fever after that full day at Sea so it was decided that we'd have dinner on the beach this evening this beautiful shot actually [Music] oh boy that's what you do if you fall in the water big black [Music] come on that one's broken thank you how do I get a regular silent toe Skipper nothing we were going to the last Island on our Voyage before reaching our home Port we had mixed emotions about moving off this vessel but mostly we just really didn't want to go back to landler [Music] oh [Music] these Cliffs behind me are just like something out of Jurassic Park or King Kong no no what you want and we're actually just coming up to our one we're actually just coming up to our last Anchorage before we head back to the mainland oh what can you say Lenny see any Turtles yeah I think that engine is nine power inside it nine power it's almost out of power oh okay the nine Power Nine the power all right it's like kind of nodded off at the calculator so Darwin just needed mama at the worst time then we came up to our Anchorage and all the Mooring balls were taken so last minute I had to read the guide and see if we could come in more here there were two Mooring balls they look pretty old I think someone's gonna have a dive down and see like if the line's okay because there's no wind tonight but if there is a squall will probably end up on those rocks or those rocks Forest has volunteered to check on The Mooring thank you no worries you gonna jump in yeah you want me to work yeah [Laughter] she did a front flip like such a good one you knew a backflip too that was a little creature up but yeah I know the little pre-jumps your turn back back flip yeah did you want me to uh horrible or can you take this with you sure and film it's still filming film you're doing a secret hey guys okay the shades of my backlist [Music] oh [Music] [Music] thank you okay how does The Mooring line look it's good there's a huge huge block of concrete on the bottom with a massive bit of stainless steel so that's all good it's dodgy close towards us but it's fine I'll put an anchor alarm on there's nothing predicted there's no big storms that I've seen no Angry looking clouds in the sky so um fun [Music] I do [Music] okay oh look at that start when you see this do you want to show me you what is it called I asked for a chicken pineapple salad actually got a pineapple [Music] um the amount of times we've brought him back covered in sand just wiped like this like you know he's had a good day baby boy are you as tired as that Lenny no no having to sleep with earplugs tonight this island peepee or Fifi we're not sure how to pronounce it it's a part of unfurling one sale and doing nine and a half knots in 15 down quick it's just bonkers [Music] [Applause] thank you it's letting off the topping left [Music] that's probably low enough hey [Music] I gotta say I can't really notice a difference with that board now so the same thing the same thing again today we're doing wind speed with three that would be three reads in the main which is like no sail up it's crazy it's insane to have such little sail up in 10 knots of true wind and we are doing 10 knots through with a normal sized head Sail Out well like a it's not a big sale to be doing this it's just insane I don't know if I said the other day to you guys but forest and I have been laughing because it feels like the Finger of God has descended from the heavens and he's just pushing us along and we're we've been uh we're in the finger of God's Own again at the moment and it's just the most incredible beautiful feeling flying mods [Music] just lost our win so we're murdering the last of the way in I can see our Marina now and we're back in the murky it's shrimp water where we started that's why we wanted to head south because the water got so much clearer but this morning was so peaceful like to wake up to Riley leaving watch the sun come up it was just peaceful like the sale was so beautiful and I think just like with all that's going on in the world this morning we all just felt so so grateful to be here to be free this beautiful boat yeah we just feel really lucky two beautiful healthy kids [Music] don't know what I ever did to preserve this really [Music] thank you foreign off at the back you want me to just run a really long line over here [Music] we've just we just spent ages cleaning the boat getting the kids off getting all of our stuff off I didn't film any of it because we're so busy and the kids were going nuts um so yeah we're done so stick around I'm gonna do I'm going to give you my final thoughts a few things that I absolutely love about the boat you know in a moment no just my final thoughts on life okay it's not just the 50s ah just life in general okay yeah that's exciting I'm excited to hear too I bet yeah so what's happening oh I'm Australian we're used to the the beach stand at home being like this but it's actually getting pretty hot so Forest shoes are in the motorbike and the dog is so hot you're right yeah every 1500 meters it's got a little cool off [Music] thank you so final thoughts uh it's big it's really big it's definitely big enough for a family it's probably set up better for a family because it's got the two rooms rather than three which Academy would have so yeah but you guys all know that the thing about this boat that sets it apart from others is the wind speed sailing and above wind speed and that it just opens up different worlds it's just completely different when you're looking at weather routing and weather systems and and when you're internalizing those numbers and that information it all just changes it's all just completely different for example you might be able to go 200 nautical miles during the daytime which is just astonishing we had an absolute ball on board so for those of you that are wondering what like oh well if the 50 is big enough for you then why go the 60 or why I've thought about the 60 in the first place and that is water line length which is going to be infinitely more comfortable same with all multi-holes bigger is better basically um more comfortable the sea State feels smaller if there was a 65 out there for the same price I might take it I would be starting to get a little hesitant on a 70-footer because I would be beginning to question whether or not I could single hand that but for the 50 and the 60 or the 50 was fine to Handle by myself solo and the 60 has the square meters of sale it's not that much more than the 50 that I think you know considering it was my first few days on that boat um yeah it's going to be easy so for those of you out there that aren't experienced multi wholesalers the thing that I said to Toby Hodges from yachting World when they when I did an article with them and the thing that I'll say to anyone that listens in a marina anywhere is you don't need to have your full man up so if you're scared of getting a powerful boat you're probably thinking about it wrong maybe you sail around with one Reef in or even two before you get comfortable with the boat there's no reason that you have to go sailing around with all like everything up I think that that's a really important point that most people don't understand and like honestly it's so weird like people don't like reefing just go through that with your partner regularly and just learn to do it once you do you feel pretty Invincible those bigger
