[Applause] that wine for us is so nice just kidding how are you all good thank you for waiting our apologies for being late it's my fault I've said one of those morning's where I can't put my left foot front of my right foot for some reason the trip was great and weather here is fantastic we had heard what it was on the on sale so I was expecting that when we got here and it's beautiful for so it's great to be back excited about just getting started we were watching the Jesse Owens movie the other night and it's funny if you guys have seen that movie it's amazing how many mountains he had to climb before he even got to the mountain climbing part and that's kind of feel today if you can just get out there if you can just get on the stage then you're among the people they'll take care of you but Cooper this has been a this has been one she's been taking care of me all morning kind of kind of like her a child or something she's been to create this you forget I forgot everything so but we get to go back home in between and we'll get what we forgot get it here we're lucky enough to be here for a while never really good at talking at you that makes any sense much rather talk with you so we love questions Aaron's telling us though we got a load of one-on-ones so to make this like 10 minutes or somewhere we can just questions so if you don't mind we'd love to take questions and then one thing we ask you if you're going to ask a question is identify yourself so we'll know we're talking to play chess fish hey I'm good to see you everybody good fun because you're next no it's out of fear of being raised by my dad who was a former Marine and my mom who was tougher than he was and if you didn't if you didn't mind your manners his back in the day when mom said they would call whatever the letters are they call him now on them the way they raised their kids but yeah your ears would be ringing for a while if you weren't nice and you'd marry he is I won't say I should really be the one answering that question known each other now for 20 almost 30 years nine years something like that really the nicest guy ever and you think that at some point the other she's got a fall like there's nobody's just nice and truly this night even if we're having an argument he still opens the car door he's just he's a gentleman even if he's mad he's nice so um yeah the nicest guy ever it's a true story my daughter my youngest daughter made this shirt for me as a prank for Christmas because that's all I ever say it's very sweet so well yeah so you actually are very sweet that was to you yes it's a wonderful question the thing is what do you give each other we always wondered what we gave because it seems like in this business I'm going to leave her out of this in this business I feel like I take and take and take people are so sweet and they give you stuff and they're always and I don't know how many concerts you go to as a concert goer but it's a pain in the ass to go to a concert it's tough to go to a concert you have to go through so much and it's not cheap and it's never an easy thing to do so to know what these people have gone through just to come and applaud you I just we think so if there's any way that you get to pay that back either through the economic issue or the economic pack that it makes in that area good for them but I got to tell you I always feel like we're kind of taken on this end do you want to leave a city and you want to feel like when we want we hope that everybody came you know so it's a it's been really nice to hear when when you do hear that it the city benefits you know it's good very sweet amen I now need a switch judges a min on Breyer you were not here last time oh and I mean on the earth that's what means everything I don't know what your rules are here but I'm pushing for capital punishment the states for scalping just don't like it and like people getting in between the artists and the people that allow them to be an artist those people that don't give it about you or me until the show gets here now they want to get in the middle of me and you I don't like that and I've not been paved not been secret about that so I dig it I can't believe people want to come I'll or why I could get it there because I love to watch her saying I don't get it with us so people come and if they want to come and there's more demand than we have room for tickets open up the next show we just did it in Philly and we just did it in Las Cruces Philly we're at this place Philly holds 18 19,000 we opened up a show and I think they sold six thousand so it's going to be in be one of the greatest shows we've ever done because we compact and for some reason these people will look around these empty seats and feel they have to make up for those empty seats so they'll be three times as loud and it's it's a joy and it's another day you get to play music I think people are most artists are probably afraid to do that because they don't want to play to a house that's not full because they don't want the perception that but you know when you got nine shows if one of them is not full because you decided to make sure everybody wanted to get got one that's a pretty cool thing and they have been with the times that you've done that I think it's really cool that you do that yeah well you played those shows too and they're just there's something about the people they try so much harder and again here we go well I grant said I'll to do is give and give and give and all you feel like you do is take and take and take yes hey rot two rings raise your daughter yeah well where we empty that oh my gosh whatever I said man your kids are gonna be grown the house is going to be empty and we're like yeah because we're going to be gone like we're not going to be there I think most people retire and they and they buy an RV empty nesters you Brian are we just we just decided to go on the road and you know we're going the road just like everybody else I don't know I think it's this guy here when we had three three girls when it went from three to two it got a little quieter when it went down to one it was tough you know got quiet and this guy likes a really loud house and when I knew when she left it was going to be rough and so and this is also a guy who just likes to go go go so we talked about it you know a lot and just said if was just let's just test the waters and see and the first city was Chicago and I think that was 12 shows 11 shows so it was like I think it is he work this could be a good thing so that's been pretty awesome are we dropped our youngest baby off in college August 17th the first show in Chicago was September 4th so we had about two weeks of empty-nest driving me crazy and we kind of got started so what we in all honesty my mom had a real hard problem with empty-nest hard last six kids so I saw it happening she saw it happening with me and she said would you ever think about going on tour again I said well yeah I think about it but would they and people have been the people have been amazing the way they've shown it well the city is a perfect yes ma'am what is your name please no you're fine I miss Kirby I have no idea I have no idea oh you can go in that town you can go back 30 years ago in that town you're going to find people that can run circles around me play music playing guitar writing whatever why is that why it falls in your lap I can answer that I think it's the experience I think it's I really do think this tours we call the Garth experience because I get to see the tour from a different vantage point I come out in the show and I do my stuff then I watch the rest of the show like everybody else and I get to see out into the crowd and really see the joy on people's faces the tears within certain songs and you see generations sharing those things together you see the the moms and dads that we're coming to see these shows in the 90s and they bring their kids back because they want them to have the experience and the kids know the songs and the kids who weren't born yet are singing the words it's an experience it's not just going to a show to hear music and I think people get a chance to go in and forget the troubles of the world for a couple hours and and then and just and just enjoy so that's what I think it is Kirby here so here's a couple things that will rock your socks off data okay ticket agencies are telling us 48% of the people it's buying tickets on this tour we're ten years older not even born yet last time right so so that's pretty cool I mean that makes you feel good so you get to see the faces you want to see again but yeah you're seeing a whole new generation and then the 90s which was claimed country music's heyday where this was part of a tour that set the record in the 90s for five million hard tickets in 100 cities we just sold our five million ticket in 60 cities and that ticket is here it's in this city next weekend is going to be history it's going to be awesome so we're going to get everybody warmed up this weekend and I invite anybody that wants to get back on the ride getting a kick back in line for next weekend cuz it's it's going to be stupid fun yes sir hey Jay I saw you three times in Saskatoon all right and I got to ask you first show I like opening night play Saturday play Sunday I'll only keep your energy up for every single show cos Sunday you were just as high as higher than you think you know yeah the thing that's battling is age of horse and then this thing of course is you know it's rattling as well but I do have to tell you you have just hit the nail on the head what people don't understand is they think you coming here and your tank goes down you come into a city for us Jimmy Mattingly the fiddle player Mike Palmer you start to fill up and then crazy here comes Saturday after Friday maybe two shows on Saturday here comes Sunday and Sunday you feel better get on Friday because you're filling your tank up it's amazing it's again that's what we're talking about it's that take-take-take thing people think you get worn down but the truth is man well you saw you just get more wired more fired up love it cuz each shows different opening night should be different because there's only one opening night but another reason why it should be different is the people that's coming to next night they've waited a little longer so there's something different for them and then the last night neat city is what we call kitchen sink night we're going to throw everything we've done all those and even save some stuff that nobody sees except the last show and that's what makes it fun for us you know and hopefully it makes it fun for the people again soon thank you for you want to hey Chris like your shirt what does me we were actually there's a hair massacre which is happening at the big neck shave accounted for fifteen three years shopping next Friday ok million dollars holy cow that's why we've got these my wife's not interested garland you get it so that's why we're doing echo most important I want to ask you about charity we mean honestly thank you for only having a short window earrings we're getting so many requests from people wanna meet you want to see you or convinced somehow YouTube can make a difference in their lives like I mentioned you talked to you on here it's almost like a spiritual thing Pacific Church observe every night when it's here right get something special and I know you probably can't explain it there's something special every day for nine straight makes when you get on the future arrived yeah what I hope it is love that's what hope it is it's just it's just a place hopefully where you come here and feel like the persons that next to you loves you and you love them and you get to celebrate through music and the coolest thing that you can give an entertainer or an artist is to say first dance at our wedding just make you feel Mela you're not even there but you were there your music is to be there and for some reason they confuse you with that music which is always in your favor which is great so she can tell you right now it's very sweet she said I'm a nice guy but she knows the real me and it's what people hopefully put you on like when I put my heroes on a pedestal there's no way they could really in real life live up to that but that's what we do is people so it's very it's very I'm trying to say very sweetly it's very sweet that people do that to you as an artist to do it to her as an artist as well good luck with the shaving thing there's a lot of people in here and I know we're running quick but is anybody did anybody not get a question they will get or want to get in the one-on-one everybody good you sure thank you all for tonight
