hi book lovers welcome back to my channel we are already halfway over halfway through 2021 and i really wanted to talk about all the book series that i have completed so far this year the series that i started this year and already completed i've always been the type of reader to avenge a series especially if all the books are already out and i actually completed quite a few series this year about 18 of them but i will say they're not like overly long series the shortest ones are only two books but still i finished a lot of series this year quite a few of them are by julia quinn because i decided back in december to read every single julia quinn book so i did i read all of her historical romances which means a lot of the series i completed are by her so i'll just talk about her books first get them out of the way i'll talk about my ratings that i gave for each of the books in the series i'll also give my reading for the series as a whole and i'll say which is the best book in the series and which book is the worst in the series the first series that i started and completed in 2021 was the smi smith quartet by julia quinn there are four books in the series just like heaven a night like this the sum of all kisses and the secrets of sir richard kenworthy this series of course follows the smythe smiths their family the siblings and cousins it's kind of a spin off of the bridgerton series the smyte smiths were mentioned throughout the bridgerton series they're the family who puts up these awful musicals and they don't really have that much musical talent and they do each of them get their books this series and actually a lot of julia quinn series for me has quite the range of ratings usually if i read a series i'll give like a consistent rating throughout i gave one book four stars one book three and a half stars one book three stars and another one one star so i guess for me the series is an average three stars for me it's not the best julia quinn series it's definitely not my favorite series from her but it is still fun and pretty light-hearted and similar in vibes to bridgerton i will say the series does end with the worst possible book ever so looking back i don't really have that many warm feelings for the series as a whole so obviously the worst book for me is before the secrets of sir richard kenworthy that one i gave one star i hated hated the hero in that one and the best one for me was a night like this book two which is about the smythe smith brother who finally returns home after being exiled my next complete series is the bevel stoke series also by julia quinn which has three books the three books in the series are the secret diaries of miranda cheever what happens in london and 10 things i love about you so the series is about the bevelstoke siblings the brother sister and the brother's best friend the series also has my only other one star read from julia quinn and basically if julia quinn has the word secret in the title that book is not great for my ratings i gave one book four stars one book three stars and another one a one star the series average for me was two and a half stars and i would really just recommend only reading one book which was my favorite in the series book three ten things i love about you the hero in that one was so so sweet and my worst book in the series was my one star the secret diaries of miranda cheever next is julia quinn's splendid trilogy which is her very first debut series we have splendid dancing at midnight and minx overall the series for me was very okay she has definitely improved since the series since her debuts i pretty much gave all of them three stars one of them maybe three and a half unlike the other series that i talked about this series focuses on a group of friends it's not about a certain family or some siblings the best one for me was dancing in midnight mainly because of the broody hero he's this scarred a former soldier and he is such a grump and the worst one for me probably has to be splendid even though it's fairly tied with minx but splendid for me was just the most forgettable one of the series julia quinn has a couple two book series this one is the dukes of windom series there is the lost duke of windom and mr cavendish i presume so this series for me has another wide range of ratings i gave one book five stars and one book two stars the best one easily for me is the first book the lost duke of wyndham and the worst one was book two mr cavendish i presume book one was so so much fun mainly because of how unique and different the story was and also the hero is a highwayman hero the duet has a pretty different vibe than her other books which read more like rom-coms and this one is definitely not quite as lighthearted and funny as her other series i mean you can probably tell by how different these covers are than her other books and basically the duet centers around the title of the duke of windom and these characters trying to find out who the true duke is whether it's the current duke or this long-lost son and both books actually happen at the same time they cover the same timeline which didn't really work for me because by the time i finished book one i already knew what would happen at the end of book two so i guess i would average the series this duet at three and a half stars but honestly i would just read the first book or just read one book in the series i also read the rogue speech series by julia quinn which is the prequel series to the bridgertons even though it's technically written after the butcher tins it's set like one generation before though we do get to see baby anthony benedict and colin this four book series is about the roxby family the rogue space siblings each of them get their own book and three of them actually fall for butcher tins who are the rogue speeds family friends the four books in the series are because of miss bridgeton the girl with the make-believe husband the other miss butcherton and first come scandal my average for the series is three and a half stars it's not the best from julia quinn but it's not the worst either i gave two books three stars and two books four stars the best in the series for me is the girl with the make-believe husband book two because of the whole amnesia trope and also the fake marriage in it because the heroine pretends to be the hero's wife while he has amnesia and the worst book in the series is probably because of miss bridgerton it could have been the other miss burger tin but this one edges out book one just a little bit because i love that this one has a captain hero but because the miss butcher tan is just an ok read like julia quinn definitely has better brother's best friend romances than that book another two book series that i finished is the lyndon sisters series about two sisters who are daughters of a vicar the two books are everything in the moon and brighter than the sun and here are the pretty back covers so this series is one of julia quinn's better series at least for me i gave both of them four stars so it's a very solid four star series for me but if i had to choose one that was a little bit better i guess i would have to go with everything and the moon only because of the second chance romance and that's like my favorite trope and i love the angst here i mean it's not that angsty it's still pretty light-hearted because it is julia quinn but is still some good angst for a julia quinn book though book 2 is still pretty fun especially with the marriage of convenience but the hero did get on my nerves a little bit because he was at times very condescending and the last series that i read from julia quinn is the agents of the crown series another two book series these books are about two spy heroes the books in the series are to cash in heiress and how to marry a marquis and these are the pretty back covers this series average for me is three stars because i gave one of them four stars and another one two stars the best one and the one that i highly recommend is how to marry a marquis though i will admit for a spy romance there's not as much spy stuff not as much action as there was in book one to catch an heiress but i still loved it so much more because it's got the fake identity trope and the heroine it needs to marry someone rich in order to save her family the worst one for me is of course book one to catch an heiress this one these characters just got on my nerves so so much it's enemies to lovers but in the worst way possible i also read and finished the game changer series by also madden mills though i will admit i'm not 100 sure that there won't be another book in the series but i tried looking it up tried looking on the author's page and she never really mentioned anything about writing another book in the series so i'm just gonna include it say it's a two book series so these are adult sports romances football romances and i sadly did not love them as much as i wanted to i gave both of them three stars so it's a very average series for me a three star series for me i think i liked not my match just a little bit more because of the whole roommates trope the friends to lovers trope that part was really fun but overall these books weren't anything too amazing for me not that memorable for me but i will say it was nice to listen to these in audio because they're both on ku i also read and finished the hitman series by jessica claire and jen frederick which is a mafia romance series i will say it is pretty lighthearted and not too dark for a mafia romance series but there's still some good amount of action especially in the later books the four books in the series are last hit last breath last kiss and last hope the series as a whole is pretty okay for me i would say it's like a three star average i gave one book four stars and the rest of the series three stars and my favorite the one that i gave four stars to was actually book one the last hit because it was really fun for me the hero he follows an insta love and just ends up stalking the heroine and i'm not gonna lie i was totally into it the worst book in the series though has to be last hope the last book in the series mainly because of how ridiculous the hero was the hero there has such a giant penis that no woman ever wanted to sleep with him so that whole thing i was just like um okay i also read the everly sisters series by emily howard there are two books in the series about the two everly sisters there is the beast of beswick and the raquel of roth so these two sisters are basically trying to get away from this predatory lord who wants to marry the younger sister and both the sisters end up marrying someone in order to protect their family the series overall is good-ish for me i'm giving it three and a half stars overall because i gave one book four stars and one book three stars the better one for me it was the beast of bezik i really liked the beauty and the beast vibes from it and the other book the second book is my worst one in the series mainly because i was disappointed by how little the hero groveled in that one i also read the love after series by alexandria house all of these are really quick and steamy reads the three books in the series are higher love made to love and real love it's a series about three best friends and i believe this is alexandria house's very first debut series sadly it's my least favorite series from this author i gave it three stars all the books in the series three stars my favorite one in the series is probably the first book higher love because i really liked how the main characters met in that one the heroine is a travel blogger and she meets the hero at a festival and the worst one for me was made to love because of all the ex-drama in it that i just was not into i also read the made of steel series by ivy smoke this trilogy this three book series is the first series so far that is continuous it follows the same main characters and you have to read them in order the books are made of steel forced in flames and carved in ice it's a noodle romantic suspense series set in college the heroine is in the witness protection program because her stepfather who is also a mafia boss he is going after her so it follows the main character her when summer who is now also known as sadie and her three possible love interests we have miles who is the boy growing up next door she had to leave him even though they were best friends and now they reunite in college but of course she has to pretend to be someone else since she's in the witness protection program there's also eli who is just a regular classmate of hers and there is also v who is a new york city vigilante who hides his identity if you like romantic suspense i would say give the series a try but overall it was still just an okay series for me i gave it three stars i gave each of the books three stars i will give it credit and say that it got me hooked and i could not stop reading the series but the hairaway just was so dumb way too many times the romance was alright mainly because it is pretty obvious who summer will choose in the end the best book in the series for me was the last book harpin ice mainly because we finally get all the answers and the worst one was book two fortune flames because that book was where summer made the most dumb decisions i read the filthy rich series by angelina lopez she is a new favorite author that i discovered this year there are three books in the series lush money hey crush and serving sin which only just released so my average rating for the series is four and a half stars very very close to a five i gave two books in the series five stars and one book in the series four stars it's such a great series it's a great angsty and intense royal romance series it follows the royal family these royal siblings of this fictional spanish kingdom this fictional spanish principality my favorite of the series the best one of the series for me i kind of had a hard time choosing but i went with hay crush which is book two this one is the second chance romance of the series it is so so angsty there's some good groveling in it the hero here who is a rock star he pretty much knew that he made the biggest mistake of his life when he broke up with our princess heroine and now he wants her back and they have this whole fake relationship thing and the angst just killed me in the best way possible my least favorite of the series the worst one is serving sin which i mean it's still good but definitely not as good as the first two books it's a bodyguard romance but it just didn't hit quite as hard as the first two books i also read another sports romance series the player series by nana malone this one is the longest series that i read so far this year there are six books but i will say they are all pretty short reads like 250 pages max for each book it's a series that follows the coulter family the culture siblings each book is about a different sibling and for the sports there are all different kinds of sports we have tennis football running hockey and basketball the titles are named after the main culture character in that book we have bryce dax echo fox ransom and gage the player series is a pretty okay series for me they're all really quick and short reads my average for the series has to be three stars because i gave most of them three stars there's only one book that i gave four stars to and that one was my favorite box was definitely the best of the series this one is the hockey romance we have the friends to lovers trope the best friends there become roommates and then become something more the worst one was sadly the last book in the series gage because i was not a fan of the beginning it was kind of cringe to me the heroine witnesses the hero getting blown in a bathroom and she gets hot over it and i was just not feeling that i also read the madison kate series by tate james which is a four book series a series that you have to read in order and is continuous centered around our four main characters because it's reverse harem we have one heroine and three heroes and it's such a great solid series it's a new favorite reverse harem series for me i really really loved it the four books in the series are hate liar fake and kate it's enemies to lovers there's romantic suspense lots and lots of action and steam my average rating for the series is four stars and even though i did give each book in the series four stars the best one for me probably has to go to kate the last book because we finally get the orgy scene at the end and the worst one i would say goes to liar book 2. i read another reverse harem series when it comes to reverse harem there are a lot of continuous theories and once i read book one i have to continue this one is my current new favorite reverse harem series it's the dark side series by christy cunning i am really sad to say that this author recently passed away she also wrote under cm owens st abby i love these books so much i loved her writing so she definitely will be missed the dark side series is a four book series we have four psychos three trials two kingdoms and one apocalypse like i said it's a continuous series following one heroine and four heroes it's paranormal romance kind of urban fantasy as well it's such an amazing series there are monsters and demons lots of epic battles a lot of it takes place in hell literal hell the devil shows up it was just a really unique concept and i love the action and i love the humor it's basically about a heroine who is a ghost she is this ghost who wanders around and follows our four heroes who can't see her until they finally do and from there they try to figure out who she is because she has no memory of who she is my average rating for the series is four and a half stars it is very close to a five i still loved it though i gave two books in the series five stars and two books in the series four stars the best one is easily for psychos it was just such a great unique concept and i was just hooked from the very beginning the worst one is probably a book three two kingdoms because this is when the plot gets a little messy and complicated still i did really enjoy it and i even kind of loved the ending of the series which not a lot of people did and the last series that i read so far in 2021 is the berkeley faulkner series by lisa clavis the berkeleys and the faulconers are not related but the heroines in both books become really good friends in the first book and we're passion leads these two are lisa clayface's very first published books where passion leads and forever my love i actually read them recently in order to compare them to her new 2021 release that video is already up these two are regency historical romances and my average for them is three stars because i did i really enjoy one and i really did not enjoy one i gave one book four stars and one book two stars the best one for me was where passion leads i was really surprised by this one mainly because there is some pretty uncomfortable content at the beginning of the book but i did enjoy it overall but book two i did not like this was such a disappointment it's the worst one for me because i just did not feel the love from the hero and the heroine she disappointed me at the end it's not the best lisa klepa series and i'm glad she's improved since the late 80s but i'm still really glad that i read these two i almost forgot to include this one last series the if love series by anna huang it's four books that follow a group of college classmates who become best friends during their study abroad program in shanghai the four books are if we ever meet again if the sun never sets if love had a price and if we were perfect my average rating for the series is four stars i pretty much gave them all four stars except one of them is closer to three and a half these series is a little different because the first two books are actually pretty much a duet they focus on one couple and the next two books are about two different couples we know because book two is a second chance romance that in book one that couple by the end of the book that couple breaks up so those two you definitely need to read in order but the next two books you can probably read as standalones and book one because it's set in college it's noodle whereas the rest of the series takes place a couple years after so those are adult contemporary romances the best one in the series is if love had a price this one has a pretty unique setup we have a rich heroine who wants to break up her dad and gold digging stepmother future gold digging stepmother so she hires the hero who wants to be an actor she hires him to break them up and the worst one for me is if we ever meet again which is the first book in the series the one that sets up the rest of the series i mean it's still a good start but i definitely loved the other books in the series more than this first book those were all the series that i started and completed in 2021 so far i do have some other series that i plan on finishing some that i even plan on finally starting and finishing in the second half of the year i really want to read some more reverse harem series like the haiti series by tay james which is a spin-off of the madison kate series there are four books in that one and the fourth one is coming out next month in september so as soon as that one is out i can finally binge the series i also want to read all the pretty monsters by christy cunning another paranormal reverse harem series after how much i love the dark side series by her i have to read this other one and also a lot of people recommended this series as well to me i am definitely gonna finish up the westmoreland series the westmoreland saga from judith mcnaught i read the first two books earlier this year whitney my love and a kingdom of dreams i love these two especially whitney my love and the last book in the series is book three until you so i will be reading this one soon this one is about the brother of the hero from whitney my live about steven and it's also got amnesia so i am very very excited i am hoping to finish the grace trilogy by autumn gray but this is at the whim of my library i have been waiting so long for them to finally get the audiobook of the third book they got the first two and i finished them so now i am waiting on this last book it's a forbidden noodle romance series because the hero wants to be a priest i also have a two nicki sloan series that i need to finish up this year if you've been following me you probably already know how much i have been loving her this year so i need to finish her nashville neighborhood series there are three books in the series i'm not sure if there's gonna be a fourth but i'm just gonna include it here i read the first two books the doctor and the pool boy which i enjoyed so so much they are very very steamy age gap romances and i just recently got both three from the author the architect which is a menage romance mfm and i can't wait to read it and the other series is her filthy rich american series which currently has four books out and her fifth one is coming out later this year it was actually supposed to come out in july but she pushed it back to october according to goodreads i love the series so so much though especially at book four the redemption and book five is supposed to be the last hale family member to get his book it's vance's story we already got his brother's book his dad's book so i'm just dying for his book now i'm also planning on finishing up the kingmaker chronicles series by amanda boucher i recently just read book one a promise of fire for my book club i loved it it's a great fantasy romance a great first book in a fantasy romance series and i'm planning to read the next two books pretty much next week and finally i am for sure gonna be completing the bloodline vampire series by katie robert i literally just read the first two novellas i read them in one night i've been holding off on them because they were kind of pricey for novellas but they just recently went on ku so i just had to get them and read them the third and final book queen is supposed to come out this month actually in august there's no set release date but the author does plan to release this month the series is a paranormal vampire reverse harem series there's one heroine who ends up with three heroes i do really like the series and i'm just really looking forward to the final book that's all i have for this video let me know your thoughts if you have read any of the series if you're planning on reading these series or you can share any other series that you really want to complete this year links to all the books all the series will be down in the description below thank you so much for watching and i'll see you all next time bye
