Christmas last year like talk about like we get into like December right now going to January like I mean I notice been such a long journey but like you have to feel like this year's been pivotal and in Griselda's growth like can you look back at it and put it into context I mean this was kind of like just a year just running over [ __ ] you know last year when we did it you know that was after Tanner talk you know I'm saying yeah you know he was you know going off the hype of that and it was a good year too but it wasn't more impactful than this year it's like once we've seen that we had people with tension from 19 I mean 18 it was just like now now we got a really show [ __ ] who Griselda's because before it was like he was dropping a lot of projects but it was falling on deaf ears a lot of times like we had our cult following but for the masses people still like who was Griselda who's Griselda so I was like one standard talk three drop and we kind of start getting on the scene a little more and I had the supreme blind self it was like you know everybody paying attention I we got a really shown you know saying so that's why it's like we drop so many projects this year cuz it's like before this year over you gonna know who Griselda is was like getting that momentum Betty in your viewpoint cuz like like he said like tents are freed up I was the first project I really connected with you and then it was just like you put the work in this year it's like use my favorite rapper like [ __ ] like man it was dope it was like like he said just getting the getting the right ears and the right attention that we need it there's a time and thing it was all about timing it and once that we had everybody locked in I'm saying we delivered I'm saying Showtime all right what about you can't wait you can't forget about you look what I became project whoo ya know like they said man I just you know trying to match the guys and just just keep our foot on your neck you know I mean they mean mean in the industry okay you know I'm there going you know where we come from you know I write what a chip on my shoulder because we never really get the shot so now that we got it you know I mean we got the ball we can't fumble right so that's why we applying the pressure we apply it but you got that touchdown well yeah I saw that picture of you guys in jay-z that rock nation situation like that really set the tone and made everyone pay attention to what was going on yeah yeah I was I was definitely home 7 points on the board what was that finally right uncle like I know you had knew you knew Jay for a while you guys had early discussions like why do you think this was a year to make that alliance of roc nation officially of course like I said so he's about Simon and it was just like on you know it started off with Benny saying yo I want to be right I want to be over at the rock nation he told me that the car actually I made a car I'm put a call in you hit me and um you know at the time you know said I'm real cool with hip-hop you know saying and all you know we was always talking and and you know I have been already approached hip-hop on management as well Hovind over like y'all was going on with them and [ __ ] me I've just started bill and so it you know when I went over to the rock nation we went over there we went over there with hop so that was the difference this time it wasn't like I was going over there and somebody appointing me somebody to watch over Griselda it was like I went over there with my own team and I mean so sheltered chasing out the hip-hop break him down cuz I sure know him from working with Rocky in the past and we got him on the podcast it's playing what role he had in that too yeah no that's that's that's the team you know saying that's broke I'm saying hey man hop agency 78 you know San so it's like you know when I was talking to how that like you know he's going back and forth talking about this he was like yo you know should I want to do this but I want to get a partner to kind of help me do everything as well and all I had just got off the phone with Chase so I'm like hold on I think just give me give me a few minutes our car chase started talking to chase about it she's like man that's my brother I didn't want to do you know I'm saying so then we just start going back and forth all in the same day [ __ ] we you know I mean they did what they had to do together and then I came out to LA me and Benny was out here you know Santa's [ __ ] went over there see chase he told how he was in sound hot so hole we was in town that night no they first time went straight to whole house same day okay I'm saying so many why did you want to make that move man why'd you why'd you put the battery in everybody's back make that official man I felt I felt like a a person like me what I came from what I stand for put my projects together in the Grizelda movement I felt it was right to be over there before them saying I had like different interviews with different managers and I'm saying top [ __ ] who manage top [ __ ] in the game right now a couple of them was a gold man shout out to my boy sad man but when you we I'm saying when you talk when you talk the rock nation branding you talk Griselda you talk culture I'm saying it all makes sense to me I made sense so I wanted to make that move with a certain song that Jen connected to you guys play for him or he already knew of course the 97 holy 7 hope and I'm saying but he said he said he was a big owner album tend to talk 3 I'm sandy city he said he listened to the whole album no I'm a name and that's crazy just to hit I think it's a he was listening to my whole album said he listened to West shake Carly [ __ ] he told me that to my face on and I just that was the thing to like you know I knew he was a Jane with Fame no Griselda you some saying so it was like it just it made a lot of sense you know I'm saying and you know he all the way tap then you know say you'll be surprised like he knew lyrics and songs and everything so it was just like and I've seen the respect was there you know you can't invited this to uh they had to show last year at the Barclays when it was on top 20 list so like he was just showing signs of like I'm [ __ ] with John and I was always cool with law you know I'm saying I was the homie I've always been cool with Emery so there was already family like I stayed in touch with them through this whole thing like I've been cool with them even before the shady deal so it was just like you know they got this new album though man wish what was she and guns doing in a shady on any records how do you know what the response has been so far this [ __ ] what about you con what you think about it I think it's been great and I'm saying especially with the kind of content and how we gave it up on that album you know I'm saying to see like the people that I was expecting that I that I wanted to see [ __ ] were they like like I'm big on like you know like the legends like the you know the guys who paved the way for you know this whole a prophecy and to be in existence you know I'm saying that the guys we fell in love with the guys that's and everybody's top five well you got [ __ ] like that saying you and Nate's are five or you they favorite artists or just a favorite album I mean I really don't care about the sales or did not know what nobody else got to say I'm the [ __ ] I'm trying to impress so I I think the response being kind of great I'm saying that's be a full-circle moment for you to Betty cause like when Scotty listen to ruin 95 you got Raekwon opening the project yeah yeah you know I'm saying this is big I feel like I feel like the people got what they want to integral the project yeah produced all by derringer and be butcher and then that just that bra brasil to flow not too many hooks no sentence no sample was crazy all street music and it was fun doing it you know i'm saying the response been been doped like he said all the legends is tapped in a buddy who we admire growing up and I'm saying I say a lot I mean I just let us know that we going in the right direction yeah that's the two days less than two days that's all he stole that out we made the album in less than two days really Wow studio seriously the whole album was done in less than two days what was the inspiration like what were you guys that was in it we just need us to maybe shovel would you recorded and premiere in Times Square oh no same building where my uh billboard out say milli what was the key how did you guys catch that inspiration and be like go go all in if y'all want an album surround we could get you on tomorrow we can make myself that's the thing is just us getting together at point where it's like knocking out one or two joints isn't enough like you guys is like putting that work in and then she just gotta stay hungry man you know for me is like I wanted more than everybody else so you know I don't mind putting in the work I know the work that I need to be put in but it's almost becoming like you know like that [ __ ] Lamar Jackson doing right now it's an NFL we just making it look easy right now be done two days that's crazy man and also like Shady Records okay you wanna say we love Marsha we love Paul but being on like the idea of shitty records we think we're gonna make like oh this is the commercial single two or three commercial singles and maybe your raw aesthetic is underneath that but we get this album with the whole thing is wrong yeah how does that happen they've got the commercial single man you heard on me man my shooter doing bad again meetings like that like how does that happen how do you make sure that like I mean it says Ross and mixtape and yeah Shady Records yeah how does that because I mean I'm not changing shift for nobody that's just what it is without love and respect but everybody know that yeah I'm saying anybody that could take offense to that already knows why I'm saying what I'm saying you know I wouldn't I wouldn't get in business with nobody if they're not gonna let us do what Griselda need to do beginning for Griselda you know I mean even though it seemed like we didn't drop a million projects but this is still the beginning so it's just like we you know we have a funnel best believe we might not make no progress but we definitely in the club not to cut you off or all jokes aside like the record you know the album is very polished like we put a lot of thought into it yeah we're very methodical and strategic how we approach that shape and we just was in a crazy zone you know I'm saying those those couple days we had the studio booked for like a week where we was just an unbelievable zone like the [ __ ] damn German was making them beats on the spot and we was no sample we had no pen and paper nothing like we thinking on this ish you know so not beginning as a formula but we keep coming up with the shape we creating this [ __ ] on spot so it ain't like we just had a notebook full of [ __ ] you know I'm saying but you would think like Snickers salamullah here they did I mean we did have like a day and a half two days you would think it was just some Russia we just do out there like now we really put together an incredible body of work and put our all in that [ __ ] you just seem so effortless and easy because I know how good we are and we are we and we went into the situation already mentally prepared like because we know like you okay we know we flying up we flying in New York we got the sessions on this day you know so we know so we already mentally prepared to do what we do in and [ __ ] it's fun to us you know I'm saying this this what we here for us about lacing up my boots like I let's do it yes oh yeah definitely Scotty's definitely Scotty's we was in a couple sessions [ __ ] was and they're getting a haircut laying a verse at the same it was dope I like being an old situation telling conversations I think one of the dopest things about the project outside of the music is the cover itself of clear on it like whose idea was that to put it on the front on the cover man right here that was all you go why do you think that was great I just felt like clay was the buffalo mascot man you know I'm saying you know all of us up here is real genuine dope boys like we didn't did that [ __ ] for real you know I'm saying you know Claire you know she's a you know victim said said the circumstances of Buffalo so it's just like you know Claire's is one of those people that go from every hood from hood the hood hood the hood hood the hood all day long you ask for you know ask for bread you know I'm saying so like everybody in the city being is like no Buffalo so small people still see if she want to cover but people see her every day so it's like you know because the thing about it is you know she's still in that type of situation you know so it's like you know it's unfortunate you know I mean like you could give a [ __ ] like that $100,000 and still might be out there doing what they doing that's a nice life you know I'm looking at the project Malik what do you think that means to your whole discography in your career and well yeah man I think I think it was big and and I'm not gonna lie I go and I going to these projects with confidence in the formula that we use I say that in all the interviews and and I knew that everybody had my back putting it out so I knew that the people I know I had two people here like like we said in the beginning like we we knew we had two people ears just about more people looking at ever and I tasted blood you know I'm saying and I knew where to hit him at and uh I kind of knew I kind of knew that my next project at the tender talked three if I just go hard what it was gonna be and and I delivered and [ __ ] shows be crazy man I [ __ ] uh mother [ __ ] plugs I meant life was [ __ ] crazy and get to bed it just like shonky just like ten to talk three live was crazy is obese yeah before I'm saying so the energy is crazy man you're just gonna keep this [ __ ] up man foot on these [ __ ] next the Kanye that look what I became man can't forget about that I gonna front I slept for a little bit then I came because there's so much music out then I listened to her press play and I kept rewinding cuz it was so many lines that maybe just do spit-takes like you're funny guy you know loki what was your approach even when he was putting this project together I don't know man I just wanted to just just get getting more [ __ ] ready for God don't make mistakes which is gonna be my solo on Shady Records debut okay you know that's 2020 I don't make mistakes gotta make mistakes and you know I really was it's really all like one title look what I became God don't make mistakes I just wanted to get [ __ ] like a little appetizers and this is getting ready for that [ __ ] [ __ ] for like a main course man cuz honestly I've been you know I'm planning and like kind of take a break kind of fall back a little and so God don't make mistakes come out just like the what was Shane gonna do breathe and just ain't really trying to do nothing right now so I knew that already going in so I'm like I want to just get him saying just you know warm up get them ready for um cuz I know what God don't make mistakes is what kind of album that is you know I mean this is potentially one of the most impactful albums probably at a last deck two decades oh yeah what's off hop maybe going so much that way cuz like to me it's like before hip-hop couldn't conquer like the mainstream at a pop but now we dominate the mainstream we dominate the pop so is Griselda's like
