I've been playing Phantom Forces for years it's a solid FPS game with a lot to do crazy movement and the largest weapon variety you'll see in just about any FPS game out there but I've decided to start over just to see how quickly I can get from rank zero all the way to rank 100 but with a Twist I'm doing it on an Xbox so welcome I'm some Steven let's get right into part one this is going to be quite the journey by the way I know that a lot of people said that Ruby is doing the same kind of series however this has been done before by other channels like God status so it's not necessarily a new idea plus a few months ago I talked about it in my Xbox video I just feel like it'd be a fun idea to do this but like as a console perspective Anyway video time all right we're finally starting a new series on the channel it has been years since I've really sat down and made a dedicated series but we're doing it like I said in the intro we're going to be playing Phantom forces's console edition with a fresh start from Level zero in this series we're going to be going over and using all of the weapons that I unlock as I progress in levels and talk about their use case and what I think about them and just kind of enjoy the game for what it is if this is a series you'd like to see and you want to come along for the adventure as well make sure to subscribe and have notifications set to all so you don't miss a single episode with that said let's get right into this firstly I'll be using the first thing you see whenever you boot up Phantom Forces a stock ak-2 that's what you get and that's what I'll be using and for being the first ever you get in the game it's actually really nice with super good damage super low recoil it still holds up pretty well even though we're using a really good starter though I think the first 10 or maybe even five ranks are going to be the most difficult for me to get the main reason being that I'm not a big console guy at least not since the Black Ops 1 and Black Ops 2 days when I was a little kid it's been a while since and it's been a while since I've been good with a controller and because of that I'll be having to constantly fiddle with my sensitivity settings getting used to FPS games with controller again all before I can really get the ball rolling with some serious XP however it wasn't all too long before I unlocked rank one and with it I got the KSG it also wasn't all too long before I decided to try the MP5K another fantastic free weapon in the SMG category this time which actually let me shred pretty good for a while I didn't end up using it all too long though because I decided I got my first unlock I was going to try out the KSG you can't not try out the KSG G but honestly I'm not too huge a fan of it out of all my years of playing I've just kind of yet to find a sweet spot with attachments or range that I'm good with with the KSG it's pretty decent don't take what I'm saying as like your philosophy it's just not my personal pick for an early game weapon I took a step back though and I tried out the Colt lmg for a little bit it's also one of the free weapons you get when you first start the game and it really carried me kind of hard and quickly got me up to rank two getting me a new grenade and one of the best weapons in the entire game the M14 right away I knew I had my next hyper carry which only lasted a few seconds until the game ended and while I did almost get 30 kills for my first game I also got almost 30 deaths too not great but still a positive KD nonetheless unfortunately the second game was a tagr run Lobby and while it can be insane for XP grinding check out my video on tagr run after this by the way it's literally infinite XP but it didn't really work out too well for me on Console because I just kind of found myself I guess getting a lot of kills but just no XP at all really though the M14 was really putting in the work and I was slowly getting a little bit more used to how you play with controller if you haven't haven't tried it yet it's kind of like when you get a new mouse and you're learning like new grip positions and stuff except your mouse is glued to your two thumbs basically I especially found myself a lot of times just scrounging for the tiniest little scraps of XP with just like single tags just to try and make up for the like standard low XP that you get from kills and tag run but I got myself a little bit extra by unlocking my first attachment the Z point for the M14 it's not the best thing ever but it's just a really simple Red Dot and it works pretty well if you don't know attachments are a great way to get a nice handful of XP quickly if you're just new and trying to grind up levels I did end up getting a nice few kill chains here and there which got me up to level three and with that the MK1 my next weapon which I kind of completely forgot was an early game weapon it's actually really good with a ton of range damage and with the new recoil that it's gotten it makes it just feel like a much more fun thing to use however the main issue that I had with it is the fact that I was just kind of like finding myself pulling the trigger way faster than the weapon can actually shoot and it would just overall slow down my rate of fire by just me not being able to time it right it's not the weapons fault it's just my kind of need to learn that the main thing that you'll find with lower level weapons is that sometimes they can be a little bit clunky at at first but after you use them more and more the more overpowered you realize they kind of are that said I did find myself getting into the mindset of like when I was a little kid playing like Modern Warfare 3 just scraping the bottom of the XP barrel for every unlock one at a time I was actually feeling pretty accomplished as I was unlocking these weapons it's something that I think a lot of FPS games just kind of are missing these days one thing that I think I was really struggling with overall though was just the movement because on PC it's super easy to just move and flick your mouse to be able to get kills but on controller you're using your thumbs to try and do literally everything and it's just something that'll take a little bit of time for me to get used to again though I did kind of find out that PC players and console players on Phantom Forces are really not that different after all the proof being that I got killed by a level 27 with a BFG fantastic this being my second game though I've only gotten to level three and I did get the exact same number of kills as the game prior but I was able to get a few less deaths thank you Mr M14 very cool my goal for today though is just to get to level five you know I'm I'm just getting my foot in the door of the 100 levels that we're going to have to grind over the coming videos in this series so back to the old trusty M14 we go and of course I'm able to rack up as many kills as I can while trying to play with this and I really just kind of can't overstate just how powerful the M14 is for a level two unlock like no matter what rank you are this is a fantastic weapon on both fully auto and semi-auto it was kind of working for a bit but I found myself really not playing as well with it as I'd kind of hoped for after a little while I think I overestimated my abilities so after that round we switched to Desert Storm and I decided to use something that I haven't even talked about up until this point the intervention yet another free weapon that you get whenever you first start the game and honestly it's just endgame sniper it is completely amazing stock with high damage High multipliers and while it performs a little bit slower than I had remembered from using it on controller like months ago it's still a sniper it's still great and it actually worked a bit better than I thought it was going to for myself but my KD was really starting to suffer at this point I even started going like super negative for like half the game that is until I switched back to the mk11 and I made my first purchase with credits the ps01 scope and with it I ended up playing very well I got a ton of kills some really nice kill chains and I found that really slowing down my play style allowed me to kind of kind of get a little bit more used to the aiming and compensating for bullet drop with controller and such plus the new scope update made it just that much more fun to actually use this with its allame I ended up getting to level five pretty quick whenever I equipped it but I at least wanted to finish up the game and finish up the game I did with almost 50 kills and almost a 2kd really not too bad I can't really complain too much about that I kind of lost track of time however and I kept going I got into a Metro revamp match right at the start and I decided to use the UMP 45 that I had just unlocked whenever I hit rank five because what better map honestly it's made even better too by the fact that the UMP has some of the highest SMG damage in the entire game at 38 not including multipliers and such low recoil a stable but a little bit sluggish fire rate just overall kind of making it a great option for like a medium Speed play style on a smaller map like this one I went absolutely crazy with it and I had the best game yet on Console dropping almost 60 kills and getting over double the amount of kills as the top player on the enemy team and Landing myself almost a 2.5 KD ratio and with all those kills and all the attachments that I had unlocked on the UMP while playing with it I easily got enough XP to climb to well over rank six I kept going a little bit longer though I kind of figured that I was close enough to rank seven I may as well just push and get that real quick to get it out of the way so I slept in all the attachments that I had just unlocked on the UMP and while I didn't perform as well as before I did hit rank seven really quick and I ended up unlocking the G36C little did I know as I continued playing with the UMP I had also unlocked the g36k back at rank six already I'm overwhelmed with so many choices and play style options but not entirely a bad overwhelmed both of those are weapons that we're going to be in the next episode though so stay tuned for that I'm excited to try them out for my first time coming back to and really trying console FPS games I had a lot of fun with this and I really like the feeling of unlocking stuff again I'm really excited for the series and I'm excited to see just how good I can actually get over time by the time that I reach rank 100 in God knows how many videos and if you want to follow along make sure to subscribe with notifications on you can also become a channel
