Rangers boss Steven Gerrard 'loved everything' about Arsenal's Europa League win over Slavia Prague

michael arteta has praised the powerful image created by his players after they took a knee before last night's europa league quarter-final against slavia prague captain on the night alexandre lacazette knelt in front of the slavia prague players who were all standing before kickoff it comes just days after andre cordello was banned for 10 games for racially abusing the rangers player glenn kamara as i said yesterday they came to me and they showed that initiative that they went to made a statement that they believe it was for the right reasons and we had the opportunity to send a message and i fully supported it i spoke to the club the club was really supportive and and they did it and i'm really happy as well that uh you often supported with with the referees as well taking that action it was obviously a very powerful image alex lacazette kneeling right in front of the opposition was that pre-planned from him or or you know i don't know ask him what he wanted to do but um i don't know they just wanted to do that i think it's a really strong and powerful image and in an important game which already made it [Music] publicly even more noticeable well as we mentioned slavia prague's andre kudala who was banned for racially abusing rangers glenn kamara during their europa league game at ibrox last month stephen gerrard praised arsenal's actions i admired how they approached before the game during the game and after the game i'm sure glenn did as well um but i was really proud watching arsenal's performance last night everything about it um i thought the way they prepared for the game the way the manager spoke the way the players behaved before june and after and then to back it up with that level of performance um i sat there and really enjoyed that game i thought it was a sensational performance well kamara was also banned for three games by uefa for an altercation at full time in the game against slavia prague and gerard says the midfielder now just wants to focus on playing football glenn's handled the whole situation really well professional um and typical of him really you know he's really calm he's really measured um he's a clever kid very mature for for someone his age and he's been through a lot but what he has had he's had a real strong support from all of us here at rangers um from everyone at the club the supporters and you guys as well and everyone around the game um and he's he's gone about his business very well very professional and he's fine he's looking forward to the game the weekend he's prepared really well and i've had numerous chats with glenn and the main thing that's coming from him is i just want to play football um and that's what he loves doing and then we'll support him and continue to support him in any way we can you
