see this is what this is the problem with track and field look NFL player NFL player NBA player NBA player MLB player for these people who is that we need professional runners for the running magazines what is going on everybody Welcome Back today's video I will be competing in the Monmouth mile in New Jersey it'll be I'll be competing with Eric and then hasm will be the Pacesetter it's supposed to be set up pretty quick I think he's going through 154 one through 55 through 800 and then um has him's plans on to go to the 4K goal of this race is just to put myself out there and give myself you know a chance and post the goal is just to be right behind Eric and see what I can do Eric's going to be going for you know low 350s in the mile let's get it I gotta get the suit for the Vlog what's up let's see let's do a little 360 here I gotta see the USA on the back oh you got it oh let's go the people's champ the podium jacket too The Knack act Champion Eric Cole he's back at it we're ready to go win the Monmouth mile baby he's a champion uh three years ago and I gotta retain that title yes sir how you feeling for today's race or tomorrow's race Mars race we'll see how I feel tomorrow but I'm confident I can win I'm confident I can PR uh I think even on a bad day sub 355 is inevitable so you know I'm just gonna stay on has them relax at third lap and crush the last lap fast lap it's gonna be my fastest and you know this guy behind the camera has got to run the pr as well so this is the last big big track race for uh Empire and I have feelings going to go pretty well oh yeah [Music] what do you think about this track so far um you know it's that Wendy it's windy it's eight Lane it's interesting uh this is obviously not a great you know football field but it's deceptive combined between you know a recreational track a decent you know track but you know lazy fast times tomorrow hopefully just not windy yeah all right we're here with the Under Armor boys um we're here with Adam and John how we doing well yeah looking forward to tomorrow uh it's my last one of the Season John's got a road race on Last Mile this season nice Under Armor Road Race back in Baltimore on Saturday but sweet excited to be here in New Jersey yeah good any goals for tomorrow or just race or um well the pace is meant to be pretty hot I think Eric has asked for 154 or 155 so hopefully um yeah kind of sit maybe a little bit back from that feel good through hopefully the bell and uh try and run quick try and be right off there um I'd love to run something quick my PB indoor is 356.6 so if I can take a chunk off that I'll be pretty happy yeah just kind of reiterate I guess probably hang back from the 154 through eight and uh really just work that third lap and come on hot that's the plan just just race we're excited we're fit we've been working hard the past couple months so yeah and the season on a good note and then right off into the sunset great let's do it nice very cute thanks Josh well I think I hope um [Music] foreign [Music] we got we got a good squad though yeah what do you uh expecting for tomorrow anything I just wanted to test yeah fast a lot of people here hopefully weather is like it is right now and uh yeah we'll be good to go it was probably like the most stressful thing of putting on the meat a stressful thing I don't know maybe we'll check in after the event's over yeah one more day to go for sure yeah it's probably probably getting the deals together stuff okay scratch the women's field scratch one Shield unfortunately yeah so trying to just like get people out it takes a lot of uh a lot of work a lot of funds yeah stuff like that so but yeah the people want to know when are you coming back out for this people steeple's done 1325k okay we'll be ready later that same evening what the is this dude repeat that oh my God viewers see this is what this is the problem with track and field look NFL player NFL player NBA player NBA player MLB player for these people who is that we need professional runners for the running magazines uh you'd love to see it who's in a quiet man what's going on everybody doing another race reaction to this video um 2022 Monmouth mile going straight the plan was obviously like I said in the video sit behind Eric as long as I can and see what I can do the last two laps or so so as you see me here I'm getting right in good position uh Paul Ryan right behind me Eric up front and has him leading the race and I felt confident I felt confident I could you know run a fast time go into this race so I just told myself you know we I talked to Coach Troutman just to give myself a shot and whether I blow up and have a bad race or I have a good race I just need to put myself in a good position a lot of my races this year I didn't have the best positioning which kind of hurt me in a few of my races but I noticed when I'm in up in front up within the pack I can race better I feel like I said that in a few other videos as well but um there has been a race a few races where I had put myself in front and I have kind of blown up towards them but I think I just need to get used to running in the front pack so as you see here I kind of lose position a little bit Paul Ryan and um Adam fog is coming up on me here so I mean that's fine I'm still close within you know the leaders here you're here it's better to be in this position rather than you know down down the line of the pack and having to make up ground I'd rather be in the mix and if I die if I die off that's fine but at least I gave myself a shot and I need to do this more and kind of get callous to running at this kind of fast pace and Mickey moves rather than sitting back so the more I do this I feel like the stronger I can get so going into next year I have um a little bit more confidence knowing that I can run within the pack seat because I'm I think this is uh two laps ago I kind of lost track here but I know I could at least stay Within the top pack within three or three laps in two two and a half to three laps in so um I just need to tell myself I can compete with the best and stick with them for at least 1200 meters of the race so actually here is having steps off so we're about a thousand meters in and um we're coming up on a lap to go and I'm not I'm starting to fade a little bit here in this last lap we got Eric Holt um Paul Ryan vinciotti Adam fog and then me so I mean I'm in decent position but I definitely can feel the fatigue whether that's just from this race going at a faster Pace or just this whole season I've been running since June of 2021 so I've always been competing and um I haven't been competing since June but I've that's when I started training again and I hadn't really took a break so it's been a long season but that's definitely not an excuse here I am I'm still getting kind of used to this probe Semi-Pro life of kind of competing all the way to September rather and like compared to college where I finished a season in June or May but as we see here Adam fog kind of gets a solid gap on me and you can see the leaders here Paul Ryan they're called Valencia they're coming in strong I didn't feel strong enough I could I really felt myself start to fade here I'm not really sure what my last laugh but I'm guessing it was um higher than a 60 probably 62 63 maybe at worst but um coming here I end up running 401 which was okay I started the season with the 401 and um which was in uh January or February of the indoor season and I ended it out the season with the 401 so at least it was kind of consistent overall I give this race like a B minus hope you guys enjoyed my little race reaction and uh let's get back to the video peace and if I beat him I would have got 500 dollars how are we feeling you would have got this 250. Eric lost 250 today I believe all right Eric on the way home how are you feeling about what 11 40. uh about the time racing oh about what just like how's your emotions right now after the race late night oh my God super happy obviously you know I wanted to run a little quicker and you know you know getting beat got by guys like uh Paul Ryan ciardi you know it's it's humbling and you know it just shows me still the amount of work and the amount of effort I have to put in to make the improvements to get where I want to be [Music] you know I'm hungry and it was a humbling experience even though I led the race and ran the way in which I'm not usually accustomed to I'm always the kicker so you know I felt like it just wasn't the best way for me to run it but I felt like if I didn't do that we wouldn't have ran as quick so you know it's uh it was a good day it was fun I'm enjoying it you know PR is a PR I pr in the mile but you know I'm hungry for the future and I I need to get better and I will get better so I'm I'm positive yeah to be you know Elite racer you gotta win in different ways right true you know and you know uh I I just I just realized you know it's tough man it's you know the the everyone's getting a lot better and you know there's much improvement that needs to be done but that's why we do the sport you know it's fun to improve it's fun to have PR's and yeah it's always like man it's like you know every every time I have a little momentum I get experience like today which is pretty humbling but uh I'm excited for the future how would you rate today's race uh you know this was a great race great venue I give myself a 7 out of ten okay you know there's definitely things I could have done better but definitely a decent race you know a big PR well a second PR I'm excited man uh I'm excited efficiency season strong PR in the the 800 holy Farm you guys are coming up and then finish strong at Fifth Ave I want to get uh I I put my goal there at top five so yeah pretty stacked field so absolutely should be a fun race yep
