Race Shop Build: 2021 Honda CRF110

[Music] hey guys it's ping with vitalmx and we're out here at the blackmore ranch today fortunate enough to be able to come out here and use this facility to go through a new a project bike that we've built or don from rocket exhaust is built we're going to let him tell you all about it this is a a special project to me because this bike is actually mine i bought this thing and i sold my wife on it by saying that it was going to be for my daughters to write which it is i just wanted to build uh build it in a way that i could also go out and have some fun on so it's really dual purpose and i know a lot of you guys maybe want to buy one of these but the wife's not really digging it and i'm telling you this is how you sell it it's for the kids man this is all for the kids so this is perfect for my two daughters they're going to have a blast on this thing but don't get it twisted daddy's going to be ripping it too so i'm stoked on the way this thing came out dawn here at rocket exhaust sort of led this build he's been really involved in building these new honda 110s in particular because his son michael has been racing them and so they've really pushed the limits of development and really try to get performance out of it i didn't want all of that but i wanted some of the chassis stuff and and sort of that dual purpose feel to it so i'm gonna throw it to you don take us through this thing from suspension to chassis to motor all the things that you put on this to make it look and run the way it does walk us through just to reiterate a little bit about sort of how this came about my son michael michael lead we decided we were going to go racing these things and i was going to develop a line of what we call our chubbies we figured we'd start out in the stock class and build a bike that he could jump as far as you want and not break it in half so that was our first focus we really wanted to concentrate on the suspension and we did so many years of super costs and outdoor racing with lanier suspension he said he could build us a shock and dwayne at bbr got us the fork parts and then we fiddled and fiddled and we've got a really good platform like ping said he can literally at 180 pounds jump 70. sorry and flatland stuff and not kill himself and that really was the goal motor wise we developed this in conjunction with mostly cjr performance stock engine never even took the valve cover off sock glass legal at least in some of the race series that we were doing intake manifold a throttle body mod to the air box and mapping it's done it's about a 300 350 dollar deal to make this bike have three more horsepower you have to add the rocket exhaust in as well it's adult-friendly it's kid-friendly yeah we're just stoked on the way this comes out i've built a number of them for friends of mine and they all have the same result it's just smiles ear to ear i need to mention the wheels because they're really cool they're relatively in a you know they're affordable they're inexpensive they're bbr rims bbr spoke kit and we had john anderson at w put them together and they are bulletproof and we know that because we've been riding them and they are really that's an important thing to do on these bikes when you get these adults on them the stock wheels they're not going to last you know also want to thank dave analock at ufo plastics he's always involved with everything that we do he's awesome teddy at kinetic of course cameron at cjrr performance packs racing sprockets wheel spacers just a little more on the exhaust systems this is for the stock 110cc kit and uh king tested today what we call our backyard quiet court insert because they're going to be riding the bike around the neighborhood and the girls are going to be riding it being noticed obviously a lot less sound didn't really hurt the power that much obviously it's going to a little bit but that's a really cool feature for this stock pipe also very interesting been working with cameron at cgr performance on a big bore only system bigger tube bigger mid pipe bigger inlet bigger core and he just finished his testing and we're in production and we're going to have those available here by the middle of july you can go to rocket exhaust.com and check them out so if you guys are building big bores it comes with a no two bung you can do your own mapping you can you can use uh cameron to do your mapping for you but uh special product we're just really honed in on this pit bike stuff and having a ton of fun doing it so i got to ride this thing a bit today and and on the track that he's got out here which is a sort of a beginner level motocross track uh there's a little road course out here there's some mountain bike jumps so i was just kind of farting around having a good time and i'm telling you don we nailed this thing exactly what i was after i didn't want something that was so modified that i'm gonna worry about you know having to service it or you know can't run it too many hours or i was worried about sound because sometimes we ride in in neighborhood areas where you don't want to make a bunch of noise so that insert in the back was money but the main thing is the chassis is built it's bulletproof i can in fact out here i cased a huge double huge for me and i mean i didn't even i just right into it and i thought oh man i'm gonna break this bike in half and it just took it no problem totally solid so that's exactly what i wanted i don't need a massive motor it's everything internally is pretty much stock it's just you know as don mentioned those those modifications that they did that do help the performance without affecting reliability at all it's exactly what i was after and it's super comfortable the taller seat here the motor seat guys crushed it uh not just the cover but a taller seat the pegs the ims pegs make it really a comfortable platform and the odi bars which is a little bit of a rise but not super tall to where my kids would feel uncomfortable this is perfect for them and it's it's just enough and out of the way for me where i can ride it and have a good time so it's it's the perfect level of performance that i want my kids are going to have a ball on it it's not so loud it's going to scare them or piss my neighbors off it's perfect so exactly what i was after and i really just want to thank all the all the people involved don especially to you he he put a lot of hours into putting this thing together and he had a ton of hours with jamie at twisted and all these guys that were part of this developing each of those parts and making them making sure they worked right and there's a lot of just making it work you know things don't exactly fit the way you would like them to sometimes so you have to just sort of wing it and he really put it together perfectly got a skid plate in case i smash into stuff i mean everything that i'm after it's got so again big thank you to all these companies liner man we'll list them all but ims packs bbr the stuff that they make i mean they're the sort of the standard for mini bike stuff odi i love these grips and bars they're perfect we got the ufo plastic midas tires that's something that we didn't talk about much but it's our first time on these and we loved them they were great super good tires so if you're into looking for mini bike stuff consider those guys skda graphics uh we got the kinetic mx guys just a lot of really cool companies that pitched in parts uh the mika chain we appreciate all that stuff and particularly rocket
