welcome to our slash out on work tear lady where we share stories about folks that go into other businesses and have irate customers mistake them for employees and the first story is I cannot fire guests this happened a couple of years ago and I think below is a good remembrance of the event there probably was more cursing from the lady in question which wasn't appropriate in a family restaurant let alone in front of her kids there's a chain restaurant located next to a strip mall less than five minutes away from where I work I'm often in there either by myself or with colleagues and I've had a few I don't work here moments it's usually been from folks wanting to compliment either the food or the server's I think it comes from me being dressed in business casual and usually having a quick chat to some of the servers in the dining area as I head to the bar area I'll tell them politely I'm not a manager here but he or she is and send them off in the right direction this particular day I had called in to work on a day off and decided to stop for lunch I was in jeans in a dark blue polo shirt I spoke briefly to one of the servers and slipped into a stool at the bar the bar area was pretty quiet so my beer and food order was taken in a matter of moments as usual I got the lunchtime special unlimited soup and salad with an entree and being a regular there was no need to consult the menu my order placed and a tall glass of suds in under a minute the soup and salad station is located to the rear of the restaurant and you have to walk through the restaurant area to get there at lunch time there's normally only one section of the dining area open so the easiest path is through the unused one as it's empty I do what I normally do head down and get my salad and then go back for the soup I didn't hear anything as I went down to the salad bar but I remember hearing and excuse me as I was returning with my bowl I set that down and head back for my soup again I hear and excuse me but I'm not thinking it's addressed at me I get my soup and bread and head back to the bar I see ahead of me a woman rise up from a table that's in a third section I think it's only used when they're really busy or need seating for larger parties and step out into my path I moved to one side thinking she's on her way to the salad bar but she's checking my every move as if she's going in for a tackle I'm within a few steps of her she's got a face like she's been chewing a bunch of bees what the heck is your problem she spits at me I'm confused it's my turn to say excuse me I've been trying to get your attention for over ten effing minutes now would have been pretty hard since I probably been there less than five what I say out of confusion I know you're ignoring me on purpose I know your problem you see a single mom with two kids and don't want to bother because you'll get no tip I try to utter those famous words but she's on a roll I've been here for over ten minutes and none of you effing lazy a monkeys have even come over and given us silverware or even offered us drinks and you you effing ignored me on effing purpose and don't say you didn't hear me because I saw you turn your head away from me as she's taking in more air I say it look I don't work here and she's back don't give me that BS you just decided to put on the uniform and serve people food I'm gonna have your effing job for this who's in charge around here at that moment the duty manager appears and addressing me by name asks what the problem is and before I can speak she's off again wearing a fake Sh eating grin well you don't work here yet your bonus knows your name she turns to the manager this jerk-off here has treated me like Sh he's been rude and ignored me over a dozen times thanks because I'm a single mom I'm not worth his time probably the same as the restaurant of your monkeys I'm a paying customer of your effing joke of a restaurant and your staff have left me and my kids sitting without even a hi you need to fire that jerk there and I expect that you better take care of me and my kids I'm not paying for anything after the way I've been treated I want both of your names as well as I'm gonna make sure that your big bosses know what's going on here and if you don't fire that a-hole right now I'm gonna make sure that they do and they'll probably fire your sorry eh - okay ma'am says the manager here's my card and hands her his business card she looks to me your name she says in a way that the a-hole is silent she doesn't have a pen but the manager hands her one of course she asks me to spell it out savoring each letter I have to do my job here ma'am and I need to establish facts and could you please watch the color of your language let's start at where you're sitting she points back to one of the large tables where two kids around 8 to 10 are sitting we haven't even been given drinks or silverware yet and we've he cuts her off if I'm to sort this out I need to speak to the person who sat you and find out why you weren't assigned to serve her what you need to be doing she says in a singsong voice he's firing this jerk ma'am please work on this with me I'm trying to establish facts for your complaint bs I know effing well what you're doing you're trying to save your a and probably his too I want to see this a-hole fired in front of everyone here so you can't please ma'am could you stop using profanity there are families in here says the manager I noticed that the regular noise of the restaurant is not at its usual level I look over to the actual dining area and we certainly have most of its attention she points at me and starts to speak are you going to the manager holds up a hand ma'am please understand this one thing I cannot fire guests this just peeved her off even more what kind of SH are you trying to pull here this prick is wearing your restaurants uniform and running around with food in his hands is this what you the manager has had enough ma'am ma'am please stop stop ma'am will you please take a good look at the gentleman she looks at me the manager goes on he's wearing a blue shirt and jeans our uniform is black shirt with our logo and black pants and you'll also notice he's not wearing an apron which all of our servers wear while on duty and if you take a good look down to the end of the restaurant you will see where the self-serve bar is that is why this gentleman is carrying what is probably now cold soup she's staring at me looking me up and down and then looking around probably trying to see if what she's hearing is true there's a lot I can and can't do to and for our guests and as I said it's not in my power to fire them I can make them leave if they're disrupting other guests or staff or causing problems for the restaurant you fall into the ladder I think she's about to speak again but the manager gets in first I can also call the police to assist me so may I suggest that you gather up your kids and leave if you do wish to take this further the website address is on my card and you will find all of our corporate contact information the exit is this way I wait until they are out of my path and return to the bar and I get a few questions on what happened I answered them the same way she thought I worked there the manager came to see me once he had seen her drive out of their lot and apologized for not being there sooner I was in the cooler and didn't get the code Karen over the radio he said he'd have to write a report about the incident and asked if I would give my contact details which I did I did tell him that there was no need to do that on my account but he said it was policy to do so the lady did contact corporate as I phone call from some lady asking to give my version of events although I have no idea what tales she told them or even if they took any action against her the restaurant sent in the report along with CCTV that recorded the incident and about two weeks later I get a letter from corporate thanking me for my cooperation and a $50 gift card the next story is a bit of I don't work here and Pro revenge maybe so let's start this off by explaining what I do for work first of all I work for a school district doing IT given the nature of how the job works I can be doing anything from running wires to cutting metal and all sorts of different types of work when I'm doing things it would be a bit more dirty I will wear normal clothes this is not too different from what I would normally wear - a t-shirt instead of a golf type shirt so I'm at Home Depot wearing a pair of tan cargo pants hiking shoes and a red t-shirt that says coca-cola on the front as well as my old beat-up hat and a pair of sunglasses on my hat cos I was inside so I'm looking around for some things to do a job in the afternoon and an old lady asked me for help I gladly helped her get something off of a higher shelf as well as answered a few questions for her because I just knew more about construction than she did obviously really she just wanted to know some best ways to mount some pictures that were a bit more heavy so I directed urges improper mounting materials and explained the best way to mount the hangers nothing special so I walked down the aisle because I needed to be in the hardware aisle anyway looking for some stuff as I'm crouched down I have some other things in my hands and I'm taking things out and putting them back as I look for the proper hardware it's not like what I'm doing has any sort of a set way of doing it so I'm just trying to go off the fly figuring out what would work best for what I want to accomplish another lady walks up and right off the bat really rudely starts demanding that I help her keep in mind I in no way look like I work at Home Depot me equals me EB equals the rude lady mg equals manager rude lady it's about time I found someone ah I need help I ignore since it clearly doesn't sound like she's talking to me rude lady grabs my shoulder and pulls me back as I am crouched down causing me to fall back me what the f lady rude lady that's no way to talk to a customer I should report you to your manager for ignoring me and swearing at me me I would be great if I worked here go away rude lady you obviously work here go get a ladder and me no thanks I'm good rude lady I'm going to get me loud enough for those around it here no I will not go to your car to make out with you I'm not even all that angry annoyed maybe but I get joy in making people like this uncomfortable rude lady stammering I didn't that's not manager sees the commotion and walks up she starts screaming at how unprofessional I am and so forth I know the manager we've bought each other drinks at the local VFW he knows I don't work there rude lady he helped this old bee and now won't help me I just manage your cuts are off manager ma'am you are hereby banned from this store leave now or you'll be escorted by force by an officer rude lady refused to leave and as promised is booted from the store by cops fast forward to yesterday hence this post now again I work in a school district all subs must come to me to get a temp Kiev OB to get in and out of the building and she walks into my office she immediately goes off screaming at me I seriously don't even recognize her at first then it hits me I put on a nice big grin and I act all nicely to her I let her know that I have to call the office to confirm her placement the office ears are screaming over the phone and I quietly and quickly explain two minutes later the resource officer rolls up sees what's going on and escorts are off the property she's been removed from the list that's pulled from so she can no longer sub in our district after going into more detail of the situation with my boss and superintendent he also plans on calling a few other districts to warn them I'm sure it's for the best she couldn't be all that mentally stable if you like the stories don't forget to subscribe and push the bell icon have a nice day [Music]
