hi there today we're making these quick wire earrings using the savoy not as detail and if you're new click that subscribe button for more tutorials like this one now let's get nothing these earrings are both quick and easy to make with the added advantage that you can use any size of bead that you want so the materials you need a one millimeter diameter copper wire which is 18 gauge each tube it's minor 8 millimeters an optional extra of two copper beads and your earring findings and the tools you need the two pairs of chain nose or flat nose pliers round nose pliers and your wire cutters to make the knots you need a piece of the one millimeter or 18 gauge wire for each earring you can use off cuts from other projects for this and making the knots is a little easier with softer wire so you can anneal it if necessary but I'd recommend a length of not less than 10 centimeters or 4 inches and it's easier to make the knot with longer pieces of wire I've got 10 centimeters here just to show you how that will work so we'll take one of the pieces of wire and I want the knot to be low down on that piece of wire so holding it at one end I'm going to start bending bout an inch from the end take the wire right over the top to make a pea shape I then want to carefully Bend that wire back and underneath that wire tail and then I'll carefully bend the wire again and put that working in through the loop I first made now I just need to tighten the knot so I'm going to use my chain nose and flat nose pliers to hold each end of the wire and pull you will need to pull fairly hard and that tightens up the knot for the second earring I want the knot to mirror that first so I'm going to start bending the wire in the same way as before I make the P shape but this time I'm taking the wire under that wire tail then when I bend the wire back and bringing it over the top and finally I'm threading through that loop from the back then I just need to use my chain nose and flat nose pliers to pull the knot tight again and now if we compare it with that first knot you can see you've got a mirror image at this stage check that they're the same size and tighten up the larger knot if necessary and so we've got our two knots the same size now incidentally if you can't work out how to make that second not to make it mirror just leave a little bit more tail on the bottom of the wire and make the knot as before and you'll see if I flip one of those knots over then they're the same so you can just make the two knots in exactly the same way and then turn them until you find that mirror image and that's all it takes to make the knots for the earrings we now need to sort out the tails of the wire on the knot at the bottom I want the wire to be coming in front of the loop and it can carry on its path diagonally to the side for the top wire I want that to be straight up so that the knot will sit straight under the bead so I'll just use my chain nose pliers to bend that gently so it's vertical and I'll do exactly the same with the other wire with tying the knot that top wire is got a little bit kinked up so I'll just use my pliers to straighten up the wire and then I can thread on my bead and just make sure that not sitting nicely under the bead I'll then create a loop to hang this from so I'll trim that wire bend it forward where it's coming out of the bead and make a loop with my round nose pliers and then with the bottom wire I'm gonna bend that around to the loop towards the back and then trim it and use your round nose pliers and flat nose pliers just to get that end looped around the wire and incidentally if you want another idea if using this not check out my bracelet tutorial I'll link that in a card above and I'll just make sure that wires where I want it and we've basically created a fancy head pin with that knot we'll do the same for the other knot and we could just attach these onto some earring findings but I'm going to make them a little bit longer by adding another link I've got some little copper bicone beads here and I can use the offcuts from the wire that I made the knot with they're just long enough so I'll make a loop in one end with my round nose pliers kink it back add that copper bead trim the wire bend it where it's coming out of the bead you can use your flat nose pliers for this rather than your nails and then create another loop with your round nose pliers and I've got a little copper bead link I'll then open one of those loops have my Naughton bead and then add my earring finding to the other end and I'll do exactly the same for the other knot and that completes the earrings if you like these earrings I know you'll love my tutorial using the Savoy knot in a bracelet and you can check that out here and don't forget to subscribe to my channel and head over to my website for more hints tips and projects thanks for watching and I'll see you see
