that's a great question okay the question is if you repent for sin from what you can tell you're really sorry for it next thing you know you've done it again you repent again next thing you know you've done it again let's say you start to say after you know after a certain period time you say it's going to forgive me for this one I mean this is the seventh time this year or whatever is he going to forgive me now the short answer is yes and here's why he forgives you he forgives you on the basis of his perfection and is the perfection of what his son did not on the basis for how much progress you're making how fast your progress is just how deeply repenting so if well see if you--if you repented deeply the first time and probably nobody almost nobody does it you wouldn't do it again the reason that you are continuing to do it is repentance is sort of stemming the tide a little bit but it's not all that deep but almost never is our repentance deep enough God couldn't forgive on the basis of the the purity of the repentance it gives it on the base of the purity of Jesus work not on the basis of the period of your work therefore the short answer is if your repentance is partial I mean there is such a thing as a completely in sincere repentance but if your if your repentance which one I can tell is sort of partial it's spotty it's oh it's there but it's you know you haven't really gotten down to the guts of it yeah he's going to forgive you because actually you're nothing forgiven on the basis of the you know the purity of your repentance however now I think what you're really concerned with hopefully is is the not whether or not you've lost your relationship with God but what am I doing wrong in my repentance that's what should you worry about you shouldn't say this is the seventh time this year is this is this it is there a limit up there just God keep a record no but I think what he's really what you ought to be really concerned about is what am I doing wrong and generally speaking it means and without getting into it I do wanna keep the answers short generally speaking when I repent for something and I don't change usually it means I'm kind of repenting for the superficial behavior but there's some attitude leading to it that I'm not getting at I mean the example I use in which I can't I have to think of a better one but it comes to my mind quick in situations like this is that that if I if I fit if I tell a lie if I fudged the truth it's always it's never I don't never fights the truth in order to kind of get out from under responsibility I fudged the truth I feel like somebody's gonna be unhappy with me and I think what I try to do here today is I have to say there's a superficial on the surface the behavior that seems to be wrong as the why but the lie is coming from an idol the idol is people's approval and I see if I only say I'm sorry I lied but I don't really deal with the fact that I am controlled by what people think of me I'm never going to get over the line so I got to get underneath and I got to figure out I got to get to the far idol not the near one that's what I was trying to say today so what you really should be concerned about is not that God's going to throw me away I mean because because I mean you know if you didn't he didn't earn your salvation and start with how can you how you going to utter in it you know but um
