Pure Sodium Metal Cut in Half W/ A 60,000 PSI Waterjet - Explosive - Cody's Lab

way back in the year I believe it was named nose 2017 yeah 2017 is it was way long ago somebody in the comments suggested that we put some sodium in our tank or we cut some sodium with the waterjet is that what you've brought us yeah I got ya probably wouldn't want to cut something this big let's let's trim it down with my massive knife here if I were to just grab this from you and throw it into that tank like I would run a piece like this would be like it stick of dynamite going on we're gonna I like where this is going small piece so that if it does explode it's not gonna damage anything and what is that that you store it in that's a mineral oil yeah as long as it doesn't get confined as the water doesn't go over top of anything it should just so your prediction is when we cut through this that it's just gonna my prediction is it'll go along fine and then it'll melt okay well let us strap it down do not draw this safety link I've done it I wouldn't recommend it I mean no I really want to see him do it it's a little tangy yep so tangy kind of like looking at 9-volt battery reacts with water it forms caustic soda does all the stuff at to make soap so like the cell walls your flesh turns into soap so like there's a hole being born and burrowed into my tire a little bit there it's it'll dilute away probably only kill a few sales it's fine it still feels a little tingly [Music] yeah are we standing close enough okay we ready you weren't kidding holy cow if you can find it and the hydrogen has nowhere to go and it actually generates an electrical Coulomb explosion that causes the whole thing to react all at once it's actually the same strength as TNT for the same amount of mass you just about killed us you should have told me that before this is a lot wider and thicker than the other one and I think you guys are gonna try to cut it how about like that so it's a little bit longer would you recommend this uh I I still don't think this will explode I don't want to explode while you're cutting it actually having it underneath that metal kind of makes me nervous because that's I could confine it yeah so just kind of looks a little pinch it and then cut it further out there yeah that's probably a good idea okay [Music] [Laughter] [Laughter] yeah I got it so that was all done with like just ounces of sodium yeah I didn't want to do too much because I didn't want to damage your machine and how much sodium do you have look I've got about four more pounds of it fun first safety second that's how you remember usually I'm the unsafe guy didn't do enough that it would have really hurt us it might have blinded us cuz a lot of you guys weren't wearing safety glasses but Mitchell had a safety squint so I saw that we're doing this our own risk I don't recommend doing anything don't try to copy us we know better but we're just too stupid and that's why you need to go to Cody's Channel because let him risk his life instead of you [Music]
