hello hello here we have a PS5 that came in for repair I have officially became the source where people mail stuff over when they mess up officially how many ps5s do I fix a week it used to be the maybe two out of ten they were tempered with or they have damage from a prior repair attempt but now it has become probably eight out of ten every Xbox or every PlayStation that we got in the person attempted to replace the connector they damaged it and the console ends up in the shop here so it's official congratulations let's take a look at what the customer did or the person who worked on it we do not know if the customer is the one who attempted the repair it looks like it but you'll be surprised how many shops will actually do the same how many missing pads do we have they attempted to solder a wire from here to here this one is lose this one actually what the the whole connector is loose nice nice save myself the work so we have I would say maybe like seven eight missing pads and we may have five six loose pads that are ready to just break off and we can tell that we have MSN capacitor we have the three components here flip the board and we have a missing diode right here we should be able to fix it right now we have a missing capacitor that should solder on right here and we're going to connect the best strip from here to here from here to here you see this one here is connecting with the ground this one is connecting with the ground this one ground ground so the ones that we really care about are this this this one this one and this one and then maybe will be nice today and connect this one also it's not needed let's grab how many one two three four let's grab four strips let's pre-apply solder onto those traces we're gonna have to apply solder on all the pads anyway because we're gonna Reflow down the connector so let's do it before we solder a new connector or Reflow a new connector we're gonna have to fix the capacitor we have a missing capacitor that we need to replace so we do that first if you do it afterwards then you are creating more work for yourself and did I miss something what are the four pet strips that I put on here I was not looking at them when soldering the pins it looks like I may have touched right there right here that's why the person looking at this from the outside can see more than the person working on the board like a soccer game you're looking at the soccer game on your TV and you start to shout no go left go right pass it to that guy pass it to this guy but the person who's on the field playing does not see it it doesn't mean that the person who's playing is bad but his inside you can see more when you're on the outside let's start with this one here I do not know how many fuel watch soccer one pat down and six million more to go we'll get there just have to be patient and let's grab one more strip what I want to do is leave an extension of the strip going down so we can apply UV mask to it and secure it I do not want to cut it short so we're going to leave it like this but of course I do not want the strip to touch the exposed ground that you see here so we're gonna have to mask it will do this last but right now we need one more strip and maybe we'll do this one also we'll connect it to ground that way we do all the pads and save the world from complaints actually we have two missing grounds we have one missing ground here and we have one missing ground here I thought we only had one missing ground but we have two and as you all know our green UV mask is back in stock and whatever tools are being used for this repair can all be purchased directly from our eCommerce site just log in to northridgefix.com click on shop and I'm saying this to all new viewers of the channel because all viewers you already know and a lot of you already purchased a lot of the tools that we use here we're going to spread the UV mask because the thicker the UV mask the longer it takes to harden so we should be good right anything under here no why don't we move those pads up like this I do not want them to get stuck to the mask and now we're going to use our amazing UV lamp which you can also purchase of our site I'll put it on top and some UV light for you for those who love UV light you can pause on that frame so you can get a good suntan being exposed to UV light the lamp will shut off by itself we just have to wait 15-20 seconds and then we're going to expose the board to a little bit of hot air so now let's adjust the pads make everything nice and straight all right and again we're going to use our UV lamp UV light is on you can tell the bluish light the lamp is over the board we still have some alcohol on the board so whatever you see bubbling it's just isopropyl and now with my multimeter I'm gonna go over the pins make sure no two pins are touching from here to here from here to here to here and we're good now we're gonna solder the missing PS5 cap and you can purchase those caps off our site as well just search PS5 capacitor they are sold in packs of 10. one strip because you cannot cut just one very difficult so as you can see I've already used two and now we're gonna grab this one and a nice trick to grab that capacitor since it's too small and your tweezer will not be able to grab it just point your tweezer just put some flux on the tip of your tweezer and stick it that's it so you do not end up going all over the place the brain is a very nice tool if you know how to use it not that you do not but just a reminder I remind you and I remind myself be right there right and the cat is soldered just a minute what's going on can you fix it fix what the back we're gonna grab a connector from here all right so I just put a new PS5 connector we did not solder it yet the connector is not making a connection yet but we're gonna align it Focus and we're gonna press and hold right but pressing and holding alone is not enough we need to apply hot air and I have my hot air station at Max 500 Degrees and it's not about what's the heat on your hot air station it's about where you are pointing the nozzle one to pull one to apply how far you are from the connector and this all comes with practice because I always get the question what's the temperature on your hot air station it doesn't matter but it cannot be too low we can tell that solder liquefied and let's go press and hold for maybe 5-10 seconds [Music] and we're gonna check to see if the pins made the connection if not then we're gonna do it again we can tell that every pin on the connector is properly aligning with the pad or pad strip that we soldered so let me grab our Precision needle very easy to work with and that pad should move with the pad straight and look it's making a connection it's not moving freely all right number two is soldered number three the pen is not moving freely that's good number four wow solid solid and the pin is moving along with the pad strip you can tell I do not want to force it and very good connection very good connection solid solid solid solid and let's see this one solid solid solid I mean even though we solder the connector on some patchwives but look at this you cannot even move the PIN then we're gonna do this and we're gonna do this every single pin is making a very solid connection and we did an amazing job all we have to do is solder the back the legs and we should be all good we also restored that missing capacitor that you see now let's fill the board and I know that we have a missing diode on the back but we're gonna fix it how about we secure the likes first or how about we do the damage first or maybe we can secure the lights first or the diode which came first the egg or the chicken the camera or the microscope a lot of questions I mean what would be really amazing is after all that work we still have no signal that would be absolutely amazing now we're going to apply a little bit of hot air the reason I applied hot air is so solder can flow to front of the board we want that connector to be very solid now we're gonna grab a donor diode awesome we did it all we have to do is clean up look at those joints and tell me it's not better than Factory hey what's up man how are you it's got water damage it came in through here I want your videos man let's flip the board and look at the likes of the Gemma connector and wow look at that look at how nice this solder made its way from back of the board to front of the board and secured those legs you see beautiful beautiful and just one quick check before I give it to Big Boss to reassemble and test hopefully everything is good solid just one solid for all the planes how about that very nice let me give this to Big Boss to resemble and test and I'll be back to finish the video while big boss is we assemble in the PlayStation let's work on this Nintendo board it came in for an SD connector replacement let's take a look at the SD connector and see what's going on and I do see one missing pin on the connector and I see signs of flux see we have one missing pad or one missing pin on the left and we cannot just simply run a wire from here to where that pin goes we're gonna have to replace the whole connector that's the proper way of doing it we're going to start by applying heat from the bottom and how about some flux on the top here blocks out so the southern let's put a river of flux thank you big boss just told me the PS5 is working but let me just finish this and then we'll go and check up on it I'll just give it to him he reassembled it in 20 seconds right beautiful done the job is done let's quickly check on the pins we do not want to see any moving pin we can tell if the top end moves solid and if we go the other side look at this look at how nicely those pins are soldered amazing and if we flip the board not flip the board but tilt the board they are perfectly aligned and awesome I just want to check if the pens here are solid done let's go and check up on Big Boss and check on the PlayStation he already told me it's working but we're gonna record it on video film extractor off so we just did two repairs in one video and let's go check up on Big Bus and that's the switch right here and right now big boss is actually working on five devices at a time because he's traveling next week next Saturday and I don't know what I'm gonna do without him I think I'm gonna stop accepting repairs that we need to take apart look at this it's working awesome awesome job and that's the HDMI connector that we soldered all right and you can have this one so oh another one we have another one that we need to fix also look at this look at this bench here oh and an Asus oh my goodness oh my goodness I have a lot of work a lot of work we're trying to finish everything that we have in the shop here because he's trying to do as much as he can and we need to send this stuff to customers before he leaves look at this I have an HP spec I have an Asus I have a Nintendo I have an iPad 10.5 and a lot of stuff a lot of stuff all this needs to be done Xbox I do not know God knows what's inside here we have another Xbox iPad Nintendo HP all of them have to be done by today there's no way I'm gonna finish everything today so I'm working as fast as I can a lot of work a lot of work I think I'm gonna put a note on our site for customers not to mail over devices that needs to be taken apart if you want to mail over a motherboard or a flash drive or a band's key fob or stuff that I can immediately work on then you can do it if you do want to mail a device and you can wait until he's back he's going for one month one month is a lot but we have a lot of e-commerce work that we need to do and we just removed all the shelves in this room not the shelves the tables I had four benches in this room I'm only using two benches I'm not using any of the benches there and the bench has ended up being storage we put stuff over them so I removed all of them big boss sits and the room inside and not in this room and I replaced all the benches with shelves after the ceilings we have a lot of products coming in next week and we do not have any more space to put the products so we need to work a lot on the e-commerce part of the business because e-commerce it's been going up like this exponentially we are providing excellent products all in one place and we are also working on adding camera equipment here I currently have a Canon 5D Mark III but I just ordered the Sony Alpha 7 version 4 along with lights and a lot of stuff so I need time to set all those up so that's it we're gonna end the video right here let me know what you think I hope you enjoyed it don't forget to like And subscribe leave a comment if have any questions and we'll do something else in the next video [Music] thank you
