small airport the hotel this is five minutes away I feel like I've done it seen it all as far as basketball is concerned but I've never actually played inside of prison and I've absolutely no idea what to expect well this really cool organization Prison Fellowship has reached out to give me the opportunity to come aside to prison I know some of these guys have made bad choices that had them end up here you know it's all my radar to take precaution feel out the situation first because you know this is a prison this isn't you know it's not Santa Clarita California I'm being charged with first-degree murder I'm here for three counts of manslaughter I mean you put assaulting a cop in my charge this attempted robbery I'm in here for a second degree murder and attempted second-degree murder at the age of 16 I got locked up for a robbery burglary and assault my charge is second-degree murder I got 60 to life I'm good locked up for 28 years and I've been in prison for 14 and a half prison that's all we can do is play basketball yeah I play basketball every day now it can get a little rough because it's still prison basketball foul means a foul in prison everybody knows the consequences of bullying things like that the basketball games here they are they get very intense so growing up we want you a war someone must always the professionals always hustle everybody just wants a shot at playing one-on-one don't feel like you're gonna be sort of next day you know we don't get these knots are opportunities in prison as much so I want to make the best of it hey how's it going I'm Alyssa Standish it works Prison Fellowship welcome to Nebraska thank you I'm Kevin Oliver I'm the recreation manager here at this facility been here for about 20 years is there anything I should look out for any general tough rules everything just you know be be as respectful with him as you can you know they some of them do have anger management issues that's always hit they know that move and don't be I'm not gonna lie walking into the prison it's a little little scary and the massive security and once you walk in the gate shut behind you in this real [Applause] [Music] [Applause] the court you know we planned initially on placing like to the to 1v1 textile that they came out flexing a little bit you know mean I so wasn't realizing there's like one guy here and then two three four five they triple seaman to Professor because they can't stop looking bored planning okay likewise we all place people on one [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] the time before now game 3 come on he's wanted to do that cuz of BT we know that watching this madness this is what he do [Music] yeah we gotta prove it tonight Oh Game three no I don't got no breath okay okay I'm waiting on it waiting on right good good good you're gonna be breathing to those ready for that [Music] I just played a professor and it was all this move for 2005 so I know he was gonna do him I think I got under his skin and he broke it back to 2018 and did some moves on me that I couldn't comprehend and he got me may I feel overwhelmed excited so I grew up watching him it's like a dream come true [Music] hopefully I can impact people you know that's that's why I came to the conclusion that you know it's way bigger than me when I came and it's about others so what'd you do today I used to work in this exact facility. I recognize a lot of prisoners and some staff. This is definitely not all of the population on the yard and is probably just a select few of the β€œbetter behaving ones.” We actually had a softball team of staff that went in and played the prisoners. There is a ball field on the grounds as well. It was a fun day and for a while you could tell that the prisoners weren’t thinking about how much time they still had. If you look at the news, recently there has been a lot of negative attention on The Nebraska prison system. It’s good to see a little positivity.

"He got us" the prisoners said of the Professor. "That fucking Professor boomed us".

"He's so good" they said repeating it four times.

This is really heart warming. You never really get to see the β€œpositive” side of prisoners as were usually shown how tough and harsh these prisons and their inmates are. Fantastic video shining a very positive light on these individuals, I truely felt for them.
