Printful Print File Guidlines

[Music] what is going on guys welcome back to another video on my printful series so today I want to get a little bit deeper into printful and how it actually works and how you can mock up your own shirts and mock up your own design so in my first video was just an introduction to printful today I'm gonna get a bit farther into if you guys have not already got signed up for printful click the link in my description get yourself signed up for printful if you already signed up and you've been trying to make designs or make shirts or trying to mock it up today's gonna be a little series on how to do that what to do and what not to do so let's go ahead and get started here go over to print folds website print Volcom like I said if you guys are not signed up just click the link get signed up for printful go ahead and go into the home page here so what we're gonna do today is look at the print filed guidelines what guidelines you have to follow to actually upload a design to a shirt and how to mock it all up and everything so we're just gonna go to products and pricing here down to men's clothing click that just go into I'm just gonna show you guys on just the basic Gildan they're cheap assured that they have on here how to mock up on there and the guidelines on those so we'll go ahead and go into the t-shirts this is the shirt I'm talking about the Gildan 64 starting pricing 895 basic colors go ahead and select this one here just gives you a couple options of colors these are the shirts that I started with just the basic shirts they're cheap they're easy to get easy to upload a design once I figured everything out on it so we're going to go ahead and scroll down first thing I want you guys to see is this file size right here 12 by 16 you can download the template so this is if you're making your own designs this this whole video pretty much is only gonna apply if you are making your own designs if you are not and somebody sent them to you hopefully they know about this stuff and they're making it correctly so that way it works when you upload it up to the shirt I'll show you guys in a second when I'm talking about so pretty much like I said this is pretty much it's gonna apply to the ones that are making your own design so 12 by 16 is gonna be your print area size this can be a 12 by 16 so when I'm in a photo shop i make my photo shop 12 by 16 and i design inside that 12 by 16 box and i know when I upload it up to printful that it's gonna pop up the perfect size that I want to in the middle of the shirt here but before we get any farther into actually mocking up or uploading anything when you scroll down so below the 12 by 16 you're gonna see print file guidelines here's gonna be all your guidelines your sizing so if you are doing a sleeve print so say you wanted to put your logo on a sleeve of the t-shirt it's gonna be four by 3.5 so 4 by 3 and 1/2 area that is gonna be your print area so you want to make your design fit inside of those parameters you don't want this big giant book your design try and squeeze it down into there just make it this size here and like I said you can go ahead and download the templates upload it up to your Photoshop and that way you know when you upload it then it's gonna fit perfectly wherever you want it on the shirt read through all of these I'm just going to point out the ones that are important I said if you are making your designs you guys will understand these PNG files PSD files everything like that but transparent backgrounds number two use transparent backgrounds graphics should always have a transparent background it will not work if you try and upload they say it's your logo and I'm gonna show you guys if you try to upload your logo and it has a black or white background even if you try and put it on a black or white shirt the computer is gonna generate that as it needs to be printed so it is gonna print a black box around your logo on the black shirt they're gonna be different colors of black and you're totally gonna see that it is there so whatever you are uploading whatever designs you are putting on there it has to be transparent if not it will not work um so you read through the rest of these set files include correct inside label info outline your fonts I'm down here it gives you a couple of tips um couple of videos for you guys to watch printful pretty much lays it all out for you guys I just wanted you guys to be able to know when you click on one of the products go down file-size if you go to leggings this can be completely different hoodies you're gonna be different everything should be different so you always want to see this file size gives you all the sizes right here read through all these guidelines to you guys know what you're getting yourself into before you start uploading designs let's go ahead and say order a sample was a personal order alright so I was gonna pull up this screen for you this is how you actually edit and mock up and upload your designs to the article of clothing that you're working with the first thing you're going to see is product this will be the product if you scroll down let's say I want a black shirt not a white one I'm gonna want it Excel it won't let you continue to the next step until you have uploaded your design which is gonna be right here or you can just add text you can just type in with some basic fonts on the shirt or add clipart right here's gonna show you front back left sleeve anywhere it's gonna automatically gonna take it to the front of the shirt but say you want it on the back you just click back upload your design here but we're gonna go ahead and do the front upload a file choose your file so these are ones I've already uploaded to my computer um if you don't have them if they're saved on your computer but you don't have them uploaded to printful yet you we're gonna go ahead and just hit upload right here it'll open it up for you and you'll upload what you need to but the first one i want to show you guys is actually this one right here so first you're gonna see size 0.2 to 3 by 2 3 by 2 so 3 by 2 3 by 2 rather than the 12 by 16 like you see over here so this is one that I made this one right here is one that I was up loaded from Instagram I just screenshot at my logo uploaded and I want to show you guys what it looks like if you try and just take something like this and put it onto tshirt so first off you're gonna see it is tiny which they give you the option to stretch designs you see inside the blue dotted print area right there that is your 12 by 16 print area so you can go ahead and stretch it out but first thing the print quality is medium up here gave me a notification right away We strongly suggest a larger file for better results and right here you can see the black does not match the black of the shirt so this is exactly how it would print onto your shirt and it's gonna be poor print quality you're gonna have a black box if you want that black box for the box around it then go ahead but either way you can't just upload any image from Google and expect it to upload to a shirt that's not the way it works you guys are really gonna have to decide if you were gonna get in the photo shop I knew nothing about any of this stuff I had to teach myself everything use YouTube that's why I'm doing these videos to kind of teach you guys how to do some of this stuff but this right here just does not work the print quality is not gonna be good the image is not gonna be good your shirts just not gonna look good at all it doesn't matter unless you want this tiny little box right here then you see good print quality but that's what your logo is gonna look like on your shirt you can Center it move it however you want it is just not gonna work so let's go ahead and clear this one out choose a different file so this is one made correctly on Photoshop I'm gonna show you what it looks like so as you see as soon as it pops up on the shirt good print quality a thousand dpi which is pretty good you can see is pretty much where I've won it on the shirt I'd probably move it up a little bit over here you can align it so make sure that it is correct on the t-shirt click there there's my shirt that's exactly how it come out no funny background on it fit in there right away exactly how I needed it to and no issue like I said I can move it around I can make it lower aligned to print area you have a vertical center and a horizontal center this will Center it on the shirt for you like you said I prefer to kind of move my logo up but then I will do a horizontal force Center on it to make sure that it's there correctly so that's one of my shirts that's a fight for recovery shirt I say guys I'm the owner of fight for recovery Arizona recovering addict that has just set out on this mission to help people in recovery part of that has been starting my own clothing line and business and so that's how I got into all this and now I'm just teaching it to other people go ahead and back out here but like I said I just wanted to show you guys how it actually works these print files what it looks like if you try and just upload any image from Google it's not gonna work I'm pretty much gonna be done here like I said I wanted you guys just to see what it looks like where you can find the guidelines of these and how you can download templates to start working on your Photoshop pretty much what I got for you guys let me show you guys something else real quick though like I said if you if you guys are getting ready to upload some images to shirts make sure you follow the guidelines look at the guidelines down here breathe through all this and just know that you cannot just upload any image I want to assure and expect it to print the way you'd like it to in my last video I talked about how somebody places in order what it looks like through printful so real fast you can see I've got to order as ordered Monday 11:54 a.m. and it says status right here says being fulfilled if you click on that so this is printful gives you a full breakdown of everything that is going on so my orders being fulfilled okay so picking this is when they pick the shirt to be printed or pick though this has happens to be a pair of leggings picking so it was picked six hours ago Manuel Manuel because he gives you the person's name Manuel completed printing thirteen minutes ago and now it is sent over to Quality Control so anytime somebody places an order with you guys you are able to see exactly bus going off it's been picked Jeff it's been printed Quality Control next is sorting packaging and then I'll let you know when it is shipped and then it will update your customers that's how easy printful makes everything for you guys so you said today's just real quick file sizes print file guidelines make sure you follow those guidelines how many more questions leave comments I'll answer them below but that's what I got for you guys to look forward to a few more videos for me on the whole printful serious will get a little bit more and get them to it will do leggings couple different things this is just your basic t-shirt get yourself signed up and I'm also gonna start doing a photoshop series so that way you guys can see exactly how I make my designs and upload them
