a matter of hours lawyers for a woman sitting on death row for the 2005 kidnapping and murder of a Jacksonville couple will go before the Florida Supreme Court 33 year-old Tiffany Cole is asking for a new trial on grounds her original defense attorneys were ineffective Cole was one of three people convicted in the crime Allen Wade and Cole's boyfriend Michael Jackson the man identified as the mastermind also said on death row a third man Bruce Nixon testified against the others and is serving 45 years in prison prosecutors said the four conspirators kidnapped robbed and buried this couple 61 year old Carol and Reggie Sumner burying them alive in Salton County Georgia tonight Channel 4's ashley harding spoke with Reggie Sumner sister I mean we believe that they got fair trial and we believe that they got the right you know what was due to them for Reverend gene Clark the last 10 years had been very hard and a very painful every day she thinks about her brother Reggie Sumner and his wife Carol still her thoughts are never far from the four people involved with their murders and the woman now asking for a new trial in the case on the grounds that her trial lawyers were ineffective most people are going to try to come back with something like that after the fact because they're gonna try to find a loophole to get all but justice has a voice adjusted has to be smooth that road to justice began after Tiffany Cole and the three others were arrested and charged with murder according to police Cole knew the Sumner's and had even bought a car from them they say she provided the link the couple was kidnapped and robbed their bodies found in a shallow grave in Georgia as shown in these pictures taken from inside a rented limo the group seemed to enjoy the cash and during her trial Cole pointed the finger at her boyfriend Michael Jackson but please remember that I didn't do this I'm not the monster that created this for Reverend Clark the thought of possibly going through another trial weighs heavily on her heart and undoubtedly the hearts of many others who love to the Sumner's I have family members that are still not the same never will be the same in fact I don't like to involve them too much into things like this because I can't deal with it Reverend Clark remembers the Sumner's as a couple very much in love who would do anything for anybody and all she wants is justice and as I said in that courtroom one day I saw the ground opened and I saw her hurling scream come out and the blood of my brother and my sister-in-law and my brother Reggie and my sister all Carol still cries out for justice justice as a voice
