[Music] what's going on guys we are back today we got some performance stuff for the old Ram here now if you didn't know the whole reason I got this new 5th gen Cummins is to use as a farm truck we have horses so the majority of the time this is me pulling horses in the winter pulling snowmobile trailer now there's some things with the 5th gen Cummins that uh leave a little bit to be desired you know it's a great truck it's a great powertrain it can use some upgrades so if you haven't heard of banks power you're just not around diesels enough they are probably the preeminent Diesel Parts Company out there and they hooked me up with a whole bunch of stuff I don't actually even know what is all in here uh so we're going to go through unbox everything see what we have and then we're gonna head back to my house and install it so let's dig into all this goodies so this box is going to be the cold air intake with the big ass filter look at that bad boy there's our air box Super Scoop all right here's our intake elbow oh to put that bad boy on there license plate bracket so everybody's gonna complain because it has you know the enclosed box but Banks has proven time after time that the enclosed box is the way to go this is going to get you the coolest densest air possible this big ass filter and this system being built this way reduces heatsink and flows 51 percent better CFM over stock equaling better efficiency more power out of this little six cylinder not only does this protect the heatsink and everything like that it actually builds volume around the intake to produce more air pressure more airflow inside of there and even though it is enclosed this is actually going to give you a little bit more noise another great upgrade for these uh six seven Cummins engines super School so we got the engine cover and the ram air system out of the way so we can actually kind of see what we're doing I'll start over here with the intake and uh work our way down to this boost tube and then we'll jump over here do this intake elbow and the Boost tube on this side [Music] just a quick comparison here of the new Banks system compared to this 20 pound Factory one that has a silencer inside of it our bank's big ass filter is going to be slightly better than our stock Cummins dirty ass filter first step to building power is breathing rain we got that right here [Music] it goes if they go on the side [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right guys so the first thing out of the box is going to be new Boost tubes now these are going to be three and a half inch aluminized steel and as you can see this is going to be the red powder coated finish these also do come in natural and black bigger than Factory and it's the biggest on the market so Banks went through and as they always do over engineered everything to get maximum flow so we're gonna have the steel charge pipes now as well as these silicone adapters which are actually going to give us a slighter angle everything to improve flow improve fuel economy improve power it's actually going to increase throttle response and get rid of some turbo leg this just shows you how much better the bank's system is going to flow over the stock Mopar system flow everything is about the flow look at that okay I think we're gonna have a little bit more air going through there listen I know how terrible this is gonna slide in so the whole thing is to come out and down because we pushed it in to get it to line up all right guys so here on the cold side you can see that the diameters are actually fairly similar as opposed to the other side it's significantly smaller but this one's plastic as opposed to the aluminized steel on this side obviously with the paint again so we're just gonna get we're going to get better flow we're not going to get heat sink that we're going to get with plastic we're going to get this swapped out and then we'll get back to putting the old monster Ramen [Music] it's the monster ram what's in this box right here is easily the the best part you could ever possibly buy for a six seven comments fourth gen 5th gen doesn't matter every single truck out there every single six seven Cummins should be running this monster ram intake right here yes it's really this big there it is folks thanks monster ram intake plenum gasket this right here may not look like much it's how you use it okay if you know anything about the six seven Cummins engine the major major fail point on these things is the plastic grid heater there's this little bolt inside this plastic tab that after mileage or use rattles loose breaks off falls down the intake ends up in the number six cylinder and grenades these engines I am at a hundred thousand miles I live in Wisconsin where this thing is in preheat constantly it's cold so I've just been praying every day that mine doesn't do that this eliminates all of that your factory grid heater sits through here and it's plastic factory this not plastic that is aluminum right there there's also you'll see there's no grid heater there they eliminate the grid heater and use this coil type that sits up here which means there's no plastic part to fail apart from that I mean it's Banks they're all about flow look at how beautiful and smooth that is your factory three intake is like a quarter of this size this is mastered because it has all these extra fittings so if you have the bank's eye Dash you can run monitors for intake pressure temperature things like that it's already pre-drilled pre-tapped ready to go and then it comes with plugs if you don't have them like I said if you own a six seven Cummins 4th gen or fifth gen you need this like it's not a matter of oh it's a good luck because you need this or you will be replacing that engine at some point [Music] thank you [Music] all right guys now we got the stock intake manifold out you can see just pretty obvious how much better this monster ram is gonna flow and there's no doubt as to why it's just on airflow I mean look at that I can get my whole arm in here this one you can see there's a split here I can get my fingers this one this is going to be completely emission compliant 50 state legal [Music] fuel rail Trail for the fuel Victory so this is gonna be our Factory intake plate with our grid heater so this plastic piece here is our grid heater and what happens is this gets brittle it breaks it melts and these fall off into our intake end up in number six cylinder and just destroy the truck that's why Banks develop this so we're going from this plain old aluminum Style with this grid heater to coil heater which is going to mount up here inside of our monster ram which is still you know above the intake here but there's nothing plastic here to fall off and end up inside the engine eliminates all of those issues we're going to relocate our fuel line our fuel pressure sensor stuff like that I cannot tell you enough how important this is there's so many people that are doing this after the truck's already blown up after they've already had to buy a new engine little time intensive but it's so worth it to have the peace of mind that this is not going to fail it's not going to grenade the engine this is just one step towards bulletproofing and then already really really strong Engine with the the bank's monster ram setup so if you can't tell just from this picture how much this is worth it very very very important piece for the longevity of your engine wallet [Music] we'll put back in all the fuel lines now the kit does come with a new number one fuel line here uh get everything plugged back in and uh next we can do the fun stuff of putting in a monster ram all right guys we are back for day two So today we're gonna knock out the old monster ram holy but maybe today we'll actually get to see some uh some performance out of this this is the intake so you have to try and get it in here and not fall [Music] ing [Music] all right I think we're ready to be all right guys there you have it the banks monster RAM installed with the Billet plate and the relocated heater also coupled with the banks boost tubes and the ram air system with a big ass filter this thing is going to breathe so much better build so much more power and be way more efficient even with these giant wheels and pulling a horse trailer [Music] I am all right guys last but certainly not least this is clearly monster exhaust with the sidekick tip now this is a DPF back so it does retain emissions it's 50 state legal all of that stuff so it's not going to make it smoke it's not going to make it you know super loud so this is going to be a five inch aluminized exhaust now they did tell me one caveat this climate up here this is going to rust within like a year so they do definitely recommend it getting color coded or cerakoted which we will do down the road but for now we're just going to throw it in again if you haven't seen a factory six seven exhaust it fluctuates in size so this is going to be a smooth transition it relieves back pressure at the turbo by nine percent again allowing everything to breathe more efficiently ending up with better economy and performance overall now this also is going to come with the side kick kit these tips are actually designed with performance in mind it is actually designed at the negative pressure when you're driving down the road will build up in here and suck the exhaust gases right out as you're driving making again everything more efficient building more power that's not budging all right guys so we got the stock exhaust out next to this Banks unit and you can clearly see the differences right off the bat not only is the stock one go varying diameters of pipe here it's got some hard bends in it and you'll see the banks five inch all the way back much smoother bends just like up front giving us better flow in better flow out better performance overall that's what this is all about is performance performance performance guys [Music] all right [Music] all right guys now we got everything installed uh we need fuel anyway so we're gonna take a little bit of Drive but mostly I'm excited to see if we got a little bit more performance out of this thing see if we can't feel that I can hear the turbo you couldn't hear the turbo before that's kind of cool a little more pep in her stuff it's a little smoother throttle too it's actually kind of nice fully boxed intake and I can hear the turbo that is awesome this thing's got somewhere close to a thousand foot pounds of torque and now it actually kind of feels like it this is everything installed we've got the banks monster ram with the heater relocation to get rid of that factory plastic grid heater we've got the banks loose tubes on the intercooler we've got the ram air intake with the big S filter which is literally the name of it that's what it's called and we've got the five inch monster exhaust with the Chrome tip and you can take my word for it you can definitely feel the performance but Banks also backs up everything they sell with Dyno sheets proven
