I've been going to concerts steadily since I was like 12 years old and these (Night 1 + Night 2) were the best I have ever been to. To this day I try to describe to other music fans what the sound was like that weekend and it just doesn't do it justice.
The combination of a full band, horns, and a string section on top of full-bodied bass music was like nothing I have heard before or heard since. On paper that sounds like it would be too dense and not gel but the compositions were so balanced it had a synergistic effect. Add to that the mind blowing light production...It was like I was seeing 20+ years into the future of music and how it could be once we all catch up.
