now earlier this year Tottenham and their Brazilian Ford R charison took the Really Brave decision to reveal just how his mental health struggles and depression had left him right at Rock Bottom this weekend sees the return of the Premier League's inside matters Campaign which aims to encourage fans to check on each other and talk about mental health and to Mark the campaign's launch footage of ral's interview was shown to fellow top fight players in order to support his powerful message and to continue the conversation around mental [Music] health w [Music] so inspiring really to see a high-profile footballer be so vulnerable um with his emotions and just didn't hold back at all did he for some people is hot really hot because in the life everything can [Music] [Music] [Music] happen D yeah you know he's got a lot of eyes on him at all times and that just shows you know the immense pressure that players like him are under um and it gets to you on a personal [Music] level yeah that's like the bravest the bravest thing to be able to come out and be so emotional and talk so openly about the struggles that he's been through py for him to be so honest about that and and actually say like listen I went to therapy and it saved my life is it doesn't get much more powerful than that you help others to to talk and to think out if I'm good or not anyone who's in any sort of Spotlight and can raise an issue if that ends up resonating to even one person who's watching um and you know can improve their life that's a job well done really there's nothing wrong with saying that you feel like you need need help in certain situations we will have our times where we feel a bit down and and negative I've had a few injuries which is obviously affected my game time I've been there myself where you know I've been down I felt like I was in a situation where I needed to to talk to someone who wasn't involved in football just feeling like you can be completely open honest vulnerable kind of feel like it's a weight off your shoulders and you then also get great feedback and how to you know combat negative feelings or emotions or whatever you're feeling at the time I remember a couple years ago um on the back of an ankle injury and coming back too soon from it coming in after an international game against Costa Rica after we just won a trophy um I remember coming in from that game and crying my eyes out you know obviously the whole stigma around it being not something that footballers or men do I think is it's something that kind of needs to just be kicked out now really follow talking to my friends and family is helped me out of times where I've where I've maybe struggled but the the reality is that some people you know athletes or not might not have that support and that's when you need to seek um seek the right sort of help I think it's a good thing to talk with someone because the more you spread out what you have in your heart the more you will be better for [Music]
