Powerful Formuler Z11 Pro Max 4K Streaming Box - 4GB+32GB - Any Good?

what's up guys formula z11 Pro Max is in the house now many of you were requesting this review so I got it done especially for you guys [Music] this is another Super premium 4K streaming box and formula are one of the leading Brands when it comes to Internet TV streaming boxes featuring my TV online 3 which is their custom Internet TV software giving you amazing features like time shift PVR recording picture in picture mode and lots more so in this video we'll be doing a full test review to find out the capabilities performance gaming and to see how it ranks in our top TV box performance chart now first of all inside the Box you will find a user manual an optional infrared extension lead which you don't really have to use it is optional because the TV box does have an infrared built in this also comes with an HDMI cable a power supply and a full-featured remote control this remote can also be programmed to control some of your TV functions and the instructions are on the back and the remote is powered by two double a batteries not included in the box and last but not least the TV box itself so here it is guys the formula 11 Pro Max I was actually very eager to test this box out finally got my hands on it a very nice unique design formula logo engraved and you've got this interesting Groove design and the box has this really nice matte finish now on the front you've got nothing just an LED power indicator on the right on the side we've got one USB 3 port on the back we've got a gigabit Lan HDMI 2.1 we've got a USB 2 Port just underneath we have a micro SD card slot you've got the infrared Port so if you want to use the optional infrared extension you can do that we've got a power socket if we keep going nothing on this side and that brings us back to the front and here is a quick look at the bottom of the box I also want to quickly show you formulas new Advanced Bluetooth voice remote you've got a Google Assistant button in there as well I'll compare it to the standard remote you get in the box so you can see the extra feature here is the Google Assistant button the built-in microphone that's going to be a really nice responsive remote it's optional extra if you want to pick it up and here is a protective silicon case for the remote control so without any further Ado I'm going to get this hooked up to my TV and capture card and we are going to find out exactly how good the z11 pro Max really is I'll be right back so first of all I've ran a boot up speed test and this TV box took exact 19 seconds to fully load the home screen from a cold start and this is full Android 11 with Buzz TV's latest skin on top with all your apps showcased in the first row this interface is designed with Internet TV in mind underneath you have your quick settings starting with hotkeys which lets you customize the colored buttons on the remote control and you can assign any app you like to each button you then have software update and when I first powered on an update was available and from my past experience I can tell you that this brand does drop regular OTA updates then we have power mode which allows you to choose what the power button does so standby or power off thereafter System Info will give you the model number firmware version build date Etc and then we have network storage so you can easily connect a network server if you wish to do so and right at the bottom you have all your settings so main Wi-Fi Bluetooth launcher and power now if we start off with the main system setting things go to device preferences and check out the system storage info you will see that this box has 32 gigs of internal storage from which you have 27 gigs free to use and if we have a quick looking about you will see that this box is running Android version 11. now let me quickly show you Launcher settings so here we have app groups parental controls and you can even select an app to auto start every time you boot the box and the obvious choice is most likely to be my TV online 3 which is their custom Internet TV software now customized channels lets you activate recent channels and VOD history in case you need it and then if you select Advanced it will give you the option to change the wallpaper now back under device preferences you have HDMI CEC with a whole bunch of options so you can activate TV control and more using the included bluetooth remote which is quite an impressive responsive remote with lots of great functionality to take advantage of your internet TV services under display and sound you can see the resolution is 4K 60 hertz that's 10 bit HDR output is set to Adaptive but you can select HDR 10 or hlg all the time or you can just switch HDR completely off now here are the default apps pre-installed on this box I've not installed hold anything yet so you have your my TV online 3 YouTube Media Browser you've got a VPN software and two app stores so we have a third-party app store for easy one-click downloads of some of the popular apps like Netflix Kodi Etc and you also have the official Google Play Store but this appears to be the Android TV version of the Play Store so limited to Android TV apps and games and I also want to mention if you search for Netflix within the Google Play Store you will see that it's not available to download but you can of course download it from the third party app store which is quite easy to do Netflix streaming test a little bit later in the video next up 4K video samples from a USB drive but as we don't have a media player pre-installed I just grab the MX Player which was convenient to do but you could also download Kodi or VLC or any other media player that you prefer so opening up MX Player and accessing my external drive to test out our 4K samples and I can confirm that FAT32 and NTFS format drives work absolutely fine exfat formatted drives from Mac do not work on this box so starting off with the high bitrate 4K jellyfish demo this is the 160 megabits per second video file and as you can see it's doing well as expected next one 180 megabits per second also handling very well and the real test is the 400 megabits per second High bitriate jellyfish demo which as you can see absolutely struggles to play back on this box so 400 megabits per second is not happening on this box thereafter I tested some 4k60 videos with various HDR formats and as you guys can see they're all played back beautifully vibrant colors and great looking HDR foreign furthermore I also tested out an av1 clip which you can see is playing back fine the clip is one minute 24 seconds in length and it's about 10 megabytes in size so everyone Kodak playing back fine now let's move on to the YouTube streaming test and I'm pleased to say YouTube does support 4K 60 with HDR and the playback is super smooth with no drop frames at all [Music] meet the residents of element City air usually has their head in the cloud I'm in danger there's Intruders what do I do it's gonna be all right I'm on my way the Visa Grande [Music] and next up I tested Netflix and this is the tablet version of Netflix so it does require a mouse to operate but fortunately it does stream a maximum resolution of 1080p which is certainly good news Amazon Prime video was also able to stream 1080p with HDR I decided to do a bit of muscle car house key and Disney plus actually supports 4K with HDR 10. now let's do a quick gaming test starting off with asphalt 8. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so for your Advanced users DRM info shows Google widevine level 1 and here is CPU Zed where you can check out the clock speeds and you can see we are indeed running the Mali g57 this box is running Android 11 and does not come rooted as standard and here are the results for the internal storage speed test we achieved read speeds of 205 and write speeds of 106 megabits per second so that brings us to our benchmarks beginning with geekbench single core score of 125 and multi-core score of 414 and in the antutu benchmark test we achieved 103k so let's see how this Compares with the other TV boxes of this year so here is my top TV box performance chart of 2023 showing you all the latest TV boxes and seeing how they compare with each other the ranking is based on benchmark scores so the most powerful boxes will be ranked towards the top of this chart and based on that you can can see that the formula z11 Pro Max has taken position 11 on this chart with a benchmark score of 103k now I've also given this box an overall rating of 5 out of five and it is quite rare for a TV box to achieve a five out of 5. now you can see the performance scores and my overall rating all color coded to make it easier for you to read and you can view the full versions of all my charts online and free of charge at chixtech.com and read them at your leisure so there you have it guys that was the formula z11 Pro Max and here are my thoughts starting off with the caveats now you've got no native screen mirroring and only one USB 3.0 Port apart from that this streaming box offers the best experience for your internet TV services now the my TV online 3 software is so easy to use you simply log into your service and everything is neatly arranged for you with a very nice EPG guide you can record a channel whilst watching another you have timers time shift and even picture in picture mode so you can watch two channels at the same time and switch between the channels for the big screen view the experience is Simply the Best I have tested so far you also have 4K HDR streaming supported in YouTube and Disney plus and even Amazon Prime video and Netflix support HD streaming the design being small compact and smart in appearance is just a bonus and the remote control is also so damn good it's responsive with lots of features bottom line if you're using internet TV then this box will no doubt give you an awesome experience yes the price does bring it very close to the Nvidia Shield TV but I have to say I absolutely love the custom software my TV online 3 is absolutely awesome so if I had to choose a box for Internet TV I guess I'm choosing the formula z11 Pro Max I hope you found this one useful any questions you guys know what to do please do support the channel by hitting the like and sub button meanwhile thank you so much for watching and I'll catch you all in the next one peace foreign [Music]
