foreign Within powerapps now this is quite a common question that I get and there are different ways of doing it one of the ways is by using power automate but as you probably know that's going to be a bit more of a run around so I'm going to show you a much simpler way if you just want to send a very quick email within your app so here's my app it's just a very basic app here for for unbooking courses so if I come to design mode now what I want to do is I want to just insert a button somewhere and when that button's clicked it's going to send the email out so what I'm going to do here is insert a brand new card drop a button on the card and that'll be the button which is going to be clicked and will send out the email so if I click on the form here and then come along to the properties Fields edit fields and then add a custom card and I'm going to move that towards the top so it sits there and within that card I'm going to insert a button so that's it there there's the button I put the text as being send email now in order to send an email you need to be connected to some kind of email connector so the one we're going to use here is the Outlook 365 connector so if I come along here to the view menu and then click on data sources and I want to add a data source and I want to search for Outlook there it is Office 365 Outlook select that and that's now going to allow me to put in the commands for sending the email so now if I come to the button and I select it so I want to come to the on Select Property here on the left hand side and in there I want to type office 365 Office 365 Outlook I'll spell that wrong silly mate Dot and then you want to put send email Office 365 Outlook dot send email and now you can see here gives you what you're going to need to put in as parameters so you need the two which is the email address and a subject and the body of the email so everything has to be in quotation marks so for example and now I can put in my email address and then you want subject so just for now in quotes and the body of the email do it like that and that's it that's all you need and now if I just click the button that will send the email alternatively what I could do is I could pick the email address up from this text box here so if I click on that and the name of that text box is let's go to the properties text email so what I can do is again on the button I could actually take it from the email address from that box so I could put in text email dot text and that's it that's all you need to send an email in powerapps you just need that one command now obviously you could also add a bigger text box for the body of the email if you wanted to um so you can type in more words and stuff for the body of the email but for now we're just using a small string so if I run this now and I put my email address in there and click Send email that now go that now has gone off I can hear a sound there so in here go to my email and here it is so you can see the subject here at the top test email and it says this is a test for sending email so if you click on it we can see here here it is so I hope that's given you an idea now of how to send an email in powerapps if you like this video please click the button to like it or why not subscribe to my channel or you can even download my free powerapps for newbies book at www.powerapps for newbies.com
