POPE-LEIGHEY HOUSE (designed by Frank Lloyd Wright)

okay made it just in time headed down to the pope leahy house and uh i hope i'm doing the right thing um when i pulled in it said this place was closed there were two other cars in the parking lot and uh sign in front of the main building said just go directly to the house so i'm assuming my guides can meet me down here [Music] so anyway this is a house built by architect frank lloyd wright and i was built sometime in the early 40s and uh from the pictures i've seen online it's kind of a futuristic looking log cabin and i was supposed to be a prototype for the modern middle class home [Music] very strong wood smell in here wide open fireplace a little scary in all wooden house pretty interesting design with the windows and these windows are meant to open creating a cross breeze and they also leave a pretty cool shadow marching across the room yeah this is white cedar meant to last forever definitely a strong horizontal theme going throughout the house even the screws were tight to be left horizontal [Music] brickwork as well mortar was filled in with a darker color leaving this to be more pronounced all right they're outside here's the master bedroom and this has got to be children's room [Music] [Music] all right well it's good to mix things up and uh check out a more modern house so anyway so i guess that's it i'm out of here
