hello everyone this is Carlos from my family Flight Plan welcome to another video I haven't made one of these videos in a long time and to be honest it's been too long uh we've had a lot of uh things going on with my family we had a baby um and I got my instrument rating a lot of things I wish I could have recorded but unfortunately I ran into issues where the camera wasn't working or just didn't have enough time for editing so anyway today we are going to do some pattern work here at Reed Hillview been up for a while uh probably about three or four weeks ago um so yeah today we're just gonna do some pattern work and also answer some questions about the commands you might have so anyway welcome on board and uh let's go fly good afternoon read Hillview ground command T 5825 Papa roll Lima taxi or sorry excuse me row India uh tactic takeoff with information kilo request to stay in the pattern Comanche 58255 good afternoon we're nature run right all right three one right via Zulu Community 5825 we've been cleared a taxi to Runway 3-1 be low so some of you guys caught I uh mixed up our row it's uh we moved to a hangar from a shelter um I got a little tired of the plane getting super dirty and uh wet during the rain and uh shelter wasn't really doing it for us thankfully we talked with the wife and she agrees the way to go so we've been in a hangar now since uh for let's see about four months five months I've been loving it watched the plane once and I haven't had to wash it since because it's stayed nice and clean um thankfully there it doesn't really leak it has a couple leaks but not nothing major and yeah the plane has been nice and clean it's been really nice good afternoon read Hillview Tower Comanche 5825 Papa at the 3-1 run-up area ready for departure two five Papa make a great traffic through and right clear for takeoff two high pop all right feel pumpkin come on now make sure you're coming full rich my lights are on rotating beak gone fuel pump bye now in cue that I am on three one run three to one right y we're clear for takeoff Windows come all right there's Pizza live she wants to go all right no more Runway remaining simulating here Echo two thousand eight hundred feet uh YouTube Charlie Charlie uh hire 200 feet above it is where the rest kicks in let's get back in it okay there we are 1100 Comanche 25 Papa roaming right clear the option ws0 limit Charlie traffic right base to the parallel Comanche Runway through one left there for the option all right Charlie Charlie approaching the left face of the parallel Columbia is your limit Charlie traffic three and a half of a paralysis see you later Charlie okay all right next stop to flaps fuel pump all right gas undercarriage mixture prop seat belt switches good all right back on the Glide slope speed's looking great good simulated gear coming up all right guys so let me know in the comments uh if you'd like to you'd like me to do some videos on like a review of the Comanche I've owned the airplane for about two years now or sorry three years if you're interested in like what it costs to maintain and own an airplane like this happy to be as transparent as possible and help anybody out that might be looking um to get themselves flying or you know in a Comanche as well fuel pump coming on and we'll do their gums checklist gas undercarriage mixture prop elt switches final looks clear two notches if everybody anybody's caught it I'm only using two notches today it's a very calm day and I am by myself in the aircraft so if I were to use three notches so two notches works perfect if it's just me in the airplane and work really light all right so hopefully you guys can see we are just capturing the Glide slope here on Runway three one right a little fast there's a 1507 actually BW Tower you ready x-ray we'll go ahead and terminate here because I hesitated probably had enough Yankee Yankee probably had enough room here to do another go around however I hesitated on that and better be safe no need to rush anything so today so next day make a right down departure Runway three one right clear for takeoff but it doesn't look too bad again I haven't flown in about three weeks four weeks that's really bad for the plane by the way I I usually like to fly about once a week um Ops twice a week I had a trip to Tokyo um so that's a big reason why I haven't flown and then of course I come back and give myself and the rest of the family um uh Verona so yeah it's been it's been a week um but anyway it's really nice to get back out here I can't say how nice it is to be flying again anyway for those of you that don't know this is a 1959 Piper Comanche um the previous owner and the owner before that actually all the owners really have taken extremely good care of it um paint job new fairly new interior I could use some new instruments but overall it's uh everything's in really good shape and it's a perfect IFR platform for me it's a great cross-country machine as well we've uh taken this plane all over the country including Texas uh up to the Pacific Northwest so overall very happy with the plane meeting our mission for a family of four community five Papa make right close traffic on my third eye Clips take off okie doke final looks clear all right traffic full rich fuel pump coming on my lights that accidentally came on going right good all right everything's set two notches of flaps and does she like to get off the ground so fast when it's just me even with four people I've had this plane fully loaded simulated Gear Up like to the top when we went to Texas I had it right at gross and they just carbs no problem here let me tell everyone never problem s land what do we look on for the commands in the right ways all right let's go ahead and turn my right base terminating Charlie Roger oh sure everything right I really need to drop some hours we're cutting it just a little bit short all right feel pump okay gear gas undercarriage mixture prop belt switches ready to land because the 07x8 traffic 11 o'clock two miles opposite direction that's it in the case 3900 Cessna inside looking good a little high we'll do one more and then we'll head over The Observatory for a little bit we hope you Tower series 155 pillow Mike 3300 over UTC and found some Landing with Lima here's down here's 145 kill the Nike retail view Tower traffic one o'clock two miles southbound now tuned in the case 3900 Chestnut straight in Runway through and right right before traffic heading to your right one mile opposite direction I'll see that case 3 300 series Comanche two five Papa changing make a lot of traffic going through and left um Runway C1 right Quick Lane foreign except this time we're making left turns we can go ahead and let them know that we're gonna be changing that up before we do that fuel pump coming on gear down mixture prophecies that's the 231 traffic left face should a parallel Comanche 225 Papa traffic approaching right base to the parallel assessment foreign [Music] seat belts ears down it's just four Charlie Alpha departure frequency one two one point three squawk four five two seven four five two seven create your two five Papa make a right down departure yeah this guy's got me switching left right left right that's okay that's how we learn it's because there's an assessment right there on my left all right heading towards the right avoid the Charlie airspace San Jose foreign all right so yeah we're climbing right now at a thousand feet per minute a little bit of power down 25 25 a little bit more everything's looking good Comanche 25 Papa traffic 12 o'clock three miles south eastbound obviously indicate 4 100 so stuff inside field over here on the right in case anything goes wrong that's where we're going all right approaching 5 500 feet this whole area was driving filled with snow just a week ago very pretty but today there's no really No Agenda that's one of the beauties of general aviation you can throw a little Italian right there literally just go up if you want turn right Cruise I'll tell you a little bit about the plane so I bought it back in 2020. I picked it up in Omaha Nebraska the gentleman that had it like I said he had taken really good care of it was hangered and hold on I got really lucky honestly I I looked at three planes before this one and for one reason or another they all kind of fell through all Comanches I was really interested in the Comanches because my first my first flight uh that I ever took okay was uh my Discovery flight when I was 14 years old was in the Comanche I'm sorry traffic traffic [Music] not only with flying but with the plane one of those things that I was like this plane could do really anything I wanted to do um you guys have seen probably some videos of the Cherokee that I used to own with 11 other partners but you know availability started becoming an issue for for me and my family so the time was right and uh we decided to go ahead and say it was time to buy our own plate I've done a lot of great trips with the plane I wish we could do some more uh to be honest the we had our second baby um quite a bit so 2021 2022. in a way a lot of cruising around Bay Area I was able to get my instrument rating during that time which was really nice and we took one big trip which I tried to record but uh with my luck things didn't go that great so we took a trip all the way to Austin Texas in the plane uh it took us two days about nine hours of falling and we split it in half um it was a fantastic trip uh plane performed beautifully I did have some issues uh with the fuel pump or with the fuel pressure I should say and uh still having some of those issues I think it's more of an indicator issue I'm not 100 sure but yeah overall great trip great experience builder for me I got my instrument reading right before the trip so it was perfect didn't really I had to use it I guess twice I gotta tell you it was um that was a lot of fun [Music] unfortunately again the camera Gods weren't really happy I had a lot of issues with the audio and it just didn't make sense to put it to a video um but a lot of first for that too cold weather flying um oh it wasn't icing but it was very cold I think we at least it's a clear day so it wasn't a secret issue and the way back was definitely uh navigating through some storms and getting out of icing and whatnot so one two eight Fair Vector resources a great experience Builder as well yeah overall again our main mission is going up and down the coast we have family in the Central Coast of California uh up in the down in the San Luis Obispo area so you know we take some time to go down there um we'll be going to San Diego in a couple of weeks so hopefully we'll be taking you down and also we'll be going down to La um for a day trip so again hopefully if everything works out I think I upgraded my camera system and uh hopefully I'll be able to take you with me on that Adventure well again let me know what kind of content you want overall you know I made this video really to document my travel with my family um I'll be doing more of that but of course if you're interested more in learning more about the airframe itself the type of Comanche other airplanes as well um let's see what else maintenance costs annuals all that all that stuff I'm happy to share um my knowledge with that and uh hopefully it encourages other people to do you want left foot of the options but look into flying it's it's really an amazing thing uh the freedom you have and uh the things you can do so we're gonna go ahead and uh load up an approach might as well practice and approach to uh read Hillview so we'll do the 3-1 Zulu approach and we'll do it from Euro we'll go ahead and start coming down a little bit want to be at 4 300 at ekion we'll call the tower at akion let them know we have information that's beautiful out here today takeoff Towers by straight out I'll call you Channel we see him like their potatoes everyone right click or take off you'll call it all right perfect come down so make sure you know what sets my one mile final additional traffic turning left base for the parallel steps now Runway three one right clear to land right here to Land I got the Cessna I don't have number one but I see he's on short final at the moment all right go ahead gas undercarriage mixer prop seat belts a mixture coming rich and upcoming full many years down uh two three four holds shorter Runway three one right Charlie notication Runway three one left right left in two three four cross Runway three one right at Charlie contacts all right there's a Runway come on glide slope the plan this bird two notches gas undercarriage mixture of props to the end contact round no delay to the end caught looking ground all right let's make this last one a good one tower system under six Hotel holding shorter three Winery standby a little off center line I'll take it up all right [Music] honestly guys I can't tell you enough how much I miss flying it's been too long and just doing this like recharges me for
