[Music] what's up guys Bruns Nicks back and we're here to talk about your very first performance bowling ball you might be new to bowling you might be new to this channel we're going to talk about some options that you can get for your F first ball to learn how to hook it before we get to all that please subscribe to my channel if you haven't already now let's talk about performance bowling [Music] [Music] balls so you might be new to bowling you might have gone a few times just for fun maybe you just used a house ball maybe used a friends Ball but you're trying to get get a little bit more serious about it and maybe get your own equipment and you want to learn how to hook the ball because obviously hooking the ball equals more fun more strikes more pin action all the above so we're going to talk about some options that you can look at for your very first performance bowling ball and we're going to go over them one by one starting with the Brunswick twist now the twist is Brunswick's entry option to reactive performance this is going to be your first step into reactive performance in the Brunswick line and the brunic brands of family bowling balls so the twists just like the other balls we'll talk about are offered in a variety of colors and variety of Weights so the twist is actually offered in 8 through 16 lbs so no matter what your skill level maybe you're looking for a first ball for your son or your daughter this is going to be the ball that you want to start with especially if they're young you know they use something very light but what's nice about the twist is that it uses the R16 Pearl cover stock which is actually the same cover stock as the Rhino which we'll talk talk about a little bit more but we're going to talk about what differentiates these two that you might make a decision one way or the other so the twist uses a symmetrical core with a differential of 018 so what is differential and why is it important and we're going to talk about it briefly but we're going to keep this pretty simple and straightforward the bottom line is the more differential you have the more flare potential you have with the bowling ball and thus the more hook potential so we'll talk about differentials on all three of these bowling balls and how they differ and how you might get more performance out of one than the other so with the twist you have a lower differential still going to flare a little bit still going to hook a little bit but for your beginning Bowlers that are looking for a ball and keeping the budget in mind it's going to be a great option for you the core in the twist is a very simple design and is used across the board in 12 through 16 lbs the lighter weight twist in 8 through 11 lb do not use the same core but you still get the same cover stock across across the board and that is the most important part of a reactive bowling ball a ball that's made to hook the nice thing about entry performance bowling balls is that as you get more advanced as a bowler and your average goes up you start building an Arsenal so you have multiple bowling balls in your bag this will actually become your dry Lane bowling ball this will be the something that you use and the lanes get really dry since the hook potential is lower than higher performance bowling balls in the line the twist still fits in your bag as you get better at B bowling now as you move up in the line the next option for performance for your very first reactive bowling ball would be the Rhino series from Brunswick now the Rhino series is also offered in multiple colors but there's one caveat there's actually a solid reactive version of the Rhino in The magenta purple and navy option so the cover stock and the rhinos are actually the same as the twist but what makes these two different is the core the core in the Rhino is a light bulb shaped core core with a little bit more performance and a little bit more differential ah there's that differential word again let's talk about that now the differential in a rhino is 030 whereas a twist it was 018 so what that means is the Rhino core is going to flare a little bit more and give you more hook potential than a Twist so these two bowling balls drilled exactly the same for the exact same bowler the Rhino will out hook the Twist by a little bit not a lot but enough to give you a little bit performance difference between the two the Rhino is only offered in 10 through 16 lb with the core that we talked about only offered in 12 lb on up so once again if you're looking for a ball that's going to be lighter weight like 10 or 11 there's really no performance difference between the two just pick the color you like to get started out and that's going to be your best bet so let's talk about the Rhino with the solid resin cover stock of the R16 and why it might be different than the Pearl versions that are offered as well typically bowling balls with solid cover stocks can traction a little bit better in the lane and create a little bit more hook potential since these balls all come out of the box shiny adding surface roughing it up with sandpaper or a sanding pad can create even more hook potential for you and give you more performance than out of the box and last but not least when it comes to Performance balls that you might pick for your first around is the raw Hammer from Hammer now the raw Hammer gives you even more performance than the twist or the Rhino because it offers a cord that has more differential how much differential are we talking we're talking 038 which is even more than the 030 and the 08 So True Performance for your first bowling ball goes to the raw hammer and there's also three different cover stock options in the Raw Hammer line the raw Hammer hybrid is the the one I have here in front of me but Hammer also offers a pearl version and a solid version all share the same core across the board is offered in 10 through 16 lb and the performance core is offered in 12 lb on up the cover stock on the raw hammers is called Juiced so you have a Juiced Pearl hybrid and solid cover stock once again the solid version The Raw Hammer black is going to give you the most hook potential being a solid cover and actually coming out of the box a little bit more dull this performance comes with a little bit of a premium but not too much more expensive than you would expect to get from a Twist or a rhino and also when you get more advanced the raw Hammer will still fit in your bag and be a performance ball when the lanes get dry well there you have it that's my take on your very first performance ball going from twist Rhino raw hammer and talking about all the options and the differences between the three I hope you learn a little bit and you may be a little bit more informed when going to your pro shop to pick out your first ball I always recommend getting your first ball through a pro shop and getting custom fitted
