Not a very daring talk. I mean, the title reads : "The Dangers of Faith in Progress". As far as I can tell he makes very few and very weak arguments regarding the dangers of this faith. Where he's on stronger footing and spends more time is on the notion that progress in ethics and politics is frail at best. Okay, Mr. Gray, but presumably progress is frail regardless of whether we believe in it, so the title of your talk is just gratuitously bombastic.
