oh man Frost man you know what it is JL and popped up on me and listen this was not planned we've been talking for about 4 years was it four years maybe about doing this right here and um I kept telling them hold up hold up cuz his following is such a big following but he was like man I'm tired of this I'm I'm going to pull up on my man yeah y so he here [Music] basically I sell halow breakfast is sometimes dinner so halow breakfast and lunch brunch and sometimes dinner I use all 100% Halal products my steaks my turkey bacon um my turkey sausage everything is 100% Halal you one of my Hearts what's your favorite thing that you get from you over here honey butter biscuit got to get that honey butter biscuit why not whisk why not rich all man Frost his his all man Frost where did you come up with the all man Frost man slogan okay so all man Frost man came from this was used to go down and I was selling food out the crab right my now 6-year-old was like 3 years old he two years old maybe he just started like running running around the crib while I was cooking right so I used to Hype him up every time I pull a platter out to put on Instagram I used to be like SL Dean SL look what we have here right so then after he started going to daycare I didn't have salahudin to talk to no more so I started talking to myself right and I used to go and I was like what can I do like how can I make this work it was like cuz he was part of the gimmick so like D look what we got here so he be like oh man Frost man what the hell's going on here so me talking to myself and then it turned into like a slogan all man Frost man t-shirts coming soon too no real rap honey butter biscuit why not brisket t-shirts coming real soon y y y this whole office everybody they all order from me down there they've been I've been messing with them for years yep so this is where we at right my little sign now I'm getting the real sign eventually but it's going to be this my daughter designed this right my daughter my second oldest daughter is a um is a cartoonist and a graphic designer so she does all my Logos my t-shirts my uh Frosty lemonade labels all that so she hit this sign when I when I can afford it and get enough money and going get a real sign stretched all the way across you know what I'm saying and this is where we at so we on 5601 AR street right and I'm going to show youall this because some people get it confused with my main store I'm going show you show you the angle on that all right so this is the entrance to Soul by the SE 5601 Art Street same building my entrance is down there the takeout window all right and don't forget when you spend $20 honey butter biscuit I'm sorry when you spend $20 on breakfast you get fre free honey but biscuits so one not risk spend that 20 bring me that money for that bar people can only absorb so much music from you like as far as like hey look at me I rap I rap I rap I'm dope I'm hotter than such and suchu so I started doing cooking videos and pictures and it was just be stuff that I would cook for me and my kids right and um then eventually I did Frost cook TV where I had freeway PD crack sha p uh Smith and Wesson bunch of different rappers over the crib right on on different episodes um Malik B when Malik B was running with me when he was still alive man Allah have mercy on him and um it turned into people wanting to see me cook more and more right so I did more videos right and then people kept pressing me to buy food so I started selling food you know what I mean it was another form of income I realized I can make some money off of it and it started to work y you do a lot for the community too man like Ramadan it's you the whole Community all right so I'm going to tell you how that started right the way how that started I actually started off a friend of mine's named dear he just passed away um so what happened with dear right we went to high school together he was coming to buy food off me this is back in like 2016 and he said Frost you ever think about feeding a homeless um because I I do a homeless I I run a homeless shelter I'm the director so I was like yeah but honestly bro like I can't afford to feed him myself but what I'll do is I'll put on my Instagram and Facebook and ask people if they interested in donating to feed the Homeless so people started doing that right so then after that that first Ramadan that I was feeding the homeless I offer Muslims the chance to feed other fasting Muslims cuz in our religion it's a specific reward for a Muslim who feeds a FAS and Muslim so when you a Muslim and you feed a fasting Muslim you get the reward that Allah gives them for their fast you get their blessings without them losing it so you get your blessings and you get their blessings so people was like yeah I I want to donate to feed Muslims and then also some Muslims can't fast cuz they have health conditions right so you have to feed a certain amount of people when you can't fast as a Muslim so that allowed me to be a go between for people who wanted blessings for people who actually just couldn't fast so yeah so and then it I was doing it every year so it started with me feeding the homeless a lot of people was criticizing me on my Instagram and Tik Tok like yo why you only feeding Muslims there's homeless people out here and it's like yo I've been feeding the the homeless since before um I think even before Instagram like you know what I'm saying so yeah got some of your signature items here all right so we got we got the honey butter biscuits why not risk it of course that's what everybody be coming here for let me try this out let me try this out this thing is Thing feel lovely in the hands keep it real you got me nice just CU I'm right here that's amazing sweet Savory everything breakfast and brunch is all about that thing popping Frost Dam this has like a nice moisture to it you know what I mean well I love it it's two different tastes that it has right yeah when you first get it out the oven it's incredible right but when I sit it right here to keep it hot this is a steamer so what I had to learn I was over I was keeping I had to turn it down sometimes make it too doughy yeah like yo my biscuit was gr was like damn what am I doing so I turn the steamer down to give you that that taste right there that you get this thing is incredible yo is that extra honey Perfect come get you some buy a whole pan of this he brings three pans every day buy a pan have them run back to the crib make more we also got my fish and Gritz signature then I got something called a super surfing Turf right the super surfing Turf is cheesy grits right a big pan see them see them pans up there a big pan in them cheesy grits right it's a big pan in them and the super surf has like a 16 a 14 to 16 oce Hala rib steak um 10 extra large shrimp the big joints the 1620s uh two pieces of nice size fried fish right and a really heavy cheesy omelet so that's the super surf and surf right A lot of people they come out for that and Fish and Grits like I mentioned you know what fish and grits is and then I got the Halal steak egg and cheese on a garlicky buttery Bagel people love that people love that right there they love it so that's I'm going whip up for you I'm going whip up that's it you want to get into that W Frost man hold on I got to I got to get you let us know hold up hold up I got to get you what's your advice for young entrepreneurs how to come up consistency consistency and stop worrying about oh my family no support my friend stop stop with all that see because the whole thing is right if your product is really good your family and friends everybody going to support so the first thing you got to do is you got to perfect your product to the best of your ability right and after that right what you got to do is you got to be consistent see it's been days I only made $50 but guess what at the end of the month when you got five kids and you got bills and you do everything when own single dad and all that listen man all them little $50 $100 and all that stuff add up you got to be consistent man and stop and and you also got to know how to take criticism like if somebody say they don't like your stuff I don't care if it's your t-shirt line if it's your um your food your RS your music whatever yo everything ain't for everybody bro and when you doing stuff for the public you open yourself up to get criticized so be ready for the critic SYM I done had people say crazy stuff about my food I'm talking about bad and then I had people get online and argue with them like you don't know what you talking about about like I had somebody say that my food was hit or miss depending on who was cooking right they said depending on who's in the back I'm the only one that cook so it's like oh bad Frost man you know you just got to just um you just got to just be consistent and you got to be prepared to take criticism and recognize that some people want to tear you down and some people want to make you better like if you notice something didn't go like yesterday I was rushing really bad right I had so many tickets like so many tickets right and I had ran out of grits and then more grits more grits I had to keep making grits right and mind you I'm working by myself right so I was really so I was backed up on time there was a few people waiting and I was like damn I got to get these people out of here right so at the end of the day I was a little self-conscious about the Grits right I called two customers just to make sure that they grits was what I wanted them to be like like what I would have wanted as a customer and so when I did that when the person was like No frost them Johns were straight I was like that I was like that so and these are oldfashioned grips to so when they said that it made me feel better but I didn't assume that yo my food is the best blah blah blah blah blah like you never hear me say that I always try to convince you to buy the food by giving you a nice stupid tricky slogan some presentation a little bit of Comedy but I never say I'm the best because I know with so many different people out out out here doing food that really isn't the best you know what I'm saying it's like like best is based on like um you know what your customer considers is the best well one person's best could be the other person's worse you know what I'm saying I wish I KN you was coming cuz I would have had her hair with her desserts cuz a lot of people ask me can they give me desserts like on consignment and on wholesale whatever and I only use my daughter's desserts you know what I'm saying because she's crazy with it so we're going to have like a daddy daughter big sell Saturday every Saturday now she's graduating by the time youall see this she will have graduated and then y'all be able to get her desserts like on the weekend she'll be here with me such a VIP I can't even show yall who it is y'all going to see in a minut wow y'all going to see in a minute he got the wow steak egg and cheese on a garlicky buttery Bagel cuz I say so go ahead and get into it bro go ahead and get into it this is this is a thing of beauty I don't even know what to do look at this right oh my God oh my God right with you oh my God look at that damn I kind of feel bad for eating this right now I just want to stare at this you know what I'm saying these are the ones like right now this is a takeout spot right but I'm eating inside you know what I mean talking to my man Frost and all that stuff too but this is incredible creation this is this is what you know what I'm saying this you got to eat this at the crib and take off your shoes and all that man yeah yeah that's the thing you can you got to call out yeah you you you you can't e this on on the go this ain't one of them joints right there you can't eat this on the go right y know I love onions too all right first bite we going to eat this part right here damn I wish y'all could see his face y'all y'all going to see the video y'all going to see it bro the way he the way he made this steak I bit into it it got that nice crust that has all the seed seasoning on there it's juicy it's tender you don't need no sauce on top of that he got the onions too this is like a dinner yeah right right and it's only $15 only $15 all right this is the best uh steak egg and cheese breakfast bagel I've ever had and this h this had so much love man Philly love right there this definitely Philly love man this has this has the love this has the struggle this has the pain this has this history this has the story M 2017 Eagle Super Bowl yeah you know what I'm saying AI when he crossed up Jordan This Is that sandwich you know you know what I'm saying damn right wow I'm getting to the cheese this layers to this this layers to this but really it's the steak that um it's the star of this you get know what I mean the steak is the star of the sandwich the steak is steaking you I mean you go to other places they don't use like fresh steak like this it's more like commercialized processed type of steak um but Frost man got it he got the juice now great balance and flavor right here come check them out simple that's the thing too and the thing is uh everything all the ordering happens online just so y'all know can they come up to the window in order no well yeah they can but they going to have to scan the QR code and that actually just it's because it works better for me like this most times I'm working by myself I am looking for help right now so she's looking for help so if y'all yall want a job hit them up and also the greatest pay but you know I'm still building and that's part of the struggle right there you know what I mean but a small kitchen and let's see when they come here yo just if y'all want experience yall want to help build something cuz uh Frost got something special going on here if on that that's a $15 plate that's not no little teeny small no that's a $15 PL he going to feed you you know what I'm saying try the uh the Grits here one thing about me I'm never trying to say I'm not never trying to hold back and most of the time right when the person get that right the cheese is melted a little more cuz they traveled with it already so I purposely take the hot fish like while it's really hot and after I sprinkle the cheese on top and this cheese cooked into I make sure I sit the hot fish while I still sizzling right on you know what I'm saying [Music] going ask when the tell you something about the fish and grits that's special to me right so that's my mom's fried fish with my with my little spin on it with my little tweak on it I grew up loving my mom's fried fish my mom's fried everything is crazy she's a her fried game is just dumb right so my grandma those my grandma grits you know what I mean and before my grandma passed away the last thing that I made her when she was at my house this was in 2015 I had just grabbed the new the 2015 Suburban I was showing her my truck and I had her and my mom come in and eat and that was the last thing I made was fish and grits for her she was soon proud she was like God damn boy these grits is better than mine I was like no chill out chill out no way chill out but yeah I the Grits is from my grandma the fish is from my mom know what I'm saying and just breakfast in general is like a combination of both of them you know what I mean you got something special it's fish and grits with the biscuit brunch would never be the same for me give you great bank for your buck quality food quality seasoning the fish just had Immaculate flavors on here the uh grits it's Savory it's comforting right here you get the biscuit you top it off man it's like it's a beautiful experience right this this small little shop that could and will continue to keep thriving so if y'all want y'all want a taste of this you want to having soon too y'all hear that hook my man's up incredible nothing light about his breakfast and brunch so if you're going to order it make sure you clear about two hours of space ahead of you cuz he going to put you down some people when I got time right when they pull up to get their food and I look at they ticket and I see something crazy I'll be like what they do what they must be off today I'll be like yo you don't got nothing to do later do you and they be like why you say that I'm like bro sometimes they got to find out for themselves man don't even understand what you got sometimes they got to find out for themselves place was excellent um I like I said I've been following um Jack Frost for a long time even before my YouTube stuff like everybody know Frost in the city right you know one of the Philly uh Legends here uh artist too I've been following them uh Philly love you know what I mean it collab he did with pety crack like we just know like you just know Jack Frost he's just one of those artists in the city and I've seen his progress from being an artist to him peppering some of his cooking skills on line when social media hit like 2007 2008 and I've seen his platters they look crazy you know what I mean but now like he's taking that uh Next Step transitioning from artist to foodie so I I bowed down to him in reverence you know what I mean I got deep respect for him for what he means to the city what he means to the food game he's one of the first to cook from the crib selling it out the crib you know what I mean uh beard gang like I've seen all his stuff man this man is a true Hustler who's going to just keep elevating you know what I mean I'm excited to see what he does in the next few years where he's going to take the food game to so if
