For anyone that enjoyed this animation, I strongly recommend Tippet’s recent feature length film, Mad God. I saw it earlier this year at a film festival and was blown away. Apparently, given the time consuming nature of stop motion and the fact that he worked on it largely independently, it was made over the course of more than 30 years, so he actually started working on it not long after this short.
Holy crap, I watched this on VHS easily 100 times between the ages of four and seven, and completely forgot it existed till just now. Can't wait to put this on after work; thanks for posting.
I saw bits of this in a dinosaur vhs I had with Christopher Reeve. I had no idea they were Phil Tippet animated though, that's so cool
What's interesting to me is that doing this in 1985 required a lot of expensive equipment, careful skill, etc - now any kid can whip this up in blender or unreal in a few days and be like "yeah it's dinosaurs chilling."
