thank you for joining us for this teaching purging your house part 1 now here's your host and teacher Perry stone I want to welcome you today to a very special teaching and I believe it's going to be a powerful practical teaching for you and your entire family we have entitled the subject purging your house we're going to be taking you today on a journey of showing you how that the physical body is the temple of God how that your home is a miniature synagogue or a miniature house of God where the peace of God should dwell and how your church is the house of God where the collective body of believers comes together and then we're going to show you how Satan is attempting to disrupt and hinder you personally your family and your church by opening a door of sin and disobedience to God thus giving him an opportunity to move into your life through that open door now I want you to just bear with us as we get into a very heavy deep teaching we're going to be sharing with you the word word studies Jewish history we're going to be sharing with you a large number of personal stories practical stories that I believe are going to be a blessing and a help to you so come on over to the table right now as we begin and if you have your Bible and you would like to follow me in your Bible let's go to 1st Corinthians chapter 3 first reference first Corinthians chapter 3 and verse verses 16 and 17 here's what the word of the Lord says no you're not that no you're not that you are the temple of God and the Spirit of God dwelleth in you If any man defile the temple of God him shall God destroy for the temple of God is holy which temple you are now the second reference that I want to read is found in Luke chapter 11 verses 24 through 26 here's what the Word of God says this is Jesus speaking when the unclean spirit is gone out of a man he walketh through Dry places seeking rest and finding none he saith I will return unto my house from whence I came and when he come cometh he find it that swept and garnished then he goeth and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself and they enter in and dwell there and so the last state of the man is worse than the first now these two scriptures are very very important because in both references it's talking about the human body in one instance it tells us as believers our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit in the other reference it's telling you how that Satan through evil spirits attempts to not only once they have been expelled or removed from a person through the power of God they attempt to try to come back to the house to the same place now you know it's interesting that the word temple is though in first Corinthians chapter 3 verse 16 is the Greek word nails which means the area of the holiest part of the temple where the images were kept in in Greek time in Greek and Roman culture where people would come in to worship where the image was now what that means to you and I is that God's presence dwells in our inward spirit God's presence literally dwells within us on the inside and into our very innermost being into our very the very holiest place and if we can do this I'd like to show you something here that if you look at the human body is a tripart being first Thessalonians 5:23 says the God of peace sanctify you wholly present your body soul and spirit blameless under the coming of the Lord the body soul and spirit is a truck as try part three parts another body is remember this Paul said that your body is the temple so if we go to the time of the temple we find out that there were three courts there was the outer court the inner court and the Holy of Holies of course the Holy of Holies was the inner sanctum it was the place where in the time of Solomon Herod's temple the Lord would dwell he would come down etc now watch this the outer court represents our physical body the inner court represents our soul which is our mind and intellect and the Holy of Holies represents our human spirit and it is in our human spirit where the blessings of God originate it is our human spirit that becomes reborn when we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior it's our human spirit that receives the infusion of the empowering of the Holy Spirit and so just like in the temple days there was a physical building with an outer court inner court and Holy of Holies our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit we have the body the soul and the spirit man now again all the blessings of God enter into our spirit and then then once God gets on the inside of us he begins to affect everything around us some of you watching me right now for an example used to do things that you don't do anymore and you're free can't understand that well it's because your life has been changed but my wife used to sing a song called Jesus on the inside working on the outside oh what a change in my life and that's what happens when you become born-again so in other words and the point that I'd like to make is simply this that the body is the temple of the holy spirit now let's go a step further the home that you live in not just the house but the home the home being the people who live in that house the home your home is to be like a miniature synagogue there are Jewish rabbis that have teachings on this how the synagogue was the place where the people would come together and they would fellowship with God they would learn of his work and you know God told the Hebrew people write my word on the door so that when you come in and you go out you're in you're there with my word teach your children my word in your uprising in your down sitting when you before you go to sleep at night when you get up in the morning teach my words so the the home is to be like a miniature synagogue where the peace of God can dwell you know you work in the world you work with people who are unsaved and people who are lost and the point that I want to make concerning this is that when you come home it should be your your resting place it should be your dwelling place it should be a place where you can experience the peace and the presence of God and that's the way God wants your home to be but the enemy wants us to disrupt it and that's what this study is about number three is your church your church is a house of God you know it's back in the time of Jesus for example there was one temple where all the Jews would go to celebrate the Feast etc but there were many hundreds of synagogues now the local church today now watch this our body is the temple but the local church is the house of God the local church is similar to the synagogue that existed in Christ day the synagogue that's where they went to collect their offerings and it's where they went to learn the Word of God it was there where they went to be ministered to and so your local church is considered to be a house of God now the Greek word for church in the New Testament is ecclesia and the ekklesia back in the in the Greek and Roman culture was a place where all the elders met together in the city near the city gate or a certain specific area to discuss the matters concerning the city and the community so the ECLA see being the church is the place where the body of Christ comes together to discuss the things of God so let's break this down again there are three basic dwelling places of God one is your physical body secondly should be your home where you and your family dwell and number three should be the house of God these are three places where the presence and the peace of God should dwell now I want you I want you to keep that in mind because what we're going to talk about when we talk about purging the house is the following you have your physical body you have your natural home and you have the Church purging your body means to cleanse yourself from the filthiness of the flesh and spirit perfecting holiness in the sight of God that's what we're going to be dealing with number two purging your house what does it mean purging your house means removing your physical home where you dwell of idols and unclean things we're going to talk about that later on number three dealing with purging the church we have to deal with unforgiveness bitterness and strife and attitudes that are in the body of the local church in order for the church to be purged now if we can purge our self purged our home and purge our church perfecting holiness in the sight of God you know what's going to happen there's gonna be this great peace that's going to settle over the people of God and over you individually there's going to be a great anointing that's going to be released if we do these things well let's begin with our actual study on purging the house and show you where we get the scriptures from that deal with purging the house go with me to Leviticus chapter 14 if you want to follow me and you're there Leviticus chapter 14 and look with me verses 30 for 30 really we're going to read several verses but Leviticus chapter 14 we're gonna read about four verses from that chapter I'm going to read these to you and then I'm gonna explain to you what this is all about so if you have your Bible Leviticus chapter 14 35 and he that oneth the house and this is the physical house shall come and tell the priest say it seemeth to me that there that there as it were a plague there is as it were a plague in the house Leviticus 14 37 reads and he shall look on the plague and behold if the plague be in the walls of the house with hallow streaks greenish or reddish witches in sight are lower than the walls Leviticus 14 13 hours keeping over some verses here but I want you to just follow me now then the priest shall command if they take away the stones in which the plague is and that they cast them in an unclean place without the city now Leviticus 1441 and he shall cause the house to be scraped with within roundabout and they shall pour out the dust that they scrape without the city in an unclean place all right now here's what I want to share with you about this passage of Scripture this is a passage of Scripture that deals with when the children of Israel would come back into the Holy Land now let's let's go through this study and explain this right now the children of Israel were in Egyptian bondage they were in the land of Egypt and they were there as you know according the Bible for about 400 years God told them that he was going to bring them out and when he brought them out he would bring them into a land and they would actually inherit homes that they did not build vineyards that they did not plant and they would be given property in other words God was gonna transfer the property that originally belonged to Abraham back to them and of course he did that in the time of Joshua when Joshua brought the children of Israel and conquered Jericho etc so when they came into the Promised Land here's what was happening the the amorite the Canaanites the Moabites and all these other tribes that had taken possession of the promised land during the four hundred years that Israel was in Egyptian bondage they had they were they were very heavily involved in idol worship so when the children of Israel came out of Egypt word had spread that they took the gold and silver out of Egypt and when they came into the Promised Land there was a great fear among some of the Canaanites and some of the people there that the children of Israel were going to come in and just take everything that they had so what they did was this they took their gold and silver idols which to the Canaanites and the ammonites were very important to them because these were not just statues they were their gods and they would take the stone now this is not the same thing here but they would take stone and they would remove the stone they would hide the idol or the gods somewhere near the bottom part of the foundation of the floor in the floor near the wall and then they would cover it back up so in other words what they believe was going to happen apparently is they believe that the Israelites were going to invade the land and then they these amirite Samoa bites Canaanites could reorganize and attack Israel and defeat him and they would get there back so therefore their money or their idols or whatever they had hidden would be safe inside their house you know we know this is what they did because archeologists while excavating in Israel always discover miniature idols and they always discover gold and silver coins sometimes in the floor of the home sometimes in the ruins of the wall etc so we know this is something that they actually did well when the children of Israel would come into that that home of that house that they had done actually the house that they had conquered and inherited because of their Wars of the Promised Land they would be living in there for a while and all of a sudden something very weird would happen on the wall on the on the wall maybe you usually would be at the baseboard somewhere but on the wall on the stones would come like a leprosy it would be like a some kind of a mildew that would begin to break out but it would have a color to it it would have a greenish color or it would have a reddish color to it sort of a yellowish green and and these two colors would be seen on the wall now when this happened God knew that there was something in that wall something hidden and it was assigned to the Hebrews that there was something hidden in the wall many times that's why the priests had to go in to investigate to see if there was any idols or anything hidden in that wall now if there had been iniquity involved in that house many times the wall would begin to streak as well so this is what happened and so that Hebrew people had to have a procedure which God gave them to purge their house they had to have a procedure in which they could purify or cleanse their house and so that's what we're going to talk about here now here's the things that they did no I want you to watch this very carefully they had to first of all here's the five phase process of what the priests had to do number one is the priests had to examine the physical evidence that were that was on the wall in other words the priest would go to the wall he would simply look to see if these particular colors of the greenish or the reddish streaks were on the wall if they were then he had to wait seven days to see if that had spread on the wall if it was just in that one particular area now if it had spread they had to do the following they had to scrape the house first of all to try to remove that that leprosy and then if it returned and it began to spread it was then called a fretting leprosy and if it was a fretting leper said they had to remove the stones and if that did not work they finally had to remove the entire structure of the house think about this and rebuild the house from the very very beginning rebuild it from the very very very beginning now I'm gonna read something to you that's in the notes here's what it says the streaks were lower than the wall meaning they were coming from the foundation of the house the foundation is where things could be hidden for example money or idols or things of this nature the worst case was that they had to rebuild from the very foundation of the house and start anew and and this was in the house where it not only would affect the the building but it could affect them personally and just caused great difficulty for the home and the entire family if they did not deal with this leprosy and so that's basically why the leprosy broke out in the house because it was a house which had previously been lived in by heathen people a Marantz Moabites Canaanites it was a house in which idol worship had been very strong in that house it was a house in which perhaps fornication or adultery had occurred because the Canaanites and the ammonites were very very fleshly people they were very very ruled by their flesh and ruled by idolatry and controlled by all sorts of spirits wicked spirits and evil spirits that were connected to their idol worship so this physical building where the Israelites would go in to take had to be examined in detail to see if there was anything in the house that could cause a physical problem not only for the house itself but for the inhabitants of the house now notice this the walls of the house represented protection from outside enemies your house should have a protection from God but sin can open up the door let me say that again sin can open up the door of the enemy into your life let me give you a brief example here this is something I've just thought about and I want to share this with you if I may it concerns that it concerns the walls of Jericho I want to tell you a story about the walls of Jericho very briefly and and and and share something with you here that's very very very important several years ago when we were in Israel we went to Jericho the ruins of Jericho which have been excavated now for quite some time and we noticed something that they had they had cut down a brand new section exposing some of the brick of the city and we exposed that brick of the city they my tour guide Gideon Shore began to show me something he began to show me that in the wall of Jericho right there on the side there was a jar which had been you could see half of the jar exposed and it was into the wall itself so I asked kidding why was there a jar that was in the wall and he said well it's interesting when the archaeologists excavated here they found what appeared to be the bones of a baby the bones of a child and I said what on earth was there the bones of a small baby inside this jar four and Gideon sure told me he says it appears that the Canaanites were very superstitious people and they believe that if they sacrificed a baby or gave a baby up to their God and put it in the wall of the city that that would protect the wall of the city from the enemies now stop and think about what I've just told you for just a moment because when Joshua conquered the city of Jericho how did he conquer the city he conquered the city of Jericho by taking the city at the wall in other words the walls of Jericho fell they were about if I counted correctly one time there are about 31 Canaanite cities that existed back in the time of Joshua and Jericho was the only one that fell because of the wall the walls of Jericho fell I believe it was God's judgment on the wall itself because of listen now what was hidden inside the wall innocent blood had been shed and the the the infant or the small thing or the bones of the child were hidden inside the wall now I'm sharing that with you to tell you that in your own life there can be things hidden in your life that God wants to remove out of your life there are individual things you see the Bible said let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit perfecting holiness in the sight of God there are things that could be in your personal private life and some of these things are going to be as we start plowing into this you're going to understand the importance of this teaching they have to be removed to keep the enemy on the outside your your home where you dwell there could be things in your home right now things that maybe you're not even aware of that could actually listen to this tract spirits into your house actually open the door for an attack of the enemy to come against your house and as Israel listened carefully as Israel had to purge the house as the priest would go in and there and this is just a piece of plaster here and the walls back in that day by the way were made out of stone and then they would put plaster over top of it many times they would do a motif or a painting this is just one we bought in a store this is this is not from Israel but they were doing motif for a painting like this on it was very beautiful but the priest would go into this plaster and if he saw this streaking with red or greenish streaks he knew there was a problem he knew there was some form of a leprosy that was in that house and and I'm gonna give you the procedure of what they did and this procedure of what the priests did in purging the house in Israel is the same procedure you and I have to go through today in order to experience a purging in our life and a purging in our house now notice this on this on this wall or on this plaster we're streaks that represented leprosy or were leper leprosy and the priests had to deal with the leprosy now you know in the Bible let me say this to you in the Bible leprosy is a type of sin in other words when you read the Bible and you read about leprosy there's three things that leprosy does which are the three things that send us number one leprosy begins very small but grows very fast sin begins as a small thing but then it begins to grow very fast number two leprosy eventually destroys the person in other words it eats away at the hands the fingers the nose whatever it till it finally destroys them sin the wages of sin is death and so if a person becomes heavily involved in sin just like leprosy it eventually destroys them may not do it immediately but it will eventually number three leprosy separates you from people you love and people that get involved with sin many time they look many times they lose their home they lose their wife or husband they lose their family they lose their church friends they lose people that really that they love that they should be concerned about and so leprosy does three things starts out small becomes great leprosy eventually destroys the person and eventually separates you from people you love you know back in the old Old Testament New Testament if you were a leper you couldn't even be near your family members if you were a leper and you had a loved one that was coming to visit you they couldn't get anywhere near you I think it's written probably in the town mood but it's in Jewish writings where if a leper is looking at a family member and the wind is blowing from the back of the leper toward the person they have to be 300 paces at least away from the leper if the wind is blowing from the person who is clean who doesn't have leprosy toward the person that's the leper you've got to be like a hundred paces away and so it was you know once you had leprosy if you remember King Uzziah came down with leprosy and the Bible said they put him in a several house where he lived until the day he died and so when you had leprosy in the in the Bible time I mean you were separated immediately from your family and from your loved ones and so let's look let's look at this for a moment because I want to share this with you how does this speak to us today in other words how how do we today say to ourself now this isn't this is something that happened in the Old Testament this is something that happened involving Israel how does it speak to me today of purging my house in the same way that the Hebrew people did how is this practical our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit we must remove from within us the things that could cause us to fail we must lay aside every weight and the sin that does so easily beset us and we must cleanse ourself a chord in the Bible from all filthiness of the flesh and of the spirit so here's what I'm going to do I'm going to give you the procedure of what the priest did in the Old Testament time the procedure and from this procedure we're going to share it with you ladies and gentlemen what the priest did that's applicable for us today let's begin doing that right now as we go to the Word of God together now here's the first thing that the priest did I want to share this with you the first thing that the priest did was he looked at the stones at the wall he came up to the wall and he began to examine the stones on the wall now how does that have to do with us today well let me explain to you how it has to do with us today first Peter 2 and 5 says this it says that we are lively stones built upon a spiritual house do you remember when the people were praising the Lord at the ethnic near the eastern gate and the Pharisees got all upset and said tell them to be quiet and Jesus said if they don't pray the stones will cry out the rocks will cry out and eventually begin to praise me well guess what happened those people that hailed him and said Hosanna Hosanna were the same people who said crucify him so Jesus began to raise up some stones he went to the Gentile nations and began to raise up a people for his name there was prophesied in the Old Testament that would praise him and glorify him and so we are lively stones built upon a spiritual house the first thing the priest did when he examined the house was to examine the individual stones and he would look at those stones and he would examine them just to see if there was there was a certain type of dust a certain type of fretting leprosy that had appeared on that stone now how is that practical for you and I today I want to tell you how it's practical for you and I today did you know that if we go back to the book of Genesis and we see how that man was created we discovered by reading the Bible Genesis chapter 2 that man is formed from the dust of the earth man is formed actually from the dust of the ground now that's interesting because this flesh nature of us from dust we came to dusty we shall return this flesh nature that we are dwelling in is made of dust now when the serpent who is Satan was cursed to crawl on its belly we know that Satan used a literal serpent in the garden but when the serpent was cursed to its belly the Lord says something that's very important he says in Genesis chapter 3 - the serpent on your belly you will go you're cursed and dust you shall eat now I don't know if you're aware of this or not but let's take the the rattlesnake that lives here in Tennessee not my favorite subject to be honest with you but the rattlesnake has a very small brain and a rattlesnake or all snakes have very poor eyesight but if you've ever noticed if you ever go to a to a zoo or a place where there are some snakes in a cage you always see the little tongue sticking out constantly it's got its tongue out why does it do that because what a serpent does is it reads the amount of deaths that is in the area like if an animal is coming through or crawling through or a person we stirred up dust because of the dry leaves and so on and that snake its eyesight is so poor it really cannot tell what's in front of it unless it gets very close so what it does is it reads the amount of dust in the area to determine how large that person is or that thing is that's approaching it so a serpent literally eats dust but let's look at that from a spiritual application Satan thrives off of the dust watch this which is our flesh our flesh nature our old way of thinking our carnal ways man came from the dust and to dust he shall return but the serpent eats dust our fleshly man our outward body consists of dust if you don't believe that then a you know watch a video sometime where they have found a body that has been decayed and that decayed body has literally gone totally back to dust and so Satan eats dust the serpent eats the dust of the earth and so this is something that you've got to get a little bit of a revelation on the stone I am a lively stone you are a lively stone and on the house our body the temple of the Holy Spirit the enemy tries to bring ready streaks and green streaks you know we'll say something like this will say he has a red-hot temper you know red can be anger green can be envy green can be jealousy so what the enemy tries to do is bring these things which it works of the flesh into our life he tries to actually bring things into us into our life into our spirit knowing that these stones which are created to praise God will be affected by the things that are happening on the inside of us now sometimes listen to me very carefully sometimes it takes a person from the outside coming in and looking at us and examining us and saying you have a red streak you have a green streak you have anger you have jealousy you have this particular problem and I want to I want to read to you what the works of the flesh are and then you'll understand this this is found in Galatians chapter 5 19 through 21 follow me here now the works of the flesh are manifest which are these adultery fornication uncleanness lasciviousness idolatry witchcraft variance emulations wrath strife seditions heresies envyings murders drunkenness and reveling s-- now Galatians 5:19 through 21 deals with the works of the flesh all these that we have just listed all these things that we have just given you from Galatians 5 our works of the flesh meaning these are things that Satan will literally do his best to try to use to get into your life and again sometimes it takes somebody from the outside examining the stone to say you know I'm Perry stone but I'm talking about stones we her life these stones built upon the spiritual house here but it takes somebody on the outside to come in and say I see a streak I see a problem and so the first thing they have to do is examine the stones now watch this carefully if that stone has something wrong with it then what they have to do is remove the stone now remember we are a lively stones built upon a spiritual house keep that in mind I'm using this to try to show you how all of this from Israel's time fits into the pattern of today now follow very carefully while I share this with you sometimes there were other stones other people that we have to remove from our life who are creating a problem for us we cannot allow certain things into our home now doesn't mean that you're better than somebody else you know when you try to separate yourself from someone who's maybe very fleshly and very carnal they'll say something like this well you holier them now who do you think you are uau I miss goody-two-shoes and they trying to condemn you but if a person that you're associated with is pulling you down and a person that you know is is doing things to literally distract you and to hinder you and your walk with God watch now sometimes you've got to remove that stone from the portion of the house now we're not talking about splitting up your family we're not talking about leaving your husband just because he disagrees with you that's not what we're talking about but we're talking about this stones can represent people and people can corrupt you wrong people can corrupt you I've often said that people will either do one or two things in your life they were either lever withdrawal or they will leave some form of a deposit of faith and joy in your life and a good example is the 10 spies when they went to take the promised land ten spies said we can't do this we can't do it oh god what are we going to do and then to believe God and the Bible said that Joshua and Caleb had another spirit and God allowed them to experience the blessing of inheriting the the promised land forty years later he allowed to live very long to enjoy the promised land because they had another spirit to trust God and to believe God and so there are times that people can actually come into your life and it's not you it's not you that's producing the streaks it's not you that's producing the works of the flesh but people around you can be so full of the works of the flesh that if you begin to get in with them if you begin to fellowship with them you know the Bible said be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers what Fellowship has light with darkness then what happens is they begin to pull you down they begin to pull you aside you know I'm thinking right now and I know this is a probably doesn't fit in right here but I want to say this while it's on my mind and that is that that many times people today are involved heavily in the internet they're heavily involved in the computer you know the computer chat rooms they call it and I know a local church pastor who told me that he had lost fine five families in his church were going through a divorce right now because of men or women in some cases getting in chat rooms talking with people of the opposite sex they get into conversations they couldn't get into and that's what we're talking about we're talking about how leprosy gets in your house and how other people can actually influence you so that's another thing sometimes watch carefully now we have two separate or we have to remove ourselves from individuals who could be detrimental to us spiritually detrimental to our walk with God now here's the third thing that the priest did number three the priest if the streaks continued the priest had to remove the house itself he had to literally rebuild the entire house go all the way down to the foundation in order to rebuild the entire house now I don't know if you're aware of this or not but some of you that have been very heavily involved in sin and some of you that have been very heavily involved in iniquity in your life and you've been very heavily involved in disobeying God when you come to the Lord Jesus Christ sometimes God what he does is he actually rebuilds your entire house in other words God takes everything that's old the old house and tears it down and recreates a brand new house a brand new temple and a brand new structure and sometimes when you've been involved heavily with disobedience or sin or iniquity sometimes what God has to do is come in and just take the whole thing everything about your life everything you've known every person you've been familiar with and sometimes God has to literally change your life and change your heart to the point that he starts all over again and he starts anew some of us who've been raised in church you know Pete Church folks just come in and they kind of repent well praise God I repent I'm sorry Lord and it's done but some of some other folks who've been in the rough man I'm talking about diamonds in the rough some of the people who are out there have been heavily I'm talking about drug dealers and prostitution and ex-strippers sometimes when you accept Christ God has to come in and just take the house and what I'm talking about this all your friends all your connections everything you've known separate you from it and start building on a brand new foundation now can you see what I'm saying here can you see and I made a note here and I want to say this the way that I've written on written on this note you will learn that the procedure of purging a house in Israel is different than the way we do it today but the pattern of how they did it is the same let me go over it again one more time kind of summing this up here's what the priest would do if if they found red or green leprosy on the house they would come in to examine it and they would scrape it off secondly if it continued they would remove that stone and replace it number three if it really had spread throughout the house they would tear down the house and rebuild it here's what that means to you and I number one we are stones lively stones there for the works of the flesh tries to get on us and if they if it gets on us we have to scrape it off we have to cleanse ourselves from filthiness of the flesh and spirit number two if it continues to spread we have to examine ourselves to see are there people that were involved with that's causing us to do things that we should not do if so they have to be removed we have to separate ourselves from them just just say hey I'm sorry I can't I can't do that anymore number three if it is affected the entire house the house has to be totally rebuilt in other words you start out with your foundation and you redo everything all over again you start out a new if any man is in Christ he's a new creation old things are passed away behold all things are become new so we see now how that this purging the house in the time of Israel is very practical for you and I today now let me share with you what they used in order to purge the house and you talk about a pattern brother let me show let me share this with you all right now let's go over those steps again you've got to remove the leprosy rebuild the house and restore it with new material let me give you that again you've got to remove the leprosy that means lay aside every weight and the sin that does so easily beset you you've got to rebuild the house which means to renew your mind and renew your thoughts in Christ and you've got to restore it with new material which are new friends new people fresh insight into God's Word now the substances that were used to clean the house in Leviticus chapter 14 or thought were the following number one they used blood number two they used water number three they used hyssop and they also use scarlet now actually there was three substances but I'm going to make scarlet a fourth one alright now it's interesting that they used a scarlet color some kind of a scarlet colored cloth in cleansing this because scarlet was a color that was used on the thread the eighteen inch thread about eighteen inches I should say on the day of atonement when the priest brought the two goats before him and on the day of atonement and he tied a red thread around the neck of one go and a red thread around the horn of another goat the red thread story deals with Redemption you know Rahab put a scarlet thread in her window and God supernaturally protected her so it's really interesting that scarlet is used here but let me give you the pattern the procedure of purging a house it's the same pattern what they did in the Old Testament is the same pattern that believers do today in order to purify themselves or purify their that there's their personal private life in the presence of God number one is they use blood the first thing you have to understand about cleansing yourself is you cannot cleanse yourself by taking a bath somewhere or jumping into a swimming pool the Bible said we have to cleanse ourselves through the redemptive blood of Jesus Christ the term using the Bible is washed in the blood are you washed in the blood in the in that soul cleanse and blood of the land are your garments spotless are they lot of snow are you washed in the blood of the Lamb and so the first thing you encounter when you go through any kind of a purification process is the blood of Jesus Christ but love about right to you that you send up but if we sin we have an advocate with the father even the Lord Jesus Christ without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins who by his own blood redeemed us so in other words when I come to the Lord Jesus Christ I say oh God by the precious blood of Jesus I'm asking you to cleanse me from any any unclean thing in my mind my body my spirit that's the first procedure now the second procedure is the Bible says that they used running water or they used they wash to the stones with water to try to remove the streaks or the leprosy now here's what's important about that there is there are scriptures that talk about the washing of the water of the word of God and so the washing of the water of the word of God is renewing our mind in the word it's to take the Word of God not just what I'm reading on a page but to take it and let the Holy Spirit quicken to me what I'm reading to where it becomes a living thing in my spirit now the Greek word is Rhema word it becomes a live word or Rhema word a quickened word in my spirit and so that's the second procedure that you have to do once you've been washed in the blood is to renew your mind by the washing of the water of the word and then the Scarlet thread and hyssop to me represents the power of the Covenant when Rahab in the Book of Joshua put a red thread in the window it protected her in her tire her and her entire family as long as they remained in the house when the walls of Jericho fell by the way Rahab's house was on the wall that's the phenomenal thing to me her house was on the wall and when the walls fell it didn't affect her house that would say super natural miracle of God so the point is before we can help somebody before we can deal with our own house before we can deal with where we dwell do you know what we have to do we have to first deal with our selves we have to look inwardly do I have any bitterness do I have any strife do I have any contention do I have any any of unforgiveness in my life well I've got to deal with that first in order to watch this to shut the door on the enemy because there are certain things as we know that can open the door to the enemy which brings us now off of the subject of purging body and your mind and your spirit you know cleansing yourself from sin by the blood of Jesus we renewing your mind by the Word of God understanding and walking into covenant promises reading the Bible moving off of that now talking about your home your physical home or house of where you dwell I like to use the word home and sometimes I'll use it interchangeably you know the house is actually just just the building the home is actually what is on the inside the people who live there I found found out you know this is just a little interesting story here but for many many years we would go to my grandparents house in West Virginia for Christmas that my brothers behind the camera that you're watching right now he's familiar with this and I guess for 30-some years well over thirty years we constantly were at grandma and granddad baby's house in West Virginia at age 83 granddad baver went on to be with the Lord and we went back to the house the actual house after he passed away and even grandma commented to me she says it's the strangest thing it's the same building but it's not the same it's not the same without granddad being there and we've talked about that with her and I remember being in West Virginia one time with her and we just kind of were crying together and she says you know it feels different and it really does because your your home is not a home because of what kind of house you live in your home is not a home because your house is expensive and fancy and beautiful it's the people who live there that make the home it's the spirit that dwells there that makes the home I mean you can have a house will not have a home you can have this enormous you know 1 million dollar home or five hundred thousand dollar home you know with a boat in the car and the lake in the backyard but if the right spirit is not in that place it'll be one miserable place to come home from work to and I believe got what God wants is he wants his people to be able when they leave work let's say they work a secular job to be able to walk into that place and know that they're walking into a place of peace know that they're walking into a place where there's joy know knowing that that place is protected by the Lord that once they walk inside that building the hand of God is there and what happens on the outside is not going to affect them and this is where my burden is this is where the burden of my art and of my spirit is and this is what I've discovered just by reading the scripture I've discovered that it is possible for people to have cursed things in their home now I want to read just a reference here to show you this from Joshua chapter 6 verses 17 and 18 and this is when let me before I read that let me share this with you this is when Joshua and the children of Israel across the Jordan River and they were about to conquer their first city which was the city of Jericho now the conquest of Jericho fell between Passover and the feast of firstfruits two great feast in Israel and during firstfruits it's where you presented the firstfruits of the ground to the Lord so since Jericho was the first city they conquered it was a first fruit city meaning that when they conquered it everything in the city was to go to the Treasury of the Lord in the tabernacle of the Lord and that was the law and the the the the the curse was if you don't obey God and bring everything the firstfruits see there were probably thirty other cities that Israel conquered and God never said to them bring what you conquered the goods into the treasury of the Lord he allowed Israel to keep those things but this was the first fruits because God gets the top the cream the tenth he gets the best lamb the best friend the best Bowl etc so let me read Joshua chapter 6 verses 17 and 18 right now God says and the cities shall be accursed and ye in any wise keep yourself from the accursed thing lest you make yourselves a cursed when you take of the accursed thing and make the camp of Israel a curse and trouble it now right there is it right there I've just read to you an important scripture where if they kept back any gold or silver or any possessions that they were going to be a cursed by God and we know what happened we know that I call it the akin factor akin was a man that lived in in Israel that was a part of the camp in Joshua chapter 7 akin decided he was going to keep some gold and silver and a babylonian garment and bury and hide and come back later after the battle and get it and here's what happened the children of Israel went to their next city which was the city of I and when they got there they were defeated by their enemies Joshua seven verses one through five and Joshua was so upset he said God I thought that you told us that you were going to give us the victory you promised us that when we came to the promised land that no enemy would stand before us all the days of our life and yet God here we are right now and we're defeated by our enemies and God said to Joshua get up off your face I want to talk to you it's not it's not me my promises are real my promises are still valid the Lord said to Joshua but he said it's somebody in the camp that is totally completely disobeyed me now you know 10 spies came into Israel and with a report of unbelief kept the children of Israel from taking the promised land and here is one man same kind of example who kept back some gold and silver in a garment or some gold in a garment Babylonian garment and this one man's sin in the camp disobeying God created havoc in the entire camp and what I want to share with you is simply this I believe and I'm talking now in a very practical level that there are things that people can bring in their home that can bring the disfavor of the Holy Spirit it can grieve the Holy Spirit vex the Holy Spirit and it can actually in some instances bring the disfavor of God now what I'd like to do is share this with you there are some things that people bring in their home that they buy overseas that may have been used in idol worship I'm going to give you a couple bizarre stories on that in a moment there are things that can be religious items from other nations which can possibly attract spirits and there are also things that can stir the flesh and open the door to the serpent who wants to eat dust who wants to thrive on the flesh you know if a snake eats dust and he uses dust to read what is happening around him Satan will use the flesh Satan feeds off of the flesh Satan becomes strong through the power of the flesh you know this is this is coming to me right now I've got to share this with you but several years ago I was in a place of Union South Carolina and there was a Jewish man that came to the revival where I was ministering that night and he shared a story with me he'd been involved in the New Age movement very heavily in the in California and a long story that I won't get into details with but he did tell me this one thing that I remember he said when I was living in California Southern California he said I saw demons I didn't know they were demons he said I just thought there was good spirits and bad spirits no one had told me they were demons because I went to a New Age Church and he said they look like large gorillas he said I have no other way to I was describing them to you that almost like an ape of some come but they were just large and kind of deformed and he said when I moved to the Bible Belt witches Union South Carolina where most people go to church I saw demons again and they were like little chimpanzees and sometimes you could actually he said I would see him on people's shoulder now this man if you heard the entire story you would know this is not some kind of thing he's making up I mean he's a computer genius that works for a large corporation so it's not somebody just come on off the street trying to make some story to impress a preacher and when I've told this before there have been people who have been involved in Satanism who have come out of it who told me they said that man told you absolute correct information when he told you that in fact Bob Larson had a man on radio several years ago who is almost identically talking about how when he saw spirits and this is the statement he made the statement that I'm going to tell you so I said to this man I said why do you think that demons in some cities are larger in physics I mean not physical that's not the word because it's not a physical body to spiritual body but if you were to see them they would look larger then let's say a community where the Bible built is in other words why in California were they so large in the city where you lived in you go to a small town where they all go to church the demons appeared to be smaller and here's what he told me he said because evil spirits feed off of iniquity I'm gonna say that again evil spirits feed off of iniquity in other words just like you when you eat you can become physically large by eating well demon spirits feed off of sin in other words the more iniquity the more fleshly sin that's there they can feed off of that and so this is how this explains to me why some spirits have more authority than others you know Jesus was casting out an epileptic spirit from a boy in mark 9 and he said this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting there are certain kinds of spirits demonic spirits that are stronger than others and I believe anytime now I want you to hear this very carefully I believe anytime that the works of the flesh are involved extremely heavily involved you're going to have more demonic activity with the works of the flesh either idolatry which is the worshipping of idols either that will attract spirits very heavy or works the flesh will attract spirits very heavy for example if someone commits adultery they create a soul tie with that person and that same spirit the spirit that's on that person can come on the other person and that's a known fact because people have experienced that throughout the years now I want to share with you some things that can be in your house that literally can be detrimental to you and what I want to do is give you about eight things in the time we have left in this first hour now I want to share with you what I believe to be our I think I have a list here of eight things that can open the door to spirits and I'm going to try to tell you what I personally believe from experience of 23 years of preaching and from the Word of God combined what type of spirits this bring brings in number one is pornography pornography in your home can open up the door to a seducing spirit a seducing spirit is a spirit that draws you away from the truth and you'll find out that a lot of times pornography leads people into illicit relations with other people of the opposite sex and the sit open ZUP a door to a seducing spirit and then the person loses their marriage their home and their family secondly these are things I believe again that can bring an accursed situation into your home cultic games certain video games certain types of games for example the Ouija board I even thought about going in and to a store down here and buying a Ouija board just to show people that have never seen one what they were like and show you how they worked the demonic power and I thought no I don't want the accursed thing even in this studio even though I'd burn it and break it after I got through with it most of you do know what I'm talking about here and we may even have a clip or something of a Ouija board that we can show you but these types of boards can open up the door to a familiar spirit here's why I say a familiar spirit because if you read the Old Testament you'll discover that a familiar spirit is a spirit that's always connected either witch with witchcraft or the occult witchcraft fortune-telling stargazing always a familiar spirit is connected to that because if familiar spirit is a spirit that knows things about the few it knows about future plans and that's why a familiar spirit works through the Ouija board you have this little triangular piece that has a circle in the middle and you know when you go overseas and you begin to look at all the idols they have many of the idols will have a hole in them in the back or in the belly and that's where the demon goes into the spirit goes into that little hole or that little opening now I don't want to get too heavy on you here I really don't but when when when people die when they physically die everybody that I've ever seen dies with their mouth open I mean wide wide open and I don't have time to really get into this I'm opening up a door for a subject here that's not a part of my notes but I believe there's evidence that the human spirit enters and exits out of that area because the Bible said the spirit of a man is the candle of the Lord searching all the inward parts of the belly and the human spirit at death exits and enters that way the reason I say that is because I have seen I don't have these pictures available but I have seen pictures of satanic seances in which a photographer took a picture and there would be something coming out of somebody's mouth it would be a demonic spirit so demons can enter and exit through the area of the mouth and that's a whole nother teaching there so because they exit through the mouth which is an opening many times in idols they enter and exit through that hole because you know when a demon goes into a person for example it goes into the person's let's say it into the person's mouth and comes into their spirit to possess them which is the inward part of the the inward man the spirit man and when it's cast out many times it exits out of that way and and there have been people that have I know of I haven't seen this very often who exercise spirits or expelled spirits evil spirits out of people and the spirit would come through the mountain my grandfather a prime example who now has gone on to be with the Lord pop up stone my dad's dad had a complete total nervous breakdown here he at that time probably wasn't well he wasn't serving the Lord but he had a complete breakdown and when my dad finally prayed for him after three days of fasting my granddad told my father later he said Fred when you prayed for me I saw seven men come out of my mouth shaking their fist at you cursing you well actually those are seven spirits you know I read earlier in Luke's Gospel or talks about seven other spirits more wicked in themselves entering and dwelling there and so they exit and enter that way so the reason I'm sharing that with you is in the Ouija board there's a little triangular piece in it it's a glass and you see you're supposed to read the letters through that well that triangular piece is there for a purpose because that's where the demonic spirit comes and it's all connected to the inner entering into the hollow place and well you know that's if you want me to do some teaching on just let's say heavy spirit warfare as it relates to demonic activity just email me or write me or something and we'll put together something for you that's a little deeper I don't like to necessarily just generally talk about it because if people have never experienced demonic power demonic activity demon-possessed people well they think you're off on some kind of a weird deepen and a very weird tangent if you don't believe in demons go to Haiti and watch a few witch doctors voodoo doctors go to Africa you know they're levitating their eyes are big they're eating fire okay there are some demon-possessed people in the world today and I think most of you understand and know that so a cultic games can open up the door to evil spirits number three illegal drugs and we're not talking about medicine or medication here we're talking about illegal drugs pop cocaine drugs that brings her loose that bring drugs that bring hallucinations or severe mood changes can open up a spirit of pharmakeia pharmakeia spirit now what in the world is that well in the Bible it says that men repented not of their sorceries and the greek word there is pharmakeia from Akaya pharmakeia i'm not sure exactly the how you pronounce the last part of it but it's it's a spirit that is connected to sorcery but it's also connected to drugs it's where we get the English word pharmacy from pharmacy comes from that Greek word and it is a spirit that controls people and you know when people become possessed by a demonic spirit for example it will drive them to do certain things that they normally would not do so this kind of spirit this type of spirit is definitely a demonic spirit there are should I say illegal drugs are definitely something that can open up the door to a demonic spirit number four is alcohol beer and whiskey and again there's people out there to think well there's nothing to that nothing wrong with a little beer every now and then I heard Joyce Meyer say this I hope this doesn't offend you but talk to Joyce if it does but she was talking about how people are always saying you know well I watched this and it it used God's name in vain in the video but you know that didn't hurt anybody I just ignored it and well I drink a little bit you know and it it doesn't hurt you blah blah blah I always remind people the alcoholic became the alcoholic not because he's he went to a bar the first time and drank you know 40 beers he became my alcoholic because he drank the first one and you have to shun the very appearance of evil but Joyce Meyer said that she said that would be like someone taking dog manure she she here's another word we take dog manure and put it in brownies mix up the brownie mix and serve it to you and say well you know I just thought I'd tell you before you eat that brownie it's got some dog manure in it well why'd you do that for well it's not gonna hurt you a little bit of dog knew never hurt anybody and she hears that as an illustration for people who say well you know a little wine a little whiskey doesn't hurt anybody I have known of since 1948 five well-known ministers who became total complete alcoholics lost their ministry lost their integrity all because somebody told them to take a little toddy for the body in the evening to help him rest so personally I'm what you call a teetotaler which means totally avoid the stuff totally stay away from it because it does bring pain it brings mood changes you know when a person becomes dependent on taking that drink what happens when they really get down they really get depressed they really have problems well they start drinking more and more and more and this story has been repeated so I believe we can open up a spirit of alcoholism is there a spirit I have had two times in my ministry where I've cast demonic spirits out of people who were total complete alcoholics and I mean literally what they got delivered instantly about the power of God so we can open up number five printed materials certain certain books and magazines can affect your thoughts and create unclean spirits opening the door for unclean spirits to attack you now it doesn't necessarily mean if you're a believer you're going to suddenly be possessed by these things it means you're going to be mentally oppressed and mentally vexed by these spirits sexual perversion rape incest and homosexuality according Leviticus 18 can bring a spirit of confusion and I think this is one reason why people you have men who think they're women you have women who are thinking them think they're man you have women who want to have relations with women you have men who want to have relations with men and it is a spirit of confusion and I don't know how much we'll talk about that later on but it's very important to understand it is a spirit that's attacking individuals because of the perversions they're involved with number seven foreign statues now while I don't believe that every little foreign thing maid can do this I believe we have to be very careful of bringing certain things into our home that are actually idols and would be would have been used in foreign countries as an idol one time a man came to me he brought this cane and they had this head on another person he said I brought this in Haiti and I had you'd had to use it right after I got back but I want to give it to you so what is he said well a Haitian man told me that that was the face of God on that cane and I brought it home so good thing I did because I had to use it right after I thought brother have you ever had back trouble oh no not till I came back from Haiti I said I thought to myself no wonder you bring a cane back that has not God's face on it has an idols face on it you know so I broke the came because I said I don't want it in my house where I've got to use it of course never had to use a cane thank God for that but again we have to be careful bringing things in well we'll get into this a little bit more in our study number 8 psychic hotlines horoscopes this is directly forbidden in the Bible and there is no doubt a spirit of ocultism is something that can be opened up a door that can be opened up right into your home if you become involved with these type of things so we've listed eight different things here and I'd like for my TV producer to just bring out the 8 different things the hotlines foreign statues sexual perversion printed material and the little spirit that it can bring on the screen right now and let people sum this up the last 45 seconds that we have in this particular hour look at this list any of these eight things that you're looking at can open the door to a spirit if you don't repent of it if you don't get delivered from it if you don't remove these things out of your house you can open up a door to an evil spirit and what happens is when you open up a door to these spirits it can create bondages it can create the spirit of confusion and so what we're going to talk about when we come back is we're gonna be talking about how that how Satan attempts again controlled by spirits the human body and controlled by spirits the human house so let's get into that we're gonna go to a brief break here give me a small break give you house we have laid a foundation concerning Leviticus chapter 14 when the Hebrew people went in to take a house that had previously been owned by a Canaanite I am a ride or one of the other individuals that used to possess the promised land many times idols would be hidden in the wall and sometimes it would create actually not sometimes it would create streaks of red and green the priest would have to go in examine the house scrape the dust off which to us represents dealing with our flesh removing the things of our flesh and at times if it continued to spread remove the stones which represents removing people out of your life that could be detrimental to your spiritually or number three sometimes they had to redo the whole house from the very beginning which represents starting afresh and anew with new friends new people new places new thought patterns etc and so we see that there is a pattern that's developed here now just a few moments ago we talked about how that there are a things that can go that can be in your home eight different objects eight different things that can actually come into your house which can open a door to the attacks of spirits let me give an example of what I'm talking about here now follow this story very carefully in mark chapter 5 we read about the man of Ghaderi the man of Ghaderi was a man that had apparently some form of a breakdown lost his mind and he living in the tombs now right across from the area of Capernaum in the area of Israel the galilee area and the reason he was living in the tombs I personally believe and cutting himself with stones and crying aloud day and night is because that in the time of Jesus when they buried a person they did not involve the physical body they kept the blood in the body so a person once they died were almost immediately buried they still do this today among the Orthodox groups in the nation of Israel and as a result of that if a person had been possessed or controlled by an evil spirit then that evil spirit would sort of remain around that body for a very brief period of time and so when they took the body for example if the man died about eleven o'clock they would take the body and bury it before the Sun set then that that person was dead but that evil spirit may have remained there so this man held out and sort of hung out around the graveyard and hung out around the tombs and it's important to understand why because their spirits would dwell spirits you know the Jews teach that it's a Jewish teaching I should say that evil spirits hang out in two places they hang out in dry places which are like deserts but they also hang out around graveyards because people once they have died and you know now we embalming but back then when they died they buried them almost immediately so evil spirits would if they had controlled the person anew that person would hang out either in a wilderness or a dry place and we know that's true because Luke says unclean spirits walk through Dry places seeking rest and finding none and we also know that that once people have been controlled by an evil spirit that the evil spirits seek to possess a person more than anything else so here was this man of Ghaderi and he was living there now there's two things I want to share with you about the story in mark chapter 5 that are very practical and very applicable for today now please hear this carefully in mark chapter 5 when you read about this man of Ghaderi there's two parts of this that that when I have been to Israel really stand out in my mind number one is the fact that there was at least 2,000 unclean spirits in him the demon in the man in mark five said my name is legion for we are many now a Roman legion was six thousand but we do know that two thousand pigs drowned implying that one demon spirit went into each Pig so we know the man had at least two thousand unclean evil spirits in him the reason the demon took on the name Legion is because a Roman legion was six thousand and there were Roman legions that literally marched through that area of Galilee coming into Israel so the demon took upon itself the name of something that it was familiar with a legion was many soldiers these demons were many possessing one man now the question came up in Israel several years ago why did these unclean spirits decide to go into swine a swine is an unclean animal in fact according to the law of Moses Jews were not even permitted to eat pork and it was a very very unclean animal religious Jews even to this day consider swine to be very very very unclean so why did the demons go into the pigs well we found out that we're very close to where this man was living in the tombs there was a temple that was actually a city that existed and in that city was a temple of zeus now seuss was a Greek Roman deity back in the time of Jesus that the Greeks and Romans worshipped especially the Greeks and what is interesting about it is in the temple in Jerusalem Jehovah God desired a sacrifice Jehovah God desired a lamb a bull or a ram but in Zeus worshipped the the people who worship Zeus offered pigs on the altar now used to puzzle me why these Jewish people part Gentile part Jew living in Israel we're raising pigs and I found out that these pigs were used for sacrifice on the altar of Zeus in other words when Jesus delivered this man of God Erik cast the devil out of him and the spirits left the man Jesus not only set this man free Jesus destroyed the the sacrifices of old Zeus Zeus and his priesthood got got you know they were out of business when Jesus got through setting this man of Ghaderi free so the point I make is this the devil desires to be worshipped Matthew chapter 4 Luke chapter 4 when Satan tempted Jesus he said bow and worship me and I'll give you the kingdoms of the world for there delivered unto me and to whomsoever I will I give them so Satan has desire to be worship we know that so these pigs were going to go on an altar where they were going to be worshipped so when the demons left this man's body and mark five they immediately said we're going to go into the swine we're going to go into the pigs and the reason being is the devil desires worship I believe that stuff the ultimate reason why but the pigs committed suicide excuse me that's a joke that I'm making Israel when I'm teaching so I saw this they committed suicide and said we're not going to live with the devil that's man em they jumped in the lake and they drown you know a bunch of pork floating on the water so so the point one is Satan wants to be worshipped and anything that we bring into our house that's connected to worship outside of God outside of the true God can open up the door this is why I tell people for example and I do have friends I have people who write us and call us and a very dear friend of mine in Florida and his his background is Catholic but I always like to tell my Catholic friends this is the danger of having a statue or having an image that the Bible forbids because you know the enemy Satan can easily take something that's in the form of an image and produce a counterfeit miracle with it and people would be would be deceived by that for example the word images has found 71 times in the Bible graven images 20 times graven image 27 times the word idol is found 15 times idols found 101 times this is what God instructs Israel's to Israel to do he says break down the images Exodus 23 24 cut down the images Exodus 26 30 destroy in the mountains the images numbers 33 52 burn the images with fire Deuteronomy chapter 7 and verse 5 and images were considered to be a curse to the righteous in the book of Judges Dan the tribe of Dan caused Israel to sin through idolatry in Exodus chapter 32 and verse 8 the children of Israel were cursed because they worshipped the golden calf and the golden calf brought death to thousands of Hebrews when they sin judges chapter 8 and 27 Gideon sinned he took a gold the gold that he'd received from an offering and he built in gold and Eve fought out of it and sent in into idolatry second Kings 18 and for the brazen serpent which was built by Moses in the wilderness that when Israel looked upon that serpent they lived we discover in 2nd kings 18:4 that for nine hundred years Israel had been burning incense to that serpent and Hezekiah had it destroyed because it had become an idol and the Jews were so careful because of what God said in the in the law of Moses they were so careful about idolatry they were so careful about idol worship that what they would do is that they would even when they built the temple they were forbidden to put faces on the cherubs faces anywhere because God did not want them looking at something even that had a face of an angel on it and worshiping an angel so in the temple that was built in Solomon and Herod's day they would have been geometric designs flower designs things of this nature palm trees etc that would have been carved in and used as a design in the building before fear of the culture of that day for fear of people worshipping an idol are becoming involved in idolatry now the reason I'm sharing this with you is to show you part 1 of mark chapter 5 which is when the man of Ghaderi was delivered from evil spirits demons came out of the man and enter into the swine because the swine were going to be used in the worship of Zeus Jesus not only delivered the man but he destroyed Zeus worship and that part of Israel this is the reason why if you read mark chapter 5 that the people of the community said Jesus leave us alone please get out of town go away you're bad for business and I would think that if a man who was cutting himself with stones that was dangerous to the community that people were afraid of that if God would deliver him everybody would be happy but Jesus when he delivered the man destroyed the pigs isn't that something the man that gave the pigs a permanent wave there they were on the ways of the shore galilee floating so satan desires to be worshipped that's the point i make making so this is the reason why idols are so detrimental idols are so dangerous because you can take something that is an image and as you begin to worship that image an evil spirit or an unclean spirit can be connected to that image and this is why i don't want to emphasize this this is my god all through the Bible and God has never changed his opinion about this he forbids the worship of an image and in relations to religious worship and so we we can't do that you know God is a spirit we worship Him by faith they that worship Him worship Him in spirit and in truth and we don't have to have anything in front of us to look at to to be an object lesson for us to try to draw us closer to God we have his word see everything done in the ello gov inant had to be done by sight you know the priest went into the ark the priests offer the blood the priests offered a sacrifice but all that was pointing to Jesus now we follow the Lord totally by faith we don't have to see him we don't have to see objects we don't have to have faith objects to help us enter in we do it totally by faith and that's why he blesses us with his word his spirit and his anointing now going back to the subject about images just like in the Old Testament when Satan would come along and people would build like take a tree and carve a tree up and make an image out of it or they would take a calf and they would bow down in front of it and spirits could be connected to that let me show you how demons work today listen carefully we mentioned there just a moment ago about the word image everybody say that with me at home image image now I want to give you some notes that I have made here that I think are very very important in relationship to another aspect of this and that is this in the Old Testament Satan used an image but in the New Testament he uses imaginations did you hear that image and nation's imaginations now imaginations are the things that we have in our mind the thoughts that we have in our mind that Satan tries to do his best to control those or should I say tries to do his best to use those thoughts to test and tempt people how does temptation begin temptation does not begin with an act temptation begins with the thought and so imaginations this is why the Bible said casting down imaginations pulling down the strongholds casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ because Satan uses the as he used an image in the Old Testament Satan uses the imaginations in the New Testament as people would build an idol and a spirit would be attached to that Idol so the wrong imaginations can cause a spirit of some kind to attack our mind now I do not believe I want to add this that true spirit filled Christians who are actively serving God can be demonized or possessed by spirit but I do know Christians can be vexed Christians can be oppressed by spirits and sometimes they are oppressed or vexed by spirits because there is a door somewhere that is being opened for that spirit to attack I believe there's two ways spirits attack I believe one that they can attack by God like in the book of Job where the head came down and God said okay you can test the man I'll see what's in it I've had that happen in my life when I was an 18 year old minister and I'll talk about that perhaps later if we if it fits in and there's other times where a door is open so you have like voluntarily opening the door and involuntarily where the enemy comes in other words you don't select it you don't choose but you come under an attack and the other instance is you open a door and that gives that Satan the opportunity to move into your home and move into your life so images were used in idolatry and imaginations today if our minds are thinking about things they should not be thinking about BAM it opens the door to the enemy you know in Genesis 11 when men were building that tower it says there is nothing nothing that they cannot imagine now to do in other words their imaginations became so wild in them in that God was saying I've got to do something about it because their imaginations are so wild now if I don't destroy this tower what will they do next in Genesis chapter 6 it talks about man's imaginations were evil continually and that's when God sent the flood so evil imaginations open up a door to spirits and so as we talk about idols as we talk about a person having an idol in their home that can open up a door we have to understand that wrong imaginations can open up an attack that's why they have to be cast down that's why you've got to cast down the imaginations that's why when the tempter comes and Satan is the tempter we know that that in Luke chapter 4 and Luke chapter 4 in Matthew chapter 4 when Jesus dealt with Satan he spoke the word he spoke three times if you'll check out Matthew for every reference that Jesus spoke written in Matthew four came from the book of Deuteronomy I think it may have came if I recall from memory from about chapter six you shall worship the Lord thy God and him only shall you serve man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Father thou shalt not tempt the LORD thy God all these scriptures are found in the Old Testament in the book of Deuteronomy so Jesus used the word to speak out against Satan here's why that's important because you will discover that Satan being an angel and being an invisible being that his realm of activity is Prince of the power of the air Ephesians two and two so here's the atmosphere here's the air this is where Satan's Dominion is this is where his authority is now this is important you cannot out think Satan in other words if you're sitting here are you in a chair you're just here to watch me right here you're sitting here in a chair and you have something that's coming to your mind and you're just thinking about it you're not saying anything you're thinking about it you're thinking about it you can't think the enemy and the reason is is if I can nun let's say use a a natural okay television waves television and radio now a lot of things are coming through cable but there was a time especially let's say radio when you have a tower and a signal is being sent out now you don't see these signals you don't see these waves but they're coming into buildings they're coming through the air and if you have a little receiver right here then it will put it will pull down if you're connected to the right channel it will pull down the signal of that radio station all right now it's an invisible wave it's an invisible radio wave but it's real and if you're if you are connected in the right way in that instance you can pull the signal down and listen to the information that's being said all right let's look at that from the spiritual perspective Satan is the Prince of the power of the air the air is filled with a lot of wickedness a lot of spirits a lot of evil thoughts and if you open up an imagination like a wicked imagination you know what happens then watch this any spirit that is out there that is in tune with that imagination will lock into your mind and this is where spiritual battles occur in the mind is wicked imaginations and I heard a man explain this one time he said he was from Bulgaria here's what he told me he said he some from the country before I became a Christian I was heavily involved in the occult and we had a procedure this man told me this he said we had a procedure of in which we would take we would go to a lake of water that was very shallow and we would take a mirror and put it in the water and put rocks under the water and we would stare in that mirror through the water and we would concentrate on something really wicked we concentrate on somebody we hated that we wanted to see killed he said we could even concentrate on lust like a girl or a woman that we were lusting after and he said we would sit for an hour to it and this man told me he said Perry I'm telling you this happened after a period of time you would see through that mirror coming behind you a demon a spirit he said no we didn't call him demons then we just knew that they were spirit beings now this is a guy that was in the New Age movement and he said it would flash by and it would startle you at first but you couldn't lose your concept of concentration and then it would come and get closer and you see it get closer closer and then the next thing you know BAM it would possess you and then once it possessed you you could go out and and there would be a power in you to control people and do things but he said it was very scary because that spirit in you could turn on you and do you physical bodily and mental harm people lost their mind people got deathly sick when they would get involved with this so you know you got to understand something all of Satan's apples have worms I mean what you're getting involved with in the occult may look good and feel good but I'm gonna take it's detrimental in the end and you need to understand that but the point is it was all in thinking it was all in the mind in other words he said the harder we concentrated on that wicked thought it literally eventually after several hours would draw a demon that was that kind of demon a demon of murder a demon of lust or whatever it would draw it toward us now I believe one reason this is possible is it goes back to the radio and the send the the little antenna of the receiver here's a radio to putting out a signal of a tape they're playing and it goes in the air well when you tune into that you you know see watch this it comes right in and then your radio at home or in the office picks up a signal that's being sent a hundred miles away I don't understand how this works I don't claim to understand how this works but I want to share this with you because I think it's very very very important that is this that your mind produces it electromagnetic waves now this is not something weird this is something that's a fact your heart isn't operates off of electromagnetism in other words when a person dies what do they do they electrically shock the heart back sometimes when a person has had a complete nervous breakdown what do they do they they shock the brain trying to get the brain operating again your mind produces signals and I honestly believe that when you think and concentrate on something that these brain waves that scientists know exist actually can go out there and in the spirit realm spirits can pick up on what you're thinking they they can pick up on what you're thinking that you know when we talk about Satan reading your mind there's a whole controversy of whether or not say it connects to read a person's mind but when it comes to wicked imaginations I'm convinced that it works with brain waves so in other words if you're sitting here and you're thinking of something just totally wicked I mean you just got something on your mind and it's constant it's constant it's not going to be long it may be hours or it may be a couple of days that a spirit will attach itself and you'll find yourself coming under a spirit of confusion and a spirit of bondage and it's almost like University I'm sure you have if you've ever seen the cartoon of the little monkey on the back it's kind of sitting on the guy's shoulder whispering into the fellas ear that's almost the type of spiritual battle that you enter into so I want to share that with you and tell you that it's very very very important to understand that as images are are used at times by demonic powers and let me stand up I want to show them something back here because I want to make something clear when I teach this because I know if I don't make this clear that I'm going to get mail and I'm going to get letters from people but when I talk about images people say well what should I do what if I have something in my house all right here's the painting let me show you this painting for an example here is a painting that was made by neihu Maribelle in 1994 who is an Israeli artist now this painting has a scene from the Garden of Gethsemane and it has scriptures from all over the of the Lord's Prayer in different languages here it is in English and and there it is in Hebrew and I think there's a Greek a Greek went on here and it is a beautiful painting now when I talk about images I have it has nothing do with artwork has nothing to do with like a piece of art you know you have people that have the wonderful paintings of Jesus and I have in my office Jesus sitting down talking to a doctor the great physician talking to the physician see we're not talking about these things we're talking about objects that have been used in foreign countries for example for idolatry or for idol worship there's a vast difference between a piece of art like this and something that is used in the form of idol worship or idolatrous so I want to make that clear because sometimes people get confused they say well I've got a painting of Jesus is that an is that idolatry well it's not if you're not worshiping it if you're not praying to the painting and worshipping it well it's not in that sense of the word so I want to make that clear I do want to tell you a very bizarre story let me pick I like to use things when I'm making the illustration here this is just a beautiful glass Vaz we call it a vase that you put flowers in I had a friend of mine that came back from India Calvin McDaniel is his name now Calvin has seen some wonderful miracles happen in India he and Jack Harris and rusty domaine who are three missionaries our ministry supports but he brought this drum back now this drum was given to him by someone in India and it was very old and he could tell it had been used it had been beaten before and he brought this drum home for his son and when when Calvin McDaniel came back to the state of Alabama where his home was with this drum something very strange happened shortly after he returned he and his wife were sitting at their table and they were working if I'm not mistaken they were working on tax information but they were going over something and all of a sudden they began to hear this really bizarre scratching sound just and he said do you hear that she said I sure do where's that coming from and he said it almost sounds like it's coming from the drum so they ignored it for a minute thought it would go away and it kept going then it got louder and louder and they got they really got afraid Calvin said come over here and they stood over the drum and it was like something was inside the drum scratching trying to get out and Calvin said man he said you know I didn't really feel great about bringing that home because I it looks to me like it has been used maybe by some groups somewhere now remember in India they'll beat the drums to conjure up demons this is the same thing that they do in Haiti they'll beat the drums to conjure up demons and those demons come well obviously that drum had been used in some form of idol worship and Kelvin said they went outside now he and his wife will verify this and he can tell the story in much greater detail than I'm sharing it with you today but they went outside and they cut the drum up and when they cut the the chords the that were holding the skin on the skin of the drum the it popped open and he said pari it was like something air came out of that drum and something flew out of it screeching and he said we just got rid of it I mean I think they burned it and destroyed it and got rid of it rebuked it and somehow see that drum had been used in an act of idol worship now there's nothing wrong with drums the Bible said in Psalms chapter one fifty praise the Lord on the cymbals and praised him on the drums so there's nothing wrong with having a drum if that drum has not been used in idol worship there's nothing wrong with music you know people talk about someone wrote the other day talking about music in the church they didn't believe in music in the church and and of course we have a praise team in a praise band see it's not the drums that are wicked it's who's behind the drums playing it a guitar is not wicked it's who's playing the guitar a keyboard is not wicked a PA system is not wicked most churches have it but it's what's behind the PA system coming out of it that's important so in other words when we talk about imaginations and images this is one of the powerful ways where one of the strongest ways that Satan attempts to come against the people of God is through bringing something in the hand in the home that a spirit could be attached with and if your home is pure and you just got some you know pots and pans and flowers and beautiful objects and a few paintings and so on then the enemy will try to come in through imaginations because to be honest with you imaginations are more powerful than some little objects sitting around your house because you can just throw the object away and you deal with it but you know imaginations you have to deal with your the mind you have to deal with the intellect you have to deal with what your mind is going on a daily basis you know Paul talked about that every day he has to bring his body under subjection so it's a daily thing of getting up in the morning and following the Lord and trying to do what is right so in other words the listing that we gave you earlier that shows you all these different things we have to be very very careful what we bring into our house I always tell people especially young people we talk about children young people here for a moment I always tell young people you know they'll say well you know music doesn't matter music is music well if music doesn't matter I want someone to explain this to me how could King David go into King Saul's palace and sit down with a harp and play an evil spirit out of this man check out first Samuel 16 17 18 all the way to about 22 and and when King Saul was troubled by an evil spirit David a young boy that could play a harp and prophesy on the instruments of music would come in and begin to play and prophesy on instruments of music and it would relieve the Bible said Saul was refreshed and made well and how can that happen well because music can be anointed there's a scripture that even talks about the prophet Elijah and said when the minstrel played when the musician played the hand of the Lord came upon the prophet of God and I've seen that happen I've walked into church buildings where the choir was singing and where the musicians were playing and brother I'm telling you there was an anointing of God in that place you could feel the presence of God when you walked in many of you know what I'm talking about you've experienced that as well now if if godly music if anointed music can produce that kind of results then I'm telling you that demonic music or music which has been played by people who are ungodly can also have an effect on you now you know over the years I've picked up information from different sources and and sometimes people say brother Perry where did you hear that from you know can you document that and there are some things I try I try to literally doc try to document everything I preach everything I say to people everything I tell people and sometimes if it's years ago when I heard it and when I came across it I didn't I didn't years ago keep the documentation that I do today but I heard a tape I can tell you where I was I was at the Essex Church of God in Essex Maryland when bill Reed was the pastor that been probably 12 years ago and he had a cassette tape of someone who had done a study on music and they told a story about a mental asylum and how that they had music they had someone who would sit like at a keyboard they did a test and they would play music and they noticed that when they played music that the individuals at this asylum were much calmer they were a little bit easier to deal with when there was no music there they would it seemed like they had more difficulty with him then they noticed something begin to happen they did this test for several weeks they had two different individuals that would come in and play the same exact kind of music now you got to remember the people there in the asylum did not know who was on the keyboards did not know who was playing the music but they noticed when one person played that the people were much calmer than when another person played so they began to shift it around to see if it was because it was when they were playing and they found out that when this other person was on the keyboards the people just did not have I guess you could say they were not as refreshed or made well as when the other person was and they began to study and found out that the woman who was playing the keyboard during one session was a Christian woman and when she played the people were much better the other person was an old heart and unbelieving woman and when she plays so it's almost like when they played whatever spirit they had or personality that was in them kind of flowed through the music and you can see that with you can see that with Christian singers you can see that with rock musicians you know certain rock musicians will get up and kids start acting in a certain way and then another one gets up and they start acting in a certain way because the personality of the person begins to flow just like in preaching the personality of the person begins to flow through the preaching of the word of God and so what we have to understand something is here young people often telling me I don't see anything wrong with the music well let me tell you the wrong kind of music can unequivocally open up the door for evil spirits I remember several years ago people were into backward masking they would talk about how you can play music backwards and you could because this can be done you could play something backwards and you could hear certain words playing backwards but I told a group of young people I said hey it's not playing music backwards that's messing things up it's playing music forward it's what you hear in the music when you're playing it forward that's causing the problem so you know understand that but let me talk to you for a moment about this because I have a little addendum to that I have added to my outline here because I want to mention this because we're talking about our young people because every parent I know is concerned about your children raising your children properly you're concerned about your teenagers that they don't get involved with the wrong crowd and you know the thought came to me someone asked me this years ago they said how does Satan select whom he attacks in a family and this is a great mystery because how does Satan select his victims you take a family of four children you may have three let's say you have four boys you may have three boys that end up being good boys they go to school they do good and you'll have one sometimes it's the oldest but you'll have one who will give a heartache to that family you'll have one that will come into rebellion for girls in the family many times you'll have two or three of those girls that will just be wonderful and the dad and mom can be proud of them but you'll have that one that for some reason it's like they are the one that Satan targeted and I'm often evaluated this I said why is this so I can give you example after example of family members who for example had two three four sons in the family and I observed something now listen to me very carefully when my little boy was born I began to tell him when he began to understand the scripture I said son do you understand that the Word of God says holy is the male child that opens up the womb son do you understand that you are special to God because you were a male child and you opened up your mother's womb he said daddy what's what's the womb so we haven't quite explained all that to him but let me say this to you I said son you're holy to the Lord now I read that and I read where the firstborn son received the double inheritance and the double blessing we know that's true from the Word of God and it seems as though that Satan in many families attacks the oldest child if you have several children it seems like it's the oldest one that comes out under an attack because if it's a boy holy is the male child that opens up the womb and I begin to observe I begin to talk to families who are having problems with their kids and 80% of the time think about what I'm saying about 80 percent of the time when you would say okay this son is giving you a problem how many children you got four how many sons do you have to is he the oldest yeah come to think of it he is and again it's not this way in all instances because in the story of the prodigal son it was the youngest son that wanted his money and went out and live lived a wild but it's not in every instance but I honestly believe there's a spiritual pattern of how Satan attempts to come and attack the firstborn son knowing that the firstborn son is wholly under the lord of the first point especially the firstborn son so I want to talk about this for a moment how does Satan select his victims now we do know according to the Word of God that Satan can come against people when they're very very young Satan can attack people when they're very very young let me give you just a few examples of this the epileptic child in mark chapter 9 verse 21 Jesus said to the father how long has it been since this child has been in this condition and the father said of a child Matthew chapter 15 22 there was a woman's daughter who was grievously vexed with the devil and it was a daughter it was a young daughter a young child and here we have two examples in the Bible of many that we could give where evil spirits attempted to attack children when they were very very very young now let me say something to you Satan has always attempted to attack the child because your seed is your future your children are your future see the thing about abortion is we're not just destroying a life if we abort a baby we're destroying our future the whole future of the nation is summed up in the children that are born in the mother's womb and you can read in Egypt where Pharaoh came along and Pharaoh attempted to destroy the male children you can read in the time of Jesus in Matthew's Gospel chapter 1 chapter 2 where Herod came along and Herod was attempting to destroy the the seed which was Jesus Christ had all the children in Ramah which was about a 10 or 12 mile radius killed that were all under 12 years of age so we can see that Satan definitely has attacked the children and you know our sons and daughters are under a very severe serious attack of the enemy in various forms right now and I personally believe one of the reasons they're under such an attack is because and I hope your sons and daughters are listening to me right now is because Acts chapter 2 and Joel 2 says in the last days I shall pour out my spirit upon all flesh your sons and your daughters shall prophesy and the sons and daughters are best by God the endtime generation that is going to see the return of the Lord Jesus Christ is abundantly blessed by God and I believe this is the reason why Satan is attempting to attack the sons and daughters I was reading a list recently where up in a certain northern state that Alette there are 11 year olds that had become alcoholics there were 12 and 13 year old girls who are becoming pregnant I mean it used to be that the attack was on the mother and the dad and then the attack came on the young couples then the attack came on the teenagers and now there's a satanic attack upon the children and I'd like to ask this question why is it that Satan attacks certain people in a family is it because those people are spiritually sensitive and so they can be sensitive to both good and evil it's because is it because that child for example has a great potential of doing something big or something great for God and the enemy knows it and the enemy wants to attempt to attack that child what is the real reason I did find this out there was a gentleman that was preaching in the state of North Carolina several years ago and he he's a counselor he counsels thousands of people every year among those are lesbians and homosexuals and strippers and just every conceivable type of individual you can imagine he says that in prostitution in dealing with prostitutes ninety-five percent of the women who are prostitutes were molested when they were a child or a teenager he said that those involved with pornography became involved with it usually through the help of an older person giving them the magazine or the video or whatever as a child or as a early teenager stealing he said those who involved was stealing began as a child or as a teenager homosexuality I thought this was interesting because he started talking about the number of homosexuals and lesbians that he is counseled you know there's there's actually three when you talk about homosexuality just dealing with people talking to people reading and studying I've discovered there's three different aspects of this there are people for example who experiment with the same with sex with the same sex when they're young but they're not homosexuals it's just something they fell into someone introduced them to but they're not homosexuals they simply fell into that and what happens sometimes and is the enemy may want to make them think that they're a homosexual and there's nothing there it's just the fact that they experimented with it number two there are people who have experimented with it and become addicted to the person or addicted to the act and created a bondage number three there are simply radical homosexuals who Romans chapter ones that are given over to a reprobate mind I do not believe that everybody who's involved with lesbianism or homosexuality is given over to a reprobate mind because if that were so then none of them could ever be saved and there are thousands of former homosexuals and lesbians who have been delivered and set free because somebody got to them and said you're not born this way you know things that happen when you're growing up when a man is molesting a young boy or a teenager when an uncle or a brother is molesting another brother when a when a daughter grows up and she is abused physically and raped by men then when she gets to be a teenager she is turned off by men and that can lead her into lesbianism and again I'm not saying every case is the same because it's not but here's the point that I want to make and I don't want you to miss this point most of the time people who are lesbians and homosexuals most of the time as a child became introduced to it very young or as a teenager now I'm saying that for a reason because I want you to notice that counselors have determined that in most instances if someone is in what we call or what the Bible calls a spiritual bondage or tied up into a work of the flesh many times it is a result of encountering something when they were very very young or encountering something when they were in their early early early teens so this is what I want to share with you and I think I think you're going to understand this now follow me very carefully what happens is as people grow up in life there are things that happen let's say the rape being molested a physical abuse and when you're young you're very sensitive when you're young you're very your heart and your spirit is very pure and you're very open doesn't matter who you were born to when you're born first five to seven years there's an innocence in a child now when an adult of any age begins to harm or abuse that child it creates a emotional and emotional hole in the mind and spirit of that person and let me say that again it creates an emotional hole in the mind or the spirit of that person so here's what happens so the older they get when those holes are not healed there's a hole here because they were told that they don't they're not going to amount to anything there's a whole Hill of insecurity because they had no father and mother or mother in their life there's a hole here he'll there's a hole here it's almost a tongue-twister it there's a hole right here because of something else that happens so as they get older they never are made whole wh Oh II see Jesus would look at people he would say will thou be made whole will you be made whole and that hole means complete complete your mind is completely healed your soul is completely healed your spirit is completely healed and of course when you're whole on the inside it can affect your physical body on the outside you can be sick because you're not whole emotionally and spiritually there's a lot of people out there having breakdowns and nervousness because they're not hold on the inside there's people out there that's that's having physical sicknesses because of unforgiveness and bitterness and strife and things going on on the inside of them so they're not hold WH o L e now stay with me because I want to show you this so as that child that has the holes in his soul becomes a teenager those holes become bigger he gets with the wrong crowd next thing you know by getting with the wrong kind of people and here's what basically happens a kid over here that's got a bunch of holes starts association so she a ting with the kid over here that's got a bunch of holes and you got two people together who are not hole WH o le this happens with marriage a person for example goes through a divorce and a lot of times divorce people when a person when they've gone through a divorce they're lonely they're looking for companionship so they'll go over here and here's a woman that finds a guy at work or even finds a guy Church sometimes and they oh my goodness he's been through what I have been through that's point one oh well we we believe the same thing that's point to it all looks good and then they get into a relationship without really knowing each other and you have a woman over here who's not been healed totally yet with a man over here that's not been healed totally yet so you've got two halves trying to make a hole and it doesn't work all you end up with is a fourth and a fourth trying to make a half and 50% of them and their spirit have not even been healed so you should never enter another lay ship with somebody until you know you have been completely totally hold WH o LD knowing who you are in Christ knowing you're completing him going back to children again so children grow up with emotional holes of abuse of rate of incest of all sorts of perversion in their life then they got start getting with other kids who they are not whole and then pretty soon it leads to one word it's called rebellion now here's what happens when not just a child but when anyone gets in rebellion listen to this proverbs chapter 17 verse 11 for rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft I'm sorry that's first Samuel 15:23 for rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft listen to proverbs 17 11 an evil man seeketh only rebellion therefore a cruel messenger will be sent unto Him proverbs chapter 17 verse 11 so what happens is because they are not whole because they're not complete a spirit of rebellion and there is a spirit of rebellion gets ahold of them and then you can't deal with them you can't counsel them you can't talk to them you can't you can't reason with them they're out there doing their own thing and young people listen to me if you have a hole in your heart and I'm not talking physically in the natural I'm talking the spiritual maybe you're very upset because your mother and dad divorced and you feel like it's your fault or your mother and dad divorced and you would have love to stop and there's nothing you can do about it and you get tired of going here and going there and maybe you really genuinely love one parent more than the other and you're all confused on the inside you've got to get with other young people who are strong in the Lord you've got to find and fellowship with other young people who are complete who are whole because if you go and find another young person that's bitter you're going to have a whole group that's bitter you're going to be acting in rebellion now listen to what the Bible says a cruel messenger will be sent to the person that's in rebellion this is the same really if we go to the New Testament this is the same kind of teaching Jesus gave when he talked about unforgiveness now in Matthew's Gospel we talked about the unforgiving servant and he said if you don't forgive my heavenly father will turn you over to the Tormentor it's the same thing Paul wrote about to Timothy when he said instruct those who oppose one another if God will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth that they may recover themselves out of the snare the devil who are taken captive by Satan at Satan's will strife and unforgiveness and rebellion opens the door to an evil spirit you can see that in the book of Samuel when King Saul became jealous of David do you know what happened the Bible said in evil the Spirit of God departed from Saul and an evil spirit from the Lord meaning an evil spirit with God's permission began to trouble him so I want you to understand something here that Satan will attempt to move into your life through rebellion so Satan selects his victims at a very early age I believe that the kingdom of Satan when he begins to see see emotional holes in young people he then tries to attract them with other young people who are not whole then when they get together the spirit of rebellion is developed and when rebellion of is developed what does it do it opens up a door to an evil spirit this is the reason why some of you don't recognize your kids once they become late teens you say my goodness his hair is different his face is different his dress is different his tone is different his attitude is different or her whatever the case may be you're saying whatever happened to that beautiful child I raised something is wrong somewhere and this is why I want to say something to you if you're a parent that's gone through a divorce you have to show double affection double attention and double love to your child because it's very easy for them to be very very hurt and very very grieved about what you've gone through I have met couples where they would bring to me a boy now I want you to listen to me a husband and wife would bring to me a boy and I look at that little boy he would be 10 12 14 he'd be sometimes 7 8 years of age and the mother would say brother stone I want you to pray he's got a rebellious spirit on him and I look at that child and I knew there was something deeper than the spirit of rebellion he sasses me all the time he won't listen to anything I've got to say I will glean over to the mom and dad and say let me ask you a question have you been through a divorce 90% of the time the answer is yes and I will say you don't understand what's happened to this child this child has just gone through his heart or her heart being torn down the middle his natural father for example may not be the man behind him and he's torn he has to go over here with his daddy who says one thing and his mama that says and now he's got a stranger that he don't even really know that wasn't birthing him whether it's the woman or the man that he's living with how do you expect a child to react in situations like that and so instead of rebuking and trying to cast the devil out you have to show affection you have to show love and you have to show understanding because if you don't the wounds that are in that child may continue for a long long time and then they develop as they get older and then and then if they're not whole when they get married the same thing they saw growing up will come against them and affect them so I want you to understand this Satan selects his victims at a very very early age Satan selects it selects his victims by noticing the emotional holes that are creating someone well let me go back and talk about this the enemy selects his victims when they're young and this is the part that I want to show you whether it's through the form of sickness or whether it's through the form of an attack so we have to keep our family whole WH o le and keep the whole hol e out of their spirit those fiery darts of the enemy just piercing into their spirit on the inside and remember if they get into rebellion and I hope some young people are hearing me right now but if they get into rebellion than a cruel messenger and you know the word messenger and I know in the New Testament is Angulo's ain't angel it's really saying an evil angel can be sent to you if you get into a spirit or spirit of rebellion the example again is King Saul when he became jealous of David that's one of those streaks on the wall see that's one of those green streaks green with envy green with jealousy one of those green streaks on the wall on the stone and he didn't deal with it Saul did not deal with the jealousy and it drove him insane and the only relief he could get was when David ministered to him you know some of the people that you have strive toward need the minister to hear you need to get get it right with God I'll look into that later so how does the enemy select victims when they're young but how do the holes come in the holes can come in by words which are spoken by deeds what you're done and I'll go step further by things that they see I've only got about seven minutes left so let me see if I can share this with you very quickly uh several years ago we were in the state of Ohio ministering and we were ministering at a great I mean it was a powerful service that was called the Princeton Pike church up in Hamilton Ohio and right in the middle of my message on the last Sunday night I was there I was preaching and all of a sudden a dad jumped up in the middle of the congregation he said is there a doctor in the house is there a doctor and that's why I didn't know why it was calling for a doctor and I yelled dr. Jesus is here and everybody amen well I he said my son it's my son I laid the microphone down I went back and there was a young boy he looked like he was about 11 years of age on the seat having a seizure well there was an indignation that rose up in me it was just an anointing and I laid my hands on that boy and began to rebuke the spirit I said this he swallowed candy said no it's like he's having a seizure and I rebuked the evil spirit and the power of God came on the boy and he sat up and he was okay and you know I guess the whole church along with me was to be honest a little surprised because it was just something that happened all of a sudden so after the service I went to the Father and I said sir let me ask you a question does your boy have epileptic seizures he said no and I said no never he says never in the history of our family has anybody had seizures and this just came on him while he was in the middle of Church here so I said well something has opened up a door he I said that that's not normal something has opened up a door and I kind of left him with that well a friend of this man came to me afterwards he said Perry this man the dad was a little embarrassed to tell you this but he told me and I'm gonna share it with you that a few weeks before this incident we're talking about this what looked like an epileptic seizure that this father in and the family had a movie channel coming on in their home and they watched The Exorcist now I don't remember ever seeing the exid's Exorcist I heard about it I think one time it came on television while I was flipping the channel and you know some girl was spitting up what looked like green pea soup and but they were watching The Exorcist now it was an uncut version of The Exorcist that showed everything whatever it showed but I do know it was a very heavy demonic movie and this little boy was scared he said daddy we don't need to be watching that and the dad said son it's just a movie and the dad instead of turning it off let the son watch it with the family some of members of the family and a fear came on this boy and a of fear I believe it's what opened up the door to this physical seizure and I told the father I said if you've got a channel coming on in your home that shows that kind of stuff the best thing for you to do is get rid of it take it off and of course I send him word I never followed up on that because I don't know what happened but I do know that is an example of how a child through fear seeing something the enemy can open up a door now again let me talk about evil spirits because I want to reiterate this I do not believe I when it comes to sickness there's a fine line here but this gets into a theological debate but there's a fine line here between sicknesses like a spirit of infirmity that the woman in Luke was bound by because she was called a daughter of Abraham there's a fine line with a spirit attacking the body or the mind and a spirit possessing the human spirit now if you are possessed by God God and the devil can't live in the same house I want you to know that right now a fountain can't produce bitter and sweet water and a tree cannot produce thorns and fig figs it's our fruit at the same time so in my spirit man right down in my innermost being God can't live there with the devil they'd kill each other I mean you know I wouldn't kill each other but there'd be such a battle going on it would rip your system apart in the physical body there are spirits of infirmity or sickness that can attach itself to that part of the body I don't totally understand how it works but sometimes the spirit of infirmity has to be rebuked and then a healing can occur according to Luke's Gospel but also in the mind in the intellect demonic spirits can vex the mind oppress the mind and in the case of this board there was some kind of a spirit that had come into him and I believe the fear had opened the door listen what the Bible says God has not given us a spirit of fear but power love and a sound mind and so if God does not give us a spirit of fear pray tell me where the spirit of fear came from the spirit of fear came from the powers of darkness there is a spirit of fear and again that spirit of fear opens up the doors to insecurity it opens up the doors to other things so I'm hoping that what we're sharing with you up till this point has been a great blessing and a great help to you now there's a part two to this series on another videotape we're going to do several things on this tape we're going to continue the teaching I'm going to share with you some of the most bizarre unusual stories that will help to illness right how the enemy attempts to get in the house and how to get rid of him and then toward the latter part of tape 2 we're going to show you the procedure of anointing something with oil not not as a routine or just a ritual but why we anoint things with oil and nor people with all according to James fire but how that in the Old Testament time objects were actually anointed I'm going to show you how to pray a prayer of faith over your house anointing the doors and windows of your home to keep the enemy out we're also going to show you something which is called a mezuzah it's a Jewish obvious object that when placed on the right side of the doorpost signifies that that house is consecrated to God and we're going to show you that in fact what we're going to do at the end of tape 2 is go to my home hmm very few people know where I live and we don't we don't announce where we live but we're going to go to my home we're going to show you how to attach the mezuzah and we're going to show you the procedure that the Lord taught me about anointing the house and speaking the Word of God over the house and again to some people I realize that some of this teaching is going to be new but I want to encourage you to look at it in light of God's Word and you're looking at someone right here who has preached preached for almost 24 years who has been all across the world and who does understand being a fourth-generation Minister how spiritual powers attempt to attack individuals and we said earlier that there are times that spirits attack like in the book of Job where the hedges lifted and the enemy is permitted to come in and there's other times where we can open the door to the powers of darkness and we come back on the second tape but I'm going to be dealing with is I'm going to be talking about a very strange and unusual attack that I went through as a teenager for six solid months and I'm going to show you the difference of an attack that comes as an assignment of the enemy like in the book of Job and an attack that comes because we can open up a door I'm going to do two special illustrations I don't know if you're like me when my father preached years ago I mean I enjoyed his preaching but every time he told a story man I perked up and I said I got to hear this and so people enjoy true life stories we're gonna be sharing that with you in a moment and I know you're young people do and I know probably with younger children some of the stuff I'm going to share I just want to say in advance that you may want to just listen to it before you let them hear it but I do believe your teenagers need to hear what I'm talking about because they need to understand real spiritual warfare and that warfare is out there okay so we're going to go to a break and there'll be some of special announcements on this tape and then we're going to go if
